• The staff was efficient.
• 162 trains a day on tracks 50 yards away.

“The hotel was decent and the staff was friendly but the trains' horns blaring every 7 minutes kept me up all night. That made it a miserable stay.”

“It was dirty. Help was rude. Not up 2 standard as far as I was concerned. Checked out was within 10 min. Did not stay. Smelled. Black mold growing in window. Told front desk and she told me it was just cleaned day be fore. Not hospitable. Stayed somewhere else for the night.”

• The loud trains all night.

“This hotel was located right across from the train tracks. All night long trains go by, with each hitting their horn exactly 4 times. The door had to be slammed to lock. There was obviously no dress code for the staff.”

• The free Wi-Fi was nice and it was nice having until noon to check out.
• The breakfast wasn't so great.

“We stopped here on our way to the Grand Canyon and it was the cheapest we could find in Flagstaff. Not far from Downtown where we had lunch and not far from places to get groceries and stuff we needed for camping.”

“Please don't go here. It was horrible. It looked like someone has someone had just stepped out of the shower and had slept in the bed. The water was leaking and woke up to a lake in the bathroom. The manager took forever to get the room.”

• Ceiling damage repair was poor.

“1-star in my opinion. But we needed Sedona - not sure if the browser refreshed when I was trying to complete a field I missed but I sure thought I had selected Sedona. We had to drive to Flagstaff or waste the money - it was sad.”

“Cute, clean hotel. Horrible location, hotel located directly across from railroad tracks. We were woken up at least 3-4 times at night from the train's horn.”

• Clean, although we did have a bug crawling on the ceiling.
• Train too close, very small rooms, not enough towels in room.

“I expected something economy, but this was ultra economy. The building is old and not well maintained. The train track is across the street and the whistle blew several times through out the night. The room was clean for the most part. We did have a little beetle crawling on the roof when we first got there, but didn't see any after that. The rooms are a little small.”

• The jasmine tea for breakfast.
• Every 20 minutes you would get woken up by the loud train horns. As a result we couldn't sleep. This motel shouldn't even be offered as an option.

“I rate this motel negative 10 for the location that it is in. A hotel should be a place where you can get some rest for the next days activities. If you can't get any sleep, it's probably better to sleep in the car at a rest area!”

• Very dated. Tried a remodel, it's still old looking.

“Room was clean but the decorations were a little old. Hot water ran out after 10 minutes. The hotel ran parallel to train tracks and a train went by every half hour and the horn went off as well. Expect little to no sleep if staying here.”

• Poor TV reception and options.

“Plain, comfortable hotel. Wifi, great showerheads with hot water, real tile in bathroom and shower/tub (not fiberglass). Only thing that could have been nicer would have been better TV quality (picky, I know, but I like the snow outside not on the TV). Would definitely stay again.”

• It is actually a motel with access to every room from the parking lot. I like that.
• The train that goes by every few minutes & the paper thin walls.

“Trains run all day and night a few feet from motel and since they are by a cross street, the trains horns are blaring, day and night. We like trains, but, the horns do make it difficult to sleep soundly.”

“Not only was the room not clean or stocked (this can be fixed) the main problem was the 3 railroad tracks located 100 yards from the hotel. All night, at least twice an hour, a train would pass by and sound its horn. Needless to say we did not sleep that night.”

• Location to downtown flagstaff.
• This hotel is directly across from train tracks! Too loud!

“Although the hotel was conveniently located it is right across the street from a very busy set of train tracks. The trains come through town at all hours of the day and night and blow their horns each time. This made it very difficult to sleep! The heater/air conditioner lacked a thermostat, which made the room very uncomfortable, as it was either too cold or too hot. It is for these reasons that I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!”

• Sits next to railroad track train whistles about every 30 minutes.

“The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. Continental breakfast was sufficient but seating was not. Sits on route 66 with railroad tracks directly across the street with loud trains and whistles approximately every 30 minutes. Difficult to get a good nights sleep.”

• The trail whistles overwhelms everything else.
• It sits right next to a very busy railroad crossing and the sound of the horn is bad.

“If it weren't for the sound of the trail whistles all night long right across the street this would be a fine 2 star hotel. I even tried my ear plugs but the train sounds like it is right on you.”

“There was a train that ran every 15 minutes all night long. It was the worst night sleep I have ever gotten. When called to the desk to see if we could get a different room, no help and very rude. We asked to get a different hotel, she said she would not refund our money and all the hotels had trains by them. So disappointed with best western and having a hotel with the quality known of in that location and nothing said about a train running all night long. It did not live up to the expectations of the hotel chain.”

• Very close to train tracks, but was tired enough to have slept peacefully through all train horn blasts.

“Clean, but a bit worn. Worth the price that I paid for it. Had a small refrigerator in the room with us that were very convenient. Came with continental breakfast, but no time to try it before driving north to the Grand Canyon. Train horn was a bit loud at first, but we left the TV on at a low level, and we were tired enough to sleep through the train noise.”

“Exactly, every 17 minutes a train rolled by, very near the hotel, blowing its horn at the nearest proximity. This train activity continued throughout my entire stay from 6pm, one day, until 11:00am the next day. This was a true motel, in the 1950's sense.”
