• Walkway to pool from room was unclear.

“This was a great hotel with a great pool, which in Tucson was very important for family harmony. The kids loved the warm complimentary cookies they received on check in and we all had a great time!”

• The rooms were very comfortable, attractively decorated.
• They were doing remodeling, which detracted from the overall attractiveness.

“The room came with coffee-maker and coffee that was not replenished when the housekeeper came. My first nights sleep came to a very unpleasant end when remodelers started work at about 7 o'clock am on a room about 30 feet away. To their credit, hotel staff was very helpful when I asked to be relocated. I don't think it was there when I checked in but saw a notice about the remodeling when I checked out.”

• Cool pool, very child friendly, gave us cookies every night.
• A guest knocked on my door at 2 in the morning (went to wrong room).

“Solid hotel right next to Reid park. For you runners, has a nice 3.2 loop to run around golf course (day or night). Pool is fun for kids. The hotel even provides floating rafts for guest. Hope to stay there again next visit to Tucson.”

• Beds were not comfortable. No refrigerator in room.

“Doubletree was great, and not to mention the wonderful cookies. Surprised that beds were not that comfortable, and no refrigerator or microwave in room. The pool area was gorgeous.”

• The room was clean and the hotel grounds were beautifully landscaped.
• The four dollar water in the room. Free water would be better.

“My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Doubletree Hotel. The room furnishings were well done and everything was clean. The air conditioner worked great. The pool area and hotel grounds were all well maintained and clean.”

• The price & the room decor.
• The area around the poll was coming apart & terrible to walk on. also I expected a fridge in the room.

“Pleasant enough but in need of repair. We were in the older section. Right over the workshop area & across from the pet walking area. Noisy & aromatic. With a view of the nearby apartment complex. The room itself was lovely and the windows open yet!”

• The dining facilities and personnel were very accommodating.
• It was an older hotel with a paint job.

“Pretty good value for the dollar, friendly staff and excellent dining facilities. Interior/exterior were pleasant but old, simply painting does not qualify as modernizing.”

• There were a lot of US soldiers drinking around the pool with glass bottles, said something but was not acted on promptly.

“This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. I enjoyed the room it smelled very clean and was well taken care of. The grounds were great. The only problem we had was with the US soldiers that were drinking around the pool, they had glass bottles. I said something to one of the attendants there but the problem was not acted on promptly. The soldiers were quiet but with my Grand daughter with us I had a little anxiety about her moving around.”

• The housekeeper entered the room unannounced at 8:15am to ask when I was leaving. It was fortunate I was dressed at the time.

• The bed was extremely comfortable. I slept great! Staff was very friendly and helpful.
• Most of my business was at least 10 miles away from the hotel. The Tucson traffic made it difficult to travel from this location.

“The Double Tree Inn was a very nice experience for my family. The staff was both friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the added touch of fresh cookies each day. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. A good bed is very important with the comfort of staying at a hotel.”

• Good location. Nice workout room.
• Redecorated but poor construction- About a one inch gap easy under my door- You could almost qualify it as a "view". Tub was not clean when I arrived.

“Pros: Good location! Nice staff. The bed was comfortable. The renovation was deceiving. Cosmetically okay but under the door was a large gap- Easy for bugs or mice to come in- a snake could have come in. The tub was not clean and I did not notice until I was getting in- Yuk- I was there one night only. The food at the hotel was not very good. I just had breakfast but the coffee was horrible. The parking was easy and the area of town pretty and convenient. Not crazy about staying there again but if I had to I would.”

• Excellent staff, beautiful garden, comfortable beddings and generous towels, quiet, clean.
• The accommodation for disabled people could be improved a bit, installing a step-in shower rather than a climb-in tub.

“A great place to stay in a residential area of Tucson. The staff was really great. The rooms were quiet with beautiful views of the mountains. Toiletries could be enhanced a bit. Parking was easy and close. The place was warm and friendly but large enough to accommodate many people. We especially appreciated the room to accommodate a wheelchair, but the bathtub should have allowed step-in access, rather than having to climb into the tub. All-in-all, a good place to stay when you're in Tucson.”

“Check in was quick and friendly - with a fresh cookie. The room was clean and comfortable. We went to the pool without room towels - as instructed - but there were no towels at the pool. We called to get more towels, but 45 minutes later, still no towels. The pool and workout room were very nice, however.”

“This hotel was great! There were orange, grapefruit and lemon trees everywhere! The outdoor grounds were kept up perfectly! We enjoyed having drinks poolside. The beds were extremely comfortable. The only complaint was the outdated bathrooms. They were clean, just outdated.”

“The grounds were beautiful, lush with vegetation and very inviting to visit in the summer. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location was a bit far but because of how much we enjoyed staying there that we didn't mind. Ate at the adjacent restaurant: the food was good and the entertainment was great!”

“The Doubletree is located fairly close to Downtown Tucson and with great views from the high floors. Great staff, nice decor and satisfactory maintenance level for a 30 year old hotel. I would return to the Doubletree at Reid Park.”

• Very Friendly.
• Did not like the feeling of no security in the back. The area we were in shared the parking lot with an apartment complex.

“The staff was friendly and very helpful. There is 3 negatives about this hotel. First, if you are in the back section there is no elevators and you have to carry everything up and down stairs. Second, The housekeeping staff needs to step it up. The bathroom was dirty when we arrived and remained that way. ex: hair in sink and bath tub, old drywall on tile on bathroom floor. Thirdly, The room service was fast and friendly but the food always arrived cold. They need warming carts to keep the food hot.”

• Chocolate chip cookie was delicious.
• Use of fragrant cleaners made room stink, no fridge or micro.

“The hotel apparently makes use of fragrant cleaning products which made room stinky and unhealthy. Very little or no extras that I would associate with a 3-star hotel. Staff were friendly and efficient.”

• We loved beds, sheets, staff and of course their cookies.
• They put us behind hotel tower first but we asked to be moved because it looked to dark.

“We love double tree but location of this hotel didn't excite us. We check in early and after coming back from dinner and shopping we were the only car parking out there. With children we feel we had to ask for another room in tower to feel safe.”

• The room was remolded and looked great, the price was well worth it.
• Since it was a remodel job, for a 3star hotel I didn't like the drive up to rooms instead of a closed in hotel.

“If I were to write a good review, I would suggest that al the rooms be enclosed within the hotel it's self. Driving up to the room as you do in a motel wasn't my idea of a 3 star hotel, but on the good end, the rooms were great very elegant and upscale, free HBO is always nice and the fact you could order movies from your room was wonderful. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will stay there again, but we would like a room inside the enclosed part of the hotel next time.”

“The location of this hotel is across from a large park and close to shopping and eating destinations. The public facilities were quite nice. The food at the restaurant was good but "pricey." Our room was located on the ground floor of a courtyard in the back of the main building. The parking lot was dark and isolated and the room was poorly maintained - weather stripping under the door was missing leaving a quarter inch gap (no telling what would crawl in from the desert), TV remote did not work, the toilet ran forever, the faucet leaked over the countertop when in use, grout on tile was cracked, etc. On the positive side the service staff was prompt and courteous; wireless internet worked well; the beds were comfortable; the room was quiet. We found it ironic that a hotel that waters its grass every night asks its customers if they want clean towels every day or whether they can save water.”

• Under ongoing construction.

“Very comfortable hotel, walking distance to park, zoo, baseball spring training. Great cookies, gym and pool. Construction will be going on for a while and it will be big, so beware. Room was clean and comfortable for a great price!”
