“Love this hotel, location and ambiance.” Nov 24, 2009 by
Robert from Albuquerque,NM
“Overall the hotel was very nice. This was the 2nd time staying at the Tamaya resort. The room was very clean and comfortable. We did not use the pool & hot tub or golf course. The staff was friendly and the check-in was quick. The hotel is very spread out so it is a long distance from the car to the room.” Nov 19, 2009 by
Bruce from Norcrossq,GA
“This is a REAL resort. The furnishings are as classy as the surrounding hills. Well designed and laid out property. The staff were well trained and helpful. It was 30-50 deg F during my visit so I did not get to the pool.” Oct 16, 2009 by
Larry from Sequim,WA
“The hotel is beautiful. It is very quiet and the lay-out is such that you feel like you are the only guest. The restaurant (Corn Maiden) was world class with excellent service. I rated the lobby cleanliness a 7 due to the many stains on the carpets in the common areas, which was surprising given how clean the rooms were.” Oct 1, 2009 by
Nancy from Albuquerque,NM
“This is a perfect resort hotel for a get away to enjoy excellent facilities for a family or couple. We use it for a day of swimming and hiking in a beautiful setting. This resort is one with the environment.” Sep 11, 2009 by
Terra from Toronto,Canada
“Loved this hotel the staff was fantastic. Our room was a King non-smoking as requested. The fitness and spa were excellent. I wanted to try the horseback riding and tennis courts but didn't have time. Close to downtown Albuquerque about 35 mins.” Jul 19, 2009 by
Joe from Downers Grove,IL
“Excellent resort. Secluded and private. The rooms were comfortable and the pools were clean.” Jun 9, 2009 by
Carma from Woodland Park,CO
“Tamaya is outstanding in every way! It is a top quality, service oriented resort that has very little pretense, making our vacation relaxing and comfortable. It would be excellent for families, couples on a honeymoon, girls weekends, weddings and events of any kind. The two things that most impressed me was that (1) the Resort made an effort to appeal to all five senses with their cedar/lavender sachets in all rooms, Native American music in all public areas, and the cedar incense burning in the lobby and (2) the service was outstanding and friendly. The bar has an impressive selection of tequilas and for novelty they will sell a group of 4 people a 'giraffe' of beer. Really fun! The food at the cafe was really good and I would highly recommend the fish tacos and the Huevos Rancheros for breakfast.” Apr 8, 2009 by
Val from Durango,CO
“Great resort that we stay at frequently.” Apr 3, 2009 by
Ron from College Station,TX
“Great place for relaxation and caters to women for the spa. Restaurant is fine but menu is somewhat limited. Bar and public areas very attractive. Should probably plan on trips off-site if one stays more than two days and is not attending a meeting.” Mar 26, 2009 by
Tyler from Farmington,NM
“Great relatively unknown resort. The spa was fantastic but expensive. Atmosphere is outstanding, staff is friendly, grounds are wonderful.” Feb 17, 2009 by
Lynn from Albuquerque,NM
“Third visit to Tamaya. Wonderful as usual! The perfect place for a romantic and relaxing get-away!” Feb 14, 2009 by
Pablo from Powell,OH
“Marvelous escape from the bustling world located on a unique property that must be seen to be believed.” Jan 2, 2009 by
Tisha from Palm Desert,CA
“The atmosphere at the resort was so wonderful that we cancelled our plans to tour the surrounding area. The staff was helpful & knowledgable. Planned activities were unique to the culture of the area. We hope to return and stay longer. Relaxation was complete.” Sep 6, 2008 by
Isaac from Albuquerque, NM
“The resort staff was amazing in every aspect of our stay. Extremely friendly, as they provided a welcome bag filled with treats for my pup.” Sep 5, 2008 by
Chris from Greer, SC
“Overall a nice resort. I was not aware that there was an additional $14.00 day charge for the use of spa facilities automatically added to the bill. It may be worth the charge, but we did not use the facilities so there was a cost and no benefit.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Jerry B. from Los Alamos, NM
“Hotel meets all criteria as a 5 star resort.” Sep 1, 2008 by
Brenda from Amarillo, TX
“We had an excellent stay at the Tamaya Resort. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, food at The Corn Maiden was excellent, rooms were clean and comfy. This resort will be a top choice when returning to this area.” Aug 25, 2008 by
Jason from Rio Rancho, NM
“It's well of the beaten path; and then some. That's actually what makes it all work. It allows you to enjoy the beautiful Rio Grande Bosque (boss-Kay). No traffic noise, no pan-handlers, no outside vendors; just hotel guests and staff. You get the feeling that your traveling back in time along the long entrance to the facility. Your reward is a beautiful resort built in the adobe pueblo style. It has everything you would expect for the price and then some. They even have bicycles to use for the entire family. The only negative is that it may not be convenient for someone who has to attend a function anywhere outside the facility. Bernalillo is a solid 20 minutes on the freeway to downtown Albuquerque during non-rush hour times. If you don't mind that; You'll love the Tamaya.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Susan from Los Alamos, NM
“We went for a short overnight trip to the Hyatt Tamaya as an anniversary get away. The resort is nestled near the Bosque with beautiful views of the Sangre de Cristos. Our room was simple but elegant. Also, I think this was the most peaceful room I have ever stayed in. I never heard another guest talking, shower running, housekeeping rolling by, toilet was flushing nor any other noise I find disturbing in other hotels. We strolled around the property, which was again, simple but elegant. The pools (I think 3 of them) looked inviting -- but we never found the time to try them out. Although I have no complaints with the lodging at the Tamaya, the dining is not up to the same standard. I asked for window side table. However, when we arrived, of course a window side table was not available. The food was good, but not great. For the price level, I expected more. Also, I just couldn't shake the feeling that I was dining in a chain restaurant. I don't know if it was the tacky plastic name tags and ill fitting uniforms of the wait staff, or their robotic, scripted service, but I never felt I was truly in a fine dining atmosphere. All in all, I would stay at the Tamaya again but go elsewhere for dining.” Aug 17, 2008 by
Brian from Los Alamos, NM
“Facilities were wonderful; staff is polite and very helpful; full of extras that make the stay enjoyable; very comfortable.” Aug 12, 2008 by
William from Albuquerque, NM
“We return every summer for a short vacation with the family, and we always enjoy our stay. The staff is friendly and the resort is beautiful. Our two kids love the water slide and pool, while the adults enjoy lounging poolside. Our only complaint is with the beds. Unless you ask a suite, you can only get two full beds or a king, which is not ideal for a family of 4.” Jul 27, 2008 by
Dana from Los Alamos, NM
“I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Not only is it great for families, but it is wonderful for romantic getaway's, weddings, business conferences and reunions. The staff is excellent and the all around atmosphere is perfect. We had a fantastic trip.” Jul 23, 2008 by
Tina from Houston, TX
“The staff was superior. They treated us like we were special. I go for the spa services which are superior to any of the spas in Santa Fe.” Jul 17, 2008 by
Antionette from Albuquerque, NM
“It is a beautiful hotel. We enjoyed the amenities offered here.” Jul 9, 2008 by
Ruby from Albuquerque, NM
“A glorious place to go to relax with your family or your sweetheart. The pools are top-notch. There are plenty of activities for children and adults. The scenery is breathtakingly beautiful. We were enchanted with how perfectly delicious all the food was at the two restaurants and even in the Trading Post. We may take a trip back there just to eat sometime. (We live in Albuquerque). Ask for special accommodations if you have mobility problems. We are both fit, yet we found it monotonous and exhausting to make our way around the extensive grounds. You have to walk in big spirals to get to your room. We thought maybe the architect had been on peyote? The spiral theme is a beautiful one, but maybe not the most efficient for getting from place to place. We extended our stay, which made us need a few things. Driving to the town of Bernalillo to buy them was very easy. Soon, we were back in paradise (although our room was still a long walk away). We didn't want to leave this romantic, fun, beautiful place.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Eleanore from Albuquerque, NM
“Great for kids and adults.” Jun 16, 2008 by
David from Albuquerque, NM
“This hotel is located near Bernalillo, New Mexico and about 20 to 30 minutes from Albuquerque. It is a bit out of the way, not a problem for vacationers but possibly an issue for business travelers. The architecture and grounds are beautiful, somehow blending modern and South-western/Pueblo themes. Rooms are fairly spacious and well appointed, with very useable balconies. The spa facilities are first class. The non-code facilities include a sauna, steam room and hot tub at no extra charge and massage, beauty treatments, etc. are available. Both restaurants are good, the Corn Maiden, however, is quite spend.” May 14, 2008 by
Katherine from Sedona, AZ
“This is a beautiful hotel located on 500 acres of lovely high desert. It flanks the Rio Grande and has pathways leading to it. The pools are beautiful and there appear to be a lot of family activities. Santa Fe is a 40 minute drive away. We had a problem with restaurant noise and the staff handled it impeccably.” May 10, 2008 by
R from Farmington, NM
“A visit to this resort hotel was a pleasant surprise for my birthday. My husband, though, was surprised at the $16 daily 'facilities' fee. So, be prepared. It was wonderful, however, to enjoy the cruiser bicycles or just walk the excellent trails that navigate to the Rio Grande. The spa, including sauna, Jacuzzi, and steam room was much appreciated before the superb massage. It's a spectacularly-designed resort.” May 6, 2008 by
Diane from Santa Fe, NJ
“This hotel is absolutely beautiful and guests are treated like royalty. Every single employee, regardless of their position, would greet us and if they knew our names, would address by our names. They bend over backwards to accommodate guests. The hotel grounds are peaceful and gorgeous.” Apr 29, 2008 by
Emily from Albuquerque, NM
“Beautiful place with great atmosphere. Very comfortable and New-Mexico-like.” Apr 20, 2008 by
Kim from Albuquerque, NM
“Everything was wonderful.” Apr 17, 2008 by
Jennifer from Farmington, NM
“Excellent hotel. I would like to stay longer than one night and take advantage of their daytime activities.” Apr 17, 2008 by
Lisa from Rio Rancho, NM
“The Resort was wonderful. Upon checking out we were surprised at the $15 per day valet parking fee (even though we tipped them) and the $15 per day trail. fee that we never used! They charge each guest this per day??? We live in NM and were offended that they tried to get away with this with us. No wonder they had to lay off several employees - who wants to stay in a place where they are charged for something that they don't get!” Apr 9, 2008 by
Betty from Chula, GA
“Excellent place for a vacation! Top dollar facility.” Mar 30, 2008 by
Judith from Santa Fe, NM
“Overall, excellent and a wonderful getaway for a family. The horse ride was great, the pools were amazing, and the hiking trail to the river was fun. Staff was friendly and professional. Grounds were beautiful. Many of the activities advertised were not available on the day we were there, so check in advance.” Mar 27, 2008 by
Jill from Oakton, VA
“Nice fancy and accommodating.” Mar 26, 2008 by
Annette from Los Lunas, NM
“Everyone at the hotel was very pleasant and helpful. What a great way to celebrate Easter with family. The movies, games, arcade room, and of course the Easter Bunny at the Easter egg hunt, were all awesome!” Mar 20, 2008 by
Angelica from Albuquerque, NM
“Loved the place! Given I am from the area, it was a nice get away and the Spa is fantastic! This was the first time my husband and I got a room and it was great! I would book another one again! Staff was very friendly and the hotel was not crowded. Very nice! The bike rides were great too! Loved it!” Feb 21, 2008 by
Anthony from Evanston, IL
“The hotel is way overpriced. They have small double beds and charge a "Resort" fee on top of the room rate which they could not explain.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Colleen from Eagan, MN
“All was as hoped for 20% gratuity always auto. Added, would like to decide gratuity based on my experience, not by their expectation. Room fine, dining fine, staff fine. Would highly recommend.” Feb 20, 2008 by
Cj from Bernalillo, NM
“Just a great place to stay. Perfect for a getaway weekend.” Feb 19, 2008 by
Jim from Farmington, NM
“I would recommend this hotel for a family or romantic get away. Very clean, the staff is very helpful and the overall condition of the hotel is excellent.” Feb 15, 2008 by
Diana A. from Pie Town, NM
“My fiance and I had an amazing weekend at the Tamaya. The location is far from the main road and the views from either side of the hotel are fantastic. If you have a choice, I would recommend the mountain view. Free shuttles are available to take you to and from the casino, a short distance away. The bed was heavenly, and room service meals were good. Try the poached egg/spinach dish. The sandwiches were fair, go for the pizza instead. Don't miss out on the outside waterfall hot tub.” Jan 29, 2008 by
E. M. from Albuquerque, NM
“The place is peaceful with clean rooms and nice bedding. The lobby is attractive and comfortable. The food is always good.” Jan 24, 2008 by
Frank from Hudson, WI
“Great relaxing experience. Be sure to use spa, much included in your stay. Nice people!” Jan 23, 2008 by
Lois from Albuquerque, NM
“Great place EVEN DOG friendly. The dog had a care package upon arrival. Even dog friendly. Our Dog had a walk out room and a goodie bag.” Jan 16, 2008 by
Adam from The Colony, TX
“This is a nice hotel with a very friendly staff. It is way out in the middle of nowhere but it is self sufficient if you need anything.” Jan 10, 2008 by
Gary from Austin, TX
“Best hotel I ever stayed in. Will go back.”
