• Bed quality was poor. Everything else was fine.

“If I could have gotten a decent night sleep, I would rave about the hotel. The bed was so uncomfortable that it was hard to sleep.”

• Individual units with small patios outside. Great view.
• A bit older. Small bathroom.

“Slightly older place, but well kept up. Individual units with small patios were very nice for sitting outside on warm Arizona mornings and evenings! Our unit was on the far west side and had a great view of Camel back Mountain. There is a running/walking path, a little less than a mile long, that goes around the resort. We used that a lot. The unit was quiet and comfortable. Comfy bed. A little tough to find your unit initially, but once you do, no problem after that.”

• Secluded casita rooms.
• Bathrooms, beds needs updating.

“Instead of purchasing new beds, a feather quilt was put under the sheets for a feather top effect. It felt like sleeping on a plastic bag. Lots of unnecessary charges - $20 for early check-in, $75 non refundable deposit for pets, $100 deposit for incidentals, $4 bottled water in room. Black mold around the tub, interior door chipped and ugly. Beautiful pool, nice grounds although a bit sterile, good maid service.”

• Mildew smell in room.

“I was very impressed with the resort when I walked into the lobby to check-in. I felt like I was going to a spa. It had that look and smell that you'd expect to get from a spa. But, when I checked into my room (room 102), I was a little surprised and disappointed by what I "smelled". It had been raining the day prior and the room smelled almost like mildew. I even opened my window to try to "air it out". My boss stayed in a room a few doors down from me and said that there was wetness on his carpet by the rear door. And, one of my co-workers said that their room also smelled like mildew. I'm not sure if we stayed in a part of the hotel that had not yet been renovated yet (my room looked quite old), but if we had been staying there more than one night we would have definitely requested different rooms. The grounds outside of the rooms were nice.”

• The staff (Brian in particular) went above and beyond to help.
• For a resort, the bathroom could have been more spacious.

• It left me speechless. It completely took my breath away. It is beyond 2.5 stars.

“This resort was above the star rating given. It is one of the most relaxing places I have ever been to. The staff is helpful and friendly, the rooms are neat and clean, moreover is has history. It speaks a lot for Arizona with the fountains, mountains and plants. It was beyond words!”

• Nice location, next to many options for dining.
• You have to walk a ways to get to your room from the parking lot.

“Grounds are beautiful, private spa in private courtyard, rooms are spacious, and clean. Internet TV. with wireless keyboard was nice.”

• The location was very close to many restaurants and shopping areas.
• At check-in, I felt like I was not being treated like a regular customer.

“We loved the location and the layout of the resort. The room was large and clean although you could tell that the resort was older. The pool area was great and they have a running track around the outskirts of the resort. The only thing that bothered me was at check-in. We arrived at 1:00pm and were told that our room would not be ready until 3:00pm. Another customer came in shortly after us and was given a room immediately. I felt we had to wait because we were a Priceline customer and hadn't paid the same price as the other one.”

• The hotel had very pretty grounds and some nice walking trails.
• We did not like the bedding. It looked old and worn and my wife was not comfortable with it.

“This hotel is in a convenient Scottsdale location, near downtown Scottsdale and some good restaurants. It had very pretty well kept grounds and a friendly staff.”

• Sitting Room with extra TV.
• Our suite was pretty far from the parking.

“The Lobby was very elegant, the employees very nice and helpful. Our room was wonderful with a sitting room and extra TV. We had a mini-kitchen/bar area with fridge. There was light in the closet, good smelling soap and two comfortable beds. We had a newspaper at our door each morning. Life was good.”

• The air conditioner was really loud and room was a bit of a walk to get to.

“Great hotel, great staff all very friendly. The only thing about our room I didn't like was the air was loud when it came on. If I could afford it I'd stay there again sometime or recommend it to others.”

• The staff was soo friendly and I liked they had a car to bring the guests around the town.
• They didn't have a fitness facility-but when I arrived the staff said I could use a different Marriot facility but they didn't mention that over phone
