• Front desk clerk was very polite and helpful.
• Poor to no insulation between rooms.

“There was no sign that would say the location of front desk/lobby. I could hear (loud and clear) the conversation of the next room occupants. I could hear their TV show.”

• Wonderful setting in the foothills near the National Park.
• Breakfast facilities were nonexistent.

• Gorgeous surrounding landscape, good pool if you like lap swimming.
• Rooms are plain, quality not up to par with 3 star rating.

“If you are a serious golfer that doesn't care so much about room aesthetics this may be the place for you. Room accommodations were plain and basic with the greatest perks being the tempurpedic mattresses and outside views. Hotel has a late check in and early check out hours, which we found to be a hassle.”

• The setting is amazing. Very, very beautiful.
• The pool was nice; the fitness center could be upgraded.

“I really liked this hotel quite a bit. The room smelled a little funky (insecticide, maybe?), the counters could have been stone instead of laminate for a more luxury room, but all in all, it was great. It's far on the outskirts of Tucson but it was in a gorgeous setting. The summer rains had made the desert very green and there was a fantastic hiking trail.”

• They were very good with directions and attractions.
• The cricket in our room but it was taken care of well.

• No handicap facilities.

“None of the rooms had handicap facilities other than parking. We were led to believe after calling prior to our arrival we would be in a HC room.”

• Nice pool and Jacuzzi. Room was friendly and people were ready to help.
• The position is kind of far away from Tucson and the rooms are located on an alley away from the pool.

“People were nice. I liked the room even though it was kind of dark and we had to walk from the pool. It was easy to get by car. However, it is a nice place to relax and very peaceful.”

• Excellent atmosphere and view.
• The shower was a single stall.

“Great service and the room was great. A bit of a hike from the hotel to downtown Tucson, but that is the only downside.”

• The outdoor view was beautiful.
• We had to wait 45 minutes to check in because the office is closed from 11:00pm-5:00am

“We traveled 16hours and when we arrived, we were not able to check in. We had to wait for room service.”

• Beautiful setting with gorgeous mountain views.
• Room was outdated and dark and bathroom needed remodel.

“This is a beautiful location with great mountain views, but the rooms were very disappointing. The decorating was dark and outdated. The bathroom wasn't as clean as it should have been - mold on the shower curtain. The staff was very friendly. Didn't try the restaurant, so can't comment. With a remodeling job, it could be a great place.”

• The room was part of a two-room building with a secluded, condo-like feeling.
• The public hot tub was broken, the pool unheated and cold at night, the towels were flimsy, and the beds were rock-hard.

“While secluded in a two rooms to a building condo - like building, the room seemed like your average Motel 8 room. The beds were hard foam, the towels on the first night were flimsy (they gave us more substantial ones the second night), and the décor was uninspired. The public hot tub was broken with leaves floating in it, the pool was freezing cold and unheated at night. The shampoo and conditioner was poor - my girlfriend's hair was dry as a bone using it. The oatmeal soap was fun though, the room was kept clean, and the view was very nice, including a cactus garden of sorts outside the window with little birds chirping in the morning. The room wasn't terribly impressive though, although we still had a great time.”

• Not easy to find in the dark, but very quiet locations, wonderful bed, clean room.
• Not easy to find in the dark - got lost on the property, there is no internet connection in the room.

• Beautiful setting.

“The desert environment is beautiful. The kids loved walking to see different birds in the morning. We appreciated the pool and tennis courts, although the large cracks in the courts definitely need repairing. We very much enjoyed afternoon tea on the deck overlooking the golf course. We also enjoyed playing board games in our room (although you should download instructions to replace lost ones). The room was a little tired (visible carpet repairs) and dusty, but generally clean and comfortable.”

• Could use more lighting for business travelers.

“I was down with a bad back and the Jody at the front desk went above and beyond to make sure I was ok, fed, and comfortable. Outstanding customer service. Rooms aren't huge, but are very comfortable, quiet, and beautiful property.”

• Hotel was located too far out of the city.

“I will seek out Marriot hotels after staying at this hotel. The bed was amazing and provided the best sleep I have ever got in a hotel. We are going to purchase one for ourselves. Way to go Starr Pass Resort!”
