• Convenient location, good price.

“For an overnight stay with little time spent in room, good choice. Very close to NAU. Got 2 rooms for the price of one so our group of 4 could spread out.Temperatures easily adjustable and warm enough in mid winter, easy to exit to street and close to many restaurants. Comfortable, but not elegant.”

• Room clean and spacious. Staff friendly. Free breakfast in the morning was tasty: oatmeal, toast, English muffins, pastry, juice, coffee, tea.
• Pillows could be upgraded at not much cost, then the visit would have been perfect.

• There was nothing that was liked.
• Dirty room, dirty carpet, dirty walls, and dirty hotel.

“The nicest part of the hotel was the sign out front. Aside from that, this was a horrible experience. The room was non-smoking but the stench of smoke filled the room. The floors, bed and walls were all stained with what appeared to be urine and other substances. Several used dirty tissues were stuck to the walls as well. We did not even stay in the hotel, we went elsewhere for the weekend because there were no other rooms available. We ended up needing to go to another hotel. Very disappointed.”

• It was fairly clean
• Everything else.

“As I said earlier, I feel like priceline was deceptive in it's advertising with this hotel. In fact, after my offer was accepted, it showed a picture of the Econo Lodge and it looked like a decent hotel. When I pulled up to the hotel, it was a huge dissapointment and we ended up moving to another hotel room around 3 am because the beds were extremely uncomfortable. I won't use priceline again for bidding on a hotel. Very deceiving. I plan on writing a letter to the better business bureau, as well.”

• My air conditioner did not work-had to borrow a fan from front desk.

“Hotel was clean, accessible, breakfast was good, staff was very accommodating. AC did not work but rather than move all our luggage - we opted for a fan to cool us.”

• Friendly service, there was a hairdryer & coffeemaker in the room, and continental breakfast in the lobby.
• The mattresses looked yellowed with age.

“I was looking for a one-night getaway from the heat of Phoenix. I stayed in this hotel mainly to get a good nights sleep. I did sleep, however, there was one issue with the mattresses on both of the full beds. The mattresses were yellowed (with age). As a result, I will not choose to stay in this hotel again, unless I hear that they have changed the mattresses.”

• Cookies in the lobby.
• The rooms had very strong smell of air freshener.

“I was knocked down by the smell of something that was put on the carpet or sprayed in the room. It made me wonder what they were trying to cover up. The smell did not go away over time. We opened the door to air it out but that did not help. The jacuzzi was not available, and the breakfast was very limited. Only oatmeal, small package muffin or white bread with jelly or butter. No milk, or cream for coffee. They ran out of plates. The juice in the machine was pretty good.”

• The room was clean and in good condition.
• The free continental breakfast was nothing but prepackaged muffins.

“The room was clean and in good condition. The heater worked well. I did not hear much noise from other rooms. The only complaint was the parking situation not all of the spaces were plowed and we had to park in a neighboring lot. the free continental breakfast was nothing more then prepackaged muffins that was disappointing.”

• The hotel was clean, quiet and had great amenities.

“A great place for budget travelers. Clean, safe, located within blocks of the town center. Lots of shopping and dining options nearby. Friendly staff. Loved the free Wi-Fi. As expected, a budget style motel, quiet and comfortable.”

• On the main street of the town.
• No fridge, no microwave, bad showers, hard beds, cheap sheets.

“The status of this hotel was bad, the star rating and the price didn't even come close to matching each other. I have stayed in a better hotel for way less price (Tempe). The night auditor was terrible and gruff; he didn't want to be bothered and never had a kind word to say to anyone in my party.”

“This survey is for Econolodge at University. We had to extend our stay as we could not return to New Orleans due to evacuation. The staff made all arrangements to make our stay comfortable. One lady was very friendly and she wanted us to stay longer. We liked Flagstaff and Sedona and will definitely come back next season. Econolodge of University will be our first choice.”

• The staff was friendly and the hotel is located in a good area.
• The hotel had a musky smell to it.

“This was a decent stay for the money. The staff was friendly and the location was good. Our room had vaulted ceilings which made the room feel open. There was a weird or musky smell to the room but overall not a bad stay. Will stay there again.”

• Nothing. I did not like it.
• Cheap, not remodeled and in a noisy location.

“I was disappointed. EconoLodge is on a busy street, and the rooms have not been remodeled or upgraded. They automatically put me in a smoking room, and were hesitant to change it. The general feeling of the place is that it was cheap to start with and has not aged well. I would not wish to stay there again.”

• Conveniently located near Downtown and both interstates.
• The hotel pool was not operational, although it was over 80 degrees in Flagstaff.

“For an economy hotel, it was better than average. The air-conditioning worked well. However, it should not be included in the two-star rating, as I don't feel it met those expectations. Parking is inadequate. There was hair between the comforter and sheets on the bed. The front desk clerk was on the phone during my check-in. Over-all, not equal to the other two-star hotels in town, including the other Econolodge in Flagstaff.”

“After I got booked with it, I was told that my sister and I (and our respective families) had to take smoking rooms with double beds. I am a non-smoker and 6'6" tall and was not pleased with the news that I could not make any changes. Apparently, this happens all the time with it reservations and I will seriously consider another way of booking hotels in the future. Brian Donnelly. 805.583.4192.”

• Significant traffic noise from nearby University.

“It appeared clean but carpet was frayed and there was a faint odor of pet urine covered with some kind of perfumed cleaner. Pool was in the middle of parking lot surrounded by pavement and chain link fence. Not somewhere you would want to hang out. Traffic was intense along front but most of the local motels fronted the same avenue. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast "snack" was served in small lobby.”

• No hairdryer, no little shampoos, lotions, etc. Ice Machine too far away by the pool.

“It was a little pricey for the very plain and basic room. We only stayed one night so it wasn't a big deal. For the $90 we paid I would have expected a bit nicer place. All in all it worked for our short overnight stay. Thanks.”

• Absolutely nothing.
• I had to get a bottle of aerosol disinfectant to use the bathroom and the sink in the room. It smelled of mold, mildew, cigarettes.

“The motel is filthy, the staff in arrogant and not terribly interested in your comfort or concerns. I would never go there again. How could you send me to such a hole in the ground. There were several other nice hotels nearby and I used Orbitz for my return stay on the way back home. ”

• The price I bid was based on a two-star rating; this is a one-star hotel.

“This is a one-star hotel. They only offered coffee for breakfast. I asked for a non-smoking room, but the room I was given smelled of cigarettes; I returned to the lobby to request a truly non-smoking room and was given another room that was better. I was disappointed that I had bid on a hotel listed as a two-star hotel, and this turned out to be a one-star hotel.”

• The hotel is two minutes from the city center, many things are in walking distance.
• They allow pets.
