• Smallest room
  I have had in 25 years of business travel..

“Given the way this Hilton is marketed and priced, one would assume that the business traveler could expect a decent room. The room I was assigned ( King Studio in the Casitas section ) was barely large enough to hold the king bed ...in 25 years of business and personal travel I have never seen nor stayed in a hotel with such small rooms.”

• The staffers generally were terrific; my server was nice but inefficient.
• I am glad I did not pay the regular rate! I was quite unhappy with my stay.

“I was there in summer in the desert (temps topped 100), and the A/C did not work properly. The studio was just a
tiny room. You need a map to get around the grounds, which I will say are lovely. Parking is free, but there isn't enough - I had to drag my bags from the street, around a corner and up stairs, past two carports, neither of which I was permitted to use. Restaurants are relentlessly Western-kitsch. The food is good, though. But terribly expensive. The whole place is set up for families. Definitely
not for business travelers.”

• We loved how comfortable the rooms were. Also, the pools were so much fun and the swimming pool is not too cold!

• Nice pool, cute shops, good beds.
• Halls littered with room service trays, often for hours.

“Enjoyed the facilities, room was updated and clean. Food at the pool wasn't great, limited selection and quality was questionable. Location was central, although most attractions are several miles away.”

• Old hotel, not recently "renovated".

“The hotel is pretty old with a lot of things that need fixing just in our room, the screen door on the sliding door fell off, the bathroom faucets were leaking.”

• I liked having a suite, we had many pools to choose from, staff was friendly and helpful.
• Our room on the first floor was a little dark, we were unable to open the drapes because anyone could see in.

“I was traveling with my 20 yr old daughter and her friend. It was nice to have a suite so we could all have our own bed, and some privacy. The hotel offered many activities,( including 8 pools, hiking trails, restaurants,tennis courts, etc.),so we never even left the grounds. All in all a relaxing time and a good.”

• A great place for everyone. Clean, excellent staff and in a nice location.

“My family actually went to Phoenix for a funeral, but coming back to the hotel was like a breath of fresh air for us. The two room suites were nice and spacious, the pools were conveniently located and the children’s pools were awesome. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, the gym was a good size and the nearby restaurants were within walking distance and had great food. We recommend Aunt Chilada’s Mexican Restaurant and Tutti Santi had wonderful Italian food - both within walking distance.”

“This is a fabulous hotel to bring the kids. River rafting, mini golf, great pools and the price is great for the area. Our rooms were on the ground floor by the parking lot and were not terribly appealing.”

• The suite was quiet, well appointed, clean and comfortable.
• My AT&T cell phone had no signal in the hotel environment so I had to use the expensive house phone for local calls.
  

“The Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak is a well manicured resort. The two main buildings contain suites, the smallest of which comprises a living room and bedroom that connect through a central bathing area. The rooms are tastefully appointed and outfitted with amenities appropriate to the establishment including a refrigerated bar, a two-cup coffeemaker with ground rather than instant coffee, cable TV in the living room and bedroom areas and wideband internet access in the living room. We found the resort concierge service to be very helpful. The hotel check-in staff was polite, courteous and helpful in directing us to our suite. All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend the Pointe Hilton Squaw Valley to anyone.

• Pool was nice.
• Internet was super slow!

“This hotel was nice. It charged 12$ to use the internet and it was super slow. Good place for younger children. The hole in the wall grill restaurant had terrible service. There were customers that were completely forgotten about, glad it wasn't us.”

“I would not call this place a resort. I have stayed at many resorts and when I think resorts, this is not a resort. It was a large hotel.”

• Fun activities, kid friendly.
• Food was good but no knock out.

“Great for the kids and fun getaways with the spouse. Water park was not overly crowded for a holiday weekend. The building is showing it's age despite the recent overhaul and looks like it needs a good cleaning. Rooms were comfortable but again show their age and heavy use.”

• Loved the Water Park.
• The only restaurant that was open the hole in the wall was exactly that. Service was good but the food was terrible.

“Overall everything was great. The property is beautiful and immaculately kept. I was unhappy that there was only restaurant open on the property. The food at that restaurant was poor. The waiter who served us was very attentive. We loved the river ranch water park. The room (2 queens suite) was very nice and the beds were fantastic. The room was not cooled down for us when we arrived and it is 110 degrees in PHX. Also there was no air in the elevators (thank goodness it is a short ride). Overlooking the few minor thing it was definitely worth the value!”

• The water park was fabulous!
• The front desk staff was rude and impolite.

“When I walked in to check in, there were 3 front desk workers just talking amongst themselves and not helping customers. So after waiting a while, we got checked in and drove to our suite. When we got there, the key to our room didn't work. We drove back around and talked to the rude front desk staff who informed me that the key worked fine so they would call security to meet me at the room. I asked how long it would be since it is 100+ degrees standing out there waiting. They said in a rude tone, "I will call them right now!" After getting in our room, the room was beautiful and we did have a great time at the water park. Overall, the stay was a success, but the staff needs a customer service lesson!”

• The cocktail wait staff that roams at the pool could have been a bit better.

“This is a fantastic place to take the kids for vacation. The whole family had a great time. We found the room great, and all of the pools great. The large pool complex with the slide and the lazy river are awesome!”

• We felt at home there and all the various ages had a wonderful, relaxing time leaving refreshed-none of us wanted to leave though!
• Nothing negative here.

“We all enjoyed our time and want to go back again. We felt great being there especially after we received an upgrade of or room to a casita. The employees were great also. The grounds were kept up in a very eye candy manner. We loved our stay and we thank you guys and gals for your part in it. We will never forget such a fun time. Thanks!”

• Water park and lots for a family to do. This place is awesome!
• The bedroom was on the small side.

“This is an excellent weekend getaway for families. There is a water park which includes water slide, multiple pools, lazy river, miniature golf, poolside movies and other nightly family activities. This is an excellent place to hang out and cool off during the hot summer months!”

• Our room was spacious and immaculate. Great bed mattress. Grounds and pools were gorgeous. Fun restaurant, hotel staff very friendly!
• It's a huge facility so there's quite a bit of walking required.

“Hilton hotels are the best! We loved the size of our suite and everything was shining and clean. The grounds are gorgeous and there are multiple pools and areas where you can relax. The public pools can get noisy but there are other, quieter areas you can go to. The hole in the wall restaurant was fun and the food was good. We were impressed by the friendly, accommodating staff. We had a GREAT time.”

• Staff exceptionally helpful. Rooms were nicely planned and decorated.
• Housekeeping knocked four times prior to checkout trying to clean room. They ignored my request to wait until I was gone.

“The Pointe Squaw Peak was and still is a beautiful site. Unfortunately, over the years, the quality of service has fallen to a level where it is a frustrating place to stay. Don't expect to get service by any of the pools without a frustrating wait. Probably better to drive to a 7/11 and get your beverages there. On the other hand, the kids will love the Coyote Camp (mine did).”

• Great location, great amenities, especially the many pools. Nice clean rooms.
• High speed Internet was not free. The Jacuzzi near my room was broken. The concierge service was quite slow, could use a book of menus.

“My wife, two young kids, and I had a great time at this hotel. Was a blast at the water park (included in your visit), and staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant we tried was very good (a little pricy), but treated us well. Highly recommend!”

• The landscaping was beautiful.
• Mine and my co-workers room stunk of cigarettes.

“The bad cigarette smell in the room was inconsistent with the rest of my stay. But it was terribly unpleasant. My co-worker had the same problem. I awoke both mornings with a head-ache I attributed to the odor. We requested non-smoking.”

“Our arrival was after 11:00 pm and food or snacks were not available at that time. Our room was clean and comfortable, although it was somewhat small. The staff were very helpful with directions to our casita, and directions to sites off the property.”

• Each room was a 2 room suite, layout was wonderful.
• Their was a noticeable stain on the comforter that was never addressed.

“Nice place, I would stay there again. Seems like a great place for families, because of the water features and the day camp for kids. Rooms are updated and clean. I loved the 2 room suite layout. Only complaint was there was a dried stain (food I hope) on the foot of our comforter.”

“I found black hairs in my bed. The room smelled like old cigarettes. And to top it all off, I was woken up at 8 o'clock in the morning to a jack hammer going off in front of our room. Did not turn out to be the romantic get away I was hoping for.”

• A lot of families traveling with children. Loud children.

“It was a pleasant experience for the most part. It was nice to have a Starbucks and AJ's market just down the street. I wasn't expecting all of the families with young children. It was a little loud at night. Couldn't enjoy the pool or hot tub because of children playing. I wouldn't consider staying at this hotel again for that reason. I want more peace and quiet during a vacation.”

• Hotel staff was nice. All suite rooms great water park.
• We found a tick in our room. No we did not go hiking/wilderness area. Mildew in bath area. Fingerprints on walls. Needs updating.

“Pleasant stay. Staff was very friendly. Hotel interior does need some updating. There was mildew all over the bathroom door and fingerprints around light switches, but I find this at every hotel we go to from 4* to 2*. We did find a red tick in our room on the bed, the day we checked out. We didn't go hiking or near shrubbery except on hotel property. The only other place I could think of is maybe it came from the spa locker that I went to the night before we left which was off hotel property.”

• The pool was really fun.
• It started to sprinkle so they closed the pool and when it stopped raining it was only open to the employees only.

“We were really there to relax and hag out by the pool but the closes early so we sat in our room prefer to stay somewhere the pool is open 24 hours or at least 10 p.m. I would think twice about staying here.”

• Everything was extra $$$ - internet/breakfast - closed pool down twice in 2 days.

“Nice hotel - staff was more concerned with the extra work to keep the pool open and closed it early. They did not reopen the pool after the storm passed. Did not have enough staff most of the time at desk and concierge.”
