  • Old and dated. Pool was nasty.

“Located close to the U of A campus, there were plenty of restaurants to choose from. Hotel was older and dated and the pool was cloudy/dirty. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Buffet breakfast was pretty expensive but had a decent assortment of items that were well prepared.”

  • The hotel staff were personable and efficient.
  • The pillows in the bedroom were hard and the
    AC did not cool well.

“The Tucson Marriott was well located, close to University and 4th Ave (good for eating and shopping). The hotel was also well - kept with nice amenities (gym, pool, hot tub) and a friendly staff. We'd definitely visit again. Note that self-parking is $11 extra/night and valet $15/night (a charge we did not originally anticipate).”

  • Very nice motel with great location.
  • Parking garage is shared with University of Arizona and is across the street, not connected to hotel.

“Very impressed with the quality of the hotel and their staff. Centrally located in Tucson made travel to any area attraction a breeze. The only negatives were parking is a separate fee and the outdoor pool was not heated.”

“The hotel is spacious, beautiful, and elegant similar to another of our favorite, the Embassy Suites. The lobby, restaurant, cocktail lounge, exercise room & gift shop are all located on the first floor surrounded by the rooms all lined up in a circular design. Superb location adjacent to the downtown area, eateries and shops all accessible by walking, trolley car, shuttle, and other transportation modes. Very clean and tidy hotel. Very friendly personnel. Great breakfast!”

A supposed upscale, business traveler friendly Hotel should have better parking and free internet access.”

“The hotel itself is really beautiful, unfortunately it is right on AZ University campus. We were extremely disappointed that the hotel did not offer free internet access, you have to pay for it. My husband had business to attend to online and he had to go to an on campus cafe to connect for free. For this caliber of hotel it she offer free internet access to guests, all of the other hotels that we stayed at during our 2 week trip offered it and this was a let down.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[7] • Location:[5]

  • It was convenient to the places we wanted to visit.
  • The beds were so uncomfortable that we woke up with back aches in the morning.

“There is a charge of $11 a day for parking, that seemed high. The hot tub and exercise room were very nice. It would have been nice to have some kind of social hour or happy hour in the hotel bar area. Understand the charge for Wi-Fi connection in the room but most hotels have free Wi-Fi if you go to the lounge/coffee shop area. The proximity to the areas we wanted to visit was a nice benefit. The rooms were well kept except the beds were uncomfortable, the TV did not work, and the toilet took at least 10 minutes to fill up which seemed slow to us.”

“They don't allow pets. The parking is in the Arizona University garage. The hotel charges $22.00 a day for parking. They didn't tell me that parking was upstairs on 2nd floor for Marriott. They told me to go in the visitor area. I got a $25.00 parking violation ticket. They charge $9.95 a day for wireless internet access which I think is wrong. They charged $1.00 for every local call. La Quinta and others don't charge for local calls. I tried to extend my stay for 1 day due to business changes and they advised that I would have to pay $279.00 for the extra night. That is incredible for the quality of the rooms.”

“The Tucson Marriott is right in front of the University campus and close to all the cute cafés and boutiques. Hotel is large and bare bones efficient. Pool is stark but Jacuzzi is strong jets. Overall Rating: 6 User Rating Score: 6
Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[2]

  • Comfortable beds nice linens and plenty of towels & hot water.
  • Did not like the parking situation. Structure rented from University.

“Interior of hotel nice. Staff responsive and polite. I felt this hotel was jammed into a small space surrounded by buildings belonging to the University. The parking situation is messed up. On the weekend it was OK. Once 7:00 a.m. Monday there were plenty of speeding vehicles and short tempers. Staff did not inform us that we needed a sticker on the dash not to get a parking ticket. I received a parking ticket for $25.00. A Front desk manager said they would take care of it. I still expect to receive a "late due" in the mail. We'll see. I was upset with the $4.00 cost of the bottles of water and a $15.00 charge for in house movies. The soda machine took my $1.50 for a drink, the staff reimbursed me quickly. Don't stay here unless the parking doesn't bother you. The weekend I was there it rained and snowed in Downtown Tucson. It was also freezing cold and windy. My car got drenched with filthy road water driving into the structure as well. So the parking experience ruined my stay.”
