• Nothing.
• The door didn't even touch the floor.

“The walls are thin. A man talked on the phone all night next to my door. I could hear the kids in the next room and them going to the bathroom! They put me next to the laundry, that drove me nuts and I didn't get any sleep.”

• Pool was large, and heated. Right off the freeway which was very convenient!
• The front desk staff wasn't always friendly, maid service didn't come till late in afternoon.

“We loved the pool, the room was beautiful (even if it smelled funny), and it was in a very convenient location. Hard to believe that it is has been remodeled though, it still looked old and a little dingy to me, and the air conditioner in the room was horrible! It was a wall unit that was either on or off, not central air where you can set a temperature and click to auto, so if we weren't freezing we were sweating. Then I forgot conditioner, and guess what? They are the first hotel I have ever stayed at that said they don't offer complimentary conditioner if you forgot it! The maid service didn't come till late in the afternoon, around 3 or 4, I guess because we weren't leaving that day? We had to go down to the lobby to wait for half an hour while they cleaned our room. The front desk staff wasn't always friendly either, which doesn't sit well with me. I would also suggest calling ahead to see if they are having any kind of conventions, we happened to stay while there was a huge religious convention that over run the hotel, and I'm all for people having religion, but not when they take up all the lobby area, and are doing crazy things to each other that my toddler looks at and gets scared!”

• I liked everything about this hotel. Bedding, room appearance, pool ambiance & customer service were all stellar!
• Although I have nothing negative to stay, I thought complimentary breakfast was included at all Holiday Inn. Express locations only!

• Close to the areas we were interested in.
• Housekeeping kept forgetting to clean the coffeepot.

“They put us in the suite building, our room there was about the same size as a regular hotel room but with walls separating the bedroom from the sitting room. TV's in each area, a little strange. We had a small fridge and a big, buzzing microwave straight from the Carter era. Everything was
pretty clean. Overall it was a good stay and I'll try to stay there again.”

• Extra comfortable bed, soft sheets, mostly modern.
• Towels were rough, keyboards for computers were dirty.

“Conveniently located off the freeway. The sleeping accomodations were wonderful. The bed was ultra comfortable, more so than my new $5000 bed at home. The sheets were soft and the pillows were very comfortable. The room was mostly updated. The staff was helpful and friendly.”

• Business travel being put next to families with children.

“I checked in late and was tired and had to get up for a meeting the next morning. I was put next to three bus loads of families that checked in just ahead of me. The kids ran the halls, yelling. Definitely no consideration for business traveler. Won't stay at this Holiday Inn again. There needs to be a policy of families on one floor, business people on a separate floor so you don't have to put up with kids and teenagers laughing, joking, yelling, and running up and down the halls.”

• There was a coin-operated laundry room available; cookies and apples on the counter; water available in the lobby; free WiFi in room.
• The heat in Arizona would make it nice to have covered parking.

“We were quite pleased with this hotel. The microwave oven, refrigerator and coffee maker were all appreciated and used by us. The room was cool, clean and comfortable. The water dispenser in the lobby was terrific, enabling us to fill our water bottle before leaving. The staff was helpful and friendly. I would stay here again. We stayed at two different hotels in the Phoenix area, this one was the better of the two.”

• The shower was great. Lots of times, when staying in hotels, the water pressure is terrible.

“This hotel is located right off of the US60 Freeway and is easy to find. There is a mall 1 mile away. A very good breakfast/lunch restaurants across the street called Crackers and Co. Nice pool area and very clean hotel. The staff was very friendly and pleasant to deal with.”

• Willing to accommodate me, but unaware of management issues.
• Changed rooms 3 times, manager unaware of work order rooms.

“This hotel appeared nice from the outside but was not clean, I found two antes in the room I stayed in and got a bug bite from the sheets. I had to change rooms twice, they did not know a room they put me in was under construction, the air conditioner did not work. The ceiling looked like it was 6 feet high, very short and the carpet was very dirty. I felt like they cleaned with Windex but did not ever really do a deep clean. Also, I did not like the smell of the room. The rooms are very old. I would never stay there again to say the least.”

“Overall it was not bad. When we checked in I felt like they would not give us a bigger bed. We ended up having to pay $10 more a night to sleep us all. My husband and I are not small and we were sharing 2 full size beds with 2 kids. They would not help us out and let us have queen size beds. I know the hotel wasn't full.”

• The staff was welcoming and accommodating and the room and lobby deco was very nice.

“I highly recommend this hotel to the traveler looking for freeway close hotel, convenient for traveling to many local sites. The lobby was beautiful and our room was beautifully painted and decorated. Coffee, microwave, refrigerator, TV and amenities. Great place to stay. Very comfortable. Staff at desk and manager were very kind.”

• My room was expansive, extremely comfortable and modern. lots of room to spread out and did not have the desire to leave the room for a space.
• Since this hotel was in Phoenix, AZ and temperature was usually over 100 degrees that they would have a better or larger pool and pool area.

“I stayed at 3 different hotels while in PHX. This is for the Hilton in Mesa, AZ. This hotel is very suitable for solo or couples business trips. it is located just off a major highway and adjacent to large mall just in case you needed anything you forgot. Very nice hotel.”

• Poor lighting, one mirror wasn't enough. Beds not big enough for two to share and sleep well.

“A little disappointed for a 3 star hotel. The room was dark so we asked to be moved to another with better lighting. The light bulbs in two of the lamps didn't work. I think if they put a mirror out side the bathroom it would make getting ready easier. One could be showering while the other puts on makeup or does her hair.”

• The paint job looked old and patched. It really took away from any of the new furnishings.

• Day front-desk staff, a "bit stand-offish".

“This hotel stay was no less. The Mesa Holiday-Inn was clean, quiet and had every amenity needed for the business traveler. The housekeeping staff are very polite and the front-desk staff are sufficient. I will definitely stay here again.”

• The pool was unheated and unused by anyone.

“The main reasons I chose this hotel were location and child friendly swimming pool. We had to use a pool at a different location during our 4 day stay. At checkout, the hotel desk clerk was indifferent when I explained we were not comfortable with the pool being unheated. No compensation was offered.”

Would have like to seen a complimentary breakfast bad points: The bath room was small you had to close the door to sit on the toilet and get to the shower, Shower smelled of mold and there was mold next/ behind toilet and at shower grout line.”
