• Easy access from freeway and close to many attractions.
• Only one elevator not close to our room.

“With easy access from the freeway, and many outstanding attractions within two hours; this La Quinta was ideal for our stay. My suggestions would be to add microwaves in the room and another elevator.”

• Great location, excellent breakfast.
• Got stuck with a smoking room, smelled horrible.

“Great spot for the two nights we stayed. Very comfortable beds. The breakfast was great, there was a little bit of everything. The room was a smoking room and stunk very bad. We had to keep the window open and the air on at all times to try and air it out.”

• The room was nice, big, and clean. The kids Loved the Pool and I felt that they were safe.
• It was musty downstairs with the pool.

• Convenient location near interstate.
• Not very clean--my bathroom had not been cleaned, but I was allowed to check in anyway.

“Older hotel--needs updates in furnishings and more scrupulous cleaning. I was under the impression that there was a fitness room, but there was none. Friendly, accommodating staff. When I brought to their attention that my bathroom had not been cleaned, I was moved to another room immediately and offered a free movie rental (which I did not use). Not a bad hotel, but not highly recommended, either.”

• My kids liked the pool. It was close to the Layton hills mall.
• The mattresses were old and hard. The bed frame was wobbly.

“This is an ok place if you are in a hurry and don't spend a great deal of time in the hotel. It definitely wasn't romantic. I classify this place as a clean place to crash. The breakfast bar was just right. It came with the room.”

• It was easy to find off the freeway.
• The bathroom was not clean. It is at a very busy intersection. It was very hard to get out.

“It was okay, nothing spectacular. Like I said, the bathroom toilet had not been flushed and the shower had hair in it. I would rate it on a scale from 1-10, a 5.”

• Lengthy wait for very short distance to/from interstate. Door keys were difficult to operate.

“Easy to find, friendly staff. Took approximately 15 minutes to travel to/from the interstate-less than approximately 200 yards. The door keys were difficult to figure out. When you think they are inserted fully, you have to push even farther for them to activate. Only one elevator-made access to/from second floor difficult for elderly parents. Very close access to some great restaurants.”

• Front desk worker very nice.
• Bathrooms very dirty, carpet, mildew in toilet, urine on seat and surrounding floor.

“When checking in your reservations were right in front with pink highlight. We were given smoking rooms. Neither of us smoked. Very smelly and bothersome to the sinus. Our clothing smelled like cigarettes. The bathroom was very dirty and smelled of urine. Will never stay at the hotel.”

• Could use a little "sprucing up".

“Good location as per shopping, restaurants, quiet area. Continental breakfast was convenient, although not as varied as some we have experienced. The hallways could use some fresh paint, but seemed to be reasonably clean. Our greatest difficulty was that map quest showed it to be on the other side of the interstate which was a little confusing.”

• For the price I paid through this was a good deal. I have gotten great deals, this deal measured at good.
• Check-in was at 2:00pm we got there at 12:30pm and requested early check-in and they would not accommodate.

• The staff was very nice, and the breakfast was good.
• The shower heads are so low in the showers. It would be hard for our family to stay for too long. I am the shortest at 5'9".

“It was a good hotel for a one night stay over The directions that were given on the Internet were wrong. The exit was incorrect, and we ended up having to ask somebody where the motel was located. they actually took us to it, since it was back a couple exits. nice people in Utah.”

• The staff tried to be helpful.
• Pet friendly hotel not clean.

“When we first checked in there was a dog that wouldn't stop barking. We moved to another room and we had dog hair between our clean sheets and everywhere in the room. My daughter is allergic to dogs and this made her ill. If I would have know about this before I would have booked our group of 11 rooms somewhere else.”

• We were given a handicap room-shower hard to manage. These rooms should be reserved for handicap only.

“I am a regular customer of LaQuinta, and usually there are no problems. The morning clerk said that getting our reservations on line did not give us the option of choosing a different room.”

“The room was an average size - while it was nothing to write home about - it was sufficient for what we needed. However, I would highly recommend that they purchase new pillows. By the time you rolled it up enough to know there was anything under your head it was to firm and not very comfortable to sleep on.”

• The pool, spa and Jacuzzi were closed for remodeling. I was quite disappointed because that was part of our entertainment.

• Fire alarm at 12:30 a.m. No hotel employees to be found during the fire alarm, leaving customers wondering what to do.

“I have stayed at this La Quinta previously and was very pleased. This time however, we were not. The actions taken by the staff, or lack of staff during the fire alarm was unacceptable, and we felt very unsafe there during that time. We also were unable to get a good nights rest after being allowed to re-enter our rooms. Upon check-out, we were informed that the staff had never been trained as per what to do in case of an alarm. Ultimately leading to terrible disorganization and chaos. We were there with a dance group of small children who were to compete the next morning and who were all tired and cranky due to having been startled awake, having to evacuate and stand out in the cold for 45 minutes then to be told by a plain clothed person who we did not even know if he was an employee, tell us we could go back to our rooms. Were not able to get a good night's rest because we were leery that we could be called back outside, because they still had not found the reason for the alarm and the firefighters were still investigating. This was not a great experience.”

• Would not meet our room requests. Requested a king room, told several were available, clerk stated, can't change.

“Overall nice hotel, nothing fancy at all. Good location, easy off freeway and close to great shopping and dining areas. Clerk very unfriendly and unhelpful. She didn't try to be accommodating, polite or helpful. We have ran into this situation several times recently and feel it is the biggest drawback.”
