- It was just ok.
- Fee for use of internet and other things which I was not going to use at all.
“It was just OK and nothing exciting. Typical southwestern Mexican style decor which was very clean. Arrived late at night with 5 hours sleep and surprised about $16 charge for services which I did not wish or need, i.e. internet services, parking, etc. I did not have any car.”

- The decor and the room were spacious and clean.
- The pool area was nothing special.
“The staff was very friendly. The room was very spacious, clean, and the decor was great. The hotel had a very nice appeal to it. We were not crazy about the pool area, nothing special to it. The location was nice, pretty close to Downtown Scottsdale. Would stay there again.”

- The beds were so comfy.
- No late check outs.
“Was told we could get a late check out of 2 or 3 pm prior to arriving. Lady at the front desk said no late check out. The hotel was not busy and it looked as if they could have put new guests in another room so we could have enjoyed the pool area and spa that day. Other than that it was a very enjoyable stay and only wished we could have enjoyed the grounds a little longer.”

- Nice area. Tipped staff is friendly.
- Untipped staff is rigid and unfriendly.
“This hotel is a resort in name only. The name is used to attract conventions and weddings. For those purposes this hotel is perfect and sits on a golf course (if golfin' is your thing). So if you are not golfing or conventioning or wedding there is very little at this resort that will satisfy you.”

- Would love a mini fridge to store things in, Sunday Paper.
“The Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center was a delight. Rooms were attractive, set in an old Spanish theme, beds were very comfortable. Loved the flat screen HDTV and options for On Demand. Great location, close to all the sites in Scottsdale. Could use a little updating on the exterior to make it more attractive. Pool was very nice. The bar, Sangrias had excellent food and pool tables. Fitness center was perfect. Overall a nice stay.”

- This is an absolutely gorgeous hotel/resort. If you want pampering then this is the place!
- There were noisy residents in the hallway next to our room yelling and no one did anything to curb the behavior. A king bed cost $20 more.

- Non-customer service oriented, poorly trained, and completely the opposite of the kind of image that hotel should want.
“I have stayed at 5 hotels in the Scottsdale area over the last 6 months. I have even stayed at a 'economy' style hotel that completely puts this hotel (Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center) to shame. Within the first 5 minutes of arrival, the staff was rude and condescending.”

- Great staff. Wonderful facilities. Rooms perfect.
- They forced us to pay a resort fee of about $16 per day.
“The Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center has the ambiance of an established facility but with all the most modern touches. (Flat screen television in the room, intimate pool settings, golf course proximity). The food is first rate at their restaurant. This facility is great for business meetings or personal recreation. There is covered parking, car rental onsite, and a concierge to get you anything else you might need. Old world etiquette was consistent. The staff opened doors for me every time I went through the front entrance. Personable staff. Reasonable rates. Much of the staff has been there for years.”

- The TVs were not working well at all.
“The hotel was very nice and the bar downstairs had great food and a friendly atmosphere. The location was great for the casino and nice restaurants within a mile. It was also nice that the resort was not on the main roadway, it seemed to be more secluded than I expected which was nice. The only downfall was the TV not working in either room we went to. The reception was bad and it put a damper on the weekend in our hopes of relaxing and watching some movies together.”

“This isn't a resort unless you count the golf course as making it a resort. But, it is nice, quiet, romantic, very few people at the pool so lots of space. Pool bar is great. If you want romantic without the crowds of a regular resort, this is the place. Sat out late into the evening, drinking wine at the pool.”

- The 4 screaming toddlers next door, they moved us to a different room.
“Overall great experience. Nice pool and pool bar. Great staff, the valet dropped us off and picked us up at a local restaurant instead of getting a cab since they were very slow that day. We were stuck next to a room of screaming toddlers at first, they had us moved to a different room in 5 minutes after asking. The hotel restaurant was a bit pricey but the food was good. Very happy overall, would definitely go back again for a romantic weekend getaway.”

- The casitas, lobby, and pool were quite pretty. The staff was also very friendly.
- There were many ants near the small pool. Garbage and room service trays were left in plain site during our entire stay.

- The staff was very helpful. The bellhops knew all the good places to go for food and entertainment.
- It was a bit difficult to get to because of road construction.
“I went there for 4th of July weekend with three children and we had a very good time. There are numerous parks nearby along with various eating establishments. They do add a $16 daily resort charge per room for use of the weight room, bike rental, tennis courts, etc. They only had adult bikes to rent so my 5 year old was very disappointed. We would stay here again.”

- Older hotel. Low ceilings, details in decor not done well - sloppy paint, broken shower tiles.
“When I arrived and was told I had to pay a resort fee, I was not happy. But I did it. They charged me to get a king sized bed which in all of the places I've stayed has been a free upgrade if available. Another $20/night. No paper on Friday, but that was because it was a holiday. So change the fee! The front desk requested a roll away from housekeeping, but when it had not arrived after 2 hours I called again. It came within five minutes. The woman setting it up knocked over a soda when she backed into a table. Then the next day we left our room at 10 am, returned at 4 pm to find it had not been visited by housekeeping. I called and they came right away, but I was truly surprised that they had missed us. I don't think I've ever been missed before, even by Motel 6.”

- I have visited this hotel four times over the last two years, because I like Scottsdale in general, but the resort more so, in particular.
- Restroom problems, AC broke down, and internet did not connect, no apologies made.
“During the third and fourth visit we made to this Resort, we experienced problems with the door keys (card keys) every time. After trying repeatedly, and failing, finally we were given new keys, but without any apologies or even a "sorry you had problems" type courtesy remark. In a competitive market, service is really important - and it does not take a Herculean effort to be kind. In the last trip we made (this would be our fourth in two years), the room we were put in had the internet not connected (I had to figure out that the router was not blinking, and then call the front desk), and the air-conditioning was not working (this is when the average temperature of the day was about 112 degrees). Also, the restroom flush leaked on and off. All in all, they finally moved us to a different room about 2 hours later. I think there might be some physical problems in some of the rooms, but, at least to me, the management might also want to be aware of extending some courtesies, like apologies or discounts or some kind of compensation type scenarios when these types of events occur. True, we were put into another room, but it would have been nice to just have someone, anyone, say verbally that "we are sorry you experienced some difficulty with your recent stay." We still like the resort very much and enjoy the amenities and the way the resort is set up, but were just disappointed by the lack of top-level professionalism at a supposedly top-level place.”

- I think the facility is overall excellent, but the $16 resort fee is not published until you arrive and there is no alternative.
- Paying too much for the room plus getting the resort fee of $16.
“This is my third time at this hotel. I am tired of it and do not want to stay here again. I have spent hundreds of dollars at this facility because it was so far away from the area my business was in.”

“We were taken aback by the 16.00 a day resort fee at first, but it included parking, gym fee, coffee lobby, bike rentals and more. Compared to the exorbitant parking-only fee (25.00) we were charged at a 4-star resort in San Diego, the 16.00 was a bargain. Landscaping and grounds upkeep is exceptional. Use of plants and vines is very inspired. The lounge featured happy hour prices, free pool at good tables, and great views of the adjacent golf course. Room was also exceptional. Service was not as good, especially the front desk register. She didn't look up when talking to me. She was gruff when responding to questions.”

“We loved our stay at this hotel, we would recommend to everyone. The grounds are very nice and hotel staff to the Manager were always very helpful. The rooms were very nice and we sleep like babies! We will come back soon!”

- Quiet, comfortable room and helpful staff.
- Would have preferred to have the "resort" fee charged upfront so it wouldn't be a surprise on arrival.
“The beautiful grounds, excellent and helpful staff. I disagree however with the charge of a "resort" fee which was levied after the room was purchased for obvious reasons.”

- Nice place, good staff at all levels.
- Early evening, pool area had not been picked-up/cleaned-up all afternoon.
“I recommend for a stay at a nice place/relaxing get-a-way, just don't get overly excited prior to arrival. The resorts hay day was 6-10 years ago. Beginning to need a little more detailed maintenance. Staff was super/friendly.”

- Landscaped beautifully, tranquil grounds.
- Waiter never approached us at pool to see if we needed anything.

- It is an older property but it is updated to look modern and beautiful. We would have liked to see a modern TV. Also the staff at the front desk were.
- The bed was rock hard & the pillows uncomfortable.

- There was a bar at the pool.
- There was a 16 dollar resort fee added on to my room per night.

- Cheap, clean sheets, convenient location.
- Layout required lots of walking through the parking lot, plus they added on mandatory fees.
“The brunch was completely overpriced room was relatively small, internet was not free, they added on a resort fee on arrival, and generally seemed like a typical Scottsdale resort, only without the waterpark, big bathtubs, or frills that you normally get at say the Hilton. It was more for older rich Scottsdale types or business travelers I'd say.”

- We liked the path around the golf course and walked in the evening and next morning.
- It was outdated, the pool area was filthy.
“This old-school resort was dingy and dirty. The pool area was filthy and littered with food trays, empty cups and cigarette butts! In the past, we mentioned it was our anniversary and both times at Camelback Inn we were granted an upgrade to our room. The dude at this resort practically laughed in our faces at the request!”
