“Love, love, love the Golden Nugget. In the heart of old Las Vegas it has the best of both worlds...first class gaming, elegant surrounding and as far as I'm concerned, downtown is the best place to stay. The Fremont street experience is a must see and at the Nugget you can do it at Gold Diggers, a 2nd floor outdoor nightclub.” Nov 30, 2009 by
Art from Winnipeg,Canada
“Older, well maintained hotel.” Nov 18, 2009 by
Samantha from Glendora,CA
“Hotel was nice not as crazy crowded as hotels on the strip. Room nice, clean, newer TV and updated recently. Pool area / lounge area very cool, not a lot of sun gets in though because surrounded by buildings.” Oct 28, 2009 by
Jason from Bakersfield,CA
“Great hotel. Reminded me of high quality Vegas strip hotel with downtown Vegas pricing.” Oct 23, 2009 by
Raquel from The Villages,FL
“The Golden Nugget was a great location for me as I needed to stay on Fremont Street. The room was large and clean. There was a lot of action in the Casino. The large aquarium and pool looked like a lot of fun. I'd stay there again.” Oct 22, 2009 by
Annette from Honolulu,HI
“Older style casino hotel in downtown Las Vegas. Perfect location to get away from the strip but still lots to enjoy in Freemont street and close by. Good street entertainment. The Deuce bus takes you to the strip every 7 minutes - slow but cheap. The restaurants in the Golden Nugget are good and you get an excellent voucher book when you check in.” Oct 22, 2009 by
Shulamit from Monsey,NY
“Friendly staff, great place to stay in Vegas. Close enough to the strip but not on strip so can avoid crowds and noise.” Sep 13, 2009 by
Paula from Red Deer,Canada
“I stayed at this hotel back in Feb 2008 and had a better experience then. There is no longer doorman to welcome you to the hotel. We got a couple bonus gifts for for attending the presentation , but we also paid $50.00 cash. We found this deceiving and a waste of our vacation time.” Sep 12, 2009 by
John from West Fargo,ND
“The Golden Nugget keeps on improving their hotel and has become the number one focal point on Fremont Street.” Sep 2, 2009 by
Michael from Moapa,NV
“I recommend this place, it is a very good place to stay at. It is across the street from Binionns where the food is excellent!” Aug 17, 2009 by
Lizardo from Grants,NM
“Staff was very friendly, room was very clean, they need to work on sales promotions staff (pain), nice and close to Fremont Street Express.” Jul 31, 2009 by
Verlyn from Apple Valley,CA
“The Golden Nugget is always a favorite place for my family. My kids love the pool and would swim 24 hours a day if they could.” Jul 11, 2009 by
Lane from Tulsa
“My wife and I stayed at the hotel from Ju1y 1-5, 2009. We spent $1,000.00 on food, drinks and gifts there. I wanted a particular bottle of wine the hotel didn't have. I bought a bottle outside the hotel and I forgot a corkscrew. I took the bottle to a bar at the hotel and asked the bartender to open it. The bartender said there is a $15.00 cork charge. That is not guest friendly. I will never stay the again.” Jul 8, 2009 by
Happy Mom from San Bernardino,CA
“Everything was nice. The seating in the pool area was very comfortable at night. However, it seemed more was needed during the day.” Jun 8, 2009 by
Daniel from New Orleans,LA
“Nice hotel, but definitely not a 4-star experience. Clean rooms and friendly staff made the stay pleasant. About 4 miles from the strip and the drive at night can be lengthy due to lights and traffic, so not great if you're seeing a show or mostly there for strip activities. I suppose it's a good hotel for business if you're in the convention area and want to gamble. Coupons available for the Monday-Friday lunch or breakfast buffets, we wanted dinner so did not use them, unfortunately. Overall fair experience.” Apr 29, 2009 by
Greg from Meridian,ID
“This is a great Las Vegas hidden treasure, great for romance, family, or fun.” Apr 24, 2009 by
Dave from The Woodlands, TX
“Property is modernized, clean and has relatively good food, especially for downtown. You pay a little more, but you get a little more. If you like downtown the location is perfect, right in the middle of the Fremont Street experience. I would stay again for the rooms food & service, but for gaming, (especially blackjack) I would walk across the street to Binion's, Fremont, Four Queen's or down one block to Fitz's.” Apr 19, 2009 by
Christina from College Park,MD
“The location was great. You can walk rightout on to the downtown strip. There's a gigantic Apr 9, 2009 by
Clint from Saint George,UT
“Clean facility, with plenty of things to do for entertainment. The location offered plenty of things to do without getting in the car to drive. Swimming pool was very nice.” Apr 9, 2009 by
Mary from Queen Creek,AZ
“I am not a big fan of the las Vegas life style but I enjoyed this business trip more than any other and I contribute this to the hotel accommodations.” Apr 5, 2009 by
Rene from Encino,CA
“The Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino is excellent, providing upscale amenities and service comparable to the other hotels in the Las Vegas strip. It has always had it's shine and always has been a favorite since I first visited Las Vegas 25 years ago.” Mar 12, 2009 by
David from White Bear Lake,MN
“Modern historic luxury. A true anchor that sits on the top of Fremont street. The staff and amenities are top notch and are the mark the other hotes should shoot for. Everything from lounging by the pool to hot night life is available. Every visit is a new high.” Mar 11, 2009 by
John from North Tonawanda,NY
“Very disappointing, room reeked of cigarette smoking even though our floor and room were nonsmoking.” Mar 11, 2009 by
Sarah from Kansas City,MO
“This was our second stay with the GN. It went just as well as the first. Good food. Hard to get onto a Paigow table (they need a few more). Only experienced one GN employee that was bad, a woman who was a bad boss and very bossy and unfriendly.” Feb 26, 2009 by
Chris from Dublin,OH
“I was in town for a conference and found that the hotel is all about the up sell, which is not pleasant for non-drinking business travelers. It seems that every time you go to they desks they want to charge you to upgrade to another luxury option. This is not a luxury hotel and should stop trying. It needs to provide better customer service and stop trying to nickle and dime the customers to death.” Feb 26, 2009 by
Mark from Seattle,WA
“Golden Nugget is a nice Hotel-Casino. I was very impressed with the room, Feb 13, 2009 by
Roxanne from Tucson,AZ
“The room I was upgraded to was a very nice experience. The bed was so comfortable. I slept like a baby. The window view was of steam pipes and construction, but what can you expect in LV. I enjoyed the bath robes and the bathroom scale in the room. I really enjoyed my stay. I will be back again next year. Thanks.” Jan 22, 2009 by
Chris from Indianapolis,IN
“Very nice hotel. Very nice rooms and the dining options within the hotel were excellent.” Jan 21, 2009 by
Dustin from Murray,UT
“Great hotel, very well upgraded and near Freemont Street and the strip. The room in the South Tower was clean. The beds were a little bit soft and there was no option for a microwave, but overall, I would recommend this hotel.” Jan 17, 2009 by
Colette from Taylorsville,UT
“Loved this hotel. Probably the nicest one I've ever stayed at. I would love to stay their again.” Jan 13, 2009 by
from Los Alamos,NM
“I lost two hair clips and I am pretty sure that I left them on the bathroom table. But when I came back to get them and they are gone and the janitor said she didn't see them. That is ridiculous.” Dec 31, 2008 by
Amy from Encino,CA
“The Golden Nugget is fine, but we feel we'll stay on the strip from now on. There was not enough parking, so we had to park at a different hotel and get reimbursed. They are building on to the hotel, so hopefully that will improve. The room was comfortable, but the bathroom was small. Also, no one cleaned our room while we were there (2 days).” Dec 31, 2008 by
Vinayaka from Farmington Hills,MI
“If you are looking to spend sometime in the downtown there is no better place than this. It is close to the Fremont Experience. The hotel parking is also great and close. The hotel rooms are also tasteful. I liked the concept of providing free bath robes which I did not see anywhere else. Even the restaurants looked decent. However, I did not notice any good shows being put up in the hotel. This is one area for improvement. Overall value for money.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Dec 18, 2008 by

“Hotel staff forgot to clean room. This was disappointing. Other than that, excellent hotel. Did not like the constant badgering for Wyndham Resort presentation.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 20, 2008 by

“The Golden Nugget is located in a prime spot to check out the Fremont Street Experience. The jewel of downtown lives up to its name. The new pool is a real treat for adults and children alike. You can not go wrong staying at the GN.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 17, 2008 by

“It is a good place to stay for business traveler and for young people looking to party.” Nov 16, 2008 by
Daalf from Yorkville,IL
“Hotel was elegant, clean, parking is convenient, pool gets an A+. Food is a good value for what you get. Two things I didn't care for were; the lighting in the room was insufficient and there were too many smokers in the hotel. In all it was a good value.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 10, 2008 by
Chris from Riverside,CA
“Could have been cleaner, too much construction debris throughout parking structure and entry to hotel. Was not aware that construction was going to start at 3:30 am, was not able to sleep and I had to be at a business meeting at 8:00 am. It would have been nice if they would have disclosed construction times. They need better filtration even their non smoking room smelt like smoke.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 5, 2008 by

“Room was very nice and clean. Waiter in restaurant was very friendly. Door man and bell men were also very friendly and helpful.” Nov 4, 2008 by

“Enjoyed every minute that we were there. Fast line ups for the buffet dining room. Good food in the buffet especially the seafood buffet. We highly recommend and would certainly stay at the Golden Nugget again.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 4, 2008 by

“This hotel is a rare gem downtown.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 21, 2008 by

“The 1st room had wet carpet and smelled like a dog. After walking back to the front desk, a good 10min walk, I was given another room. No concerns from the hotel staff about giving me a room with wet carpet. Once at the new room, the door keys did not work. Another hike back to the front desk. Waited another 35 min in line for new keys. I was told I must have put the key near a magnetic strip. The key was in my hand the entire time. They argued with me, and gave me another key. Any questions or help I needed answers to were met by staff that didn’t know anything about it. Worst stay I have ever had in Vegas in the 25+ years I have been going. This was my 1st and last stay at the Golden Nugget.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 18, 2008 by

“Very clean and the people were friendly.” Sep 14, 2008 by
Tracy from Richmond, VA
“This hotel is by far the nicest one in the Freemont area. If your staying here it would be wise to get all day passes for the deuce. There's lots of casinos and lights in this area, fun bingo game down the road but that's about it. Hotel itself was awesome and would stay again.” Sep 13, 2008 by
Kimberlee from Orem, UT
“The hotel has said they are comping our room because of all the trouble we had with the air conditioning. I hope between them and you it shows up on my credit card statement. If the air conditioning and the beds were improved it would be a great place to stay. The beds were horrible!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Sep 12, 2008 by

“Hotel is very hard to approach, because of one ways in the downtown and some road work/closes during my stay. There is Signup to locate the hotel from far. Coming to inside the rooms, Hotel has very old interior and beds are really bad. Water from bathroom (tub) is really not flushing fast. I really won't recommend any one.” Sep 11, 2008 by
Kimberly from Rosemead, CA
“This hotel never disappoints. The staff is friendly and accommodating. You feel safe and secure walking around in the wee hours of the morning.” Sep 7, 2008 by
Lisa from Nampa, ID
“The Golden Nugget is a beautiful and lavish hotel. For a family with preteen children, the pool was the absolute highlight. However, having such a fabulous pool, one would think there would be more amenities for families. The arcade was a joke, maybe 6 games and most of them were broken. The cable TV did not get any kid's networks. The brunch buffet was expensive, and cold. Nothing tasted as good as the lavish interior would suggest. We would have enjoyed McDonalds more and saved the money. Vegas used to be known for it's buffet's, now everything is more expensive then home and tastes worse.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.
