• Nice bed and pillows.
• They charge you for everything (parking, internet, water, etc.).

“If you want to pay for everything you want to do, then go here. If not, find a Hampton or something that includes something more than towel usage.”

• There was a Starbucks in the lobby.
• The rooms were small and plain.

“The lobby makes this hotel look like the 4-star hotel I chose. The rooms, however, were ripped from Motel 6.”

• Location, easy to get to, great health club.
• Construction everywhere. kind of a drab hotel.

“If you're going to see the Mormon Temple, You're right across the street. It's the old "Marriott" hotel, been there, done that, but it works.”

• The restaurant was helpful and allowed us use a private room for a family gathering.
• We had I-phone ear buds stolen while our car was valet parked and will not return our phone calls.

• Great shower. Tons of volume and pressure. Consistent temperature.
• Tired. Peeling wallpaper, torn carpet. Small bathroom.

“Well located to the salt palace and the rest of Downtown. Staff is friendly, though some lack professionalism. Facility is tired and in need of major room renovation. Rooms and bathrooms are cramped and somewhat uncomfortable in spite of upgraded linens. Overall, not bad and it met my needs for business travel that didn't require much time in the room. Definitely in the three star range, not four.”

• Room 1207 toilet not firmly attached to wall. Parking was $12.00 per night.

• Marriott name assures some level above the average.
• This facility is getting very dated and needs an upgrade but will not likely get it anytime soon.

“The Marriott needs some TLC/upgrade in rooms. Really showing its wear. SLC is going thru a major remodeling, so this Hotel will continue to need upgrading until it is not burdened with the NOISE and dirt from nearby construction.”

• Very nice rooms.
• Did not warn us of the loud construction around the building.

“The room was very nice. They offered us a complimentary fruit bowl and drinks, but they then forgot to deliver it until late in the evening. They put in a room with a view but forgot to tell us that the loud construction noise would begin at 0700. Not happy with the Marriott.”

• Great staff, everyone very friendly, fast room service.
• Bathroom was a bit small - had to move furniture to find an outlet to plug my cell phone charger into - unless I wanted to put it in the bathroom.

“I would stay here again. The room service was quick and the food is good - very reasonably priced. Everyone I came in contact with was helpful and very nice. This location is convenient to everything; airport, Temple Square and other must see places in SLC. Clean, towels are soft and fluffy, bed is super comfortable.”

“The Marriott hotel has always been a good place to stay. The construction in this area has made this location a bit hard to get to and hard to walk around due to closed sidewalks.”

• When arriving in the rooms fragrance was clean.
• The noise from the bar across the street is went until 12:30 and sounded like it was in our room.

• Attendant in garage was very unkindly and curt the first time we encountered him.

“Generally what I expect from a Marriott. Did not provide bill under door. Didn't know I was a Marriott rewards member. Paint peeling from bathroom ceiling and door. View out window was a major construction site. Wife not pleased.”

• There isn't a negative thing I could say about this hotel.

“This is one of my favorite hotels in the world. The staff is international in make-up, which helps to provide the hotel with a high level of class. This hotel has a first class staff.”

• A/C was not very efficient.

“Top location for most SLC destinations, excluding the ski resorts. Very convenient to downtown area and cultural events. (I went to the opera at the Capitol Theater and a concert at Abravanel Hall as well as walked to two eating spots.)”

• Good downtown location, good view of the city.
• Very dated and the main restaurant had a ski lodge motif.

“The hotel is more like a 3.5 star rating, and there is a ton of construction going on around it making parking and leaving difficult. Also, parking is $10-$15 per day in the hotel garage and at times it was full. Nothing like a six block walk to the hotel at 1 am after parking the car to wake you up.”

• The beds were great!
• The bar was freezing! And the restaurant food was not good.

“The location was perfect for our travels. The convention center is right across the street and the delta center only 2 blocks. So we just parked at the hotel and walked to the events we went up there for.”

• The bed was super comfortable and the staff was helpful.
• The room was a little small for my liking, but very clean.

“I would definitely stay in this hotel again. It was very clean and comfortable. It is also located just next to a tax station so it was easy to get around. It is in the middle of it all, just one tax stop away from the gateway mall and within walking distance of temple square.”

• We love the comfortable beds.
• We did not get the king size bed we requested.

“Besides our disappointment with 2 double beds, we had a nice time. To make the best of our situation we rearranged the furniture in order to push the beds together. Their beds are always very comfortable and that is one reason we love staying here.”

“My room was an excellent room. I got held up in a meeting and had to check out 1.5 hours late and this was no problem at all for the staff. They seemed to want to exceed your expectations in all areas.”

• I loved the bedding and mattress it was wonderful. The quality of the bathroom products were top notch and some of my favorites. We loved our stay.
• The room was a little bit small but not bad.

“It is within walking distance of many outstanding sites to see in Salt Lake. There is a great restaurant right in the hotel. The pool was great, covered at night open to sun in the day. The exercise area is open and easy to access right from the pool area. There was a great locker room. Hot tub was great. We had a beautiful view from our window of the Temple on Temple Square. Relaxing and enjoyable.”

• The beds are so luxurious, you never want to get up!
• The pool was very crowded at night with noisy teenagers.

“Our stay was absolutely excellent except for the pool. The rooms and lobby were decorated in a smart, yet casual fashion. The staff was courteous and friendly. Although we had to pay $14 per night for valet parking for our car, it was worth it to have their service available at any time. (Too bad a car wash did not come with the price.)”
