• Brian, concierge, was very helpful with getting us on our hike and river rafting excursions! Front door valet men were very helpful and friendly.
• A huge property is being built just east of the Marriott in Lions head. Not their fault, but I would rather not stay next to construction on vacation.

“Great hotel very near the base of Lions head Gondola. Friendly staff and the tram to Vail Village is just outside the front door. Nice pool and hot tub adorned by beautiful hanging basket flowers and large towels!”

• Great room with wonderful view! Close to everything in Vail!
• No self-parking garage on site so had to pay for valet.

“The hotel was wonderful! From the moment we entered the front door, until the time we left at the end of our stay the hotel staff were friendly and courteous and helped us in any way they could! Most rooms have a balcony with two chairs to sit and have a cup of coffee or just watch the sun set. The beds were extra comfortable and the bathrooms were quite nice! There is a free shuttle that runs from the hotel to Vail Village every 20 minutes. Overall, great location, wonderful amenities and excellent service!”

• Simply beautiful. The architecture really stood out around the other wonderful hotels in the area.
• Worst parking garage in history, but they are tearing it down to build another hotel.

“The hotel resembles like a chateaus and my wife found it to remind her much of Bavaria. While the parking is truly lousy (2 available floors with a single lane exit for both those arriving and those departing) the entrance to the hotel is beautiful (pretty, covered, driveway with a large revolving door) as is its lobby. The Vail bus (which travels to most places around Vail) stops right out side the entrance to the hotel.”

• The beauty of the facility, overall beauty of the area, very rustic and well kept.

• Surrounded by construction; thus very few dining options.

“This is one our favorite hotels in vial. It's a beautiful hotel that has really great off-season prices. However, until the massive construction projects that are going on all over vial are finished (sometime in 2008!), I will wait to visit again.”

• A short drive or free bus ride to Vail Village.

“This property is decorated just like all the other properties in Vail - lots of wood, stone, and very Alpine feeling. We went after busy ski season and took the bikes for fantastic road bike riding. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Cozy bar and lobby. Not the fanciest I have ever seen but very nice. Room was super clean with great views. Would go back there in a minute. ”

• It was set in a bucolic wonderland. It was the backdrop to a dream vacation.
• It was perfect. The only problem was we had to leave and go back to work!

“The location of this hotel is tremendous. It is a perfect hotel for the person(s) looking to get away from the daily grind. It offers deluxe accommodations, spa, restaurant, lounge/bar, friendly staff, clean rooms, and to top it all off it's only 150 yards away from the nearest ski lift. Beautiful views!”

“The Vail Marriott offered a well mannered and neat staff that was very friendly and helpful. They accommodated all our needs and requests. The food in the restaurant was expensive and tips add to the cost of the stay. The bed could have been more comfortable, though the linens were great. The room was very nice and well appointed.”

“The staff was excellent in this hotel! It was off season when we visited but we still had a great time. Every person was so friendly. I got a massage and it was excellent. Since I got a spa treatment, my husband was allowed to use the spa facilities (indoor pool, steam room, hot tub, etc) even though he didn't get a treatment. We plan on going back to Vail to ski this year and we will definitely stay at the same hotel.”

• It is within walking distance of many fine Ford gardens, restaurants, shops and lounges. The walk to and from them is excellent exercise.
• The room was rather small. The details were great but not much room to move.

“Marriott hotels are always quality, no matter what level of hotel within the line. This one is excellent. The property is beautiful, well kept, easy access with many amenities on site. The lounge had live entertainment each night. The pools and spas were wonderful.”

• Hotel air conditioning equipment located immediately outside the room. Balcony overlooked. Not attractive. Eye-sore.

“Its hard to believe Vail in the winter time could be beat, but the summer time did it. Spectacular views of the mountains from your window draw you into the town below loaded with great restaurants and endless things to do. A very aromatic getaway.”

• While there was plenty of toilet paper, there was only one box of tissue and it had only a few sheets of tissue. Why not extra boxes of tissue too?

• No breakfast provided, and parking structure filled up.

“While generally comfortable, this hotel has room for improvement. The staff at the front desk did not warn us that the parking structure might fill up, and what to do in that case. The guests next door were noisy (with small children). A better map was needed to navigate around the hotel itself. The staff gave poor directions for circumventing nearby construction.”

• Nice sheets, guest service tried to compensate for poor experience.
• Fire alarm went off, housekeeping too early, restaurant so-so, air conditioning unbearable, shower flooded bathroom floor.

“I did not expect constant air conditioning (so dry the two of us both had bloody noses in the morning), housekeeping at 9 a.m. after a fire alarm (false alarm) at 2 a.m., charges for local calls and in-room coffee, snotty/lackadaisical teenage concierge, crazy service (understaffed) for breakfast in restaurant with average food, and a shower that flooded the bathroom floor - with no extra tissues in the room and not enough hooks or towel bars in the bathroom. Altogether one of my worst nights in a hotel.”

“Too much construction all around. Hotel staff was clueless as to what restaurants were opened and closed. Sent us to three that were all closed. Had no idea about why the internet wouldn't work in rooms. Couldn't even direct me to their own gift shop to buy a paper. Said they didn't have any papers.”

• Pools and whirlpools need updating - very stark and in the open - no plants.

• The staff is very friendly and made our stay perfect! They even upgraded us to a studio king.
• The housekeeping was not very efficient. Also the walk to the lift was further than anticipated.

“This hotel is a four star. It has a wonderful staff, nice restaurant and room service. The rooms are large and well appointed. It had a heated indoor pool and several spas indoor and out. We would definitely stay at this location again.”

• The rooms were very nice, clean and the lobby was cozy.
• The staff member in the Spa was very rude so I cancelled our spa appt.!

“The Marriott is a good choice for Vail. We have stayed in many of it's finest resorts. We feel for the price we paid it was a good deal but did not consider this a Platinum Resort. Some of the staff were not very professional. ”

• We stayed in coach class, and the rooms were very nice, can't imaginer how much nicer 1st class is.
• Most of the staff were very helpful, but a couple were condescending.
