• Very clean, friendly staff and comfortable bed, roomy.
• Shower head did not work well, water would get extremely hot or cold, room 215. Confusing layout, no elevator.

“Convenient location, very comfortable, clean and quiet rooms. You feel well taken care of. 4 things made it fall short of an A+ score: The shower head did not work properly and the water temperature would change unexpectedly; It can get quite confusing finding your room when you are first directed to it and there is no elevator.”

• Room was very small.

“Hotel is a good location and easy to find. There seemed to be plenty of parking. The pool was clean and of a good size. The continental breakfast was good. The room was quite small, but the bed was comfortable.”

• Really Nice continental breakfast area. Clean and comfortable area.
• The bathrooms were old and dirty looking - very small room - air conditioner didn't work - can hear everything outside - would never stay in again.

• It was clean had in room coffee and blow dryer, and the swimming pool was warm.
• Noisy noisy!

“I was very pleased with the hotel until night fell. The other guests were very noisy and partying all night, even with out them every time someone ran some water in their hotel room the noise was enough to wake me.”

• Perfect location for Boise State functions and being close to downtown Boise.
• We had to move rooms due to the noise/traffic. We wanted a pet room and this room was located on the backside of the hotel (not remodeled) and noisy.

“Once we switched rooms (now no longer a pet room), we had to keep our dog in our truck overnight! The traffic on the backside of the hotel was crazy!! The pet room/smoking room has also not been remodeled in about 20 years. Lots of college activities and parking area's located near this backside. Once we moved to the front side of the hotel, it was great! Quite and clean rooms/non-smoking. The staff was very accommodating.”

• A very basic, no frills comfortable motel in a quiet area.
• Small rooms with a slightly smoky smell.

“The University Inn is adjacent to Boise State University. It is a small, quiet motel. The beds are comfortable though a bit small. There are some pizza places in the neighborhood and a Starbucks across the street. The University Inn also serves a nice continental breakfast to get you going in the morning.”

• It felt like a cheap hotel.

“I wasn't impressed with the feel of this hotel. It was dark and the linens were old and worn out. The TV was tiny. It was clean but felt dirty and cheap. The fixtures were way of date.”

• Decent continental breakfast. Good Pizza restaurant across street. Close to downtown.
• Very noisy from traffic. If you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you!

“This is a motel with access from the street. We were in a room on a side street. It was right across from a BSU parking garage. There was heavy traffic until around 2:30 am every night. Running the heat or a/c unit covered some of the noise, but since the rooms are small it either became very hot or cold depending on what it was set at. If you are a light sleeper I would not recommend this place. The continental breakfast was better than expected, but the area smelled strongly of smoke. ”

• It looked like it had a nice pool area.
• The rooms were old and out dated. The room doors opened to the outside which made me feel unsafe as a female traveling alone.

“I felt that this hotel is a little run down and is need of an update. The sheets and the pillow cases were wrinkled and the TV and furniture were a little out dated. I also did not feel very safe in my room as it was on ground level and faced a busy street.”

• Small rooms, old facilities, soiled carpet, old bedspread.

“This is not a motel that we would pick to stay on our own. Actually I made an error when I clicked the buy my room now button. It was probably clean enough, but just old and not appealing.”

• Located near Downtown Boise. Near many attractions such as the zoo, art museum etc.
• It is an older motel, but it was clean.

“It is located near Downtown Boise. It would make walking to Downtown instead of driving, very nice. I noticed that it had an outside pool that would be nice in the summer time. Of course it was iced over as we stayed in February. It is near the Ann Morrison Park and Zoo and Art Museum that you would be able to walk to these instead of trying to find parking.”

• It was old, horribly noise, horribly located next to a parking garage.

“This hotel was far below my expectation. It was old, dirty, no blow dryer, it was noisy, horribly located, the lobby reeked of cigarette smoke. It was ironic that from standing in the lobby signing a document stating that I would not smoke in the room, I reeked of cigarette smoke.”

• They put us in an old section of motel with stained carpets dark & dingy.

“We thought we were to be in 2 star hotel and maybe if they had us in newer section it would have been. Disappointed to find if we had spent just a few dollars more we could have stayed in nice three star hotel in Boise instead. ”

“I would never stay there again and would never recommend it to anyone. It was very dirty and was not cleaned properly as they did not lift up the bed skirts to vacuum therefore they had ants.”

“Liked the location. It was close to the University and downtown. I was able to get in a jog along the river which was real nice. Also the bar located at the Inn made it nice to visit with friends without having to go out to do so. Very enjoyable experience.”

• The lady at the front door was very sweet and helpful.
• The non smoking room smelt like smoke and things did not work.

“It was right off of the main road, pretty easy to access. The late night bar type thing they had provided lots of unwanted smells when you first walked into the lobby, so my first impression was not good. The rooms were also smelly. We were able to walk to a good place or some food late at night and the bed was very comfortable. The TV controller did not work and the variety of channels was limited. Trying to contact them to talk about it has been a pain. I would not say I had and excellent stay but, I would consider staying there once more, because we got a good deal. But I never pay the full skiing price for that room ever in a million years.”

“It was a good hotel, not far from lots of places to eat and also the freeway (if you're just passing through like we were). It had a good continental breakfast and everyone was nice. The pool was cold but the hot tub was nice. If you're passing through Boise and need a place to stay this is a good place.”

• Very noisy, poor insulation, no elevators to upstairs, small rooms.

“There was no elevator to the upstairs rooms, so we had to move from that room to another, which was so noisy that we had to move again. The rooms are very small, old, and poorly insulated. The staff was friendly and helpful, though, and accommodating to our needs.”

• The lobby and breakfast area had a very strong smoke smell.

“The first impression I had was when driving up to the hotel which I didn't think was anything special and much more on the lower end of hotels. Then in the lobby the smell of smoke was so strong it hurt my chest. I was, at this point, pleasantly surpised to see how the room was clean and free from the smoke smell. There was only two bath towels left each day and I usually use two myself so I had to share which was a bummer. Most hotels I've been to leave at least four. The breakfast was fine, nothing fancy but it was right next to the smelly lobby and so the breakfast area was just as stinky. I couldn't sit in the breakfast area to enjoy even a muffin, I just took it back to the room. I did a little business while I was there and the staff was very helpful by faxing some items for me and contacting me when I received anything. They did not deliver anything to me but I was contacted and for that I was grateful. Overall the stay was fine as long as I didn't spend too much time in the lobby.”

• While being gone for 2 weeks, we were allowed to keep our truck there at no charge.
• Free breakfast started at 6am, not at 5am.

“If you come to Boise, stay here. Nice outdoor pool, great little lounge, and very nice staff. Close to airport and downtown. Rooms are on the older side, but very clean. If you forgot something, just call the desk, they will get it to you. (They loaned me a hairdryer.)”

“The University Inn lived up to its Website promises. All amenities were available as promised and the hotel regular staff operated as a concierge desk more effectively than many upscale hotels in the region.”

• It was adequate. Nothing more.
• Continental breakfast was poor. Rolls, donuts, etc. were stale and poorly presented. Barely qualified as a continental breakfast.

“It is located near downtown and near the Boise State university campus. It is an old rambling series of structures. all but one single story.”

• Good location, they tried to arrange our stay to having a pet
• We were put in a smoking room, other tenants had some sort of fight in middle of night, which caused our dog to bark

“All in all I think they tried to put us where we could easily walk the dog, but should not have put others so close to us since the hotel was not that busy, we explained that outside noises could be a problem with the dog in strange setting, and they did so she barked which I am sure bothered other tenants.”

“We were impressed with the fact that it was a mile from our event and that the all around staff were so freindly and helpful. It's clean, and in a nice area where we felt safe and our personal belongings would be fine when we left for the day.”

• The bed and the noice. There was too much noice outside during the night. That came from people.

• I liked the refrigerator and microwave.
• The TV was small and mounted very low.

“The breakfast provided was adequate and quickly replenished. The plumbing was loud when the people in the next room ran water. I would have liked to have paid less for the room, as I have gotten nicer rooms for the same or less money.”

• The hotel smelled SO bad that we could NOT stay!

“We arrived at the hotel at 12:30 at night and the desk clerk was very pleasant. We received our room key and it would NOT open the door of our 1st room. I went and found the desk clerk and he came to the room and attempted to open it and could NOT. He came back with a key to a 2nd room. We entered the room and could NOT tolerate the undescribely bad smell. The desk clerk graciously checked us into another room (our 3rd try) and again the smell was so bad and we were so tired after traveling all day that we elected go to a different hotel. My sister had just been released from a 3 week stay in the hospital and was not feeling up to all of this. We searched for another room in Boise Idaho and after stopping at numerous places, only to find that they didn't have any vacancy, finally found a room at Motel 6.”

“A nice reasonably priced hotel in the heart of Boise. All amenities were provided including a continental breakfast served in a nicely appointed room. A quiet hotel despite the fact it was on the main road. I would highly recommend it.”
