• Outdoor pool was so shaded by the concrete wall that it received no sun.

“Hotel was farther from Downtown Santa Fe than I liked. We couldn't park near our room because of the layout of the buildings/pool. Outdoor pool was in a poor location (received very little sun). Rooms were very nice & clean, with WiFi available (in room hi-speed also avail). Staff was friendly enough.”

• Construction - noisy, pool closed.

“I have actually chosen La Quinta in Santa Fe before. It is in a safe area of town and for the money provides a nice room with all the amenities. It is quiet and clean and whenever I have had a problem, it is fixed within an hour. Nothing fancy but a very pleasant stay. The Flying Tortilla next door has some of the best Chile Rellenos in town!”

• Location great--by a mall! Quiet room -clean-not fancy but adequate.
• No problems or negative comments to tell.

“My husband watched the second half of the bronco's game and I went to the mall--just across the parking lot. What could be better? Well, I guess the broncos could have won. It was clean, quiet and, as I said, not fancy, but plenty of room for the two of us.”

“I would pay another 10 or 20 dollars and go to Holiday Inn or something similar. I have stayed in Laquinta Inn before. May be this one in Santa Fe is not the best one. I do not like follow up calls regarding my assessment.”

• On a main road leading into downtown and directly to the highway leading out. Away from center of town, everything you could need was nearby.
• Liked everything.

“It was flawless, from check in to check out. The room was comfortable, the parking lot secure and well lit. The staffs were very friendly and competent. Check-in was a breeze, checkout was even faster. Free Wi-Fi in the room! Free coffee in the room. The bed was comfortable, room was comfortable, etc. It was a little expensive, but I think that was due to the fact town was full of people who came in for the Indian Market.”

• My experience at this hotel was not very good.

“The wireless internet did not work, the shower did not work, the beds were to small (doubles), and to top it off the next morning the breakfast area was so crowded we had to wait to for table and we finally sat down 25 minutes later they ran short of food. When I spoke to the front desk, while I was waiting for table for breakfast, and told them about the problems I experienced with the room they took my room number and name down. I waited for their call before I answered this survey. It was the worst experience at hotel I have ever experienced. I have stayed at la quinta's before on business, but this was the worst!”

• Hotel staff was very helpful and I felt like I got a nice room for the amount that we spent. Overall we had a great time.

“All in all we had a great time. The hotel room was very clean and I didn't have any complaints while we were there. The atmosphere surrounding the hotel was very laid back and peaceful, not a single problem. We would gladly stay at the la quintal again.”

• My original room wasn't made although housekeeping indicated it was.

“When we got back to hotel in the evening at about 6:00, one of the rooms had not been cleaned, but their housekeeping service was still there and they sent someone who did clean room and fresh towels.”

• When l had a problem it was immediately resolved.
• They forgot my wake up call.

“The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly except for the person who forgot my wake up call. When l mentioned it to the manager, Patrick, he immediately resolved the situation. I would recommend this hotel and stay there again when returning to Santa fee.”

• I did not like the fact that the pool was closed the whole time we stayed.

“This hotel has nice standard rooms, with all the usual hotel items. Our room was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. My only problem with the hotel was that the whole time we were there the pool was closed so it got a lower rating from me for that.”

“This hotel is located quite far out from the Santa Fe plaza next to the main shopping center but is on carillons road, the main commercial road leading into downtown Santa fee. It does not have its own restaurant, but does offer a better than average continental breakfast (make-your-own waffles, bagels, muffins, hard-boiled eggs, some fresh fruit, cereal, fruit juice, coffee) and there are a number of acceptable and economical but not great restaurants nearby, with more interesting (and often expensive) restaurants and shops closer to the plaza. The room and bathroom were reasonably furnished (although the decor was nothing special) and clean, but the room smelled strongly of chlorine upon check-in. Hotel staff attributed that to the ozone cleaner they use to remove smoke and restore the room to non-smoking status and the chlorine smell did go away quickly. The mattress, like those in many hotels, seemed hard. Entry to all but a very few rooms are by way of outside hallways which (during my winter visit) were cold and windy. Heat in the rooms was good and had plenty of adjustments to suit varying tastes and the room (on third of three floors) seemed quiet. TV had about a dozen of the standard broadcast and cable channels, plus hob. There were elevators and wheeled carts for moving luggage easily. Staff was very nice and accommodating. There is no computer in the lobby for guests to use routinely, but management allowed me to use their computer when the office was open to check email and print out my airline boarding pass.”

• Pipes make a lot of noise, some TV stations had loud hums at times.

“The hotel was very accommodating and the room was quite comfortable. I appreciated that during my extended stay, they left a survey to inquire of any problems within the room - there were none they could address. The shower plumbing seemed loud at times and there were problems with some of the TV stations having an occasional loud hum. The breakfast choices were great - fresh fruit, make your own waffles, bagels, oatmeal, cold cereal, etc. The location is very convenient on Cerrillos Road next to the mall and restaurants.”
