• The accommodations were divine and the location was stupendous.
• Nothing.

“This hotel was beautiful. Unfortunately, we only stayed the night, but with amenities the hotel had to offer, we certainly wanted to stay longer. The staff and room service was fantastic. It made our brief stay in Phoenix, a pleasant one.”

• The water park.
• The closest swimming pool was closed, the water parks wave pool was closed, the refrigerator was not stocked.

“We were disappointed because we spent a little extra for the room because of the water park, but as I mentioned above the wave pool was closed, and when we wanted to go swimming in the evening we had to walk a long way to find a pool that was open. The family pool closest to our room was out of order. I know these things happen and are uncontrollable but our overnight stay wasn't what we hoped for.”

• Numerous activities for spouse and kids, i.e. Water park, Spas, golfing.
• High price in-room dining, tiny bathrooms, dated room decor, worn-out mattress on sleeper/sofa.

“I stayed at this hotel based on a recommendation from a local co-worker. I was visiting Phoenix for a business trip and my family was looking at local housing/neighborhoods for an upcoming relocation to the area. Overall my family enjoyed the stay which was 5 days, but I will admit that after the third day the inadequate facilities, worn mattress, tiny bathroom, one bathroom for a "two room suite" started to wear on everyone a bit. In addition, the bathroom only contained a toilet and the sink was located in the main bedroom, a major inconvenience with 2 kids and a wife. My package included water park tickets for the duration of our stay which was great for my kids who enjoy swimming and water based activities very much. The water park was very attractive and pretty clean for the most part. The "two-room suite" was clean but as I stated before the outdated decor definitely lowered the attractiveness of the room a bit. In addition, the balcony attached to the bedroom was covered in bird droppings which discouraged using that area. In closing, I observed that the resort is indeed upgrading; many of the suites based on the displays that I viewed in the lobby the upgraded rooms will be more attractive.”

“We went on the 4th of July for the water park feature. It was very busy. Not enough pool chairs or staff to work the enormous crowd. Ordinarily, it is probably fine but it was just way too busy to really relax.”

• The rooms need a little renovating, like the beds, floor, TV.

“This hotel was quite disappointing. The staff was friendly but unknowledgeable. The rooms were clean but in need of refurbishment. A lot of hidden extras and not a luxurious feel.”

• Very nice grounds, accommodations, rooms, entry.
• Rustlers Roost made us ill. Fillet was raw, ribs were greasy. Made us ill!

“Great for romantic getaways or family weekends. Superb accommodations. Avoid Rustlers Roost as food was not prepared properly and made us ill. 30' Latitude exceptional choice as well as Aunt Chillada's.”

“I thought that the hotel was over priced. Then they tacked on an extra 20 fee once we arrived. We requested a late check out and then were locked out of our rooms early. I don't intend on staying there again.”

• Relaxing, up class fame-friendly resort.
• Limited shuttle service. If you want to go off prop, you need a car.

“I travel 60% of my time on business. This was a leisure fame trip for spring break, kids are 8 and 6. We rented a car at the airport. Wife and I found it to be relaxing, up class fame-friendly resort. We picked Pointe south based on the water park and great location to the freeways to do other activities off property too (spring training baseball games, rawhide western town, go carting racing for the kids, downtown pHs, horse back riding, act).kids had a great time, lot to do at the resort water park and mom and dad can lay by the pool and relax and even enjoy a conversation and drink! Staff was very helpful; room was clean and large enough for 4 of us. Bathroom a tad small. But hey, you¿re on vacation and unless you have a high mint wife or teen girls, you can deal with it. A resort fee is additional that allows you to use the resort fac /accommodation. As long as you know this going in to this, you will do well; some find out at check in and feel put off. All in all, after reading the reviews, it was just on target of what I expected.”

• The grounds around the hotel are beautiful.
• The resort is a little difficult to Navigate due to its large size.

“This resort has a relaxed atmosphere and well maintained grounds. Because of the watermark it would be an excellent place for families to vacation. It is my understanding that the resort will soon be starting major renovations of the rooms which should make a stay even more pleasant. For the price, I thought the property was reasonably priced and I would stay there again.”

• It is a fine establishment.
• I was not aware the facilities fee was automatically charged.

“If I had known about the fee they charge to use the facilities, I could have made arrangements to have more time to actually use them. Otherwise, the trip was great.”

• Room service open late. Check out policy great, fair too! The whirlpool was nice and hot.
• A maid left a dirty rag draped over my toiletries case. Also, my sink and tub didn't drain well. A man showed up to fix it too early, woke me up.

“As a female 23-year-old solo business traveler I always look for a safe place to stay. It was as comfortable as staying at home. When I arrived on the property, I felt like a movie star. The Christmas lights and palm trees and fountains are gorgeous, grass perfectly manicured. The room was not decorated in tacky Southwest motifs, but in a tasteful, well-coordinated manner that reflected the South Mountain environment.”

• They had no idea of the reservation, charged full price, had to "work" to fix problem, and shouldn¿t have to!

• The price and the tennis and workout facilities.
• It smelled bad, it was dirty, and everything was poorly marked.

“This resort was remotely located in an undesirable and unsafe part of town. It is a sprawling complex with very poor signage - very confusing to the first time visitor. There was a bad smell - like an open sewer - we detected, especially in the elevator.”

“I would not stay here again. Resort fee is ridiculous and you got nothing for it. They had all the state final girls¿ basketball teams staying here and you can imagine what that was like. A definite avoid rip off.”

• The staff were very helpful and the grounds nice.
• The rooms were dark to the point of being dreary.

“The location is excellent with freeways close and the rooms quiet. The front desk staff was cheery and informed. The grounds were pleasing and kept. The rooms needed new furniture and TV¿s. The towels were thin in the rooms and at the pool. I did not expect to pay $16 a day resort fee. When a facility advertises their amenities they should be required to say if they come with added expenses.”

• The employees were VERY accommodating.
• I was charged a $16/day "resort fee" even though I did not use any of the resort amenities Better to include it in the cost of the room.

“Very large and beautiful. But, so spread out, the bell boys come pick you up in a van to take you to various parts of the resort. It wasn't really feasible to walk from my room to a resort restaurant!! The staff was extraordinarily helpful and courteous. Bathrooms were a little disappointing for this level of resort.”

• The water park was awesome!
• The bathroom was moldy.

“The hotel had a beautiful check in area the rooms were nice but the bathrooms were very small and a little moldy, not expected in a hotel of that stature. the water park was a blast and all the staff was very nice! Lots to eat near by and lots of fun to be at!”

“Hotel was probably 1st class when it opened in 1986 but little has been spent on rooms since then. instead money has been spent on very nice waterpark & sports facilities but rooms need to be fixed now. No plans currently for hotel to address this problem of old & outdated rooms.”

• Reading other comments before our stay made me cringe about 5 in a bathroom...they were just talking about the tub & toilet...great sink areas!

“This is a wonderful resort. We were so excited about the value for our dollar. The suites were reasonably priced and very spacious. Staff handled requests with efficiency. We would return and will be telling friends about our stay.”

• Every room is a suite. Great water park. Many restaurants to choose from.
• Was put in room at distant end of resort near parking lot and fwy, but nevertheless wasn't that far away from things.

“Great resort property. All rooms are suites similar to layout of an Embassy Suites. Marble counters, and nice furniture with leather accents. The water park was fantastic and great for kids. Several restaurants to choose from.”

• Room was terrible. Musty, horrible room location, very run down.

“Hotel is probably ok, we were moved from our original room as it was moldy and basically had holes in the walls. Someone came and sprayed Febreeze over our belonging while we were in the room. Very disappointing experience overall. ”

• The water park was amazing and the golf course was beautiful, great staff, clean rooms.

“Beautiful grounds, very pleasant staff, great for families with children, good location, close to the freeway, rooms were clean and modern, room service was prompt and moderately priced, great for a couples weekend get-away or summer vacation with the kids. Will definitely be staying here again soon!”

• Beautiful Grounds
• Small rooms and rain came in from the balcony and pooled on the carpet.

“This hotel was in an excellent location, close to freeways and restaurants. The grounds were beautiful, however, I didn't feel that the guest room was really what one would expect from a resort. It was quite small and unremarkable. Also when we checked in we found out that our reservation had been confused with someone elses with the same last name who would be checking in a couple of weeks later. It was never straightened out. ”

• Put in bad room ask for a change and hit for another $20 a day

“Put in a room next to the freeway on ramp- very noisy. Asked to moved to a habitable room and they said another room was $20 a day addtional. I stayed here the month before and was put in a nice room near the pool and golf course.”

• The Latitude 30 restaurant was wonderful.
• Location on the freeway. Room view of the freeway. Spread out. Needed vehicle to get from room to facilities.

“It would be ok for a young family who was going to stay put. I would have preferred a nice hotel. Definitely would not work for the elderly.”

• I loved the architecture of the hotel and the suites were decorated beautifully

“The hotel is a beautiful hotel. The rooms were very nicely decorated and it was a very pleasing place to walk around outside. It had lovely arch ways and outside seating by several fireplaces. We stayed there for our honeymoon 16 years ago, so it was great to return.”
