“I would never stay there again, house keeping was half assed. Rooms are very small, very hard beds.” Apr 9, 2006 by
Rich from Livermore, CA
“Great location and super convenient to the best restaurants in downtown Salt Lake City. I liked the fact that I could walk only a block or two to anything that I needed. The staff there was very helpful and attentive.” Mar 4, 2006 by
Lisa from Rangely, CO
“This hotel was very quaint and historical with a friendly staff. ” Mar 3, 2006 by
Wyn from Teton, ID
“We enjoyed the Perry Hotel but were unable to sleep at night because of the noise in the parking lot. There are 4 bars within 1 block and people were partying in the parking lot after the bars had closed until 4:30 a.m. I'm surprised the hotel doesn't do something about this. I won't stay there again.” Mar 1, 2006 by
Amy from Lander, WY
“We had to pay extra for a second bed. Great rooms and location. Parking cost extra. I would stay there again.” Feb 26, 2006 by
K from Superior, CO
“This charming historic hotel is conveniently located for a solo business traveler. The tiny but elegant room reminds European hotels but it has good water pressure. The breakfast buffet at the adjacent restaurant was very reasonable. Enjoyed free star bucks and tea at the lobby all day long.” Feb 22, 2006 by
Tammy from Idaho Falls, ID
“We actually really liked the hotel. I was not real sure at first, but was quickly won over by its charm. My son said it felt like the setting of "an old mystery, murder novel". We liked it. The rooms are small but charming.” Dec 3, 2005 by
Daniel from Vernal, UT
“From the second we entered our room we were let down. The staff admitted that we were given a one person room, and that they often have problems controlling the temperature in the rooms. At 11:30 at night, my spouse spent quite some time trying to unclog an old toilet, then it flooded over the next morning. One could barely step in front of the bathroom sink without bumping into the toilet. It was a free standing sink in the bathroom with no counter top to place toiletries. there was no phone book in the room and the alarm rang at midnight waking me up. The street was noisy below our room which was annoying during the night. Poor location. The lobby had a musty odour. We ate breakfast at another hotel which offered it to us for free because they heard of our miserable experience. We paid anyway because it wasn't their fault. They had more sympathy than the staff at Peery Hotel had for us. Oh, they did offer us a discount for our unfortunate experience. We go to Salt Lake City quite often. Thanks.” Nov 20, 2005 by
Bradley from New York, NY
“It is conveniently located and has a small hotel feel while offering amenities of larger hotels. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The customer service at Peery is really what makes the difference.” Nov 16, 2005 by
Kelly from Price, UT
“We really enjoyed our stay at the Peery in Salt Lake City. It is an old hotel early 1900s, but the cozy rooms have been redone beautifully. They have an antique feel, even the bathroom was tiled in white and black, with a pedestal sink. The doorman was extremely helpful, inquiring as to whether we had dinner plans and offering to make reservations for us at the restaurant we spoke of. The lobby is elegant, filled with antiques.” Nov 15, 2005 by
Mike from Pocatello, ID
“The hotel staff was less than professional and unhelpful when I asked them to explain things like the $9.00 charge to park on the premises. The other guests were not happy to see my young family entering the hotel. The rooms were very nice, but the overall experience was less than enjoyable.” Nov 15, 2005 by
Julia from Elko, NV
“My only problem was a bathroom sink drain plug that would not close.” Sep 6, 2005 by
Darrin from Sandy, UT
“The Peery Hotel is close to a number of activities in downtown Salt Lake. The hotel is full of early 20th Century grace and style that today's cookie cutter hotels lack.” Aug 28, 2005 by
Christine from Moab, UT
“Great location with helpful friendly staff. Lovely decor and fine linens which make the smaller rooms as comfortable as possible.” Aug 25, 2005 by
Kelly from Layton, UT
“Nice looking hotel, but the staff seemed unsure what they were doing. We were put into an occupied room, charged twice for the room and our children had to sleep on the floor because they had run out of rooms with two beds.. It was a dissapointing night.” Aug 25, 2005 by
Jon from Brigham City, UT
“When we first got to the hotel we realized the rooms were very small...too small. So we requested an upgrade in room size. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. It is an historic hotel, originally built in the early 1900's it has been renovated, but keeps the same feel of its day. Original doors windows decor etc. There is no pool, or in room movies...bathrooms are very small some with no bathtubs. We enjoyed our stay because of the upgrade in room.” Aug 22, 2005 by
Bill from Logan, UT
“Friendly Staff, very helpful. Restaurant very good but a little pricey. Lots of other restaurants close. Free Internet! Wine and cheese guest reception. Historical hotel that has been remodeled. Everthing is very nice and clean.” Aug 21, 2005 by
Stephen from Spanish Fork, UT
“While this hotel is a historic landmark of Salt Lake, it is better suited for business travelers that don't want the modern conveniences of high speed internet, continental breakfasts or pool/spa ammenities. Definately not a fun vacation hotel. Rooms are extremely small and priceline purchases as given lowest priority. Rooms were very small, only 1 queen bed with the small vanity in the room. Bathroom was in a narrow hallway with a small shower next to it. If you are looking for hotel with historic charm and somewhat near downtown without the frills of a large room or hotel extras, this would be a good hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone wanting modern conveniences, fun ammenities or vacation travelers with family.” Aug 21, 2005 by
Victor from Pocatello, ID
“Peery Hotel has and elegant antique charm and atmosphere. Christophers, the resturant at the Peery is wonderful with a great bar. Late afternoon, hourdourves and wine are surved at no cost to regestered guests. Parking is very close. The Peery is located very close to downtown and the Gateway Mall. A number of great resturants are within easy walking distance.” Aug 21, 2005 by
Jim from Hollywood, FL
“The hotel is an old apartment building converted into a hotel. Rooms were very small. Bathrooms were tiny. Bed was nice. They had wireless internet connection but they did not have working wireless units for use. Very frustrating. I would prefer not to stay there again.” Aug 20, 2005 by
Jim D. from Green River, WY “When we arrived at the Peery Hotel, they did not have a room for us. They had overbooked.” Aug 2, 2005 by
George from Long Beach, CA
“Wonderful hotel, could have easily been a 4-star. Front desk, managers, and bell staff all excellent. Very happy with purchase.” Jul 7, 2005 by
Mike from Durango, CO
“The historic Hotel Peery is an escape from the boring cookie-cutter downtown hotels in midtown Salt Lake City. It's gracious and elegant, but not stuffy. The staff is excellent, and the on-property restaurant, a steakhouse, was truly a delight. Even on a packed Saturday night with a convention in town, the waitstaff gave us the most prompt attention, quick service and even a complimentary dessert. What a treat! The Peery is my new favorite hotel in Salt Lake - avoid the Hilton, Little America and other bland places (unless you enjoy ant-like conformity). The only bad part of the hotel is that it has a couple of really, really tiny rooms - rooms so small that there is no space for even a sitting chair. In these tiny rooms, the bathroom door can't be shut unless you practically stand in the tub. When you confirm a reservation, avoid room 219. There might some other ultra small rooms, too. The other rooms are spacious - and all rooms are clean, elegant and tastefully decorated.” Jul 5, 2005 by
Mary from Portage, MI
“Very helpful staff” Jun 27, 2005 by
Kim from St. Joseph, MO
“The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and the location was perfect. However, we had 4 people traveling in our party.” Jun 14, 2005 by
John from Oxnard, CA
“This hotel was built in 1910 and recently remodeled. Had high ceilings, rickety elevator, definitely not ready for handicapped people, (many steps)... Was close to downtown, ( three blocks) and yes, I will stay there again..” Jun 13, 2005 by
Wanda from Rainier, OR
“The decor was beautiful and the hotel very clean..the bellhop was very, very helpful in helping us w/direction, places to eat, etc..” May 16, 2005 by
Joanne O. from Idaho Falls
“We love it and are headed back for another stay. The staff go out of their way to take care of you. This is a fun place.” Apr 11, 2005 by
Chris from Orem, UT
“This is a neat hotel but it is not a 3 star hotel It was fun and in a nice location but small rooms and small bed. For the price there are alot of other better hotels that are not rated as 3 star.” Mar 31, 2005 by
Danny from Rock Springs, WY “I wasn't pleased with the size of the room. I have three kids, myself and my wife and they only had one queen size bed, which wasn't enough room. We ended up staying at another hotel and still having to pay for the Peery Hotel. ” Mar 31, 2005 by
Jewel from Spanish Fork, UT
“Wonderfully suprised at the overall experience. The older facility has been renovated and creates a unique, definitely 3 star experience. As first time users, we were very pleased.” Mar 25, 2005 by
Richard from Smithfield, UT
“Upon arrival we were delighted with the elegant and spacious lobby which was very tastefully designed and appointed. At the moment I stepped up to the front desk, it was apparent that something was wrong. There was no friendly greeting despite the fact there were several staff there and I was the only customer there. When I told them my name I the agent rustled through some papers and shoved a letter in my direction and stating that "there was a booking error" and we would not be staying at the Peery Hotel. I was told we were being put up at the Best Western Motel down the road and that the Peery would take care of the Motel bill. I was clearly disappointed and displeased.” Mar 22, 2005 by
Pam from Vernal, UT
“The overall hotel may qualify as a "3-star" but the rooms you get, are not of that quality. We had this happen in Idaho, Las Vegas, and Salt Lake City. The Peery hotel has remodeled older rooms which are very, very small. They are like a box, and the shower was horrible!! So small you could hardly turn around. No bathtub.” Mar 7, 2005 by
Nina from Queen Creek, AZ
“I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would stay there again. The staff was very helpful and friendly.” Feb 25, 2005 by
Terry from Roosevelt, UT
“Service was polite and helpful. Location was perfect and the hotel was beautiful and the room itself was very comfortable the robes and scented soaps were a very nice touch.” Feb 23, 2005 by
Jason from Providence, UT
“Great for a romantic get away. Would not be good if traveling with children.” Feb 23, 2005 by
Laurie from Idaho Falls, ID
“This hotel was nice yet didn't have room for our family to stay comfortably. Four do not fit in that small of a room. The ice machine on our floor didn't work and the noise from the traffic below made it hard to sleep. The fees for parking were horrible.” Feb 22, 2005 by
Tj from Logan, UT
“It is a nice hotel in downtown Salt Lake City. It is close to any major spot in Salt Lake. The staff was professional and good. Parking is an extra 9 to 12 dollars a day. Fitness Room is small but okay.” Feb 15, 2005 by
Kate S. from Woodbury, NJ
“Although the staff was friendly and helpful, I would not go back to this hotel. The room was extremely tiny; it had a bed, desk, TV, and a sink in the room. The bathroom was really narrow and you could not move around much in the small shower. The water pressure constantly changed to a small trickle and the temperature would change with it. The room temperature was always hot/warm and rather uncomfortable. The bed was right next to the door and you could hear everything that was going on in the hallway.” Feb 3, 2005 by
Norm from Phoenix, AZ
“This is my second stay and would like to come many more times. Staff is very attentive and personal. They make you feel welcome and actually seem to care that you have chosen to stay at their property. Business center is very accessible. The rooms are very classy with attention paid to every detail.” Jan 31, 2005 by
Richard from Costa Mesa, CA
“The hotel is old but beautifully remodeled. The rooms are small but have great beds, triple sheets, and pillows. The quality provided for the dollars paid is a great value.” Jan 17, 2005 by
John from Pocatello, ID
“It was a very nice place to stay, I would recommend it to everyone I know, and I hope I would be able to stay there again when I am in Salt Lake.” Jan 16, 2005 by
Joy from Rupert, ID “We were unable to go due to weather conditions; we were snowed in. We were denied a lovely stay and our money back.” Dec 9, 2004 by
Paul W. from Plymouth “Very clean & professional staff but zero amenities. No table in the room. No Chair in the room. The room was actually the size of a large bathroom - room for the bed and nothing more. The room was less than half the size of any other 3 star I have stayed at.” Dec 8, 2004 by
Nancy L. from Denver “The lobby was beautiful and the adjacent restaurant was lovely. However, my room was just a closet with very minimal bathroom facilities. There was no breakfast with the room.” Oct 20, 2004 by
“Was a very interesting hotel. The decor was turn of the century. It was clean and comfortable although the rooms were small.Coffee and hot chocolate pots were available if you were one of the first arrivals in the morning, otherwise none was left. No other continental breakfast was available although there is a restaurant in the hotel. Don't be surprised when you have to pay $9 to park you car each day.” Oct 19, 2004 by
“The Peery was very nice and had a comfortable, old fashioned feeling to it. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the people were very friendly. The room was a little cramped, but was nicely dressed. We were on the street side and so had traffic noises, but that was normal and expected, and didn't cause a problem. However, somebody was making a lot of loud noise somewhere in the hallway. It wasn't a guest and we suspected it might have been some kind of delivery or maintenance. It was very loud and woke us up and continued for quite a while. About the time I was ready to "give up" and call the desk, the noise stopped. We would stay there again, and we were very pleased with the rate we were given.” Oct 19, 2004 by
“We were pleased with our stay at the Peerey Hotel. It was close to most of the eating places that we would have chosen. The only thing I think needs changed is that it needs to be more handicap useable, hand rails in bathrooms and showers. The furnishings of the time period are really great.” Oct 13, 2004 by
“The mattress was as old as the hotel, built in 1910. Despite it's antique charm, the room and bathroom were very small, the walls were paper thin. We could hear everything going on outside, including some drunk people in the back at 2:30 in the morning. This hotel should be a 1 or 2 star, not a 3 star.” Oct 6, 2004 by
Holly J. from Vernal “The Peery Hotel is a beautifully restored historic hotel, in a great location for enjoying all the amenities of the city. It was surrounded with a great choice of dining experiences.” Hotel Representatives:
