• The design of the hotel and the concierge were in the elite level.
• The size of the room and the fact that it didn't have a refrigerator.

“I found out there was a special rate for Army Reservists with my unit because we were having a conference and I spoke with someone from the Marriot hotline and they said they could adjust the rate once I got there. Once I got to the hotel the staff said they could not changed the rate It seems like there was a communication error and someone was misinformed. I just wish I would of known that in the beginning.”

• The maids did not smile; my son left his $160 cash on top of the entertainment center; the maid did not turn it back. in; front desk had no news of it.

“Hotel, front desk staff, room, environment - all beautiful; no problem with anything but the money left on the entertainment; $10 tip was left on the laptop desk but the money left by 12 year although it was mistakenly left, I felt it should have been turned back in.”

“Location was great and gave us access to everything we wanted without the loud hustel-bustel, staff was very friendly and the motel was very clean. Great place for couples, families and business travelers. No complaints.”

• Rooms very colorful as well as comfortable.
• Toilet made noise, charged for internet, drink machines expensive.

“The hotel is nice; the location is not downtown but within 20 blocks. Too many extra charges, such as internet, etc. I would stay there comfortably if I wanted to be near Univ of Utah, but not the airport.”

• It is located in a very quiet area.
• It is not in walking distance to any where we wanted to go.

“The hotel was lovely and clean. The room was spacious. Bathroom was WAY too small. Hotel and restaurant staff was very friendly and helpful. Because of its out-of-the-way location, we felt very comfortable to have a lovely evening walk. However, I more than likely will return to this hotel again.”

• Too far from the center of the city.

“This hotel is located in the foothills of the mountains adjacent to the Univ. of Utah and its medical center. Great views of the city from here. Perfect location if visiting the university or coming here for medical care. The hotel is very clean. Rooms are fine, not fancy. Staff is very nice, friendly, and helpful. I was upgraded to the concierge floor! The man on the desk says he upgrades a few guests each day if he can! The concierge floor has limited access. Need to insert room key in the elevator, and serves breakfast in the AM, appetizer type food in the PM. If going to Salt Lake City again I would probably try to stay somewhere closer to the center of the city, but only for my own convenience. This hotel was a fine place to stay.”

• The staff was wonderful.
• They needed a light blanket instead of a heavy comforter. The staff did bring a light blanket for the next night.

• Comfortable beds.
• The staff couldn't get anything right, air conditioning was out in the whole hotel.

“I wasn't able to use my gift card because you guys charged the whole amount on my credit card, the staff couldn't get anything right, and it was really hot and stuffy in our room because the air conditioning was out in the whole hotel.”

• I wish the hot tub was available 24/7 as I am a night owl and didn't get to enjoy it.

• Very quiet. we all love the art glass hanging in the lobby.
• Food a little expensive for a middle income family.

“We enjoy staying here. This is our second visit and since our income is limited, we just go to restaurants Downtown that fit our budget. Next time we'll have to check-out the pool.”

• Great Beds.
• We were robbed in the parking lot. Management did nothing and would not even offer comfort.

“Liked the facilities, but service and personnel was lacking. Our car was broken into in the parking lot, which now we know it has happened before. Our insurance card and registration was stolen along with everything else and the manager would not even give us a copy of the hotel report to verify why we did not have them. Poor support.”

• Staff was excellent, professional and friendly.
• Room was obviously for discount customers. Stained carpet, carpet did not go all the way to the wall. We did not receive the complimentary newspaper.

“University Park Marriott was a great place to stay with the kids. (We have 4.) The pool is kid friendly, and there is a small "store" at the front desk that even carries Children's Motrin. The location is good too, close to the Zoo and the canyon if you like to hike. The staff was very friendly, even with the kids.”

• They saw that we had children so gave us a bigger room with 2 beds! I was impressed!
• Would have liked a mini fridge in the room.

• Had a run in with the manager over credit card charges.

“This hotel was amazing as far as comfort, cleanliness and decor goes. I did not incur any such charges and five days later the charge is still listed, even after I spoke with the manager three times. I definitely expected more from the Marriott!”

• Beautiful Chihuly chandelier sculpture.
• Terrible wireless practically nonexistent, fire alarm at 5 am that lasted an hour.

“Pretty, but failed to deliver. Restaurant manager was obsequious to guests and rude to the servers. Wireless service was non existent in my room, and didn't work in the lobby, had to pay to use business center to get work done. The fire alarm went off at 5 am and no one seemed to know what to do. I stayed in my room waiting for an announcement, but none came. At 6:15 is the alarm finally stopped. At 6:30 am I left, tired and cranky.”

• I liked how it looked on the inside and outside. It is clean and inviting.
• Our toilet didn't work very well. We had to hold it. The lever down.

• It was clean.
• Terrible parking conditions! They need better lighting & surveillance cameras in parking lot!

“Our two cars got broke into that night. The thieves stole/broke over $1000.00 worth of property. The hotel wouldn't do anything but call the police for us, just to get case file #. Two of the workers said it happens all the time, but the manager won't admit that.”

• Comfortable room.
• The box elder bugs were unwelcome guests in my bed linens and bathroom.

“When I contacted the front desk about the bugs. I was told that they were bos elder bugs and that they were totally harmless. They are not a welcomed quest in my room and should be brought under control.”

• It was very nice, room set up and bed comfortable.
• No hot water! They wouldn't accomidate for the problem. I had to go to work without a shower!

“No hot water and no accomidations for it. The front desk girl said sorry! You have got to be kidding me! I bet she got a hot shower before work! I could have stayed at motel 6 and got a hot shower! Would i come back again? Nope, she told me it happens all the time with the weather change! What? How did all of those people stand it during the olympics? Good on ya university marriot!”

• The room was especially small.

“Overall a good experience. We were traveling with two small children and were only able to get a one bedroom room which was way too small for two adults and two children. The staff was helpful and the room itself would have been fine if traveling alone or with one other adult.”

• The bedding was incredible.
• Restaurant was a little pricey, but very delicious.

“Upon arrival, we were greeted promptly by the front desk staff. We were checked in very quickly, and also allowed to choose the type of beds we wanted. The bedding in the room is to die for. You never get sheets with that high of a thread count unless you are in a 4+star hotel. The restaurant was very satisfactory, a little pricy however. The staff was very pleasant. Parking was a breeze and it was free as well. My family loved this hotel. We will definitely be staying here again.”
