• Breakfast buffet was good.
• Having to walk by the smelly laundry to get to my room, charging for internet service.

• Large, spacious, clean room, quiet and above average in appointments and amenities.
• Central corridor was very dated and did not match with the beautiful room.

“The rooms in the hotel are actual suites with a living room, bathroom and bedroom. Everything is clean and the fixtures are all modern and elegant. Coffee and tea are provided as well as a microwave and mini fridge. The bathroom has an ample supply of soaps, shampoos, lotions, etc. I was very surprised to have such a beautiful room for the price. I only wish I could have stayed longer.”

• Good Bed and Heavy Curtains kept the sun out.
• Had to go outside to get to the room.

“Good hotel experience. The bed slept very well and the heavy curtains kept the light out; which was good since I arrived at 1 a.m. Room had a separate living room area - which was good. Shuttle service was very good, even at 1 a.m. Was a little disappointed that I had to go outside in the cold air to get to my room.”

“Centrally located. Free breakfast added to the attraction. Good wine by the glass at the bar. Our son loved the pool. Unlike in most hotel rooms, my wife found the bed very comfortable. The suite was spacious for the three of us. ”

• it was a suite- even roomier than a regular room.

“I wanted to surprise my husband with a romantic one night getaway on Valentine's day. It was 2 days before. I wanted it close to his work not only was it clean, comfortable, and beautiful, but it was a suite, so we had a refrigerator, microwave, desk, and seating area. it was the perfect way to spend valentine's day! we will stay here again.”

• Friendliness at check-in. A freshly baked chocolate chip cookie was given to me at check in with the compliments of the hotel.
• My room seemed a little run down and the parlor area was not cleaned. Remote for the television had no batteries in it and I had to call maintenance.

“This hotel was a great value and I enjoyed staying here. They also offered a full breakfast which was superb, friendly staff and early enough (started at 6am) so I could still enjoy breakfast and make it to the airport in time for my early morning departure.”

• The suite arrangement - separate bedroom, TV in both rooms.
• Shuttle to the airport departure information was not accurate - found out when ready to leave.

• The staff was extremely professional.

“I absolutely loved this hotel. I will no longer stay in any other in the area. The staff was extremely professional, the breakfast was good, the hotel was clean, the pool was lovely and heated, the bed was umber comfortable and the room was spotless.”

• Although I was put in a room beside the gym, I had a pleasant stay. Room was roomy and comfortable. Beds very comfortable.
• I ordered room service for dinner. The food was good, but it was not hot when I got it. Good thing there was a microwave in the room.

• Wonderful shelter from the buzz of phoenix despite its airport location.
• The carpeting was very dusty. My daughter's feet turned black!

“My family and I have stayed several times at the doubletree guest suites phoenix-gateway center in the last three years. We get excited about it every time! The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious and clean, airport noise is non-existent and the free breakfast never disappoints. We have stayed in many 3-star hotels across phoenix but this one is our favorite, no contest.”

• Bathroom fixtures are rather aged.

“This hotel (with trademark doubletree chocolate chip cookies on arrival) is located conveniently for airport commutes. The shuttle to the airport is prompt and courteous, the hot breakfast buffet included in the price of the room is excellent, and the rooms are equipped with microwaves and small refrigerators. All hallways are exterior, and the pool is outdoors also.”

• The room was a suite. The blanket was down. Towels luxurious.
• Furnishings in room were "older" but nice.

“The doubletree, phoenix airport is attractive and well located. The atrium and pool are lovely and inviting. The elevators are glass for a great view. Many rooms are suites. The bed and bedding are excellent. The towels are luxurious. Room service great. Food medium-high in taste and service. We would willingly return and recommend.”

• The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable. It was a much secured facility with a very safe atmosphere.
• I was very much pleased with everything. However they could add more to their breakfast buffet.

• I loved the service and attention from fresh cookies to a spotless room. I felt pampered.
• Charged for internet (although business center was free!).

“I highly, highly recommend this hotel. The separate bedroom suite was incredible. The room was spotless, linens were nice, and it even had a kitchenette. This would be perfect for families. I wish I hadn't been traveling alone, just to get more use out of it! Plus, they have a free warm buffet breakfast. Wow> I can't remember the last time I got that. And warm cookies when you check in. The pool and Jacuzzi were nice, and of course, for the airport location it can't be beat! A++++.”

• The free shuttle service to the airport and free full breakfast buffet was greatly appreciated.
• Could hear plumbing from all of our neighbors.

“The service provided by the front desk was very friendly and professional. They were very willing to help and offer whatever they could. The hotel is beautifully designed and the breakfast that is provided every morning was incredible. We were also very thankful for the airport shuttle service. We were able to ride the shuttle to the airport to see my brother off and then return to the hotel on the shuttle without worrying about directions and parking.”

• Hotel staff was very helpful in getting us directions around town, and finding dining that met our limited dietary requirements.
• Although it was close to the airport, it was not really close to most of the places we were visiting.

“Overall our experience of the doubletree was very pleasant. The staff was quite friendly and my children loved having their own room and TV. The amenities were great, too!”

“This doubletree is in a very convenient location, close to major highways and phoenix sky harbor airport. However, my husband and I were surprised by how quiet the room was, as we never heard the jets or any traffic noise. The room was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. I only wish we had been staying longer than the one night we were there!”

• Humid rooms that could only be ventilated by opening door.

“Family-friendly hotel with an endlessly friendly staff. The suites are very comfortable for a family of four. Full breakfast was an excellent way to start the day. The kids loved the pool, which wasn't the least bit cold in late December. This was our second stay at this hotel and it has remained our favorite because of the roomy suites and the great staff.”

“I had to stay in the valley for a business meeting the next day. This hotel's daily rack rate was 4 times what I paid and would have been worth it at full price. Spent 2 hrs in pool area talking to visitors to the valley of the sun and had a blast. Rooms very nice, beds outstanding and morning breakfast great! Only one bad experience in 15 uses and this hotel 5 out of 5!”

• That it was a suite and the bed was comfortable.
• Staff not that knowledgeable about area and not a lot of dining options.

We wanted a taxi the first night to take us to dinner in Scottsdale and they ordered us a town car taxi which ended up costing us a bit more...felt they just pushed that on us without a choice.”

• The rooms were comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet was wonderful & always my favorite thing at Doubletree is the warm cookies at check-in.
• The only thing I did not care for was the location of the hotel. It did not look like the nicest part of town.

“The location may not be great, but when you are inside the hotel, you cannot believe that it is in that particular part of town. It is a very nice hotel and we have always had a good experience whenever we stay at a Doubletree. Everything was great!”

• They changed our room after we found several problems with the original room.
• Old, needs renovating. strange design, lots of outside walkways up to and including the 6th floor.

“Friendly staff but they gave us one of the worst rooms. We complained and were given better accommodations. It is convenient to the airport with free shuttle. This place needs a serious redo. We didn't think it came close to our other experiences with Doubletree. Restaurant was mediocre but the staff was friendly and helpful as was the front desk.”

• The service was good, and the location was convenient.
• The overall aesthetic was rather industrial.

“The room met our needs, and we took advantage of the free breakfast -- I'm picky about my coffee, and the hotel's was decent. We enjoyed the happy hour appetizers, the pool, and the business center. Internet service was free, which was quite helpful. The service was good. The one thing I didn't like was the architectural design of the building -- it was rather industrial and sterile.”

• Included a breakfast buffet, and the room was quiet.
• I was in the very back and was surrounded by the cleaning staff - I had to work my way through them each time I left the room.

“They did not have a non-smoking room available for me except for in the very back. It was a handicap accessible room, and although very comfortable, it was a long way from the front of the hotel, and not very accessible. I had to weave my way through all of the cleaning carts each time I left my room. There was no ice available in any of the machines close by, but a very helpful maintenance man went to get some for me. The beds were good as were the pillows, but I did not feel safe to leave this facility at night by my self, even to go to the front of the hotel, and not be in my car. Just not a three star hotel in my mind, Thanks.”
