• Friendly, helpful staff, great continental breakfast.
• Older, not updated, awkward shower for tall husband.

“We were planning only a one-night stay, passing through Missoula on our way to Seattle. Neither expected or needed anything more than a place to lay our heads for the night. This hotel was just fine for that purpose. No frills, but good price. Staff was very friendly and helpful and served a very good continental breakfast. We slept well and were satisfied with our choice.”

• The room was nice.
• The pool and sauna were outside and it not advertised that way.

“I have stayed in two different Red Lions before and loved them. This one not as much. The pool and sauna were outside and that was not mentioned at all on-line or upon checkin. I would've chosen a different place for the trip I was on. This would still be a great choice for business traveling.”

• Decent price, fairly clean.
• Dirty drinking glasses, poor heat, nearby railroad noise.

“Upon arrival we were told free continental breakfast would end at 10:00, we arrived at 9:30 and not even a scrap was available. Room and staff were O.K.; however, I always check the drinking glasses in the rooms and one had not even been rinsed and had lipstick and who know what else all over it. It was a cold night in Montana and the heater took many hours to warm the room up enough that it was tolerable. For the price it was O.K., but some obvious disappointments as well.”

• The hotel was very clean, and quiet, and staff was helpful and polite.
• There was not a wireless connection in the room.

“This is a nice hotel for a quick over night stay. This hotel is very near the hospital, and during a family illness my kids and I stayed here several times. The staff was always kind and courteous and rooms clean and comfortable. The breakfast selections could use some improvement though.

• The check in clerk was wonderful. Very friendly.
• Morning staff issues.

“This hotel was great for the price. The check in clerk was amazingly friendly and helpful. The rooms were beautiful and extremely clean. The pool was well maintained. It was a great experience. Until we tried to eat breakfast. The deluxe continental breakfast was not so much deluxe. A bowl of fruit and a waffle maker. And the line for the waffle maker was very long. Filled with uniformed hotel employees making themselves breakfast. As soon as another employee would walk into the breakfast room, they would automatically be given a place in line before the guests. We gave up and went to a dinner down the road. Because of this, unfortunately, we will not be back.”

• Very clean and attractive, great free breakfast in the lobby.
• It is motel type where there are 2 levels and parking outside.

“This hotel was a great value and really respectable. The staff when we checked in was really friendly and invited us to the early morning free breakfast 6-9am there were items left there after 9am for stragglers. The room was clean and they provide Bath and Body works samples as their soaps of choice! We requested and got a ground level room so we could easily move our items out of the car! Overall, very good and recommended if you need to pass though Missoula, MT.”

• Beds & bedding excellent. Great continental breakfast. Rooms cozy and luxurious. Staff wonderful.
• Wanted to do laundry and the dryer was not working.

“The Red Lion Inn is a wonderful place to stay. Staff are extremely friendly and always helpful. The rooms are clean and luxurious. This is the second time here and we will keep coming back for their amazing beds. We get a great night sleep even on the first night.”

• Clean room, nicely decorated. The 2 separate bathroom vanities was a nice feature. Comfortable beds.
• Pillows are too soft. There was a continental breakfast, but it was crowded as their space was limited and not much food to offer.

• For the price, it wasn't bad. Clean! comfortable. Good location.
• The breakfast was pretty bad, unless you stay with toast and cereal.

“I stayed here several days to take the MT bar exam. The room was quiet and comfortable and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. Grocery store next door, easy access to downtown Missoula, trails, the river. No complaints.”

• Building was getting a little run down; a smoking area had an open door to a common area.

• Great breakfast! Friendly staff. Comfortable room with nice extras 2 sinks, big desk, comfy chair, very accommodating.
• A bit off the beaten path. Even though we had directions, we did not think that we were heading in the right direction. Breakfast area could be bigger.

“We had a great stay. Although I was a bit surprised by the outside doors to the rooms, I did feel comfortable there. Great service and the rooms were very comfortable and clean.”

• Really liked having 2 spaces to get ready for the day.
• Maid did not clean our room very well.

“It was an enjoyable stay. The room was clean and neat. Did not like that the maid did not clean our room very well every day. That would be my only complaint.”

• Staff was friendly. Breakfast included fresh waffles.
• AC did not work at all. It was extremely uncomfortable.

“This hotel was not staffed well. There was only person on site and that was the registration person no one could come to look at the broken AC unit. The breakfast was ok, but being able to make your own waffles made the breakfast enjoyable. I probably would not go back to this hotel.”

“Rooms were large and comfortable. We had a problem with our first room. There was a high pitched whine and it turned out we were next to a machine shop/equipment room. The staff was very nice and moved us.”

• QUIET room, GREAT mattresses, beautiful updated bathroom, SPACIOUS room, located close to Riverwalk and quaint Downtown restaurant.
• It didn't have a tub, only a shower, but not really a big thing!

“Located in nice neighborhood, short walk to bar/restaurant, friendly and helpful staff, quick easy drive to airport, short drive to shopping mall, one block from Riverwalk, super clean outdoor pool and spa, adequate continental breakfast, coffeepot in room! Would totally stay there again!”

• Converted rooms to upscale class. Used granite counter tops, nice beds, nice furniture, etc.
• First room we were in was nonsmoking, but very definitely had previous smokers in it. They switched us to a new room, however, after we requested one.

“Clean hotel with friendly staff. We were there for a wedding and came back to the room that was suppose to be cleaned and same stained bed, same broken soap dish, no toiletries, dirty towels, used glasses and beer caps under bed. One staff member to take care of the hotel for 12hrs and no follow through to take care of the problems.”

• The Location was good for easy access to shopping.
• They had poor facilities for eating the continental brex.

“The front desk reception was very friendly. The continental breakfast was good but had very little room to sit down and enjoy it. I carried our breakfast to our room. We had two rooms for four of us. One had a microwave and small refrigerator and the other did not? The room was clean and adequate. We stayed two days and were satisfied.”

• I don't think it said on the hotel website that the pool was outdoor. We lucked out the weather was great to be outdoors.

• Lobby to small to handle breakfast attendees-also ran out of certain food items.

“This is a nice facility, but with small lobby, exterior room entry, no elevator, no restaurant, summer outdoor pool I believe it is a 2 star, not a 2-1/2 star hotel. It is a long outdoor walk from rooms on one end to the lobby on the other end, and MT weather can make this a challenge.”

“I've stayed at the Red Lion in Missoula before and consider it a consistent and comfortable place to stay. The staff is always nice and while I wouldn't consider it particularly luxurious the rooms are updated and aesthetically pleasing. I choose to stay at this hotel because it is in a convenient location and it is usually not very crowded.”

• No elevator (had heavy luggage to bring in; no pool.

“The stay was good since we had other activities, but we are used to having a pool to relax in at night and there was no pool. We stayed for 3 nights at the hotel and had heavy luggage since we were staying in the area for a week and with not having an elevator, it was inconvenient. The staff was great and rooms were great, but wouldn't stay again because of lack of pool and elevator.”

“This red lion inn exceeded some of the higher star rating in some other cities. Overall the hotel room is very roomy and clean, bed very comfortable and washroom very clean and spacious. If the air conditioning can be a bit quieter, that would be perfect.”
