• Located near airport and hotel strip with restaurants. Comfortable. Breakfast buffet offered.
• Breakfast buffet was basic fare.

“Nice location near airport. Free WiFi. Helpful staff. Walk to restaurants. Adequate pool and some fitness equipment. Comfortable and comparable to other chain hotels of same star. Excellent value.”

• Reserv.for 2, bathroom had 1 bar of soap & 2 washcloths, 1 shampoo. Phone didn't work, bathroom counter was dirty.

“Hotel advertises new comfortable beds, mine was sort of lumpy. Found black stuff on bathroom counter, used one of the 2 washcloths to clean it & couldn't rinse it out enough to use for face. Only 1 small bar of soap(none for bath) The phone didn't work, could not make any calls. Front desk no help w/this.”

• The beds were comfy.
• Parking lot was crowded.

“The hotel charges less for rooms because they are not putting art on every vertical surface. It is sparsely decorated in the lobby and the rooms. I prefer this attitude. The bed was comfy and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The parking lot is under sized for the number of rooms they have. They were doing some renovations back by the pool and managed to keep all the debris quarantined. It was very clean all around.”

• Location, and friendly staff, good price.
• Could not connect to internet from room, although
  I was able to connect to hotel wireless network.

“In-room high speed internet did not work even though I was able to connect to hotel wireless network. Staff were not able to help with problem. Hotel is out of date, but its a nice place. If they get in-room high-speed internet, I stay here during my next trip to Grand Junction.”

• Room was quiet.
• Room was not well cleaned, hotel is older, nothing special about hotel.

“The Grand Vista is definitely not a 3 star hotel. The only thing that might make it so is that is has 4-5 stories and appears big from the outside like the Marriott, but the inside is older. Even though the hotel is non-smoking, the hallway outside our room smelled like smoke. There was a very old smelly Subway Sandwich left in the fridge in our room. The floor was not vacuumed well. We were given a room with 2 full size beds. I can't remember the last time I've tried to sleep on a full size bed with my husband, very small beds. We ended up putting our kids on the unclean floor and each taking a bed to ourselves.”

• I liked my room on the 6th floor. It was clean, comfortable and quiet.
• The pool was a little too cold and had way too much chlorine.

“I have stayed here before and had a good experience both times. I didn't go to Bailey's lounge or eat a meal but it was nice that this feature is available. The staff was very kind and pleasant to deal with. I was disappointed in the pool because it was a little cold and had too much chlorine in it. The hot tub was great. I would stay there again and tell my friend and family to stay there.”

• Spiders in the towels.

“There were spiders in the towels, the smoke alarm went off from taking a hot shower and the opperator would not pick up the phone. The cleanliness was very poor.”

• The helpful staff.
• Room was not clean, and the alarm clock was set for 5am.

“We have stayed here several times. Seems the more popular this hotel becomes the dirtier the rooms get. I always like extra pillows and have to wait for front desk staff to bring them. The price of this hotel is excellent. So you cant complain to much. I think its the best hotel for your money.”

• Friendly staff, convenient location, good value for money.
• Bed linens not high quality.

“This hotel is very convenient to airport and town, has friendly, helpful staff, is fairly newly-redecorated and has free passes to a great local gym nearby, a real plus. The room was clean and well kept but maid service not great. It was very good value for the money and I would definitely (probably will) stay here again, but it needs to come up a few notches to deserve three stars.”

• I will not go into a bar that has kareoke.

“We have stayed here several times and really like the atmosphere. Because of the bad winters it is good to have all the things we need in the hotel.”

• Nice pool, nice bathroom, comfortable bed, was very quiet, and they were willing to give coupons to the local gym.

• The pool.
• The service at the desk.

“The desk computers were down during our stay so their was a problem about whether the breakfasts were included with the room. Also, the first room we were given had not been made up. The staff's attitude the desk would lead me to not recommend this hotel to others.”

• It was in a great location near food and shopping.
• It was probably the oldest hotel in town, so updates were needed.

“The Grand Vista was a great hotel for the money. It was also about 3 miles away from any and all shopping you could want. There was nothing special about it, however. The restaurant in the hotel has karaoke in the evenings. It was a good thing we stayed on the 4th floor, otherwise we would have heard everything late into the night.”

• The room was wonderful as far as size.
• The room had a strong foul odor definitely need refreshing.

“I was impressed with the easy to find and in and out location. The room was extremely large which was very comforting, other than the smell. The hotel seemed old especially in the bathroom area. It was quite noisy in the hallway, but once you had your door shut it was ok.”

• The pool was set up well.
• Dirty, peeling paint, smelly, uncomfortable, unreliable, broken A/C.

“The rooms was very bad; paint chipping, smelly hallways, rooms; bathroom was unkept, not fully stocked, room not cleaned properly, food still there from previous guests, A/C didn't work, beds completely uncomfortable, vents falling out of ceilings and hallways, caulking coming out of showers and floors.”

• Nice location and has everything you need if you were staying around the hotel.
• The payment arrangement was unclear at the time of check out.

“There was a Juco world series going on during our stay. Maybe that is why we got the ground floor. But given the views of the area I was not impressed where they placed us.”

“Met or exceeded my expectations. very nice lil lounge, with a fun Karioke group. Food was ok, and the staff was great. Thanks. Quiet rooms, plenty of space, comfortable beds. Older decorations but tasteful and nice. Rooms have fridge, micro and coffee. Very handy.”

• The indoor pool and hot tub were a plus.
• They did not offer a complimentary breakfast.

“The hotel overall was fine, the hotel staff were accommodating and friendly. We only stayed one night but got the general feel of the hotel quickly. It is a nice hotel in a quaint city where there doesn't seem much to do so you need the indoor pool and hot tub.”

“Due to its location, this hotel was quite busy on the weekend that I was staying. The renovations are still not complete, and the lobby had an interesting odor in it. The money that you pay for a quality room, seems to be lost in this industry.”

• The room was recently, and nicely, redecorated.
• Walking through smoky, dingy hallway to non-smoking room, horrible pillows.

“The lobby and sleeping room were very nicely decorated and pleasant and the beds were very comfortable. The pillows, however, were very poor and provided no support. In fact, I still have a stiff neck. We requested additional pillows when we checked-in but they were out of pillows. We were able to get additional pillows the second day but they were of no better quality. Our non-smoking room was not located on a non-smoking floor so as soon as we stepped off the elevator the hallway looked dingy and smelled strongly of smoke. This hotel was not in the same class as other 3-star hotels and it cost more. While it was a definite step up from some of the 2-star locations we've stayed at in Grand Junction, I was still disappointed.”

• Nice hotel manager who agreed with me that it was horrible.
• Dirty, disgusting, filthy.

“It should be condemned. Filthy, disgusting. Hair and used shampoo and soap in the bathroom. Dirty rugs. Old Breakfast sausage on the floor. Old disgusting mattresses. Fitly curtains and vents. Nothing nice at all. Very scary. I wish I brought rubber gloves. I wish I could have camped out instead. But it was cold.”

• The receptionists, and that is all.
• Quite a disappointment since it was not at all a 3 star as promised.

“This hotel may have been a 3 star doubtfully in its younger days but it does not qualify as one today. The sink drain did not work so every time I needed to shave or wash the sink would fill and I had to wait before proceeding. The TV was one of those units that were manufactured some twenty years ago and had never been maintained as half of the screen was color and the other half somewhere between shades of brown and black white. All in all not even a 1 star experience.”

“I had stayed here a couple of years ago and it was the same dive, but the description said it was recently remodeled. It was obviously not the case as I was assigned to 2 different rooms after I complained that it was not remodeled as stated. I will not stay there again.”

“I would recommend this hotel. Most of our party was staying at the Doubletree. This was significantly less and was every bit as nice. Friendly staff. Hotel was very modern and was well decorated.”

• The pool was very nice and inviting and clean. The bathrooms were the highlight of the room.
• A little more cleaning was needed and maintenance on the walls curtains, and interior doors.

“Overall great rooms. There is a need for some deep cleaning and some cleaning up the walls and inside doors. Although things are nice this is not a 3 star room. The bathroom is new and beautiful however. It could rate as a 3 star room.”
