“This hotel serviced lousy service and the one who answered the phone could not give me the answer I was looking for like the working hours for spa and the bathtub problem. I was usually asked to hold on for a long time when I called the reception desk.”

“The hotel location is off the Strip so I was able to avoid all the traffic congestion. The deluxe rooms were very spacious. The cocktail waitresses came by often and the service was quick, not like some other casinos where I would have to track down a waitress.”

• Our room was smoked filled from the person next door and this was a non-smoking floor.

“My wife and I didn't enjoy stay (we got sick) that much after complaining about a strong odor of smoke in the room and being told by the front desk staff that it is from the hallway (on a non-smoking floor!). Our 2nd room still had an odor of smoke but less.”

• The casino isn't quite as huge as some of the others.
• It is horribly smoky. The ventilation system is not very good.

“It was clean and the location was very good. They want to nickel and dime you for everything. Watch out for the resort fee, they hit you up for at check out. Casino area was very Smokey compared to other hotels. Overall, though it was good and a great value for the money.”

• Beautiful room, pretty good food, the casino was great.
• I liked it pretty well, no complaints.

“The hotel room was lovely with a nice, large bathroom. The casino was a lot of fun with plenty of slot machines to take your money all away. The restaurants were pretty good and it was great to have something open all night. Everything was so convenient. And, while we were there some famous drag racers were signing autographs an added bonus.”

• The waitress service in the casino was a little on the slow side.

• Great room, wonderful amenities, including a bowling alley and movie theatres. Great!
• Crowded! Too many smokers. They should have a separate area for non-smokers.

“This was a great experience. My first time at Orleans and I'd definitely go again. As with all Las Vegas Hotels, there are way too many smokers, smoking wherever they please which is highly annoying not to mention unhealthy. If they were to segregate the smokers from the non-smokers, that would make for an even better experience. Just a suggestion, although I know it will never happen. But overall, a wonderful place to stay.”

• I lost a white shirt in the room and was never found even I checked with housekeeping daily.

“I lost a white shirt in the room. I believe the maid took it by mistake because she left 3 white pillow cases on top of my suit case where I placed my shirt. It was never found during my six nights stay and I had to fill out a report with all my personal confidential information with security if I want them to follow up on the search. I preferred not to give out all my personal information and I think my shirt is gone forever.”

• Super friendly, helpful staff. All there to please you! The cleanliness of the property was superb.
• The only thing I did not like was the rubber-type sheet.

“I highly recommend The Orleans for friendliness and helpfulness of ALL the staff, the safe distance from the Strip (it has good surroundings), the size of the rooms are bigger than most with extremely nice furniture, the only newer hotel I've stayed at lately that has a functional window in the bathroom, and last but not least, the upkeep and cleanliness of the entire property.”

• The fitness center/spa was absolutely great, and free, unlike other Vegas casino hotels that charge $15 for use.
• Quite a ways off the strip, although they do have a shuttle.

“Good place to stay if you don't need immediate access to the glitz of the new or old strip and the gaming and eating spaces are good. The buffet was pretty good, one of the better I've had in Vegas when considering the cost. It looks like the sports book area is pretty good. The chandeliers in the gaming area are pretty cool looking.”

• Valet service was quick and friendly.
• My room reeked of smoke and it was on a non-smoking floor.

“I would not recommend this hotel. It does not compare to Harrah's or the New York, New York where I have stayed previously. I spent as much here gambling as I did at the other two places and was rewarded with a grand total of $4.00. The other two places gave me about $100 in comps. Also, I wasn't told that my Coast card could be used for a discount in the store until the last of my 4 visits.”

• Good off strip location with plenty of things to do and convenient shuttle to Strip.
• Some rooms are beginning to show age and wear-and-tear.

“Overall, a very good experience. This is my third time at The Orleans and as always, it was worth the money compared to staying in The Strip. The check in staff was extremely helpful. Rooms are about due for some updating, though they are still nice and clean.”

• The slot machines were very good and the buffet was great.
• My room was a handicap room with wheelchair shower. Did not like that.

“The hotel was very nice and clean. Not on the strip but not hard to get too. The buffet was very good. Did not get to enjoy everything, got sick. Bad old flu. Would stay here again, only thing to look out for is being given a handicapped room. Did not like it at all.”

• $5 per day resort fee added at check in.

“I have stayed at this property on two other occasions. Since that time, the prices have increased by nearly 50% without any increase in amenities, food quality or looser slots. What really upset us was the imposition of an additional $5 fee at check in. This is a deceptive business practice which means I will not stay at this property in the future.”

• Clean, spacious, quiet rooms, great casino, excellent value. The Italian style fritatta at the Courtyard Cafe!
• Smoky casino.

“Arriving after 6 PM, we were given two rooms on a non-smoking floor (18th), one with a beautiful view of the mountains, the other had a FANTASTIC strip view! (A small tip I gave the receptionist may have helped.) At the far end of the hall from the elevators, the rooms were very quiet and were clean and more spacious than the average room. The 2 queen beds were firm and comfortable. Housekeeping provided very good service. Staff in general were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast at the Courtyard Cafe, the only meals we ate at the Orleans, were excellent! The layout of the casino is very good, with tables in the center dividing the slot areas, and a fun atmosphere for playing. The beverage servers in the casino were rather brusque and unfriendly, and the casino is smoky, but since I was winning consistently, those seemed very minor annoyances! The distance from the strip is an inconvenience, but the shuttle runs regularly, and a cab ride to the strip is only about $8 plus tip. All in all, I would highly recommend a stay at the Orleans!”

• Internet wireless was very expensive, also hotel added a $5 daily resort charge.

• Business travelers are roomed in quiet sections away from elevators and foot traffic.
• Doors to rooms are very heavy and hard for a 100 pound woman to push open.

“Very pleasant staff from valet all the way through to room service and domestic service. Business travelers are given rooms away from elevators where there is not a lot of foot traffic and doors slamming in the middle of the night. Several restaurants and a couple of coffee shops make starting and ending a business day convenient. Rooms have plenty of artificial light available for work.”

• The hidden "Resort Fee" of $5/day that is not disclosed up front.

“I was most upset about the fact the hotel tried to charge me another $5/day (they called it a "resort fee" for the use of the fitness room, coffee maker and other things I never used. I refused to pay this fee to the hotel and essentially, they told me that they had the right to charge whatever "resort fee.”

• In the past, great customer service at front desk but during this visit, service was average.

“The rooms are very spacious for the price which is our main reason for staying here. The casino is big but not as crowded as those on the strip. There are many restaurants and bars to choose from. There is an arcade, movie theatre, and 70 lane bowling alley within the hotel. This is our 2nd time at this hotel in 3 months and we will definitely return here on our next trip to Vegas.”

• The hotel is off the strip and makes parking easy.
• The mold stains in the bathroom and a wobbly toilet.

“I have stayed at the Orleans on business before and the rooms seemed better cared for in the past. I would recommend it to other business travelers for the Las Vegas area. It is close to the strip with easy access to parking so you don't have to wait for your car.”

• The accessibility of staff, food, and entertainment was incredibly high.
• Door to room opens to bed (lack of privacy), no primer for new gamblers.

“If you've visited Las Vegas before, there is more to see than just the strip. The Orleans offers gaming and slots, excellent dining, and access to urban commerce. If you want to see the strip again, a free shuttle can take you back and forth.”
