• Close to the airport.

“I have stayed at this hotel for 10 years now 3-4 a month. I have seen the condition of the property go down hill big time and fast in the last year. Lights not working in the rooms. Closet doors falling down. Mold in the bathrooms. It is in need of a HUGE make over to bring it back up to standard.”

• The staff were helpful with our business needs.
• Checked us into an already in use room. Felt embarrassed.

“When we checked into our two rooms, first they were far apart. Then, one room was already occupied, and we walked in on a man in his underwear. He was furious, we were embarrassed. While we were trying to get this resolved, the smoke alarm went off in the other room. It needed a new battery. The room they moved us to after the occupied room, wasn't completed. No clock, or refrigerator, and was dirty (hairs) from the previous occupants.”

• It was extremely close to the airport with prompt shuttle service and ample on-site parking.
• The surrounding neighborhood is devoid of services and the hotel is older.

“Although a Crowne Plaza, the size and amenities of the room actually compared unfavorably to the Hampton Inn we'd stayed at the week before, which had a fridge and microwave that the Crowne did not. The hotel is older and it shows, although the beds have been upgraded. As a convenient airport location, however, it's perfect for a night-before stay.”

• Reception understaffed with amount of travelers checking in and therefore not too friendly or interested.

• It was close to the Phoenix Airport.
• It is an old Crowne Plaza which needs some fixing up.

“It was fine for my wife and I as we were flying out early the next morning. It is not as upscale as stated but we just needed a place to sleep the night before we flew out.”

• The location. The pool. The fitness center.
• Noisy fans/AC. Parking fees. I had stayed at this same hotel the week before and had left my swim suit behind bath door. They did not have it!

• Location made it easy to get to airport for my morning flight.
• Room smelled like smoke and there was nowhere in the bathroom to put beauty products.

“Having stayed in this chain around the country, this one was a little disappointing. The bed was not as comfortable, the room smelled like smoke, and the room service menu and sleep kit were fond thrown behind the bedside tables which did not cultivate confidence in the housekeeping staff. The bedroom was quiet and I would stay here again with lower expectations.”

“The rooms were okay but the beds were small. They also had lots of construction all night and they had a train during the night which you could hear on one side of the hotel which was so loud that it woke my husband and me up.

• Location.
• Cold Jacuzzi and pool water; unable to bring extra blankets requested, we changed our own linens.

“It was nice they were able to get me a room with two beds however they did not bring extra blankets as requested. The pool water was cold in the pool and the Jacuzzi and they were unable to troubleshoot the problem. we had to change our own linen; housekeeping did not get to it.”

• I like the sleep kit they supply with eye mask, ear plugs, etc. Free internet.
• Nothing.

“Helpful, friendly staff. Easy access off freeway. Inviting lobby. Nice rooms, comfy beds and pillows, plenty of towels. I enjoyed my stay. Thanks!”

• The customer service is 5 star. The AC works well!
• Somewhat musty, only during the monsoons though.

“The staff is first rate. Customer satisfaction is valued there. Needs are anticipated for Priority Club members. A number of other 3 star hotels in the area have limits on the air conditioner settings or have them off when the guests arrive. This is a real consideration for some people as Phoenix gets pretty hot.”

• The staff was friendly and helpful.
• The surrounding area is known to be a drug selling area of town.

“The room was clean. Some of the lights had burned out light bulbs. The availability of electrical outlets was limited. This made using the iron tough and trying to find an outlet for a phone charger just as tough. The front of house staff was very friendly and helpful. My business associates asked me if I saw people selling crack on the corner because that neighborhood is now in a tough part of town.”

“Had to drive 10 miles to get to a restaurant that had reasonably priced food! Their restaurant prices were out of the roof and ridiculous. Las Vegas prices are cheaper than there! They have a pool that is open 24/7 but has no light! Staff was unprofessional and not much help. They have a Starbucks inside hotel which had no help so they were not serving coffee or pastries! We like to get away as a couple every month alone without children.”

• Provided a relaxation CD called Sleep Soundly, very new age and appropriate for our times.
• Had a $6.00 fee for parking in their garage while away on business, this is new, previously they did not charge.

“It is lovely, comfortable beds, down pillows and comforters, clean and nicely decorated, Great bathrooms and complete with a relaxation CD. The only complaint is the high fee of $6.00/night for parking. Next time I fly out of phoenix I will park car at the airport and not do an overnight stay.”

• Large rooms and free covered parking.
• One room was very musty, like a basement.

“This hotel is extremely close to the airport, has free covered parking, large rooms, adequate AC, friendly staff, and plenty of hot water. The only problem we have had in several stays at this hotel was that one room was very musty. Also, we had an alarm go off at 4:45AM one morning. Very annoying, but I guess we should have checked the alarm when we checked in.”

• They had great customer service, they helped us with directions every time we went somewhere.
• They need to use another color than white for there comforters.

“They customer service was excellent! Everyone there was really friendly! The only thing that we had to do was get a clean comforter, but it was amazing the time it took to get it taken care of. Usually when you call for someone to come to your room at a hotel it takes forever. Within minutes we had someone at our door ready to take care of the issue!”

• Phoenix had a bad wind storm 100 MPH, not prepared.

“The staff was not prepared for a disaster in any way, lights were off and on for a few hours and they did not know what to do, they had only 1 or 2 flashlights and did not accommodate the guests in anyway. The storm they had was pretty ugly and they were lost. That is why I put no for family.”

• Very close to PHX and on the new light rail line.
• Tarted up nicely, but showing its age.

“Handy location, close to airport but quiet. The light rail line airport station is right out the front door and should be opening soon. This is nice as there is absolutely nothing of any interest in the immediate neighborhood. The hotel and pool are clean and in good repair but there's no hiding this isn't a new place. Some of the floors have been very recently remodeled.”

“The Crowne Plaza is a beautiful place to stay and they serve food until 11 PM. The bar and the food was great. The beds are overstuffed and you feel like you are sleeping on a cloud. The shuttle to the airport was on time and had great service. This is the place that all the flight crews stay!”

• Clean. Employees are courteous and helpful.
• The outside elevator is dirty and you have to walk by the outside smoking area to get to it. Parking spaces too small.

• The staff was friendly, everyone always smiled.
• Parking was a nightmare - the garage is horrible - room was not cleaned well.

“I expected a nicer place, easier parking and cleaner rooms. I will stay at the Embassy Suites, just up the road from now on, where I've stayed in the past. The rooms were tiny, beds were small, scrunched together with large furniture, it made it a little harder to move around the room. Too small of rooms for double beds! The room was not very well cleaned. It was like a very light cleaning for the bedroom itself, sheets and blankets seemed dingy, carpet not so appealing either. The bathroom was not cleaned well at all! The shower base was still dirty, the floor had spots on it were it was not completely mopped and the sink had hair in it! Not a place I would stay in ever again just because of the dirt. Even the elevators were dirty, things seemed run down a bit.”
