• Very friendly and accommodating staff.
• The refrigerator has not worked for our last two visits, and the AC doesn't cool the bedroom.

“The staff at this hotel is stellar! The refrigerator in the room has needed work for our last two visits, and the air conditioning isn't very good. The room was uncomfortable to sleep in. Better for cooler months, perhaps. Anyway, the staff is the best we've ever met!”

• Located in a fairly quiet place, but not too far from a few restaurants including the old standby.
• Nothing major - there was no shampoo in the room so I had to go to the front desk.

“For a short visit, this place is fine. It's close to the freeway and you can hear and watch the traffic from the pool although we heard nothing from our room. The room was small, but adequate. The bed was comfortable and their is a pull out sleeper which is less comfortable. For the price it was fine. It has a fridge and cooking facilities which we didn't need as we were just overnight to collect people at the airport. If you come from the airport, make sure you get very good directions. We had very poor ones off internet and then the desk clerk also had problems directing us which resulted in a lot of wasted gas and extreme frustration. I later discovered it was right off a freeway exit which I could have easily located given better guidance.”

• Accessible, full kitchen, living room with fold-our couch. 2 TVs.
• Needed repairs.

“This Homestead Hotel is different from the others we've stayed in. Instead of a room, we got a one-bedroom apartment! We had to move furniture around in order to accommodate my wheelchair, however, but still possible. They do need to keep up on maintenance, however. Our coffee maker and one of the TV's wasn't working, and the towel rack was almost falling off. But, the staff was friendly, and we were given extra pillows on request, a new coffeemaker, assistance maneuvering the halls with my wheelchair (getting carts out of the way, doors etc.) This hotel is near ASU (and on a bus line), and I believes caters particularly to college students. It also has a community room with TV and tables, and a nice pool. I would be pleased to stay here again.”

“Nice place to stay and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. The only true complain we had were the beds were not overly comfortable and the walls were extremely dirty with even footprints that hadn't been washed off (looked like someone lay on the bed and put their feet on the walls). There were also key issues and we had to have our key reprogrammed twice which was very inconvenient. We highly value staff however, and this place did have top-notch people.”

• Compact, unclean, not designed for more than one person.

“Hotel not the greatest quality. Pool is unheated and the exercise room is unkempt. Hotel rooms are very tight, barely enough room for two people. Some places have just one bed. One whole floor smelled like smoke. Person on duty (jay) helped move us to non smoking room and proved very helpful. Close to I 10 and airport, but overall hotel quality was lacking.”

• Staff catered to my need I asked for a smoking room and I received an upgraded room to accommodate me.
• Not easily accessible to stores.

“The staff was fantastic. The rooms and hotel was very clean. Rooms had everything that a person could need. The only thing that was a disappointment is that stores are not easily accessible.”

• It has a desk and two office chairs but no kitchen table and kitchen chairs.

• No compensation for overtime hours worked by staff.

“Looked for plastic cup to rinse after brushing teeth. Looked in kitchen, found plastic cups and other assorted dishes with food on them in the dishwasher. Expected more in room amenities, more than a bar of soap. The one trip I decided to pack light. Could not get key card to work first time in room. Night person (blonde woman) had to be called from phone outside lobby. She stated computer down and could let me in my room. When I asked about another key card, she stated "well are you going to be coming in and out all night? No lobby coffee, no daily paper, no snack machines available. Male staff helpful with directions to hotel.”

“Made reservations for my next trip July 15th and I was told that I was refused to stay there, because of a harassment to one of the desk clerks. I did not indeed to such a thing. I was very friendly to all clerks and even cooked and brought them drinks and candy. So I will never stay again.”

“The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms and lobby was clean. I liked having the convenience of the kitchen. I would have liked a hot tub and pool. There were no nearby stores for groceries or fast food places within walking distance. Overall I enjoyed my stay, my price was wonderful, and I would not hesitate to stay again.”

• It was located in a nice area of Tempe in a secluded area.
• Services at the hotel were not explained to us and what was available to us.

“We loved the location of this hotel and it really did feel like an upscale hotel. The only thing we wished that it had; was a couch instead of the recliner, seeing there were two of us. One of us had to sit on an office chair. The area was gorgeous and quiet.”

“Normally all staff is friendly. The person who checked us in was friendly but the person who checked us out was horribly rude and very put out that he had to move from his cushy office. Very disappointing.”

• For the most part it was pretty clean and comfortable.

“It was ok when we finally got in, but because our confirmation papers weren't given to the night worker we weren't given a key card to our room we were just let into our room and couldn't leave. I think the night time worker needs to be trained to use the computer to check or reservations instead of being given confirmation papers from someone who works in the day. We weren't very pleased with our stay.”

• Flatware was scarce and one (of two) phone was broken (Im sure they didn't know).

“We were very happy with out accommodations. The desk clerk, patty, was helpful above and beyond the norm. The room was clean, quiet, wheelchair accessible, roomy, and offered both a complete (minus oven) kitchen and sofa area. Be sure to bring a few pieces of flatware and a can opener, however. These were scarce.”

“I like this place best of the hotels I have had in phoenix. It used to be quite upscale, but has fallen off some in the past two years. The rooms are quiet and well equipped; the water is hot and the staff members are friendly. It lacks a bit in upkeep, but makes up in general ease of use.”

• I liked the kitchen and suite arrangement.
• Absolutely filthy carpet, with accompanying smells.

“This homestead suites hotel is located freeway-close to most of the greater phoenix business area. The mini-suite room format targets the business customer perfectly, but is best-suited to the "no frills" customer who can extend some formidability on cleanliness matters --- which naturally result with in-room, chitchatted. Great staff in all respects.”

• Decent price for room type; clean, modern, & the kitchen was added benefit.
• Off the main road in unfamiliar city; not simple to find late at night. No problem w/ safety issues.

“The hotel and accommodations were excellent for the price I paid. The room was comfortable, clean, modern, and the kitchen was a terrific advantage. Thankfully, I was given a non-smoking room upon my request for such upon my arrival. The staff was most helpful. The morning person at the desk was valuable in helping me with driving directions to locations within an unfamiliar city. Thank you for the opportunity to share these words.”

• It was dirty, no service, no BF, coffee in room but no condiments

“I was very disappointed in this hotel. service was poor, room was dirty. dishes still in dishwasher. no breakfast not even coffee. they had a coffee maker in the room but it was still in the dishwasher and I had to go to the lobby to get cream and sugar, however they didn't have coffee or anything else.”

• The hotel looked quite nice from the lobby area.
• The request that was made was not honored and resulted in complications for me.

“After booking, I immediately called the hotel to ensure I could get a non-smoking room as I am an asthmatic. They said it would be no problem at all. I also asked for two beds as I would be traveling with friends. This also was no problem I was told. Upon arrival, the manager told me that the room was a single bed smoking and then, informed me that they were sold out for the night and could not do anything about it. The problem lay in the fact that when I called the hotel after booking I was assured it was no problem to get my request for non smoking, but on arrival it was suddenly a problem.”

• It was very hard to find it. The street it was on was tucked away from the main traffic and numbered oddly.

“We enjoyed our stay. Our pre and post trip nights were at the same hotel. We were able to leave our car there while we flew to Hawaii which allowed us to save airport parking fees and hassles (we used the Super Shuttle to come/go to the airport). ”

• The hotel was clean. The young man at the counter was very helpful.
• It was very hard to find the street it was on. We drove around in circles before finally finding it.

“I thought the property was very neat and clean (a big plus in my book). I always want Internet access at either a reasonable price (it was only $4.99 here for the length of my stay) or free.”

• There was an unruly group of young men (foreign) who made us slightly uncomfortable.

“A little hard to find, staff was polite but not especially friendly, rooms were large and fairly clean. Not fancy, no easily accessible restaurants in the immediate area. Didn't feel completely comfortable with safely issues.”

• Quiet location tucked away in business park area but very quick access to major freeways, very friendly staff, nice room, very clean and quiet.
• No local telephone book in room.

• They assigned me to a room not clean, sheets were up, towels on floor, etc.. very unfriendly, they made me feel like I'm not suppose to be there,,

“Good location, good cost but when I checked in they gave a room dirty,, I and far from a exit, they had plenty of rooms closer,, and the clear was unfriendly,, after going back to the clerk, I demanded they put on the first level,, and they did,, but with animosity, your cost and set-up is great but for a $69_99 room,, it wasn't good.”

• The mini kitchen was convenient and unexpected.
• The mini shampoo/conditioner/lotions weren't provided.

“This hotel would definitely be good for those on long trips, but also fits those on short trips. The room, while small, was laid out well so you didn't feel cramped. The bed was recessed so it felt like it had its own little space and wasn't crammed in with the rest of the furniture. If you do plan to stay take your own shampoo/conditioner because those aren't provided as some of the other hotel chains do. Convenient location, close to the freeway and fast-food.”

• It was like being at home with conveniences. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Adequate cooking utensils, quiet and the cost was awesome.
• The battery of my car had unexpectantly died and the receptionist was not helpful at all-could not even make a simple recommendation for help.

“My experience with the hotel's helpfulness and security were in questioned. I saw the side door to the hotel propped opened at 1 a.m. by a rug and when I attempted to call the front desk with questions, there was no one available to answer the call repeatedly. Otherwise, the room was great!”

• the location was very good.
• The bathrooms were not clean at all! It was nasty.

“I was not impressed by this hotel at all and don't plan on staying at another Holiday Inn! The bathtub looked as if it had never been cleaned! The service in the dinning area was very poor! There was only one waitress for the entire area and there were several people waiting! One couple got up and left because they had been waiting so long for the waitress to get their drink order.”
