• Staff/Front desk was outstanding and accommodations were excellent, definitely first class!
• Fire alarm went off at 11:40 P.M. Not sure why. Lots of commotion for about 45 minutes.

“The staff was very cordial and extremely accommodating. My wife and I celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary here this past week. What a great experience! The staff did everything imaginable to make our stay memorable. We asked to change the room, a gas card and free valet service. To top off our stay we received a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room, compliments of the hotel. Bus transportation was definitely a plus! The town was very unique and quaint. Thoroughly enjoyable. What a great place! You are very fortunate to have so many great employees under one roof! Rating would be higher than a 10 for the staff! I will definitely visit again.”

• It is in the heart of Lionshead Village you can walk to anything.
• The hot tub was way too hot to get into.

“Very comfortable. Unbelievable views. Walking distance to everything in Vail. Highly recommend. There was a temperature problem with the hot tub, but everything else was fantastic.”

• The rooms were small, but sumptuous.
• The rooms were small and there was loud construction next door and out the window.

“It was filled with two conventions but was very well maintained. The food is ok a restaurant but very overpriced and my husband got food poisoning from the chicken salad.”

• Upgraded us to a very nice room, great staff.
• The indoor pool was closed, this was one of the top reasons for taking the trip.

“We stayed at the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort & Spa for our honeymoon and received virtually nothing of what you might come to expect from a 4-star Resort. We were not informed that there wasn't any general parking areas, valet only, available. The room was extremely small, the bathroom door was broken and wouldn't shut and the shower appeared to be poorly cleaned. Our stay coincided with the future business leaders of America group's visit and we found ourselves constantly calling the front desk to complain. While we expect a certain amount of noise from teenagers, the chaos, sprint races down the hallways, radios blaring, constant yelling across balconies, that was present during our stay was totally uncalled for. However, the hotel staff did try their best to remedy the situations. The parking situation is completely unacceptable.”

• It was a bit dated; also, there was no wireless access in the hotel.

“Nice hotel, wonderful bed. Furnishing is a bit dated, but a good location in Vail within 5-10 minute walking distance to the village at the base of the mountains. Very pretty location and the heat worked!”

“I loved staying at this hotel. It is beautiful and had a great view of the mountains. There is also a bus that will come pick you up right out front to take you to Vail village. I wasn't there during peak season so I got a great deal.”

• Construction noise during the day was ridiculous.

“Despite getting the eye (you look like you don't belong in this high class resort) and the construction noise heard all day from drilling or something on the floor above us, the resort was nice. Granted, I came into the lobby driving our rented kea that was a bit dusty from some off-road adventures, and was dressed for the outdoors. Overall the staff was friendly and helpful despite the initial bad impression.”

• The fitness room was nice, good variety and loved the extra touch of fresh apples and oranges, extra magazines and new headphone covers.
• The room that they gave me was very small and ended up being below a very busy ballroom where one could hear the band.

“I had several issues with my stay in the beginning. Valet parking is pretty much the only option because of an off site lot; a 10/day fee for internet that is not even wireless and the room was small for the money. I was originally excited about the Marriott because of the great price I got, knew the location of the facility, so I even added a day after. In the end; however, I could have stayed next door at the resort my parents were staying at for the same amount of money once you factored in daily internet cost and daily parking cost. I ended up complaining after I got back after a long day of hiking seeking peace and quiet, only to have my room filled with a concert (I could sing along!) coming from the ballroom below me. I had already sent a complaint about the situation, but went to the night manager about the noise. He was aware of my unhappiness already from my Marriott email (which I thought was impressive) and ended upgrading my room to a very nice suite behind a semi private entrance. He also sent up a bottle of wine. I don't know if I would go back but I felt that Marriott made good after my complaints. I do feel that they penalize people by giving inferior rooms and making a point to say when I checked in that my room was paid in advance. I will say that I do believe Marriott does believe in customer satisfaction and will try to appease an unhappy guest.”

“Great hotel in a great location. The room was absolutely beautiful and very spacious. My only complaint - valet parking only $10/night, valet was frequently overworked and we had to wait 15-20 minutes for our car.”

• Brian, concierge, was very helpful with getting us on our hike and river rafting excursions! Front door valet men were very helpful and friendly.
• A huge property is being built just east of the Marriott in Lions head. Not their fault, but I would rather not stay next to construction on vacation.

“Great hotel very near the base of Lions head Gondola. Friendly staff and the tram to Vail Village is just outside the front door. Nice pool and hot tub adorned by beautiful hanging basket flowers and large towels!”

• No self-parking garage on site so had to pay for valet.

“The hotel was wonderful! From the moment we entered the front door, until the time we left at the end of our stay the hotel staff were friendly and courteous and helped us in any way they could! Most rooms have a balcony with two chairs to sit and have a cup of coffee or just watch the sun set. The beds were extra comfortable and the bathrooms were quite nice! There is a free shuttle that runs from the hotel to Vail Village every 20 minutes. Overall, great location, wonderful amenities and excellent service!”

• Simply beautiful. The architecture really stood out around the other wonderful hotels in the area.
• Worst parking garage in history, but they are tearing it down to build another hotel.

“The hotel resembles like a chateaus and my wife found it to remind her much of Bavaria. While the parking is truly lousy (2 available floors with a single lane exit for both those arriving and those departing) the entrance to the hotel is beautiful (pretty, covered, driveway with a large revolving door) as is its lobby. The Vail bus (which travels to most places around Vail) stops right out side the entrance to the hotel.”

“This is one our favorite hotels in vial. It's a beautiful hotel that has really great off-season prices. However, until the massive construction projects that are going on all over vial are finished (sometime in 2008!), I will wait to visit again.”

“This property is decorated just like all the other properties in Vail - lots of wood, stone, and very Alpine feeling. We went after busy ski season and took the bikes for fantastic road bike riding. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Cozy bar and lobby. Not the fanciest I have ever seen but very nice. Room was super clean with great views. Would go back there in a minute. ”

• It was set in a bucolic wonderland. It was the backdrop to a dream vacation.
• It was perfect. The only problem was we had to leave and go back to work!

“The location of this hotel is tremendous. It is a perfect hotel for the person(s) looking to get away from the daily grind. It offers deluxe accommodations, spa, restaurant, lounge/bar, friendly staff, clean rooms, and to top it all off it's only 150 yards away from the nearest ski lift. Beautiful views!”

“The Vail Marriott offered a well mannered and neat staff that was very friendly and helpful. They accommodated all our needs and requests. The food in the restaurant was expensive and tips add to the cost of the stay. The bed could have been more comfortable, though the linens were great. The room was very nice and well appointed.”

• No Wi-Fi in room or hotel.

“The staff was excellent in this hotel! It was off season when we visited but we still had a great time. Every person was so friendly. I got a massage and it was excellent. Since I got a spa treatment, my husband was allowed to use the spa facilities (indoor pool, steam room, hot tub, etc) even though he didn't get a treatment. We plan on going back to Vail to ski this year and we will definitely stay at the same hotel.”

• It is within walking distance of many fine Ford gardens, restaurants, shops and lounges. The walk to and from them is excellent exercise.
• The room was rather small. The details were great but not much room to move.

“Marriott hotels are always quality, no matter what level of hotel within the line. This one is excellent. The property is beautiful, well kept, easy access with many amenities on site. The lounge had live entertainment each night. The pools and spas were wonderful.”

• Hotel air conditioning equipment located immediately outside the room. Balcony overlooked. Not attractive. Eye-sore.
