• It was a happy place to be and romantic.
• No coffee pot in the room.

“We really enjoyed our stay. The room was a bit small but very comfortable and beautiful. There is a one hour wine reception and free chair massages in the early evening. It is a dog friendly hotel. If you or your children don't like dogs it's not the place to be. I am allergic to dogs but the hotel was so clean that I never felt anything. We will return!”

• The windows didn't open. Felt stuffy and claustrophobic.

“Our suite wasn't ready when we arrived. We were thankful that we were hungry so that we could kill the hour or so before our room was ready. The windows in our room didn't open creating a stuffy, closed in feeling. There was no balcony of any kind in our suite or anywhere for that matter. I won't stay there again.”

• The rooms were smaller than I expected and the bathrooms was not a four star bathroom.

“Great hotel with attractive and different decorating. The rooms were attractive but smaller, and the bathrooms were almost the same as any Holiday Inn you would stay at.”

• The room and lobby decor were very attractive.
• Few amenities, unfriendly staff.

“I am surprised this is a 4-star hotel. It provides few amenities and the staff was rude. When we checked in, the desk attendant rushed through; she didn't tell us our room number or how to get to the elevators. When I asked about a restaurant menu, she said she didn't have one-maybe there's one in our room. There wasn't one in our room. The complimentary soap was cheap and harsh and the for sale items were ridiculously over-priced. I've paid less for an in-room soda at The Broad moor! The room was very hot and stuffy, and there were only a few available television channels. Finally, our room was over the alley and at 5:00 in the morning we were awakened by delivery trucks. The cleaning staff should be complimented, however, our room was spotless.”

• Great service and full amenities.
• There is no self park. Valet is available for $25 a night but has in/out privileges.

“Wonderfully appointed and great restaurant. The interior decoration is unique and colorful. Staff is extremely courteous and helpful every night there is also a wine sampling. Mornings there is complimentary coffee and tea.”

“Me and my hunny bunny truly enjoyed our stay and so did our 9 year old chocolate Labrador. Great doggie treats upon our arrival made it a smooth transition from car to room to a walk around the hotel.”

• Not excited about the number of dogs.

• The amenities in the bath room were nice, such as coffee, etc.
• There were feces in the toilet when we check in our room. Telephone did not work. One lamp did not have bulb.

“Lamps need fixture repairs. Telephone did not work. The valet parking was a big surprise, especially the $25 fee. There were feces in the toilet when we checked in as well.”

• Room Service. Breakfast was average.

“The hotel Monaco runs very efficiently. Staff is courteous and very helpful. Nice rooms that are decorated beautifully. Great location in the heart of downtown Denver. Animal print robe was a nice touch. My room did not have much of a view, but for the price I paid, I did not expect one. They allow dogs which seemed to please guests with dogs.”

• We loved the cocktail hour and lobby area. It was very conducive to meeting other people who were staying at the hotel.

“The bedsheets at the Hotel Monaco were sumptuous and of high quality. The hotel was conveniently located close to the 16th street mall and within minutes of many great restaurants. It was a great one night get away for my husband and I.”

• Loved the lobby and the proximity to 16th street mall, hotel staff very friend.
• I love dogs so this might sound terrible, but there were too many of them in this kind of hotel. I think motels are better suited.

“Very nice space. Wonderful bedding, great notions for sale, nice staff, very romantic, convenient. Only drawback was the very open policy of too many dogs. They were everywhere. I am a dog owner, so I am not sure that this fair. Having brought pets into rooms myself. I think there were too many in a space not well suited.”

• The staff were so helpful and courteous and it was just gorgeous.
• Honestly, nothing was wrong.

“This hotel was by far the nicest and most elegant hotel we have stayed at. The rooms are done so tastefully, the beds are oh so comfortable and I would stay there again in a heartbeat. We definitely have walked away with wonderful memories from having such an enjoyable stay at such an elegant hotel.”

• I really enjoyed the decor of this hotel. The staff was very polite and friendly.
• I thought that the restaurant and the room service should have been open even though it was a holiday. Hotels get their most business on holidays.

“Overall I thought that the hotel was great. It was very quiet and peaceful. Shopping and entertainment were very convenient. The staff was also very friendly and attentative to our needs. The only thing that I didn't like was the parking situation.”

• It didn't have the feeling of a chain hotel like Marriott
• There was only one person on staff when we arrived

“Great quality in a non-chain-hotel atmosphere - though not as quirky as the other Monaco locations like in San Francisco etc - which was too bad. But overall a great stay.”

“If you are looking for a Boutique Hotel in the heart of downtown Denver, The Hotel Monaco has it all. 1 block off the 16th street mall. Bus ride to the Pepsi center. The Hotel itself was fabulous, the staff was very friendly, always a welcoming smile. Piping hot cookies and dog bones at the front desk. The rooms were very large and beautifully decorated.”

“This Hotel appeared to be an older unit, but had it own uniqueness to it. Located in downtown Denver. The view from the rooms was spectacular. The beds were the best I have ever slept on. Clean and happy hour Altitude Adjustment" was fun. The staff was very helpful."”

“We found the Hotel Monaco to be very unique and pleasant. The staff were all very accommodating in answering our questions about the Denver Downtown area. Evening happy hour and coffee in the morning were a pleasant bonus. I would definitely stay there again!”

“This hotel went above and beyond my expectations. It was furnished well, the bedding was great and the staff went out of their way to help with directions and to greet us by name whenever possible, this gave me the feeling that they knew who we were not just nameless people there for the night. They also provided Aveda bath products to use in the shower and if you wanted you could order any one of their specialty baths that they would come and draw up for you. When we returned to our room after an evening of shopping the beds had been turned down and little chocolate fishes were left there with a card that told us what the weather would be like the next day. One other very nice feature was that they served Starbucks coffee in the lobby every morning. They also have a wine and appetizer social in the lobby from 5 to 6 pm every evening, we missed this because we were out shopping. At 3 a.m. my daughter woke up with leg cramps that required advil, the staff in the lobby went out of their way to find some so that I would not need to go to the Walgreens down the street. This hotel lives up to their website, and their 4 start rating. I am planning to go back there with my spouse one weekend just for fun. Oh and fyi, they are very pet friendly at this place if you travel with your animals.”

“The Hotel Monaco was a wonderful spot for us for two nights in Denver, Colorado. The staff was great. The rooms were bold in color but we all enjoyed that. The quality of the furnishings and fixtures was very nice. The location seemed excellent and the restaurant (Panzano's) was quite good. We'd definitely return to Hotel Monaco/Denver.”
