• Had to pay extra to rent DVD player; some fixtures/tiles/etc were run down/cracked/splitting/etc.

“For the budget conscious and family travelers, this is a great place to stay. Kids seemed to really enjoy it! Otherwise, the dining was decent more like a decent pizza place. Nothing spectacular in terms of food. Not a perfect/new appearance in terms of the room and fixtures, somewhere between 2.5-3 stars.”

• Staff was great, I asked to check in early and they made sure that it happened. Excellent customer service.
• Room was cold, the heat was turned off when we arrived which is fine, but the room did not ever warm up.

“This was a great value due to the fact that all we did was sleep here. If you are looking for a hotel that fulfills a lot of needs, probably not a great fit. If you are going to be out all day and just need a place to shower and lay your head down this is the perfect place. Staff was as friendly and helpful as a 5 star staff.”

• Pleasant surroundings, fresh paint and remodeling and good looking inside and out.
• I enjoyed the hotel.

“This was a great spot. An environmentally friendly and practical place for a short stay, with a good view of the flatirons. The location is good, with shopping and entertainment nearby, as well as easy access to and from the airport.”

“This hotel was nice enough but aging. We didnt figure out the air conditioning but fortunately it was a relatively cool night. It was conveniently located near our point of interest.”

“This was an older hotel that was not particularly clean right by the freeway. If you are going to have a business where you lock people in to a commitment then you should do your homework and find out what these hotels are really like.”

“Hotel had a permanent resident living below my room #401. Permanent resident had lots of drunken men in the lawn all day drinking beer and lighting off fireworks on the hotel property. Room was noisy with lots of road noise. Musty, Musty, Musty.”

• Friendly staff. Good restaurant on the premises.
• Complimentary breakfast lacked choices. I'm not a fan of outside hallways.

“We were greeted by friendly staff who checked us in promptly even though we arrived in the morning way before 3 pm check in time. I don't care for outdoor hallways at hotels, but we were given a second floor room. The hotel is very colorful and environmental friendly. The pool area looked nice even though we did not use it. The on site restaurant is very good other than the complimentary breakfast, which lacks much variety. We had a pleasant stay.”

• The staff was very friendly; nice hotel for the money.
• It could be very noisy in the rooms overlooking the pool area.

“The hotel is conveniently located on one of the main streets of Boulder, but ask for driving directions! If you try to find it on the 28th Street itself (its official address), you won't succeed, you need to take a special driveway along the street. This is a regular motel-style hotel, and it's not really new. The pool area is really big, and they have a hot tub. The staff was really friendly, and when it was extremely noisy in the room where I stayed the first night, they offered to give me more quiet room. Generally it's a nice hotel for the price.”

• We liked the bath supplies, and lotions, the bed was very comfortable.
• No elevator.

“The colors were very bold and bright, we prefer more subdued colors, however the clerk was very kind and helpful. The room was decent size. The bed was comfortable.”

• Nice staff. Good location.
• Not a 3-star hotel. Discarded food sat in one hall for hours. Interior rooms looked depressing w/little privacy.

• Lots of amenities and very comfortable, free coffee, free newspapers, great people.
• Could use some fresh paint and updating, but overall an excellent experience.

“At first glance, the hotel looked a little "seedy" to us but it was a great experience, we will stay there again. The people were awesome and accommodating. My husband had to conduct business (conference calls) but the room had everything he needed from high speed internet to a big desk and comfy chair. OK, this is not the Ritz, but the nice breakfast and newspapers made us feel very comfortable and right at home. It is a little quirky, be down to earth and clean. ”

“Friendly staff, unique hotel ... for the price, much better then the vanilla hotels in the price range. Don't expect a lot with the rooms though. My room had a nice remodeled bathroom, the other parts were a bit dated and the walls are thin. There is only so much that can be done to a 1962 style hotel/motel. I would stay there again though.”

• It's a motel, not a 3 star hotel. HAd no soap and Appliances (TV, hairdrier) in bad shape.

“It is actually a motel. The room door opens into the parking lot.The TV was broken, (very bad reception), the hair drier was in bad shape, room had no soap,so I went to the front desk to pick it up. ( To be fair, they did give a high quality soap, the front desk staff was very friendly).The pictures make it look much better than it actually is. Although on paper it has all the facilities that may qualify it to be a 3 star hotel (sauna, a small gym (not maitained well), an onsite restaurant etc, it is more liek a budget hotel or a motel. Nothing wrong with that , except I have lot higher expectations from a 3 star hotel. ( As a comparison : a full service marriott is typically a 3 star resturant. )”

• The room smelled bad. They do not shampoo the floor very often or change the bedspreads.

“It was the lowest grade 3 star hotel I've ever stayed at. I was put in a smoking room which is fine I am a smoker. I guess they don't put cleanliness as a priority on their smoking rooms?”

• This was NOT a 3 Star Hotel. Maybe a 2 Star Motel with a good pool.

“This is a renovated motel on the highway. And that's all. Definitely NOT a 3 Star Hotel. The first night the room temperature was 87 degrees inside the room. It was so bad that we had to change rooms in the middle of the night. Hated the place!”

• Parking could stand some expansion on certain days (we stayed eight days).

• I liked the concept for this hotel which is to provide high levels of service for a reaonable price.
• The location was unattractive, the beds were terrible and the renovations were not entirely successful

“This hotel is a former Holiday Inn & changed hands several times before becoming the Outlook. I believe that it had been slated for demolition prior to it's purchase by the current management group. It was rennovated within the last several years & while certain areas were very attractive, the rooms were not entirely successful. The mattresses were clearly cheap and uncomfortable. The AC was incredibly loud. The appointments are inconsistent. Some seem worn and some seemed nice. The rooms had clearly been much worse at one point and the rennovations do not completely disguise it's former shabbiness. It gives the rooms a definite motel feel. Some of the rooms do not have inside entrances and the interior entrance rooms all face directly onto the swimming pool and lounge area. This is very noisy until the pool closes and the nearness of the pool increases the humidity level in the rooms, thus necessitating turning the temperature way down on the (incredibly loud) AC and causing it to run that much more frequently. The staff were very helpful and nice, but there wasn't anything that could be done to salvage our stay.”

• Excellent service at the front desk. Pleasant environment in general.
• It was a serious problem to me that the promised internet access did not materialize. Their tech had no knowledge of Macintosh.

“The bed was extremely comfortable, the front desk personnel friendly, calm & helpful.I requested that linens not be changed to conserve water, a practice I had seen in another Colorado hotel. It was not honored at all at first, then partially honored.
See above note on internet access. The tech was very available, just couldn't help. (Macintosh in my part of the world is close to 50% of the laptops.)”

• Room wouldn't get warm for hours the first night and then fine

“Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Boulder Outlook. The quality of the amenities and especially the complimentary continental breakfast made this a great value at the price we bid. If you need or want to be in the immediate Boulder area, the location of this property is superior. The staff of the hotel was especially accomodating and made our stay enjoyable.”

• They washed the floor 3times in just a couple of hours. Not necessarily a bad thing but I almost slipped.

“The best deal for the price. Very family oriented which is not what I was looking for, but a great deal none the less. I would strongly reccomend it. The front desk could have been a little bit nicer.”

“Terrible experience. Hotel had failed to process my reservation when the fax came in -- the clerk had to root around for 10-15 minutes to find the fax at 2am. This hotel has an indoor pool in the middle of the property; the whole place reeks of chlorine. The pool is not in a separate area -- any room that opens onto that courtyard is subject to the noises of running, yelling, and splashing around the pool. What a terrible design! My room was next to one of the side entrances; the push-bar door on that exit had no silencing on it at all. Slam. Slam. Slam. What a terrible design! Bed in the room was OK, but carpet was very thin and furnishings were cheap.If I were generous, I'd give this hotel 1.5 stars. 2 stars would be an extreme stretch. ”

“Small hotel/motel. I don't understand how it received a two star rating. Worst continental breakfast that we have ever been offered. Motel staff was hard to find. Rooms were very small, hard for even two people to get around, terrible set up.”
