• Room was not ready at 1:00am we waited with children for an hour and a half in cafe till 2:00am.

“By far the nicest property I have ever been booked at through a discounter. Bathroom was bigger than some hotel rooms I have stayed in. Big Shower, Big, Deep Bath-tub, separate water closet, TV. Two big flat screens. Split level bedroom and living room areas. Sofa (foldout), love seat, recliner, & desk. As family friendly as any casino hotel can be.”

• The hall way noise but it is Vegas and people don't go to bed early like I do.

“Upon arrival (checked in at 3 pm as stated/recommended), my room was NOT available so I had to settle with a smoking room and I don't smoke and hate it. When I asked the why I my non-smoking room isn't available the clerk quickly/slightly rudely said "your late to checking in." I told her it said 3 pm "how am I late?" she just said all non-smoking rooms are currently not available and I can get one tomorrow If I call in the morning. The room was very nice and large along with the clean/nice bathroom. Although the beds pillows had cigarette burns on them that was the only downfall, besides the smell. Twice and at different times house-keeping tried to enter my room with me inside and the privacy please notice on the door and when they tried to enter it seemed like they were trying to forcefully enter! I thought I was going to get robbed or something. House cleaning touched my stuff even though it wasn't in the way and I had to buy new toothbrushes (that were in my suitcase and taken out) and other personal affects due to this. And the layout of the hotel can be more thoughtful of guests. Got lost many times trying to find restaurants and when I asked for help the staff wasn't in the mood to polite fully tell me where to go. Seemed like more of hassle for them. The shops were great and convenient but the Restaurants were terribly over-priced for the quality and taste of the dishes they serve. They don't come close to the chefs that the restaurant represents. I've had actual food from the Iron Chef's and others that have the same menu that the Vegas copy has. But again taste didn't compare to the original. I ate at other hotels after the first day of Venetian restaurants. Casino was nice but the waitress service for drinks was very slow and not too frequent despite the courteous tips I gave as well as when I gave the slot machines, and blackjack tables even more and more money. Went out for gambling as well. Overall the location was great.”

“Other than being overwhelmingly huge, it was lovely. But it IS very crowded and busy and check-in even at 11 PM was NUTS. The room was huge and lovely, though and the restaurants we ate in were great.”

• The hotel room was very nice and clean.
• The hallway on our floor did not seem to get cleaned very often. Seen same food and glass on the floor for 2 days.

“Overall, the Venetian Hotel was very nice. For the most part clean, except the hallway to our room. The same garbage (food and glass) seemed to be on the floor in the same spot for over 2 days. The room was cleaned once a day, with tidy-up and turns down service in the evening. (I think they forgot to vacuum.) These items are very petty, and my overall stay was nice and comfortable, I guess for the money I spent, I wanted perfection.”

• Awesome sight, friendly staff/ nice stores.
• Charge for Internet Access in rooms is disgraceful when a no-name hotel offers the same for free.

“The Venetian offers lives up to its hype and offers everything from decadent lobbies to Gondola Rides (you have to part with an arm and a leg) to elegantly appointed rooms. Blue Man Group' and 'The Phantom of the Opera' are dated shows and could do with a breath of fresh air.”

• There was nothing we didn't like about the hotel.

“If there weren't a thousand other reasons to go, The Venetian alone would be reason enough to go to Las Vegas. Such a gorgeous atmosphere and fantastic shopping and restaurants. We had an amazing time.”

• Beautiful hotel, very clean, very friendly and helpful staff. Please keep it up!
• Nothing that hotel staff could control but some of the people who were staying at the hotel looked a bit seedy.

“This hotel was gorgeous, great service, room very comfortable and clean. We had such a good time here. I loved the spa, the common areas were clean, and everything was up to par with what I would expect. I just wish that there weren't so many younger, loud people staying in the hotel. That was the only drawback. The people in the hallways were loud late at night.”

• Location is too far from rest of strip.

“The hotel was very nice. It held our party very comfortably. The hotel provided us with everything we needed and we didn't even have to leave the hotel. Their gambling facilities are great, the restaurants are good, the club is very nice and the rooms were gorgeous.”

• It was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on.

“This hotel is beautiful and has many wonderful restaurants and activities. It is in the perfect location on the Las Vegas strip. I have one comment that affected my visit. Since it was a five star hotel, I was expecting the beds to be comfortable, but it was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on. It was like a bed from a one star motel, hard, old and just plain uncomfortable. The blankets weren't very great either. I was just disappointed with this as this is the hotel that I always wanted to stay at, but most likely will not return to for an overnight stay.”

• Alarm clocks nearly impossible to turn off resulting in very rude awakenings.

“This is a very high quality North Strip property that left very little to be desired. The rooms/suites were extremely large and well furnished. There were three flat screen televisions in our room. The bed and bedding was very comfortable. The alarm clock was set and armed, and it was a very rude awakening our first morning when it jolted us awake very, very early. Figuring out how to turn it off and make sure it wouldn't go off again was nearly impossible - and I consider myself to be fairly competent in endeavors of this nature. We were also awakened another morning by the alarm going off for an extended time in an adjacent suite. The internet service (at $9.95/day) was terribly slow and unreliable, as well. Relatively minor issues, though. Everything else was fantastic.”

• Requested twice (on phone and in writing) for a larger sized robe and was given an additional robe of same size.

“I was pleased with the hotel, but it did not meet my expectations of what I thought a 5 star should be. Had to call someone to the room and it took two employees to figure out how to set the alarm and time on the clock! Bathroom was huge and really nice. For the cost of the room, you would think they could throw in free internet access. I would stay there again, but I would rate this hotel currently at a 4 star.”

• The room location set the tone for us. It was terrible.

We could not open the curtains because of how disgusting it looked outside and there was no outside sunshine to lighten our room because we were in a pit hole. And to add to it the hotel staff threw the pool chairs in the loading dock area right into our window. The room was so dark at night with very little lighting you could hardly see, and no sunshine coming in during the day. I hated every minute of our stay there.”

• Cigarette smoke permeated the casino at all times.

“The suite was huge, the bathroom was great, and the service was very good. I loved the spa. I ate at Enoteca San Marco. Very disappointing for a Mario Battali restaurant.”

• The room view was disappointing. Difficult layout. Easy to get lost and difficult to find your way around.

“The Venetian is definitely a five star hotel. The suites are beautifully appointed, the bathrooms luxurious, the service was stellar from check in and concierge services, to room service etc, I went to visit the hotel regarding possible future wedding sites, banquet rooms, etc, and I was less than impressed with some of the 'mandatory' selections as far as weddings, though the venues themselves were ok.”

“There was nothing disclosed or in the information that the Gym was at an extra fee. The gym is located in the hotel and access is through the guest only floors. If you are interested in a gym, recommend finding another hotel on the strip.”

• Inconsiderate design and operation.

“The Venetian is a very large hotel and a great disappointment for a claimed 5 star property. To go from the parking garage to a hotel room requires three elevators and crossing a bridge or two elevators and a casino tour. The room had three flat panel TVs but none worked properly due to their operating system. Room lighting was dim and useless for reading. Information in the guest brochures was incorrect. Housekeeping took our used towels after one night and didn't replace them. The management took no corrective action. There are no coffee makers in the rooms. But they do have remote-controlled drapes - except you have to yank them. Asking staff for information was frustrating as they did not know the property. The pools looked okay and there were lots of restaurants. They did not replace shampoo or soap. The hotel is an operational nightmare and an unpleasant experience. The bed was comfortable but there were light controls on only one side.”

• No coffee/tea making facilities in the room.

“I loved it, my friend loved it and so did the kids. The attention to the smallest detail was amazing. You wouldn't even need to leave the hotel for any further amusement. Nothing was lacking except for the fact that I couldn't make tea in my suite.”

“The decor and the layout of the room are both impressive. Technically, the room is convenient with remote drapes, and a flat panel in the bedroom and lower living room. A fax in the room was also provided.”

“This hotel was amazing especially with the price. All rooms are mini-suite, the bed was so comfy you didn't want to get out of it, 3 flat TV was a great feature when two of you don't want o watch the same channel, the decor was made with lots of taste. Loved it, loved it, and loved it!”

“You never need to leave the resort property day, noon or night. There is such a variety of dining options, shopping options and casino gaming to choose from. Relax by one of several pools or enjoy the spa. This is my second stay here and we discover something with each visit. Look forward to returning again soon.”

“I felt like for a little bit more, I could have booked with the hotel directly and probably would have gotten better service from the hotel. On the previous day, we were told that a late check out was possible. On the day off when we called to request one, we were told that we had to be out by 11 AM, after 15-20 minutes we would be charged for another day.”

• Housekeeping was lacking in response time & some requests were ignored.

“Although I've stayed at the Venetian previously (soon after they opened), this was my first trip back since. I was disappointed by availability of channels on television. We also requested the couch bed to be made up and it never was (either night we stayed). Housekeeping was either very busy or short-staffed because both requests were satisfied in the middle of the night (after we were asleep). We mentioned there were 3 of us staying in the room, yet we always had to request more towels, etc. for the room. Some of the bulbs were out in the lighting fixtures as well. Overall I was disappointed in the hotel performance based on the price we paid to stay there. I would probably go somewhere else next time.”
