• Hotel set up/ no breakfast options provided.

“Awkward entrances to gain access to room. Upon arrival to room there was no hand or bath soap to get cleaned up. Very noisy, due to hotel set up with walkways in front of door and window. Door faced pool area. Not impressed with hotel set up. Normal rooms were across the street from main hotel. Away from weight room other facilities.”

• The room had a pretty view and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful.
• The hot tub looked clean but when we used it there was a light film of something on the bubbles. There was spots on the carpet.

“I was a little worried about staying here due to the previous reviews. I asked for a non smoking room and that no pets had been in it. Our room was nice and roomy with a pretty view of the falls. Our bed was very comfortable and service was good. There was a few spots on the carpet and the sauna needs to be cleaned.”

• Excellent location in Idaho Falls.
• Low WiFi signal. Poor rooms in the motel-type wing.

“The tower (with suites) probably has better rooms. Rooms however are at the motel-style wing and are barely 1-star standard. Exterior corridors; sink in the room (outside of toilet). Most 2-stars are much better quality than this. In the motel wing the WiFi signal level is low to very low. Positives: great location, tons of restaurants within walking distance, 24 hour gym.”

• The overall experience was great.
• The internet was very weak in the room.

“It was a very nice room. Clean. Plenty of parking, and near the rooms. The only bad thing was the internet signal was very week and I needed to work online. Didn't get much done because of that. Overall though, it was a good experience.”

• The view toward the falls were very nice.
• They did not check the lights in the room. Several bulbs were not working and my wife had to reclean some of the areas.

“It was not bad for the price. It seems to be an older hotel and they are trying to make it look good. Maybe a little extra care in cleaning and checking that everything in the room works. Coffee pot was full of water because it was not working so that told me the maid did not check or attempt to even clean it or she would have known it was full of water. Which lets be believe she did not clean around the area of the coffee pot or water would have sloshed out like it did with us.”

• The main hotel was very nice and part of the staff was friendly.

“The main hotel was very nice, but the staff members were somewhat snobby. The rooms were newly refurbished and at first glance they were nice. Then we got into the room and there were stains on the chairs upholstery and holes in the sheets. Also, my feet stuck to the shower when I got in it to wash.”

• One of the beds had been disturbed. Old soap in the soap dish.

“We were pool side. This was a very bad experience. Coffee left in pot from prior people. Toilet did not flush if another room was in the shower. Fighting out by pool. You can hear every movement from the people upstairs so when they are up you are up even if you need sleep! The lock did not work!”

“Probably the nicest 2 star hotel I've ever stayed at; should be 3 stars. The beds are comfortable, the showers are large and clean, the microwave and refrigerator are very convenient. Only drawbacks are, it was a bit loud and our room smelled (though we've stayed here before and never had that problem).”

• I liked that they used Bath & Body Works shampoo, conditioner, and soaps.
• They had to change my room because the first room I was in smelled like cigarette smoke.

“I was told over the phone that it was a non-smoking facility. However, I was given a room that smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and even had an ash tray on the night stand. I called the front desk and let them know about it and they apologized and immediately got me a new room. They even upgraded me into one of their deluxe rooms. Once I was upgraded to a room that had not been smoked in, I had a wonderful experience. Everything was really clean and the staff was very helpful.”

“Not what we expected, very old addition, you could tell, must have been an Motel 6. NO A/C, but staff did move us to another room. No breakfast either, every other hotel/motel around served continental breakfast, very sorry we stayed there.”

• Front desk staff was not very friendly. Never fixed problem and never followed up with a reason.

“Great location in the city. Easy check in. Clean room. Never found the pool which was very awkward and not family friendly (outside somewhere). Front desk never explained you needed separate key to access. That setup was awkward.”

• Bed was wonderful/close to LDS temple and eating.
• The floors in the room squeaked as you walked.

“The hotel was very nice and hotel was easy to find from the Interstate. The front desk clerks were very cheerful and made me feel that they were waiting for me and wanted my stay to be nice. They offered a 15% discount on a meal of our choice that the hotel's restaurant. The room was set up so you could visit without having to sit on the bed. The bed was fabulous! It was the highlight for my husband who doesn't enjoy other beds. We were able to listen to the falls during the night and didn't even know it was storming outside. The bathroom was a little small, but was nice for what we needed. The restaurant had very cheery help and seemed to care how our night stay was. Breakfast was nice for the price we ended up paying.”

“I have stayed in this hotel in main Towner and in the upper scale rooms of the other part. It was no better than staying at a motel 6. Internet didn't work last update to room maybe 1980's, TV was small and limited on channels.”

“Always clean and the staff is always friendly. Renovations over the last couple of years have improved the lobby experience. I had trouble connecting to the internet but this was the first time. Right next to the falls with a nice walking path.”

• The first time we stayed there sewer backed up!

“The first time we stayed at the Red Lion, the sewer backed up and they said we could shower in a different room, we had to take all our personal shower things walk to another room, then back, they didn't offer to make it better for us on future stays or anything, disappointed.”

“Room was nice other than TV, I was in a pool side room and the stagnant water in pool was extremely stinky. Pool side area is in dire need of updating, I felt I was staying in low budget hotel. The exterior was old and run down. I will pay more next time and never return to the Red Lion Idaho Falls.”
