“Excluding the bar and staff, the hotel personnel were very friendly and helpful. Location is nearly perfect and the public features of the hotel are thoughtfully placed and of high quality.”

  • Great location.
  • Hidden service charges destroy the concept.

“Nice for a remodeled hotel. Rooms kind of dark. Great location. $18 a day parking
and $12 a day Service charge. I understand the parking charge. It's in the middle of town and you don't need to bring a car. But the service charge destroys the concept. What's the sense of blind bidding for a hotel with hidden charges?”

  • Lighting was awful. $16.00 charge for parking when across the square at a nicer hotel; no charge for parking.

“I wasn't impressed. People nice but room ordinary. Lighting terrible. No vanity mirror in bathroom. Unable to get hot water in sink. Not much hot water in bath. I usually stay a block away at a place with lots of amenities. Free parking, breakfast included, extremely well-appointed rooms.”

  • Location was excellent.
  • The room had a funky odor. With no windows.

“In an effort to mimick the pueblo style of architecture, the rooms have no windows. Albeit, there is access to a semi-private balcony through a a very narrow French door. Furthermore, the rooms are painted dark colors (deep brick red with black highlights). This looks artistic, but the overall effect is to make the interior of room feel seriously claustrophobic, like a fancy jail cell. For a 4-star hotel the rooms are relatively small. As a consequence we could not wait to get out of the room each day.”

  • Good location, nice southwest room decor.
  • Extra charge for pool, fitness center, newspaper, WiFi, even if not used.

“Overall, the Inn at Loreto is a nice place to stay, convenient to the Plaza. Rooms are in good shape, clean, although the bathroom is a bit dated. Thought the hotel services fee was unnecessary, why not just include WiFi, fitness center, etc in the cost of the hotel, rather than charging even if you don't use any of them. Restaurant we found to be good, but a bit high priced for breakfast, but you'll pay that at all the nicer hotels in Santa Fe. Overall, a good value.”

The valet attendants were very sluggish to greet us, but the front desk attendants were wonderful and very helpful. Our room was on the small side but nice and efficient for our needs. The beds were heaven; the mattress, pillows and comforter were down. My husband and I agreed it was the best nights sleep we ever had.”

“Great location but not good for kids. Bartender was a robotron; pool was cold and no hot tub. Elevator music piped everywhere but so low that it was only annoying. Comforters on the bed sounded like crinkling paper bags every time someone move and the noise kept us up all night. Breakfast was only meal we ate there and it was so-so. Tea more expensive than coffee! The hotel was, in a word, boring!”

  • Its location.
  • Its fees for parking $26/day.

“The hotel is uniquely south-western, very convenient for the town, and great local restaurants and sights. Its a nice change from the chains. The hotel has some pricey elements - the restaurant was and parking are extreme - but there are plenty of convenient outside of hotel alternatives for both. The local restaurants are fantastic - I'd recommend the Pink Adobe for special occasion - or Guadalajara Cafe for a casual dining experience - both are within 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel and town are a great option for a short romantic getaway weekend.”

“This is a charming hotel near the center square of old Santa Fe. The staff is eager to help, but they are under major construction and redecorating which gives them little flexibility in dealing with room problems.”

  • Cramped room for this price level. Bad lighting.

“Although warned about this, we were appalled about the additional $10 per day for "maid service; spa and other incidentals" (the spa services would have been additional, anyway). Excellent location, terrific staff, very comfortable mattresses. Cramped room; badly designed lighting. Cost (even for Santa Fe) outrageous. Also $16 per day extra for (convenient) Valet parking. All in all, a good experience, but overpriced.”

  • Recently redone rooms were beautiful, attention to detail in towels, linens, etc.
  • Surprised by unadvertised added charges that most hotels would include in price.

“It was an absolutely wonderful room, super convenient location and above and beyond many Santa Fe hotels. I was shocked to arrive and be charged not only a $16 fee for parking (really OK), but a $10 per day fee for internet service, pool use (it was near freezing weather) and the exercise room. These are frankly included in every hotel I have ever stayed at (high and lower end). The clerk volunteered it also included housekeeping gratuity, but when I asked for specifics so I would know what I needed to leave, I was told "just some of it" was included(?) Also received in writing that I would get a paper on weekdays, but be credited $0.75 for each day I declined. I declined, did not receive a paper, but was not credited. Would have made this my 1 hotel in Santa Fe except for deceptive charging policies. I don't like to see this in a hotel.”

“Authenic Santa Fe. Great location. Staff went out off their way to be helpful. Restaurant's food was very tasty! My complaint is that Santa Fe is way overpriced for the facilities you pay for. Room was clean, but tiny and drafty it is a historicsite! So, if authenic is your concern, its great! If price:quality is your concern, poor.”

  • Good location for downtown Santa fee, one experience with room service was good.
  • Parking fees no comp internet, dingy room, not much personality.

“When a Hampton inn offers good beds and updated facilities, free hi-speed, cheapie free breakfast, and generally good service, I wonder what Im getting for twice the cost at a place like this. The inn looks nice from the outside, but we found the entry area to be dark and lacking any personality and the rooms seemed dated. A mix of the southwestern theme and cheap tiles or fixtures. A 13 inch TV in the room and a shower that looked like it was stolen from a holiday inn. The bed was comfortable and room service was prompt and good food, but not cheap. Location is great for some of the more touristy fare of old Santa Fe. Overall, not bad, but Id take my chances elsewhere before returning a second time.”
