• The rooms are big and have everything you need when traveling.
• The bathroom floor and inside of the fridge was dirty.

• Proximity to the falls and eating establishments.
• Noise that was heard as people went to or from their room. It echoed into rooms.

• I liked that they used Bath & Body Works shampoo, conditioner, and soaps.
• They had to change my room because the first room I was in smelled like cigarette smoke.

“I was told over the phone that it was a non-smoking facility. However, I was given a room that smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and even had an ash tray on the night stand. I called the front desk and let them know about it and they apologized and immediately got me a new room. They even upgraded me into one of their deluxe rooms. Once I was upgraded to a room that had not been smoked in, I had a wonderful experience. Everything was really clean and the staff was very helpful.”

“Not what we expected, very old addition, you could tell, must have been an Motel 6. NO A/C, but staff did move us to another room. No breakfast either, every other hotel/motel around served continental breakfast, very sorry we stayed there.”

• Great location. Very clean.
• Front desk staff was not very friendly. Never fixed problem and never followed up with a reason.

“Great location in the city. Easy check in. Clean room. Never found the pool which was very awkward and not family friendly (outside somewhere). Front desk never explained you needed separate key to access. That setup was awkward.”

• Bed was wonderful/close to LDS temple and eating.
• The floors in the room squeaked as you walked.

“The hotel was very nice and hotel was easy to find from the Interstate. The front desk clerks were very cheerful and made me feel that they were waiting for me and wanted my stay to be nice. They offered a 15% discount on a meal of our choice that the hotel's restaurant. The room was set up so you could visit without having to sit on the bed. The bed was fabulous! It was the highlight for my husband who doesn't enjoy other beds. We were able to listen to the falls during the night and didn't even know it was storming outside. The bathroom was a little small, but was nice for what we needed. The restaurant had very cheery help and seemed to care how our night stay was. Breakfast was nice for the price we ended up paying.”

• Placed me in a section of the hotels that was run down and not equal to star level.

“I have stayed in this hotel in main Towner and in the upper scale rooms of the other part. It was no better than staying at a motel 6. Internet didn't work last update to room maybe 1980's, TV was small and limited on channels.”

“Always clean and the staff is always friendly. Renovations over the last couple of years have improved the lobby experience. I had trouble connecting to the internet but this was the first time. Right next to the falls with a nice walking path.”

• The second time we stayed there, we got a tower room.
• The first time we stayed there sewer backed up!

“The first time we stayed at the Red Lion, the sewer backed up and they said we could shower in a different room, we had to take all our personal shower things walk to another room, then back, they didn't offer to make it better for us on future stays or anything, disappointed.”

• I went to clean up some water I spilled on carpet and towel came out black.

“Room was nice other than TV, I was in a pool side room and the stagnant water in pool was extremely stinky. Pool side area is in dire need of updating, I felt I was staying in low budget hotel. The exterior was old and run down. I will pay more next time and never return to the Red Lion Idaho Falls.”

• Newly remodeled rooms. Extra large room with excellent views.
• Elevators needed cleaning. Change the exterior color of the building.

“Anticipated a somewhat dull room due to the outdated appearance of the building exterior. Was surprised with a newly remodeled room with a great view of the falls. Excellent experience. Would definitely stay there again.”

• The outside landscaping did not do the hotel justice.

“The hotel has a great view of the falls if you're facing that way. The room was clean and comfortable. TV. stations were plentiful. The only thing missing was a free breakfast. They have a restaurant, but you have to pay.”

• The location was nice. By the river and the L.D.S. Temple and the walking path that goes around the river is very nice.
• It felt like a motel!

“The room was small, but newly redecorated and clean. There was a very small and old TV. There was a microwave and fridge in the room which we used. The pool and garden area around the entrances to the rooms was in need of some work, and a lot of the exterior of the building needed paint and upkeep. The room reminded us of a Motel 6 room. Not a star rated room at all.”

• It would have been nice to have a queen or king bed instead of two doubles.

• The bed was comfortable: the view was Amazing.

“This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The room was large and came with a fridge and microwave. The bed was so comfortable even better than my own bed at home. We had a beautiful view from our balcony. In my opinion, the staff could have been a little more friendly. One of the clerks seemed annoyed when I asked a question.”

• The room was spacious and well equipped with microwave, kitchen, iron and ironing board, some utensils.
• We were told at the time of booking that we would be in the tower and on arrival given a room on the main floor of the annex.

• The double queen room was very roomy. Nice bath/shower; great view of the falls.
• They did not provide a breakfast; the elevators were very dirty.

“We enjoyed our stay at the Red Lion on the Falls. The room was very spacious complete with microwave and mini fridge. The beds were a little hard for me, but my husband slept fine. The Jacuzzi was the cleanest we have seen in a hotel! We missed not having a pool.”

• Large rooms, nice bath/shower, nice view, bath & body toiletries, good pillows.
• Wall too thin! I could hear what the people in the next room were saying and doing!

“I would be reluctant to stay again just because I was so appauled at how well I could hear the people in the next room. I could understand what they were saying and they weren't talking loud. It was 3:00am so it was really difficult not to eavesdrop and to get back to sleep.”

• Large rooms, Friendly staff! great location with great views!
• No internet past the fourth floor, and floor four and lower are not renovated.

“Great hotel for any traveler. The rooms are large and equipped with a fridge and microwave. The staff is super friendly, and many of the rooms have a great view of the LDS Temple and the waterfall. The only think I did not like is the upper floors are renovated and very nice (flat screen TV's and all) but they have no internet. We had to move to a renovated room to a lower room to get internet. But it was still a good hotel experience. I would definitely stay again.”

• I liked that it was very spacious & every room had it's own balcony.
• I didn't like the seasonal only pool & the lack of a continental breakfast.

“The hotel overlooks Idaho Falls and must be beautiful in the summer, but now it's all frozen over. The Pros: Spacious rooms, recliner, high speed internet, frig, micro. The Cons: Lack of year round pool, no continental breakfast, older tile shower. The staff is wonderful.”

“The Red Lion is an older hotel, but they are trying to remodel and update, and because of the poor weather, the hotel was willing to give me a stranded traveler rate for an extra night, and also gave me a penthouse room, which was very nice of them.”

• The shower seemed a little old and there wasn't a continental breakfast.

• It is being remodeled.
• No sound proofing, kind of dark and creepy outside.

“The people upstairs were so dang loud. And anytime somebody walked by our room we could hear very clear what they were talking about. It is more like a motel. The only thing nice about it was newly remodeled. Plus we were just watching TV and somebody called for a noise complaint.”

• Staff terrible, room smelled terrible, remodeling going on. Don't waste your time.

“Was assigned a room in the motel part next door to the tower. I walked into the room and it reeked of the smell of urine and cigarette smoke. Went back to desk to get another room and they said there was nothing available and they could not refund my money. So I went n down the street to best western and stayed there for 3 nights. While I was speaking with supervisor, they rented a room to a person that did not have a reservation. Be careful if you attempt to book here. Make sure it is in the tower. Staff is very difficult to work with! Expected more from red lion.”

• Room was outside instead of in tower. First room reeked of smoke. Was not pleasant experience.

“There is a tower with inside rooms and a motel like section you can drive up to. We were 2 women and asked for inside rooms for safety. Said we could only have outside because of the way we booked the room. I would rate the hotel more of a 1 star if you are in the outside rooms.”
