“Do not stay here. I looked it up on trip adviser and thought it would be OK. My kids were scared to sleep on their bed because I pulled the sheets back to check the mattress and their was a giant like a 6 x 6 stain! We arrived late at 2 am driving in from Texas. There was no place else to go or we would have. The kids ended up sleeping in the bed with us. (our bed was clean) Then just as we lay down, the trains started. I was waiting for the bed to start moving across the floor like we were in an I Love Lucy episode or something! Don't stay here. There are nicer places closer to the grand canyon.” Apr 2, 2009 by
Jan from Littleton,CO
“I liked the comfort of the beds, the bath products. But the cleanliness was fair. Also our toilet and sink while updated looked poorly installed. The carpet was old but fairly clean. The breakfast was very good with plenty of hot food and nice friendly staff. I would have liked a thicker blanket on the bed though. For the money is was a good value and I would recommend to others.” Mar 14, 2009 by
Jonathon from Mesa,AZ
“I stay at this hotel for a short romantic getaway. I couldn't have been more pleased with my choice. We stayed in an executive suite and was very pleased with the furnishings and the space. The bed was extremely comfortable and the huge breakfast buffet was a nice surprise.” Jan 14, 2009 by
Arleene from Gilbert,AZ
“Clean enough, but could use some fresh paint, new refrigerators, curtains, carpet, etc. Good location and price!” Sep 6, 2008 by
Audrey from Glendale, AZ
“The gentleman in the cafe at breakfast was so kind and helpful I almost cried. Work-out room? One treadmill that hardly worked and some free weights with an old stair stepper, what a joke.” Aug 26, 2008 by
Christine from Scottsdale, AZ
“We needed a hotel for a night while we sent our son off to college. Never stayed there before and really wasn't expected too much. But the people that worked there were really nice and the beds were extremely comfortable.” Aug 22, 2008 by
Nancy from Lhc, AR
“Horrible, no room when we got there, terrible run down location, used to house people. Had to find different lodging when we arrived and they didn't care.” Aug 21, 2008 by
Brian from Asheville, NC
“Very nice hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very polite.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Matt from Phoenix, AZ
“I've stayed at this hotel many times and always enjoy it.” May 15, 2008 by
John from La Habra, CA
“An older (1950/60's) facility that has been reasonably well maintained. Room is a good size with common furnishings including plentiful supply of pillows. The breakfast/happy hour facility is a converted coffee shop located on the premises. Overall, a good value for the price.” May 5, 2008 by
Jonathan from Laveen, AZ
“For the price, the hotel met my needs. The initial room assigned had several things that needed to be addressed and upon presentation to the front desk and management, they were able to satisfy me, by doing a complimentary upgrade. The staff is very attentive and the free hot breakfast was a definite bonus.” Mar 3, 2008 by
Dewest from Flagstaff, AZ
“The beds were absolutely wonderful! Great breakfast and I would definitely recommend spending a few extra dollars for the Jacuzzi suite.” Feb 13, 2008 by
Brooke from Mesa, AZ
“We just went to play in the snow for the weekend and needed a hotel that would accept our dog. This was a great fit. The staff was friendly and the breakfast buffet was pretty good for a free buffet! The beds were comfortable. The corners of the bathroom floor were very dusty and you could tell that the bathroom floor was not swept before they mopped it.” Jan 24, 2008 by
Kim from Whiteriver, AZ
“This is a really nice place for the money. The only problem was that it was really cold and the doors were not weather-stripped, the upper section is good, you can barely hear the trains up there and the free food (breakfast) and cookies were excellent. Every other place in Flag you can hear the trains, but here you are above them. The tub was wonderful, the heat lamps well placed and the bed was nice and plush.” Oct 18, 2007 by
Molly from Boston, NY
“Absolutely dreadful. The shower had hairs that were identifiable but should not be mentioned in pubic I mean public. The drains did not work in the two rooms that we rented. The coffee makers were "out of order". The unmentioned train tracks across the street didn't help in the sleep category. The heated pool would have kept our beverages at the freezing level (in other words we would have had to break the layer of ice to get into the pool). So with this all going on we decided to sit down with all of us and watch a movie on hob which was supposedly available in every room. Guess again no hob reason storm blew out the cable box yea right! Enough said got better things to do than live the past. Inns suite never again.” Sep 23, 2007 by
Bob from Waupaca, WI
“A nice enough place. If you want luxury don't stay there. They had everything we needed including free internet and great hot breakfasts. Location was pretty central. If you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs. Seems like a train went by every 15 minutes around the clock.” Aug 24, 2007 by
Roy from Allen, TX
“Nice scenery and very good breakfast and the serving staff were excellent.” Jul 29, 2007 by
Ann from Edgewood, KY
“Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. No internet access in room and said they would send someone to fix it. No one came. Pool light burnt out. Short on fan in bathroom. Dangerous walkway to and from room. Tried to give us a room already assigned to someone. Staff acted like they were on drugs.” Jul 24, 2007 by
Kim from Show Low, AZ
“The breakfast was great and the room was clean and comfortable.” Sep 13, 2006 by
Denise from Payson, AZ
“Although this hotel is presently very run down. I could see that a major renovation was taking place in several of the rooms. The staff was all friendly and helpful. The rooms were a nice size. They offer a Social hour where they serve beer, wine, coffee, tea and soft drinks They also had a complimentary breakfast. We did not have time to experience the outdoor pool or the indoor Jacuzzi. It is located on historic Route 66. Although it is set back a bit from the road (especially the upper 200 building) the train tracks were across the street and trains ran frequently. Ear plus would be helpful. My major complaint was that I called earlier in the week and specifically requested two non-smoking, ground floor suites. When we arrived we were told that we could only have one like that. We gave that one to our guests.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 29, 2006 by

“The hotel web site must have been for a different hotel / total misrepresentation. The entire experience was unacceptable. The refrigerator was on an unlabeled wall switch. The microwave's turntable was a mismatch so it did not work properly. Room was not made up at 4pm when I inquired as to when I could expect the room to be serviced I was told when housekeeping gets around to it. The hot tub listed on the web site and literature was nonexistent. Internet service did not work, mold and loose tile in the bath.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 18, 2006 by

“Never again. I paid $100.00 plus tax for this dump. The room was not much more than a closet with a king-sized bed stuck in a corner, an obvious attempt to hide a pathetic patch job on the wall. Only 1 of the lights in the entire room worked. It was suppose to be a non-smoking room, but the carpet was ancient and beyond cleaning therefore retaining every smell imaginable. The proximity to the train didn't keep me awake due to sheer exhaustion, but it could easily keep others awake. It appeared that some attempt had been made at upgrading, but it was a poor job at best. The vanity in the bathroom was obviously original, and I made the mistake of looking under the sink - the original wallpaper/wallboard was still showing and the bottom of the vanity was warped, rotten and smelled. There was no question as to why the poor patch job on the other side of the wall next to the bed was necessary. The air conditioner sounded like a freight train and kept my wife up all night, despite the fact that she was exhausted, too. My advice - spend the extra $20.00 or so and go someplace else.” Jun 3, 2006 by
Linda from Las Vegas, NV
“I would not want my children to stay there because of uncleanliness and general poor quality of linens, bathroom fixtures, etc. Breakfast was really good...& was free at an adjoining mini-cafe.” May 30, 2006 by
Brian from Ypsilanti, MI
“Met expectations.” May 14, 2006 by
Emily from Terre Haute, IN
“I was very disappointed with this hotel. The room I got was supposedly non-smoking but the clothes I had been wearing and my hair smelled like I had had been in a smoky bar after just a few hours in the room. Other problems were that the refrigerator in the room stunk, the shower dial was broken, the mattress was sunken in, the screens and windows looked like they had not been redone in 10 years or more (which made my sister and I a bit nervous being that we are two young women traveling and were staying on the ground floor) and to top it off the desk staff informed me that the water had to be shut off at 8am for some repair. Thank goodness I wanted to leave the hotel early anyway. I have not been this unhappy with a hotel stay in quite some time.” May 2, 2006 by
Joanne from Mesa, AZ
“I had requested non-smoking, with 2 beds. When we arrived they had put us in a smoking room with one bed. They did change our room, however, it was located on the 2nd floor, which made it difficult for us to manage our suitcase up some very steep stairs. The breakfast in the morning was nice. ” May 1, 2006 by
Robert from Big Sky, MT
“One transaction like this destroys confidence in your ratings and will erode willingness to use your service.” Apr 28, 2006 by
Trish from Laguna Woods, CA
“We asked for dinner recommendations from the staff person. She recommended "Josephine's Restaurant - IT WAS DEVINE.” Apr 26, 2006 by
Jessica from Garrison, TX
“This hotel is nice. Not enough towels and room service took forever to get up with some extras..” Apr 21, 2006 by
Melanie from Kamloops, BC CA
“Enjoyed our stay, separate bedroom with comfortable bed, microwave/mini refrigerator, complementary Internet access, complementary hot breakfast with fresh hot food buffet in a Route 66 theme restaurant.” Apr 17, 2006 by
Adam from Redlands, CA
“Overall experience was good.” Apr 16, 2006 by
Wendy from Henderson, NV
“The room was clean enough and had a small fridge and microwave which was very useful since we had brought our own food and there's also a supermarket right down the street. Occasionally at night, you could hear the rumble of a passing train but it wasn't particularly intrusive. Flagstaff itself had a charming, old town quality and the location of the inn was central for exploration of the downtown area. For the price, I thought the place was more than adequate. The breakfast they provided exceeded my expectations with hot fresh waffles, cereal selection and even hot food (eggs and potatoes). It's a convenient, safe place to stay and within a reasonable driving distance to Sedona where the hotel/motel prices are easily twice as expensive.” Apr 14, 2006 by
Peter from Redondo Beach, CA
“Phones were not turned on. Internet access in room did not exist. Thin sheets. ” Apr 11, 2006 by
Jim from Albuquerque, NM
“Overall, this was an excellent hotel for the 2 star rating. The Internet service did not work and no assistance was offered but I did discover that they had a wireless network I was able to use, although, the staff did not tell me about it when I complained about no service in my room” Apr 1, 2006 by
Kitty from Phoenix, AZ
“Good location to AMTRAK. Social hour is a great idea.” Mar 29, 2006 by
Anthony from Phoenix, AZ
“We were prepared for the worst, bedbugs, roof falling in, etc. Relieved to find it was not as bad as that. Hotel is under renovation and they are obviously trying to improve things. Room was clean and comfortable, staff was fine, especially the server in the breakfast room. One of the nicest complimentary breakfast experiences we have found, nicely decorated, roomy, clean serving room with good food options. Parking area in the upper lot, where we stayed, had huge dumpsters for debris, and generally kind of dirty outside. But, they are well on their way to making positive improvements and would be worth another look.” Mar 28, 2006 by
Jeff from Delaware, OH
“We had to change rooms to get one without a shattered bathroom floor, and loose carpet. All three rooms were small and furnished with stained, worn, and scratched furniture. The carpet was dirty and unwept in each room. The "whirlpool" could only seat two and was dirty. The "workout room" consisted of some free weights and a stair stepper that didn't work. ” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Mar 28, 2006 by

“The hotel was dirty, small, and very noisy. The walls made a ticking sound all night and my husband and I had trouble sleeping. ” Mar 20, 2006 by
Diane from Phoenix, AZ
“I thought I would be getting a clean room. The tub was very moldy and the bathroom not very clean. The rugs were dirty and smelled bad. I saw a lot of hotels there that looked nicer so next time will try one of those. The one man who took care of the breakfast buffet, on his own, was so nice to everyone. I would probably not pay the higher price again. It was pretty low class but it served it's purpose for the night.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Apr 15, 2005 by
Danny H. from Phoenix
“The room was small but great for our needs, separate sleeping areas and 2 bathrooms, was clean and cozy. The price was great for those on a budget. The staff were all excellent. Enjoyed the social hour of free beer, wine and BarBQ, also the free breakfast. It is close to old town and the Amtrak station. I would recommend and stay here again.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 6, 2005 by
Sharon from Richmond, CA
“We got a great room, actually a suite with two rooms. We felt we were not discriminated against for our discounted room. We felt like honored guests.” Dec 22, 2004 by
Paul L. from Pine Valley “This was an AWFUL hotel. It should have been listed as a -3 star. Dirty room, small, and very old and in need of major work inside and out.” Dec 21, 2004 by
Deanna P. from Hurricane “The rooms were very tiny. When we got there my husband had to fix the handle on the toilet so we could use it. Then he had to fix the handle on the bathroom door so it would close. The night drapes wouldn't shut, so we had to pin them closed. There was no insulation around the door and door jamb, so it was very cold. They did have a great breakfast to offer the next morning after a long night.” Dec 6, 2004 by
Dennnis E. from Taylor “We were placed in a smoking room, and we're nonsmokers. This was not good!” Dec 5, 2004 by
Eric R. from Ventura “Wonderful staff, good cleanliness, but older fixtures.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 30, 2004 by
Linda B. from Albuquerque “The hotel personnel were friendly and courteous. Our stay was very short, however, we were satisfied with the service. The buffet in the morning was a nice touch provided by the Hotel” Sep 8, 2004 by
Stacy H. from Phoenix “It wasn't made clear a railroad track was running right by the hotel so we heard the whistle from the train all night long, which made it hard to sleep. Towels were very thin. Curtains wouldn't close all the way, so we had to pin them with a safety pin so the light from the outside light wouldn't shine in our room. It was nice to have a microwave in the room and the complimentary breakfast the next morning was one of the best I've ever had in any hotel anywhere.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.
