• They saw that we had children so gave us a bigger room with 2 beds! I was impressed!
• Would have liked a mini fridge in the room.

• Everything was very clean and attractively decorated. The bed was incr.
• Had a run in with the manager over credit card charges.

“This hotel was amazing as far as comfort, cleanliness and decor goes. I did not incur any such charges and five days later the charge is still listed, even after I spoke with the manager three times. I definitely expected more from the Marriott!”

• Beautiful Chihuly chandelier sculpture.
• Terrible wireless practically nonexistent, fire alarm at 5 am that lasted an hour.

“Pretty, but failed to deliver. Restaurant manager was obsequious to guests and rude to the servers. Wireless service was non existent in my room, and didn't work in the lobby, had to pay to use business center to get work done. The fire alarm went off at 5 am and no one seemed to know what to do. I stayed in my room waiting for an announcement, but none came. At 6:15 is the alarm finally stopped. At 6:30 am I left, tired and cranky.”

• Quite, easy in and out, nice staff, and good price.
• It is great for people that are affiliated with uofu, not great for shopping rest. Etc.

• I liked how it looked on the inside and outside. It is clean and inviting.
• Our toilet didn't work very well. We had to hold it. The lever down.

• Terrible parking conditions! They need better lighting & surveillance cameras in parking lot!

“Our two cars got broke into that night. The thieves stole/broke over $1000.00 worth of property. The hotel wouldn't do anything but call the police for us, just to get case file #. Two of the workers said it happens all the time, but the manager won't admit that.”

• Comfortable room.
• The box elder bugs were unwelcome guests in my bed linens and bathroom.

“When I contacted the front desk about the bugs. I was told that they were bos elder bugs and that they were totally harmless. They are not a welcomed quest in my room and should be brought under control.”

• It was very nice, room set up and bed comfortable.
• No hot water! They wouldn't accomidate for the problem. I had to go to work without a shower!

“No hot water and no accomidations for it. The front desk girl said sorry! You have got to be kidding me! I bet she got a hot shower before work! I could have stayed at motel 6 and got a hot shower! Would i come back again? Nope, she told me it happens all the time with the weather change! What? How did all of those people stand it during the olympics? Good on ya university marriot!”

• Very helpful staff. What you expect from Marriot.
• The room was especially small.

“Overall a good experience. We were traveling with two small children and were only able to get a one bedroom room which was way too small for two adults and two children. The staff was helpful and the room itself would have been fine if traveling alone or with one other adult.”

• The location isn't very convenient, but it is worth the drive.

“We enjoyed staying here. Even though the location isn't very convenient, the drive was worth it. It is quiet -away from the noise of downtown Salt Lake. The rooms are very nice and clean. The staff was professional and courteous.”

• The bedding was incredible.
• Restaurant was a little pricey, but very delicious.

“Upon arrival, we were greeted promptly by the front desk staff. We were checked in very quickly, and also allowed to choose the type of beds we wanted. The bedding in the room is to die for. You never get sheets with that high of a thread count unless you are in a 4+star hotel. The restaurant was very satisfactory, a little pricy however. The staff was very pleasant. Parking was a breeze and it was free as well. My family loved this hotel. We will definitely be staying here again.”

• The chlorine smell in the pool area was so strong, it made your eyes water.

• Staff helped us on our computer use due to uncomfortable conditions.
• The air conditioning was not working in the whole hotel and the city was having a heat wave!

• This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel, and the experience has been great both times.
• A part in their air conditioning system had gone out and could not be replaced until Monday.

“Because the air conditioning was not working, they did give us the option of returning our money and providing a computer for us. We chose to stay. We felt that the facilities were beautiful, the staff friendly and efficient, and our stay was pleasant.”

• I love the location and the rooms are so nice!
• The air conditioning was broken, but that was temporary.

“I love this hotel for the location. It's not too far away from downtown, but it's far enough away that you don't have to deal with the traffic noise and it feels very safe. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very nice. I couldn't ask for a more comfortable bed away from home.”

“They said the windows could open in the room. It did in one room and not the other so we died of heat. When presented to the desk the next morning they took off a phone call as one of our parties was very ill due to the heat. I expected a free night to come back and try again with ac.”

• The hotel was decorated nicely.
• The hotels air conditioning was out, our room was about 90 degrees and they refused to compensate for the inconvenience.

“It was hands down the worst hotel stay we have ever had anywhere. We were told at check in that the air conditioning was out and that we could get a refund and go somewhere else. It was already 8:30pm and the guy at the front desk told us that at the very latest the a/c would be fixed by the early morning hours. Well the a/c was not fixed, the whole hotel was hot and our room was about 90 degrees (no exaggeration). It was over 100 degrees outside both days we were there and it felt refreshing to go outside. With a corporation like Marriott there is no reason that the hotel should have remained open with the a/c out. There are two other Marriott hotels within 4 miles of where we stayed plus at least two others that are part of the Marriott brand in the same distance, they should have been sending all of there guests to other locations.”

• The rooms were very clean.
• The hallways were cluttered with garbage and food trays.

“The air conditioning didn't work in the entire hotel either night. The temp outside was over 100 degrees and the room was miserably hot all night and all day. I got very little sleep and had to attend meetings and travel while very tired. The hotel has yet to apologize or compensate me in any way.”

• It was clean and the staff was friendly.
• My car was broken in to and they stole over $1500 in stuff no security cameras.

“Very friendly and professional, but they don't have security cameras and my car was broken in to and they stole my daughters bat bag therefore she didn't have any equipment to play in her tournament which is why we were there. They have a security guard, but she must not have patrolled often because our trailblazer was ramsacked and it must have taken a while to go through everything. The manager did file a police report for us that were nice. He was very helpful.”

• Spacious rooms, nice lobby area, friendly check-in staff, free wireless internet in lobby.
• Small pool area with no change rooms inside pool area, air conditioning not working well at night--too hot!

“Lovely hotel with spacious rooms. Not impressed with pool area and had the unfortunate circumstance of air conditioning problems the night I stayed. I would stay again, however, as long as their new system is installed and working well.”

• I did not have to pay for the parking and the hotel staff was very friendly.
• The air conditioner in our room did not work the 2nd night and it was over 100 degrees that day.

• Pool being open late.
• Maid service was terrible. We stayed two days, our room was not cleaned, then starting 7 am sun kept opening our door to clean it. No coordination from maid/desk.

“This is a nice hotel, but has total lack of coordination between the maid service and the front desk. We stayed two nights. We were gone from our room the first day by 11am, it was not cleaned. The Sun. we left the maid service started opening our door at 8 am to clean it and they continued to do so two more times before we checked out. Check out time was noon?”

• Clean and well kept rooms. Decorated nicely. OK pool area.
• There really wasn't anything I didn't like about this hotel.

“This hotel was beautiful and well kept. The beds were comfortable and the hotel staff was very pleasant. We were traveling with our son and his family (3 kids) and they all had a nice time as well. We had a great time.”

• General Comment: Ice containers could be larger, and pillows were thicker that I would like.

“This Hotel provides an open feel inside and beautiful scenery outside. It sits right below mountains and looks over the Salt Lake Valley. The rooms are spotless and well furnished, and the staff is friendly.”

• The view was nice from the upper levels.
• It was a little outdated, but still pretty nice.

“Overall it was a comfortable stay in a quiet area, and the view is nice. The staff was friendly, but we could smell smoke coming into our room from somewhere outside, and the bathroom didn't have a fan, which was kind of weird but not a big deal.”
