- I had to upgrade to a different room to get a king bed.

“While our room was clean and comfortable, we requested a non-smoking room that smelled like smoke. Also we had some difficulty finding the front desk, it was not clearly marked when entering from the parking garage.”

- Good location.

“This hotel was met my expectation. It was clean and the staff was friendly. We enjoyed all parts of the hotel from the hotel parking to the check out by TV. The room was beautiful and the linen was comfortable. The pool was lovely.”

- Service was excellent. Asked for something and it was brought to room in minutes.
- Long lines, computers were down, pizza was not good.
“It was nice staying at New York, New York. Interesting information placed around front of hotel about 9/11. Made me cry to think of innocent lives lost. Happy to know there are some who are interested in dedication rather than just making money.”

- How it looks from the outside.
- Rooms.
“I assumed a 4-Star hotel rating would mean some sort of consistency across Las Vegas. The New York Hotel is definitely not a 4-Star hotel. I would perhaps give it a 3, at best. As soon as you walk in, the hordes of low-brow clientele overwhelm you. Squeeze by the into a long line and unhelpful staff at the front desk. Finally, when you make your way through the maze and into your room, it is a true disappointment. The rooms have seen better days - 15 years ago. They are definitely stale. The bedspread was disgusting and I don't even want to know the last time it was laundered. The windows look out into nothingness, and the beds were worn as well. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.”

- Everything. The concept is awesome. I love New York. Everything in house.
“Loved it.
NY has everything to offer whether traveling for business or pleasure. The Broadway room with the view of the mountains was amazing. Restaurants excellent. Great clubs. ESPNZ one is cool etc. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Vegas.”

- Location.
- Inability to reserve a room type (king vs. doubles).
“Nice hotel, excellent location, okay room. Priceline reserved a Skyline room for us at New York New York and the front desk staff would not reserve a room type for us. (Said it was policy to not block room types). We ended up in a room with double beds sharing a bed. The room was nice but not of four-star luxury. It had a very small (19") TV with an unresponsive remote and few amenities. But it did have a large mirrored-door closet, nice tile in the bathroom (real door on bathtub/shower) and a nice view and was well-kept. Elevators were also pretty fast and uncrowded. It was nice, but I wouldn't stay here again unless I could be guaranteed a room type.”

- I loved the spa. It was affordable, and they did a great job.
- I didn't win big in the casino, but had fun.
“The New Yorker has this slice of pizza stand that has a line of 20 people from the moment it opens until it closes. Although, it takes about 15 minutes to go through the line. The $3.95 Sicilian pizza is definitely worth the wait. You feel like you are really in NY having a slice on the streets of Manhattan. The casino is set in Grant Park, with trees everywhere. I gambled in the morning. There was a little brawl going on between a man at the craps table. The pit boss, and the dealers did an excellent job of keep it under control. I was on my own, but didn't feel like it at this hotel. The gift shop was lovely, and appropriately priced. The pool seem extremely small, but it was too cold to swim.”

- Guest services was terrible.
“I will never stay here again! Have been to Las Vegas many times. The hotel said, room upgrade, two for one breakfast, roller coaster rides, cocktails and for a certain date, add coupon for Star Bucks. Our room didn't face anything except the roller coaster and air blowers. Were told by desk staff, we don't know anything, complaint to the director of Hotel Training and Guest Relations. Did nothing to resolve our problems. I don't like being offered something and not getting it, stayed at MGM before this, no problems at all. I don't plan to return to NY-NY.”

- They gave us a free upgrade to a small suite.
- Checking in and out took far too long.
“Much better than expected. I felt like it was one of the better kept mega hotels on the strip and to top it off, they gave us a free upgrade on the room to a small suite with a Jacuzzi and very nice flat screen TV. I would absolutely stay there again. It took a long time to check in and out but I think their computers were acting funny. At least that's what the lady told me at check in.”

“I thought getting a four star room on a Sunday in Vegas would be really nice. The room was average at best and small. The front desk staff was poor, the room was poor. The bathtub did not drain so taking a shower was nasty with a foot of water in the tub.”

- All of the towels were stained or dirty.

- Poor for business traveler; definitely not 4star rooms/bedding.
“As a business traveler and non-gambler, this hotel provided a 2.5 star experience (nothing like a 4star). Cleanliness was average at best, service worse, and poor in-room work surfaces. A nailed down cocktail table right under the AC, instead of a desk. Expensive internet access ($13). I also experienced a major billing error (close to $8,000) that the hotel ultimately fixed - after my credit card was cut off. Did I mention the roller coaster outside my window? Bearable but certainly not a plus. Couldn't wait to leave - and even that took time - 25 minutes as one desk clerk at 7:45am.”

- The hotel reservation receptionist was very helpful. I was very impressed by her good service.
- Only bad thing about the hotel is that it does not come with coffee maker or kettle for me to boil hot water for my infant formula milk.

- The room was attractive and immaculate. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
- The smoke and noise level in the casino.
“We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is in a great location and transportation is easy using the monorail or bus system or cabs (much more expensive!) so you really don't need a car. We had a lovely view of the strip from our room on the 27th floor! We would love to stay here again.”

- I appreciated how many staff were available to help at any one time.
- It is not set up very well for business travelers, i.e. no desks in the rooms and the internet cord is tucked behind the television.
“Overall, my stay at this hotel was not appropriate for the kind of trip I was on. It was a business trip and I found that this hotel is not entirely prepared for this type of visit. You have to pay an extra $20 to use the work-out facilities or spa, however, free passes are begrudgingly given if you ask for them.”

- The roller coaster ride.
- Ugly lobby, very small room, extremely small bathroom, very unclean hallways and room.
“The hotel is very badly maintained, rooms are extremely dirty. The bathroom was small and had stains all over. I actually checked out of New York on 2nd day and checked in to Monte Carlo. Thus not staying the three. After this incident, I will think again.”

- Had to pay $20 to use weight room once and no available coffee in the rooms.

- I got a free upgrade to a 6th floor corner room with a nice view for free.
- Had to call for maid service on day 2 and was told it would be several hours until they came.
“Overall, I had a great experience at New York New York. It is on the strip right across from MGM Grand connected by a bridge and close to everything I like. My 6th floor corner room was very spacious even with two queen beds in it. There's lots to do and the casino interior is more brightly lit than some others, which matches my preference. The only things missing are a good club and a major show unless you really like Rita Ruder.”

- Good location on the famous strip, although at the far end of it.
- Carpets need replacing bed linen not clean on first night's arrival.
“Plausibly re creates the feel of Manhattan about as well as can be expected in Las Vegas, but the cleanliness of the hotel and our room in particular does not satisfy a four star rating, three to 3.5 stars is more reasonable. Carpets are worn out both in the hallways and in the room, and we found small drops of dried blood on the bed blanket not on the linens, thankfully, just on the thick outside cover. Better to stay at the MGM Grand, Monte Carlo, Paris, or Bellatrix, which charge similar rates.”

- Quality hotel in a good location. Piano bar was enjoyable as well as general atmosphere.
- No wireless Internet access or high speed for my laptop.

- Close to the airport
- smoke filled lobby, worst air in Vegas. Charge extra for everything. Food in hotel is very poor. Think grade school lunch room at 10X the price.
“The worst hotel that I have ever visited in Las Vegas. The place is not well ventilated so the smoke just hangs there and hits you in the face. The food is way overpriced and reminded me of grade school lunchroom food. You would think the place would be happy to get your gambling money, but they charged extra for everything. I forgot a razor and it cost me almost $6. If you leave a drop of shampoo they will not give you a new bottle and it seems that they where refilling the little bottles and "sealing" them with Scotch tape. Very tacky.”

- Loved the atmosphere and location.
- Nothing I can think of.
“We loved New York, New York. Are room was great, even though we were next to the roller coaster we could barely hear it. The hotel itself was one of the best designed I thought in Vegas. Getting around wasn't hard since the New York New York is right across the street from the MGM and you can take the monorail all the way to the other end of the strip. We will be staying again on our next trip. Two thumbs up!”

- Location and variety of restaurants.
- The room had no desk.
“It was more than adequate in terms of room and amenities. The location on the strip was perfect for us and we liked the choices of an expensive meal or a quick hot dog or pizza. The casino was not as smoky as some and we appreciated that.”
