• Every person that I encountered at this hotel was friendly and very helpful. It only took 2 minutes to get the sewing kit I requested from housekeeping!
• There wasn't anything that I didn't like.

“Beautiful hotel, nice, view, very clean, modern and within walking distance of numerous high quality dining/bar options. The staff was very attentive, efficient, and friendly. Hotel is also within the free zone of the light rail system which makes getting around very easy.”

• The location is in the heart of the city, with free trax to the gateway and ESA. it was lovely and well kept.
• The parking was tricky and the worst part was that there wasn't any late night dinner options on or nearby.

“Overall, this was a nice hotel for the price. The trax line made it very easy to get where we needed to go. I will definitely stay there again, next time I will make sure to bring my own midnight snack.”

• The elevators would not go sideways. The place was great!

• Valet parking attendants were very quick and polite. People in the restaurant were wonderful!
• We wanted a king size bed and had 2 very small ones, also wanted an outdoor pool.

“When I checked in and the girl at the front desk switched me to a room with 2 small beds instead of a king size bed.”

“I really enjoyed having a place for my grand children to make memories that was fun and memorable. We swam in the pool, watched a cartoon with popcorn. It was fun. I loved how clean and comfortable it was. Everyone was wonderful. I had hard time finding this place, because the sign was little.”

“At the internet rate this hotel was a tremendous value. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff was efficient. And the gym was first rate for a hotel. I will make it a point to return here when I am in Salt Lake again.”

• We were greeted in a warm and friendly manner. The lobby was very clean and inviting as was our room.
• Having to pay for parking. We were awakened very early in the morning by workers who were loud in the hallways outside our room.

“The hotel was very clean and the staff was very accommodating. However, we were looking for a night away, just to relax and sleep in for once - time away from the kids! We were sadly awakened around 7:30 in the morning by workers out in the hallway speaking very loudly into their two-way radio about where they were at in the hotel and what they were doing. It's not that I don't expect that they would have to communicate about things, especially when breakfast is often served to individual rooms at that hour of the morning, but they really were too loud, and the conversation continued for so long that we could not even think to go back to sleep. In the end, I would say that the Marriott is probably ideal for business travelers, those who don't intend to sleep in or who are not necessarily staying there for vacation purposes.”

• It was clean.
• Must pay for parking, no breakfast, refrigerator, laundry & small beds.

“This was a nice hotel with clean rooms. It was a good value and I would stay there again. However, I would have liked to know: There is no free parking anywhere near the hotel. So, be prepared to pay $12 a day. There is no continental breakfast. There isn't a refrigerator in the room. There aren't any laundry facilities in the hotel. You have to walk to a laundry mat. We got a room with two beds and the beds were smaller than full-size beds. So, plan to be cozy. These five things were annoying, a hassle, and I wouldn't have expected them in a four star hotel. But a clean room is very important to me and my room was clean. So, I'd give it three stars and stay again.”

• Beautiful room / beautiful hotel.
• Rooms did not have remote or shampoo!

“I am a Utah resident and have stayed at this hotel previously. As a repeat customer, we were very excited for our stay. As always, the rooms and hotel are gorgeous. I found the staff lacking and was extremely irritated to find that in one room I did not have a remote to which I had to request two times, the second had no shampoo, soaps, etc. Shockingly enough I also found the baggage handler a little greedy with tip.”

“The hotel was beautiful. I did not expect it to be so upscale. The room was elegant and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was lovely. The parking situation was a little annoying, but then again, the hotel was right in the middle of downtown. Excellent.”

• The bed was comfortable.
• That you had to have a $50 deposit and pay for parking.

“The hotel was nice but not what I expected a 4 star hotel would be. They didn't inform us that there would be a $50 deposit to even get the room and it was $14 for parking with the Valet and $12 without, the room service prices were pretty crazy like $10 for pancakes, it was nice but overrated.”

• I am familiar with the Marriott hotels and this hotel met my expectations.
• I was worried about the steps that one had to climb to reach the lobby. Perhaps there is another entrance for physically challenged people.

“The Marriott hotels are always reliable for cleanliness, good service, and friendly service personnel. I am pleased there is no smoking anywhere in the hotel/s. I wish that the Marriotts would get rid of adult movies. They are owned by Mormon people so should not have adult movies available for anyone.”

• Can't think of anything to write, loved everything.

“Hotel was easily accessed, just a few blocks from freeway exit. Check in was a breeze, room was spacious and luxurious. Bed was comfortable and linens great, can't think of anything I didn't like, except I requested room service way too early and they showed up on time.”

• The rooms were quiet and the hotel was within easy walking distance of nearly everywhere we wanted to go.
• There was a self parking fee per day.

• Did not get my room cleaned until I asked at 5:30 in the evening.

“I was away from the hotel for pretty much the whole day both times as well. The first time I thought it was a mistake and the 2nd time I thought that maybe you have to ask, so I did but they acted like I was out of place.”

• It was a comfortable room. And, I liked the movie selection.
• I don't think we should have to pay for parking, when we are paying to stay there. Staying there should include our car staying there too.

• It was beautiful, good location, excellent staff, and friendly.
• Parking /entry to the hotel not convenient. Had valet which incurred an additional expense but was really the only way to be able to get in/out.

“My husband and I needed to a funeral for a family member near the downtown salt lake area. Much of the area is older and were wanted a quality hotel we could feel comfortable in. The Marriott city center far exceeded my expectations. They have zero parking. You have to pay even to self park. The valet was quite convenient but at $14/day plus tipping added a bit to the price. Good thing we got a great rate.”

• Lots of pillows, very comfortable, nice clean bathroom.
• No tub, neighbors alarm clock went off at 6, walls were too thin.

“This was a nice hotel. We were awaken at 6 am to the neighbors alarm clock, and the hotel attendants came up to see if they could hear it and couldn't so didn't do anything about it. We just had to wait for it to finally go off. Other than that it was very nice!”

• I liked its convenient location and how new the hotel is.
• The reservationists left a lot to be desired - very poor performance.

“I booked a room in my brother's name. It was my brother's weekend last Saturday 8/11; and the room I purchased was supposed to be for him to enjoy the night before his wedding. He checked in - and his credit card was taken and a new room booked in his name. The staff ignored and went ahead and booked him again - and at a higher rate! My brother called to express that he was concerned that he would be charged for the room. I called reservations at this location, and they first said they could see the reservation at all - and second that I should call back another time and speak with accounting. I didn't let them off the hook, and after about an hour of run around and me eventually visiting them in person, they cancelled my reservation - and lowered my brother's new room rate to be what I had previously reserved - and I was ultimately able to remove his card from the room charge and place down my own. This run around was very inconvenient! I'm concerned that I will be double-charged for rooms that evening!”

• You have to pay extra for parking.

• This hotel has rooms that connect and the staff was very helpful in getting us two to connect that met our needs.
• The restaurant downstairs was a little inconvenienced at 9 p.m. when we asked if we could dine. They do not close until 10. We chose not to eat there.

“Friendly staff, everyone is very pleasant. Our bellman was extremely helpful as well! Do not love parking in salt lake city.”

“Hotel staff was very professional. My kids enjoyed swimming and loved the room. Room was very clean. Room Service dinner was terrible customer rep called and asked if everything was O.K. and she was so nice I didn't want to tell her how bad the food was.”

• In door pool was drained for service and we were not notified in advance.

“I stayed with my family. The hotel was clean and modern. The state capitol is right up the street and the theater is close by. Lovely in door pool and awesome work facility with plasma screens on machine. A little far from the freeway.”
