• Room was outdated and overpriced; room was not ready for an hour; mini-bar was overpriced ($5 for water).

• The finest hotel room we've stayed at.
• We think my girlfriend's bottle of perfume was possibly stolen by the room cleaner.

“The Venetian has, probably, the nicest roomiest hotel room around - with a large bathroom, toilet in a closet, great toiletries, 3 flat screen TVs per suite, and so much space. The casino has multiple great eating establishments (we went to Bouchon - this was our second time there and it was just as good as the first time we went), great shops and entertainment. We would come back to the Venetian on all future visits to Vegas. The only downer was the fact that we think the hotel maid stole my girlfriend's perfume. She used it on Friday night and we went to the Grand Canyon on Saturday. Upon our return, we noticed the bottle of perfume was no longer there. When we reported this to the front desk, she just said to log a complaint with the security guards. We thought she was just dismissing us and so we didn't even bother to log a complaint.”

• Elegance, luxury, service, excellent ventilation system - even though everyone smokes, do not smell it.

• Wandering drunks (I thought this was a classy hotel) and smoke in common areas.

“My room was in the Venezian tower which has all the Faux, rococo glory, Vegas can offer. The difficulty is that it is so far removed from the main portion of the hotel that it took a 12 minute walk to reach the casino, restaurants, etc.”

• The hotel is beautiful and just. Magnificent.
• The scent put into the air to mask the smell of smoke was way too heavy throughout the casino. I couldn't stand to play there.

“Pros: Nice hotel. Romantic and luxury. Good window view if you are in the right level and direction. Bus stop is right in front of the hotel. Cons: No free in-room internet access. Public area for WiFi is weak and unstable. Have to pass through smoky casino area before entering the room area. And many restaurants are smoky (because of casino).”

• The hotel room had a sunken living areas that made it feel unlike a standard hotel room.
• The only thing the hotel room was missing was a larger tub with jets.

“The dance club TAO was especially fun, however it had Buddha's everywhere and it seemed taboo or sacrilegious. There were multiple pools to choose from to fit anyone's mood. The pool that boasts a "beach party" theme requires an ID to enter and for 21 and older. It sounded fun, but not if you left your ID back in the hotel room, so bring your ID down to the pool just incase.”

• Loved the painted sky in the palazzo shop/restaurant area.
• Would not serve food near pool and when we went to the Wolfgang puck poolside restaurant, they told us they were between menus and to come back in 20.

“The Venetian was a beautiful, conveniently located gigantic resort. The complex was clean, well decorated, with lots of entertainment, restaurant, and shopping options. They have a great gym and spa, but guests have to pay an additional fee just to use the gym, unusual in a 5 star resort.”

“I had a great stay but: 1. I was surprised at the "5 diamond" rating. The hotel did not stand out from a typical Hilton, Sheraton etc. In terms of luxury. 2. Their version of a "suite" is really a single split level room, rather than two separate rooms. If our suite had been divided the individual spaces would have felt tiny. 3. Our room was covered in long female hairs and greasy cup stains, and I came across a discarded pair of ladies panties. 4. The wifi is as slow as molasses (768ms latency, 300Kb/s. The TV is not very intuitive.5. Pool is mobbed.”

• Customer service level is not what it was a few years ago.

“The Venetian is still nice however there has been recent changes that have hurt their customer service. They charged me an additional $35 a night for two queen instead of one king. On the first night we asked for additional pillows and blankets. We called twice to confirm, they never showed up. Valet service was rude, the sign says valet service for hotel guest only. Before we even could talk to him he kept trying to move us out of the way. Until we can get his full attention and say we're guest of the hotel. His response was well you should show your hotel key next time. It would be nice to have been asked first instead of being pushed out of the way. More rude and incompetent workers throughout the hotel made our stay with The Venetian this time a huge disappointment.”

• After we were already checked into our room and left for dinner, a hotel employee left a grocery style bag of 6 dirty glasses in our room.

“Very nice however, was not fully satisfied by the Concierge desk employee who failed at the only single task we asked of her. The room was great, however, the 6 filthy glasses in a grocery style bag left in our room after we had checked in and left for dinner was absolutely unacceptable and disgusting.”

“This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Anyway, we get there at one in the morning and it turns out they overbooked the entire weekend. There are families and groups of people stranded in their lobby sitting around waiting for their rooms. They told us that we would have our room in two hours. Families with little kids and senior citizen couples were stranded around the lobby sleeping on the floor and no one from management was telling us what was going on. They let us sit there with no explanations and no compensation for our time on the floor. In fact, security was telling people to stop sleeping in the lobby, but people didn't have anywhere to go! Management was telling people to wait in the lobby and security was telling people not to loiter in the lobby. It was a horrible way to treat guests of the hotel. And the two hours that we were supposed to wait turned into seven. We got our room at quarter to eight in the morning. And the room that we reserved with two king beds wasn't even available. They gave us a king bed and one couch with a pull out bed in a room that wasn't that well cleaned. There were half drunken juice bottles by the window which we noticed when we opened the curtain. They said they would call us once our original room was ready. No one contacted us all weekend. I will never stay in this hotel again. Try to stay somewhere else.”

“The hotel was beautiful and very clean. The staff was polite and eager to help. However if you have children, a large party or anyone in your party that cannot walk long distances, is confused with directions easily or things of that nature I would recommend a smaller hotel perhaps just off the strip.”

“We were treated fabulously from the moment we walked in, to the moment we left. Hotel is luxuriant. Staff is more than accommodating. Safety was never a worry. Met, and even exceeded all expectations. Ate in three of the many restaurants, made eating out at home a sad affair. Would recommend it highly! Hope I have the chance to stay on another occasion.”

• Everything is at your finger tips, restaurants, shops, gambling, spa, etc. Nothing was spared. I even experienced an art gallery of renown artists.
• A few employees behind counters did not take time to acknowledge me as they attended to matters or left the area.

“99% of the employees were friendly, helpful, and seemed to care about service and attitude. It was obvious that the owner built the facility and spared nothing to make one feel special. Parking was a breeze. The entrance is spectacular! The marable throughout, including the bathrooms, raised the bar. The lightness of the casino made it inviting to be there. The only negative is too much smoking, including cigar smoke. I had to leave certain areas when a smoker sat beside me. However, I always was able to find another machine to play.”

“To be 5 star, everything has to be catered to the guest and that is what the Venetian is lacking in. Even the time it takes for the front desk to answer the phone.”
