“Fairly nice hotel. Smoke smell everywhere.” Aug 21, 2009 by
Mark from Tucson, AZ
“River Palms Casino Resort? Resort? what a lie. Once you turn into Laughlin you drive past all of the nice places and then you find the River Palms. The parking is located in a large garage near the south end of the hotel, the main lobby is at the north entrance. Our room was located on the first floor in the older section of the hotel. While some elevators work within the main tower they don't take you the lower sections where some of the in house restaurants are located. This transfer issue make moving any handicapped family members a real pain. The Carpet throughout the place is old, dirty and often in need of repair. Watch out for the hidden dips in the casino, Carpet areas that act like sink holes. Our room was a real dive/dump. It was poorly light. The room was dirty, candy wrappers under the bed frames and sunflower shells along the cabinets. The beds appeared made but not freshly made. The linen appeared clean so I didn't object. Flat sheets are a dud as they pull out during the night. The room was shabby with little or no frills. The shower was dirty with soap on it, and the electrical plug in the bathroom was loose and hanging out of the bathroom wall. On our second day I found the maid and asked her to the room and showed her the floor and asked if she felt it was clean. She advised that she had been off for the last two days and would take care of it. She was very proud of her efforts, I was still disappointed, it really matters little to me how many times you run a vacuum cleaner over a dirty floor, if it's still dirty, then it's still not clean. The food was okay. Okay is not the same as good. The free booze on the floor is a total bust as the girls seem to hide. If I'm chewing ice in an empty glass they aren't doing there jobs. If you play for the free booze, play at the bar and drink for free, your glass will never go dry. This place is a run down, outdated poorly kept up dump. My advice stay upstream in a real resort and forget the Palms.” Jun 24, 2009 by

“Staying at this hotel was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at any hotel. I am an avid traveler and never have I experienced such unsanitary conditions. The room was not clean and my entire family was bitten up with bugs. The TV did not work and the electrical outlets were burned out. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone I will strongly discourage any persons from ever reliving my nightmare.” Jun 1, 2009 by
Alexandra from Las Vegas
“Security in the hotel is non-existent, no video surveillance, don't expect them to investigate anything, their major role is to cover up the whole ordeal so that no one knows about it. They offered us no help of any kind, we were left penniless, with no IDs, cards or car/house keys. The hotel staff answer was there was nothing we could do. I have traveled quite a bit in my short life but I have never been treated with the same type of disrespect and ignorance in my life.” May 11, 2009 by

“I enjoyed our stay, except that we were smokers and was booked in a non smoking room and floor, had to go down 20 floors to smoke.” May 4, 2009 by

“Overall we enjoyed our stay at the River Palms and would select it again.” Feb 12, 2009 by

“The room was very clean and comfortable. I will definitely be back to this hotel.” Jan 25, 2009 by
Sean from San Bernardino,CA
“I have stayed at this hotel before on a prior trip. During my stay at that time the staff and room where much better. This time the staff was not friendly or helpful, most gaming tables were shut down until 10 am. Maid did not service my room for me last night stay, bed unmade, dirty towels in the bathroom, etc. When I mention this to clerk on check out she didn't seem to care. I do not think I will use this hotel for awhile again.” Jan 7, 2009 by
Norma from Lake Havasu
“The price was good, the room was with a very nice river view. The front desk personnel are not the most helpful, probably she was not having a good day, but you only have to deal with them when you check in. Other than that everything was okay, I strongly recommend their Italian restaurant. I went there with my husband for our anniversary and they were amazingly nice with us. The atmosphere there is nice and cozy. It has been the nicest anniversary that we have had. Thank you very much!” Nov 5, 2008 by

“Much nicer. We go to Laughlin 4 or 5 times a year and will stay at the River Palms from now on. Everything was great. We were very pleased.” Sep 4, 2008 by

“I expected more on the cleanliness of a hotel. There was hair matted between two of the towels in the bathroom and it was not our hair. Rust in the bath tube and a continuous drip in the tube. I am glad we were there just for the one night. I have stayed at better places there for a bit less money. Good AC in rooms.” Jul 13, 2007 by
David from Los Angeles, CA
“The hotel needs an overhaul. The furniture is old & battered, the tub drain was slow, one of the lamps didn't work, & the exterior is losing its paint. Its staff was very good to us, however. It is a very basic room. No coffee maker, no hair dryer, and no booklet of the amenities the hotel had to offer (restaurant, laundry, emergency exits, etc.). However, I've stayed there before, and probably will again. It's like an old friend.” 1 of 2 people found this review helpful.May 9, 2007 by

“I made a reservation for a King Size bed, and I got 2 double. This was my anniversary and it was just a major inconvenience. I will not stay at the river palms again.” Apr 29, 2007 by
John from Soldotnat, AK
“The hotel has good covered parking and is convenient to the strip. The rooms are in need of updating. The furniture showed wear. The bathrooms were clean and the showers great. You had ready access to taxis out front and water shuttles out back.” Apr 25, 2007 by
Kevin from Victorville, CA
“My itinerary said that I was in the north tower with a river view and keg size bed, my actual room was in the south tower (that only has three floors), the river view I had was a piece of blue though the bushes, and they only had a double bed, when I asked the clerk for a different room he said they didn't have anything else.” Mar 7, 2007 by

“Good enough for the price would have liked a hair dryer in the room.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 28, 2006 by

“A great value for the money. The Lodge Restaurant was has great food and ample portions. A little noisy on the floor, but the rooms were quiet. No real complaints; an overall good experience.” 7 of 7 people found this review helpful.Aug 23, 2006 by

“I can say I was satisfied with my room, I had a beautiful view to the lake. Everyone there was friendly. As my first time in Laughlin I can say I was not disappointed. I will definitely go back. Thanks for making my first visit an unforgettable experience.” 4 of 4 people found this review helpful.Jun 26, 2006 by

“I was on the "Non-smoking" wing on the 3rd floor and even though we were 3/4 of the way down the hall, the smoke could still be smelled. With the current technology that could be eliminated. The hotel staff was pleasant but the feeling was that the hotel was just there to make money, not necessarily to make your stay more pleasurable.” 3 of 3 people found this review helpful.Jun 26, 2006 by

“For the money, I thought the location and amenities were good. It was not the cleanest and the rooms were smoky, also the service was a little slow. Food was descent, and the pool was good. The location was excellent and easy to come in and out.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 14, 2006 by

“The atmosphere was not inviting, there were several different levels and a bit confusing. The entire casino was extremely warm, the pool was very small. Wouldn't stay there again.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 27, 2006 by

“My room was clean, comfortable & offered a great view of the Colorado River & Arizona's Black Mountains. Shampoo & lotion were offered but hotel doesn't have coffee makers or refrigerators...some rooms have hair dryers. Hotel is older but there's a sense of hidden glory in the atmosphere, manicured lawns, restaurants overlooking the river, relaxing pool, good variety of slots & multiple denominations. The players club offers daily promotions but you must inquire as to how these work (24 hr rating is key)” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.May 8, 2006 by

“The majority of the staff was not very friendly or helpful. We signed up for adjoining rooms with my in-laws with a mountain view. Our rooms were on different floors and they had a view of a solid brick wall. We would not stay at this hotel again.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Mar 2, 2006 by

“While the staff was friendly and kind, the room was not good. The upholstery was shabby and dirty, they use those horrible flat sheets on the bed that pull out during the night and one of the electrical sockets was pulled out from the wall, fire hazard. We stayed two nights, and no one came to clean the room after our first night. The staff just didn't come at all. Also, the room had none of the usual amenities even the budget hotels have nowadays, no coffee maker, no microwave, no fridge, not even a hair dryer. I called the front desk to request a hair dryer and they promised me one, but never actually came with it. Parking is also in a huge parking ramp far from the rooms. All these things make this place unsuitable for families, even besides the fact that the lobby is a smoke filled casino.” 3 of 4 people found this review helpful.Aug 16, 2005 by

“Used to be a nice place five years ago. Has gone downhill fast. Very poor upkeep, in major need of renovation. Rooms are dirty and many things do not work/broken. Water problems, leaks in plumbing, cold water not working/ only scalding hot, bad smells of mildew in rooms, no maid service for two days and until we called to inquire. Employees do not care about problems you are having. Management is non-existent and never on duty. Will not return until they complete major remodel.” 6 of 6 people found this review helpful.Feb 19, 2005 by

“We booked 2 nights at the River Palms and checked in at 6pm (3 hours after check-in). When we got to our room we found the bathroom was dirty. I called housekeeping and they quickly came to clean the toilet. I have a 7 month old daughter and we had the lights low in order to get her to sleep. When we woke in the morning we found out we had slept on dirty sheets!!!! yuck!!! Management was less than concerned. They said they would not charge us for the room, but did! We left asap and went to the Colorado Bell. Much Better!!!” 10 of 11 people found this review helpful.
