“Do not stay at this resort unless you have a ton of money to throw away on the resort fee. They charge $14.50/night/adult for use of parking, pool, and other activities like crochet on the front lawn? We didn't even have a car, but still have to spend almost $100 extra for the resort fees. For some reason, the hot tub is situated in a little adobe cave that is filled with warning signs and no lifeguard, not very peaceful. The location is beautiful (in the middle of the mountains) but overall this place is not worth the fee money.” Sep 3, 2007 by

“Terrible food. Surly, inexperienced service staff (when you can find them). Hot water either off or at a minimum. Billing mistakes. Inconvenient parking. This place stinks (literally. our room smelled of mildew and must). Avoid this hotel at your peril. And by all means, do not book far in advance. They might be out of business by the time you arrive. If we weren't with a wedding group, we would have checked out.” Oct 6, 2005 by

“Bishops Lodge is not a hotel. It is a resort with spa, hiking and horseback riding, etc. and charges a resort fee of $29.00 a day.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Apr 29, 2005 by

“This is a charming and historic old lodge in a beautiful setting just outside Santa Fe. The rooms (we had a junior suite) were tasteful and of a 1940s-style elegance. Most importantly, the staff, especially Nicole at the front desk, went out of their way to make us feel welcomed, catered to and important. ” Apr 25, 2005 by

“The location and atmosphere of the lodge is wonderful. The room was spacious.I would not reccomend using the horseriding facilities though..Go down to Cerrilus and use The Broken Saddle riding stables..much better price and horses are treated better. Many better resaurants downtown for the price.” Apr 18, 2005 by

“They tried to add $15/day on to my bill for "resort Charges" and did not do so (I hope) only after repeated protests on my part.” Apr 9, 2005 by

“Great place to stay and do recommend it. We were there three days and really had fun.” Apr 6, 2005 by

“Nice vacation resort.” Mar 19, 2005 by

“Hotel was nice. Very scenic. They try to charge you for every little thing, however. If you take a water from the fridge, be prepared to pay $4.50! They also try to hit you with a daily $25 "resort fee" not mentioned.” Mar 14, 2005 by
Sam from El Paso, TX
“This hotel is located about three miles from the city making it a pleasant, quiet, peaceful stay. Be sure to ask the hotel staff about the resort fee. We had to pay an additional $25.00 per room and was not informed about this until we checked out of the room.” Dec 22, 2004 by
Jay M. from Farmington “Great hotel. Very pleased. Nice accommodations. Heater was not working properly making it a little chilly and the hot water was running a little cool for comfort. Other than that, we loved the hotel and the staff.” Dec 17, 2004 by
Thomas G. from Monument “I bid $70/night for this room and, upon arrival, found that we were in a 'resort' and would be charged an additional $25/night for the spa facilities. I wouldn't have stayed here had I know that the price was going to be $95/night. Also, this hotel was supposed to be in downtown Santa Fe, but it actually was OUTSIDE the city limits! We were VERY disappointed in the room; it was small, very old, and drafty. Overall, we felt as though we'd been taken.” Dec 1, 2004 by
Laurence T. from Albuquerque “The hotel routinely charges a resort fee of $12.50 per person in addition to whatever you paid. The management is discussing whether to change this policy due to different seasons. Most of the resort items are spring, summer, fall types of activities.” Hotel Representatives:
