  • Hotel staff was friendly and informative.
  • We love a good hot tub soak at hotels and this one was a huge disappointment! Old and smelly! Old small towels too!

“Overall, this was a very nice hotel but the hot tub really needs to be redone. It truly smelled and the towels weren't luxiourious 4-star towels, more like my old rags in the cupboard!”

  • Problems with heating.

“By all appearances, this hotel is a comfortable 4-star hotel. However, we had problems with our heating system that left our room feeling like a sauna at 2am. The hotel staff was gracious enough, however, to invite us back for a free stay.”

  • Awsome beds!

“My husband and I took a brief break from work and totally relaxed at the Inverness. The pool area is so private, the only negative I can say is the drinks are very expensive if you order pool side. We have used their spa and it was one of the nicest experiences a spa has to offer. The rooms on the 5th floor are wonderful! You get his and hers robes and it is a split level so it feels very fancy. The breakfast is delicious and the staff is so very friendly. We recommend this hotel to everyone because it is our favorite place to stay when we visit Colorado.”

  • Everything met or exceeded my expections. The concierge level was wonderful.
  • I was very disappointed with the food at Baca. Staff was very good though.

  • Nice beds.
  • Charged a service fee, and this is not even a resort.

“Good beds, nice staff. However, the so called service fee was uncalled for. If you need the services provided with the service fee, they should be optional to purchase not mandatory. This was my only problem with this hotel.”

  • Beautiful grounds and friendly staff.
  • Bathtub drained slow.

“This hotel is set in a beautiful setting and has many great amenities. I was not as impressed with the room as I hoped to be and the bath tub drained very slow. The room service was pretty good but when I asked for something that was missing we did not get it. As a parent of small children I did notice the carpet was not as clean as I would like. Overall this hotel was very nice to stay at and I would go back. I just don't feel it is a 4 star hotel.”

  • It was very comfortable and felt luxurious.
  • The outdoor pool had lots of dead insects floating in the water.

“It was a very nice hotel, but I felt manipulated by the front desk because my request was for 2-beds, and I was told the room available was terribly small, so he could upgrade me to a king bed. We agreed to do so, but then when other family members arrived, they insisted on the 2-bed arrangement but were charged an additional $20. In addition, the service during Sunday's brunch wasn't very good (although the food was great). The hotel was very nice and comfortable, but I really didn't like the nickel-and-dime mentality they seemed to have. In addition, they need to keep their pool cleaner (lots of floating dead insects). I would stay there again because it was a very nice place.”

  • Filthy, mildew bathroom, toilet ran all night, hidden fees.

“This is an attractive hotel situated on lovely grounds. But this hotel has problems. The $10/day facility service fee, not disclosed up front at the time observation, was an unwelcome and annoying surprise. The gift shop was defunct, one of the lounges closed, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel seemed like it was struggling to keep afloat.”

  • The pillow-top bed was very comfortable.
  • It is a bit far from Downtown Denver.

“I wish I had time to play a round of golf. Having the clubhouse in the hotel was tempting. The spa packages are a decent price compared with other hotel spa pricing. The breakfast buffet was enjoyable--worth the price. The bed we slept in was the softest I've been in for a long time. The location is rather far south of Denver (about a 20 minute drive without traffic) and a bit from the airport (about 40 minutes).”

“I don't know if I don't understand ratings but this hotel didn't feel like a 4-star. It had the offerings of an upper scale hotel but the facility and staff seemed lacking. Nothing too bad but nothing special either. I do have to say the room services were prompt and friendly and food good.”

  • The dining was excellent, the staff was over accommodating, and the golf and spas are fantastic!
  • I called to have a new coffee pot delivered and ended up having to call a second time when no one showed after 40 min.

“Conveniently located in the Denver Tech Center this Hotel had excellent accommodations for Golf, Dinning, and Spa activities. The course is in fantastic shape and the weekend buffets (Sat night seafood & Sunday morning Brunch) are to die for.”

  • The staff was all friendly, sincere, and helpful, from maids to desk to concierge and restaurant staffs.
  • Fireside Lounge pianist was not very good. I am a professional pianist and this fellow did not belong in this room.

“The lobby was palatial and comfortable; all personnel were friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed the limo to and from the airport, and appreciated all the concierge services. Each restaurant was fine in its own way and it was great not to have to leave the premises to eat, all levels of cuisine were right there. The in-house spa and pools were a luxury. There was nothing that was not comfortable and easy.”

  • The staff was all extremely helpful and accommodating.
  • The carpet in the room appeared a little older and more worn than the other furnishings.

“Having read the small print, we weren't surprised by the $10 fee for the extras and felt it was worth paying. Our room was very nice and cleans with probably the most comfortable bedding of any hotel we've ever stayed in. We enjoyed the pool and Sunday brunch was absolutely the most amazing I think we've ever eaten. The staff was terrific!”

“This is a very nice hotel, location is great, grounds are beautiful (overlooking golf course), room size and appointments are well done, bedding is very comfortable, and staff is friendly! They will suddenly have to move you (maintenance requirements for your first room) from your room overlooking the golf course to one on the parking lot side of the hotel, next to the housekeeping facility (can you say early wake up?) or the ice machine! Overall an excellent experience, in spite of the move issue. Will definitely stay there again.”

  • This hotel is upscale yet also family friendly.
  • The resort fee for services we would never use.

“This is the second year we have stayed at this hotel on our anniversary. The first year we went without the kids and it was a very romantic atmosphere. This year we took the kids and found the hotel to be very kid friendly also. I would highly recommend this hotel to couples or families!”

  • Nothing was welcoming there -- staff or surroundings.

“Unattractive from the outside, the Inverness presented a miniscule room with a closet-sized bathroom -- no tub, just 2' x 2' stand-up shower. The Clerk made a point of publicly announcing the keys to the "standard room we booked online." They charged us $10 (non-negotiable) for services we did not use or receive, including WIFI and newspaper. Their staff is accommodating to a fault, and then they upgraded us to a suite because they weren't full (this is the third time they've done this for us) and gave us some drink comps for their bar just to be nice. That's the kind of service that makes you want to come back. What I'm saying is that we were so upset at the way The Inverness presented itself; we didn't even stay there even though our room was already paid for. This hotel was so full of itself, it forgot what was important -- the satisfaction of its customers. We were celebrating two big events in our family and could have spent a lot of money in their lounge and restaurant, but we were so put off by their service -- from valet staff to desk staff -- we didn't spend a dime there. The Inverness was completely disappointing -- overpriced, pretentious and even the unpleasant odor of sage burning in the lobby couldn't provide a new-age fix to this old -- and forgettable -- property.”

  • The water in the shower fluctuated multiple times between scalding and cool. The room was near a service entrance and was noisy each morning.

  • Room was a cracker jack box and uncomfortable.

“This was not a 4-star hotel. The room was extremely small and I couldn't believe how small the bathroom was. When you open the door to the bathroom it immediately hit the toilet; it was horrible. The pillows were too soft and my back hurt the next morning. Even though they advertise free internet they charged an extra $30 for services we didn't even use (internet and valet parking). I will never stay at this hotel again and once again - this is not a 4-star hotel!”

“When we arrived the lady at the desk tried to jab us for 9.99 additional charges per night for valet parking, swimming pool and incidental charges. I refused to pay the additional charges because we park ourselves, we didn't use the pool. Then they wanted to split the incidental charges for the two nights we stayed there. I said just refund our money and we would go somewhere else. They refused. They did, they went ahead and not charge us for the two nights of 9.99 extra incidental charges. Then to top it all off, there was probably only 20% of the motel full, you could tell by the cars in the parking lot. They stuck us in a room the size of a large closet with a queen size bed instead of a king size bed. Second they should treat you like they want you to come back. I will never stay there again.”

“The hotel is an older, rustic style hotel overlooking the hotel golf course and good views of the mountains. The area around the hotel has since been commercialized, creating an oasis among a business area (both good and bad); hotel rooms often overlook the business areas.”

  • The grounds were large and well kept. The staff was very friendly. The pool areas were very well kept and clean.
  • There are no restaurants (other than the hotel ones) or stores within walking distance.

“No shops nearby, but because of this the hotel is very quiet and peaceful. The large atrium is inviting and there is plenty of area to walk around whether it is the golf course area or paths around the hotel. The rooms are nice and the beds super comfortable. Free internet at a hotel of this star level is very welcome. The indoor pool is open 24 hours which is great! Free parking is also a plus.”

“It's the only place we want to stay in Denver from now on. My young children loved the pools and the many onsite restaurants where wonderful! As for the gym, I wish I could use it everyday! The location could not be better. We've stayed in many 5 star hotels and this is very close or, in some cases, comparable to those. It would be great for couples with or without children and for business travelers.”
