Brenda from Devils Lake,ND
“Charges for a safe we don't use. Water running noise all night. Bathroom was dirty, door didn't shut very well, parking lot sucked.” Jul 27, 2008 by
Tim
“The beds were uncomfortable. When we walked in, the rooms were incredibly hot. The AC units should have been turned on before we got there. It was confusing to get to the hotel from the highway.” Jun 25, 2008 by

“I'd recommend this hotel if your looking for a stop along your travels. It's small, but met my needs and the staff was very friendly.” Jul 11, 2007 by
Seshan from Minneapolis, MN
“It was shabby for the price we had to pay.” May 30, 2007 by
Judi from Mcpherson, KS
“The staff at the motel was friendly and accommodating. Our room was fine. It is obvious that the owners are renovating an old motel, for the paint on the walls and the tile on the bathroom floor were new. Our daughter-in-law went swimming and was concerned about the cleanliness of the pool.” Sep 20, 2006 by
Nick from Shawnee, KS
“This was the worst hotel my wife and I have ever stayed in. The hotel in Michelle SD we stayed at on the way to spearfish was good. The Hotel in Spearfish SD was miserable and should be shut down. The hotel in Sioux City on the way back was nice. Two out of three is not bad. Bad Service, Bad rooms, No ironing board and or iron, light bulbs burnt out, foul stench, no clean towels brought to the room each day, Hot tub broke down, the continental breakfast each morning was never restocked, etc. ” Aug 30, 2006 by
Dianna from Gillette, WY
“I was disappointed that the hotel did not call us to let us know we could not change our reservations. I called the hotel well ahead of time to cancel Fri. night and keep Sat. night. ” Aug 21, 2006 by
Vicki from Portland, ND
“This was an older hotel that had rooms both in the main building (outside corridors) and then in a strip next to it. The kids loved the place, we had a large room with a vaulted wood ceiling, two queen beds, a microwave and a fridge. The recreation area was in a separate building, it had a large pool and a whirlpool, also video games, pool table and ping pong table so the kids kept busy.” May 30, 2006 by
Bart from Edmonton, AB CA
“This was a quiet, restful, location where you did not feel like you were "on the road" but actually living in a neighborhood and I could hear the birds sing in the morning. I went jogging on the creek trail nearby. Very friendly staff recommend an excellent restaurant.” Oct 11, 2005 by
Jason from Sioux Falls, SD
“Need to clean the rooms better and air the rooms out. It was rather stuffy and smelled like old smoke. We weren't there much other than to sleep, so it wasn't a big deal.” Sep 2, 2005 by
Lonnie from Mechanicsburg, PA
“This is a better-than-average one star hotel with some decent amenities. It appears to be family-run and well-maintained. Excellent location for Black Hills Passion Play, as well as easy access to other Soth Dakota attractions like Deadwood. I would recommend it.” Aug 10, 2005 by
Jim from Va, VA “Never stayed in this hotel! I requested 2 beds (3 adults) they only had 1 bed. Then I had to find another hotel 1 hour and 15 minutes away. I feel like I was ripped off.” Aug 1, 2005 by
Robert from Sheridan, WY
“This is obviously somebody's little gold mine. At the rates they charge, you'd expect them to keep the building safe and reasonably modern. The stairs and deck leading to our room were cracked & unpainted. The floor of our room tilted, so we slid until our heads hit the headboard. The staff were unfriendly and unsympathetic when we asked if other rooms were available.” Jul 30, 2005 by
Rhonda from Ogden, UT
“It was awful. the rooms smelled awful and they were infested with cock roaches. the room was filthy. infact the saop from the last guest was stillin tub and their dirty towels were hanging on hook. the carpet was filthy and was dusty near the base boards. not worht the money we spent. it was disgusting” Jul 27, 2005 by
Steve from Albuquerque, NM “Friendly, diffent and homey. A little off the beaten path, but a nice place to stay.” Jul 18, 2005 by
Ronee from St Francis, KS
“When we checked in we were told breakfast was from 7-10 am. The next morning the kids went for breakfast at about 9:30. They were no longer serving. We were then told they closed at 9:00. We said that is NOT what we were told. He told us there was no way that his employee would have told us that. The people staying next to us said the same thing, that that breakfast was till 10:00 am. Then others did as well. He came to our room with a cell phone and had my husband speak to the lady that checked us in. He was adamant that his employee did not make that mistake. The manager/owner did open the breakfast bar back up. I counted 14 people that came in to eat while I was there. The owner/manager was rude the remainder of our stay. We asked the cleaning person for towels he could not understand us. We had to go to the owner/manager to get the towels. I will NEVER stay or reccomend this place to anyone.” Jul 6, 2005 by
suzanne from st. paul, mn
“This motel has an odd layout, making it difficult to find your room if you are arriving at night. We booked online to get the best available rate, which is listed here as the avg. nightly rate. Most online reservations do not guarantee a place for your children to sleep, so be sure to call and verify what type of room was booked by the reservation company.” Jul 6, 2005 by
Suzanne from White Bear Lake, MN
“This is a motel, not a hotel. The facility is older and the layout is confusing. Both my parents and my family arrived in the dark, as we had told them we would and found the office staff locking up the building. Then we were sent to rooms that had only one bed after we had called to confirm there would be two.” Jul 4, 2005 by
Dennis from Milton, WI
“The staff seemed inconvienienced when have to provide something as simple as extra towels. When we arrived we only had a single bed reserved and I requested two doubles. I had to spend an extra hundred dollars to accomate my family that night. They would not work with us at all.” Jun 21, 2005 by
Art from Golden, CO
“Located in a quiet neighborhood, just off the main streets, but easy to find. Recommended a great place to eat.” Jun 14, 2005 by
Alicia from Whiteside, TN
“The hotel has great potential and charm even though it is an older facility. I liked the layout of our room, it had a cozy feel. We were there for rest and relaxation, but were interrupted by knocking on our door every morning between 9 and 10 am, even with our "do not disturb" in place. The office closes at 10pm and the staff were not very friendly. Even though we enjoyed the use of the indoor pool, there was an unpleasant odor in the whole area of the pool, laundry and gameroom.”
