• Use to be a top hotel, but needs an upgrade.
• They gave us a double bed. Not appropriate or comfortable for a couple.

“Overall it was a good place for us bikers going through town on the way to Sturgis. But, as a business traveler I would insist on renovations. I dislike stains in hallways and common areas. Makes me crazy.”

• Good location for downtown events.
• Bathroom needed repairs (tile loose, shower head flopped, drain didn't drain well, fixtures loose, etc).

“Still a good value for the price. The bathroom needed some TLC. Bed was comfortable. Air conditioning wouldn't set lower than 68. For those who like cool sleeping conditions it probably won't be too comfortable.”

• No pool or hot tub.

“The room was clean looking in general however we could not use the coffee maker because it had old coffee in the carafe and generally unclean. The shower filled with water because of a slow drain. Decorations in the room were generally not soft or inviting.”

• Great location, very comfortable beds.
• The front desk clerk that works grave yard. Very unacknowledged and not helpful at all. Didn't really seem to care and was very slow!

“We enjoyed our stay at the Crowne Royal as we had for our last visit to Billings. The bed was very comfortable, the rooms were clean, decorated nicely, the location was easily accessible and close to most things. The front office person that has checked us in both times (works grave yard) was not friendly, helpful, knowledgeable or efficient. That was the only thing that tarnished our stay.”

• The hotel is centered downtown.
• This establishment is non-smoking.

“The Crowne Plaza is centered downtown Billings, and only a short walk to most upscale dining and clubs. It is a very nice and romantic hotel, with the great service that is known with all Crowne establishments. You will not be disappointed with your stay here.”

• Very comfortable beds and nice room.
• No free breakfast and the bar/restaurant are overpriced.

“Extremely comfortable rooms, but no pool and a basic breakfast (2 eggs & toast) will cost you $10. Parking is a nightmare. They have a parking garage next door, but it was full. Overall, I was not too impressed and would not stay there again.”

• Very clean and quiet. Loved the lighted, magnifying mirror in bathroom.
• Tub faucet was loose. Service in restaurant 2nd morning was lousy, but great the first morning.

“Very clean. The tub faucet was loose and could have used some repair, but didn't hamper taking a shower. Flat screen TV and good variety of channels. We stayed here last year and it was great and our stay this year was again, very nice. We would stay here again.”

• The parts of the hotel that they have updated are good.
• It is older and they have updated parts of it, the parts they haven't updated need work, It could be cleaner!

“It is located in downtown Billings, close to some very good restaurants. They have done some updating of the lobby and some in the rooms which make it a nicer place to stay. The parking garage nearby is very convenient for parking.”

• The room was georgeously decorated and up to date.
• They don't plow the parking lot. Had a foot of snow.

“This hotel was recently refurbished with top of the line furniture and wall coverings. It is beautiful. The hotel upgraded me to 2 queens for no extra charge. Lobby is just superb. Stella's is great for breakfast within one block walk. The bar nearby burned down so there are no drunks at night. Very safe.”

• Excelent rooms and dining facilities. Quick response from staff.
• First room assignment had noticeable smoke smell in non-smoking hotel.

“Good downtown location gives travellers chance to check out the town of Billings. Easy access back to freeway. Spaceous room with all 4-5 star features. Front lot parking, free of charge. Pleasant dining facility with nice view of surrounding area.”

• Large room with sitting area and great flat screen TV.
• No pool. Parking and check-in was a major hassle due to refinishing hotel parking lot.

“Located on a main downtown street, it is practically the tallest building in town. lovely rooms with a sitting area and large flat screen TV, nice views from the 20th floor restaurant. Free internet, exercise rooms, and laundry rooms available. There is even a Starbucks in the lobby.”

• Big modern room. HDTV flat screen. Great bed.
• Shower area was peeling.

“This hotel was remodeled in august 2008, not sure if they are done yet. My room was unbelievable for the price. Big modern clean room. LCD HDTV. Free WiFi. Free parking. Bed and bathroom very nice. My only complaint is that the shower area was peeling in places like the soap holder. If not for this, the room would be a 3.5-4 star.”

• Beautiful room, nice view and location.
• Must have thin walls, hear neighbors easily.

“Good location, staff friendly and room and large bed very nice. In fact, room nicer than I anticipated after I'd read earlier reviews. I agree with other reviews in that this must be an older motel renovated. It must have poor noise insulation because you can easily hear neighbors. Bring earplugs if you are light sleeper. I'd use this motel again though.”

• Plumbing problems/toilet /lesser room on 2nd stay.

“First stay we thought we had hit the lottery everything was so nice, so were a little disappointed 2nd time was not as nice a view, toilet flushed itself twice and sprayed water all over, and missing just a few more little things 1st room had. Was still a nice stay.”

• The staff I encountered were all friendly and helpful.
• My bathtub drain was very slow to drain.

“The hotel was centrally located and had all of the amenities of a moderate/upscale hotel. The room was comfortable and had modern furnishings. The bathroom was not as well maintained as the rest of the room. I felt the cracks in the sink and the slow draining bathtub and paint missing from the bath tiles detracted from the overall experience. The front desk staff, housekeeping and bell hop were all very friendly and helpful.”

• The hotel overall is very nice, and I love the room/bed.
• It took a while for the hot water in my room, and the location was not great.

“This is the second time I have stayed here. I liked my room the first time better, as the location of the room this time was not great. It took a while for the water to get hot in the bathroom. The hotel is still great, and the staff was nice and responsive, as I needed toothpaste, etc. I ordered room service, it was prompt and the food was fine. The bed and TV were very nice. Overall a good experience.”

“Front desk handed me a room key and said nothing. There was stains on the underside of our white bedspread! The rugs look very tired and dirty. This is our second or third visit to Crowne Plaza in Billings (we are there often) and we shall not return. The redo of this hotel is so bleak and there is no way to make concrete blocks attractive.”

• Fantastic gym, decor aesthetically pleasing; staff was very professional; perfect location; on-site Starbucks a plus; free drink at Montana's.
• Bathroom: tub wouldn't drain, tub faucet separated from wall allowed water to seep behind tile; no hair dryer, base of toilet pretty dirty.

“I loved this hotel. Yes, the gym had a lot to do with it, but the other little amenities helped too, like a free drink at Montana's, the linen spray, the wonderful lobby (encourages guest to not stay cooped up in room doing computer work), not to mention the on-site Starbucks!”

• Parking, Room Housekeeping was very poor - basically just remade the bed.

“I always have enjoyed staying at this hotel (5 or 6 times within the last 18 months), but this time the housekeeping between our first nights stay and the second night was very poor. It seemed like all they did was remake the bed. Not all of the garbage was removed, dirty glass not replaced, toilet paper not replaced on holder & bathroom floor needed mopped. I Like the location and the front desk personnel & shuttle driver, but housekeeping needs some correcting.”

• The bathtub drain plug was broken and the drawer on a dresser didn't close.

“Overall, I thought the hotel was very clean and comfortable. Staff was able to accommodate myself, sister and two sons in queen beds vs. double beds into a room that may have not been completely remodeled. The bath drain and dresser drawer needed repair.”
