• Nothing.
• They were doing a lot of renovation and it was horrible. I stunk like paint and I was very upset. I was in Denver to have spinal surgery.

• Remodeled room was very nice and three stars.
• The rest of the hotel was trashed during the remodel--elevator seemed unsafe...construction mess everywhere.

“This would be a great hotel for a business traveler. The type of people this hotel will cater to. It is a torn up mess right now (August 2006) The remodeled room was nice...but I was concerned for my young children's safety as we walked through the construction areas. I'm sure this will be a 3 star hotel when it's done...but right now it has a 1 1/2 star feel to it.”

• The newly renovated rooms.
• Both sink and tub were clogged. Asked staff to clear drains, but they never did. It was pretty disgusting.

“The hotel is giving great discounts during renovations, which don't really effect its guests. The hotel is conveniently located right off I-25 and the rooms are spacious and nicely decorated; however, I was disappointed that after telling the staff twice that both bathroom drains were backed up, they never cleared them. For three days, I was showering in a foot of water. Yuk!”

“I was happy with the location which it made it easy access for us to continue our trip the next morning. However, there was nothing about the hotel that was convenient with such severe renovation going on. ”

• Under renovation and should not be accepting guests.
• The smell, dust, phone did not work, staff snotty.

“Room itself was newly remodeled and ok. Halls and elevator smelled of paint, drywall, new carpet glue and dust. Did not find out until we were trying to check out that the phone did not work. Parking and getting around grounds difficult with the remodel. No restaurant, pool on site, no ice maker on our floor and we were requested to park in a distant lot even though the lot next to our room was not closed. I would avoid this hotel until remodeled.”

“Central to downtown attractions, right off I25 but quiet, nice continental breakfast, newly remodeled rooms. Will be nice once inside pool and fitness center remodeled.”

• Quieter area of Denver but convenient to interstate.
• Room carpet soaked after showers, maid delivered crusty burned coffee pot, front desk grouchy liars.

“The in-room coffee pot was burned and crusty. Brought to front desk, maid brought it back to us. Bath tub backed up. Maintenance came twice, unable to clear. Asked for other room. Front desk offered room next door. I asked for another room in case drains were linked. Same clerk later told my wife that I insisted on having the room next door. New room had bath towels only, had to ask for wash cloths. Crib delivered to room was broken. Had to wait an hour to get a replacement. On previous visit to the same hotel one week earlier, the bath had no hot water. Also, the under sink drain pipe was missing, which caused a minor flood and led to a room change. Hotel pool and restaurant both closed. Continental breakfast offered - rolls and cereal, the latter served in pudding cups. This is a good place to stay IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO DO EXCEPT VISIT AND CALL THE FRONT DESK.”

“Our room was very nice and cleaned well everyday of our stay. The outdoor pool is small but we were about the only ones who used it, it was also cold. The hotel is under MAJOR renovation. Its proximity to Arapahoes Rd. was very convenient.”

“Good location, in tech center, poor breakfast buffet. Little variety, no bread for toast, only synthetic blueberry bagels, muffins, Lots of construction going on. Elevators filthy. Overall, a fair experience at best.”

“There was some refurbishing going on, but my room was newly done and beautiful, as well as comfortable. The hotel said they where going to be a Doubletree. I would stay here again.”

• The new rooms were very nicely done.
• The staff and the access to the room were terrible!

“This hotel is under renovation and the rooms have been re-done but the rest of the hotel is torn up. There was one computer and printer in the "business center". There was no exercise facility. The staff were stressed out and not very friendly. They kept my credit card the first night; I had to have my key re-coded every night I was there (3 times, and even after asking them to make sure to code it correctly the first night), which was a hassle given the location of the room from the front desk and the parking; the lock on the adjoining room door did not work, and the housekeeping staff was knocking on the door at 8:30 am and kept knocking until I finally answered in my towel (after getting out of the bathtub). For the same money I have stayed at 4 star hotels in Denver that were impeccable, and this hotel should not be part of the regular available hotels for the same prices! Please pass this on to the hotel manager!”

“While the room was fine and the service good I did not sign up to stay at a hotel that was undergoing a complete remodel. We were directed to the room.. but some sign age would have been helpful. We only found the unmarked elevator with the help of a construction worker. ”

• The water for the shower was warm.
• No pillow cases on pillows; only stairs to climb to get into hotel; wake up call did not come; front staff NOT HELPFUL; telephone DID NOT WORK; etc.

“I had a terrible stay at this hotel. I understand that they are going through a renovation, but there were MANY things the hotel staff could have fixed or helped with during my stay. For one thing, there is no access to the hotel's main lobby other than pulling your luggage up stairs. NO RAMP OR ELEVATOR. There was NO OFFER TO TAKE MY LUGGAGE TO MY CAR OR RETREIVE MY CAR FOR ME. Completely unacceptable. On top of that- there were no pillow cases on the pillows and the telephone did not work. Once I got a maintenance man up to the room to fix it, I ordered a wake up call that never came in the morning. UNACCECPTABLE, especially when I had to catch a plane first thing. Luckily I also set my alarm clock. Overall, my stay was very frustrating, and I would say that my offer of $40 was TOO MUCH for this hotel. It was terrible.”

• Rooms were all renovated; King rooms were a great size.
• Hotel staff (with the manager being the exception) was not helpful/not well trained.

“Most of the hotel amenities were under renovation (indoor pool, restaurant/bar, several guest floors) and were closed. Room service was available, but limited. Hotel staff was not cooperative/knowledgeable about securing the type of room we wanted until we checked in... it took an extended conversation with the manager to secure a king room instead of a room with two doubles. Several conferences/concerts that utilized the hotel made one night pretty loud. It would be a better stay when the renovation was completed, but I would have like the option to have withdrawn my reservation on account of the renovation... it definitely was not a three-star hotel at the time of our stay.”

• The hotel was being renovated, I would have liked to have known that before, it may have rated 3 stars before renovation and after but not during.

“I would not recommend this hotel, and am very dissatisfied about my stay. Especially the rating that the hotel received. It was a 3 star but not during the renovations. The hotel staff didn't even apologize for the inconvenience of having to walk around the outside of the hotel to get to my room.”

• Too much construction noise, nothing to offer besides room.

“While the room itself was fine, I was very disappointed in the hotel. The reason I got a good deal was because the hotel is undergoing significant remodeling. It was supposed to be a 3 star hotel but every part of the hotel was under construction except for the room itself. We bought the room in order to have a place to nap during the day while our daughter was hospitalized for back surgery. It was impossible to nap because of the construction noise. Therefore, we were unable to use the room as we intended. This time I think it was very deceptive to include this hotel. If we have been searching for a room for leisure purposes we would have been quite angry. The hotel has 2 pools but neither was available for use, there was no restaurant and the rooms had poor TV reception. This is unacceptable in my mind. Your examples of a 3 star included the Sheraton, Courtyard Marriott, etc. This hotel is nowhere near this standard in its current form. the remodeling is complete so that further customers are not deceived in their purchase.”

“The renovation makes some areas hard to negotiate and somewhat messy. The renovated rooms, however, are beautiful and indicative of an upscale hotel. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and quiet.”

“I really thought b/c of its location that the hotel would be nice but it was a very old hotel that was in the process of being remodeled. The elevator was scary and we had to walk a long way to our room. The swimming pool was also closed and the continental breakfast literally consisted of a bagel and a cereal. I would NEVER stay there again even when they complete the hotel remodel b/c I have such strong memories of it...ugh!”

• It looks like the hotel will be very nice when the construction is finished.
• We were not prepared for the level of mess and construction. Two floors were totally closed and the elevator was shrouded in plastic.

“I think the hotel will be very nice when finished. Our entrance was covered in plastic and dust. The elevator was very rickety. 2-3 floors totally closed for renovation.”

• The bed was very comfortable and the room was beautifully renovated.
• The hotel was a little difficult to find and they were renovating the hotel so there was construction mess.

“The hotel was under renovation, but the part that has been completed is very nice. Since they were under construction, there was a free continental breakfast that was good. Our room was beautifully decorated and the bed was one of the most comfortable that we have slept on.”

“No pool, no restaurant, and they put us in the wing that you had to walk into the construction area to get to the furthest away room that was accessed from the available parking. No directions offered until I asked where to locate my room, and park my car. I would expect this if it were busy or late but the hotel was virtually abandon when we got there.”

“The lobby and fourth floor rooms are completed. All other parts of the hotel are under renovation. First 3 floors of rooms are gutted. The atrium area is off limits and under construction. No pools, no restaurant. No amenities. Only your room and the front lobby are accessible. If you want to stay at a construction site with the accompanying sounds of jack hammers and mailers, this is the place for you! Ah, the smell of sheet rock dust! Peeking through plastic sheeting to steal a glance at off limit construction areas was fun!”

“The staff was not very friendly. I've stayed at this Hotel twice. I would say it is my LEAST favorite. I informed the front desk I might need a late check out, by 20 minutes because of a meeting I was attending. I was not late leaving. However, the staff seemed cold and treated me as though I was not as important. From the moment we arrived the staff just was not as friendly or helpful as in other hotels in which I stay. I was very disappointed this time.”
