“Extremely loud all day and night.” Apr 22, 2009 by
Frances from Los Angeles,CA
“The rooms need to be upgraded. It seems like they are spending too much time on keeping the common areas of the hotel beautiful. The actual room was not up to par in comparison to other resorts in the area.” Apr 22, 2009 by
Stephanie from Fullerton,CA
“Lovely hotel, lively but classy. Excellent staff. Overpriced food, but many dining options in area so not an issue for us. Water provided everywhere for free. Is a place for families and singles. Fun overall!” Apr 20, 2009 by
Bruce from Yorba Linda,CA
“The hotel is very nice. The kids enjoyed the boats, the pool, the birds. The activities for the kids, ie golf, tennis, lawn games are great. This is the only hotel in the area that charges for each activity. The activities at other facilities are part of the experience and included in the price.” Feb 16, 2009 by
Fred from Markham,Canada
“As a day trip from San Diego, this hotel exceeded our expectations. Friendly staff, beautiful grounds, and great facilities contribute make you wish you could stay forever.” Feb 11, 2009 by
Cindy from Carlsbad,CA
“From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly. Our room was beautiful and perfect for the spa weekend we were after. Beds were amazingly comfortable.” Jan 3, 2009 by
Arnold L. from San Diego,CA
“This is a wonderful facility offering a variety of business and leisure options. Close to town yet isolated in its own right, it offers seclusion without being in the middle of nowhere. Friendly staff, high quality food, beautiful greens, and comfortable rooms all at a reasonable price.” Dec 10, 2008 by
Myers from Cheshire,OR
“Very nice but set up for the wealthy client. Elevator convenience very poor” Dec 3, 2008 by
Lyle from Westlake Village,CA
“If it were not for the resort fees this would be an excellent hotel. I do not use a computer. The 24 dollar valet fee was ridiculous for one night.” Dec 3, 2008 by
Tim from Gilbert,AZ
“Very nice location close to most attractions in Palm Springs (with in 20 miles or so). Beautiful setting including lakefront restaurants. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Set for a leisure traveler has many amenities at added cost (spa, golf, etc). There is also a mandatory $24.00 / day resort fee that was a bit of a surprise.” Nov 25, 2008 by
John from Las Vegas,NV
“Excellent facility with beautiful grounds. Whenever you walked by any staff member they were smiling and greeted you as you passed. We picked up a screw in our tire, when I called the desk to ask for information about repairs they called back within 10 minutes with directions and the name of the owner of a nearby tire shop. Much appreciated service in an unknown town, it saved us the hassle of trying to find help in an unknown town.” Oct 9, 2008 by

“It was definitely a 1st class resort-level hotel with an impressive lobby, courteous, professional staff, and well-kept, large rooms. The rooms were clean and very comfortable with a larger LCD TV, and large bathroom. It was a beautiful, comfortable, classy hotel, and would stay there again!

“The Desert Springs JW Marriott Resort & Spa is a beautiful hotel on a very nice property. Our room was way at the end of the east wing, directly overlooking the lake. In the evening they offer free boat rides that begin within the lobby. The property has a nice, large pool area, 2 golf courses, and several restaurant options. The room itself was very nice and large - it had two extremely comfortable full-sized beds with amazing linens & pillows, a shower and a bathtub, a huge flat screen TV, and a nice balcony with a couple chairs. It was a bit of a trek from our room to the lobby, but it wasn't that bad because we weren't directly overlooking the pool so there was less noise. Make sure you get a room over the lake if you can, and not facing the parking lot. The staff was very nice and accommodating and every one of them I saw in the hallway was sure to say hello. Security was around, but they didn't seem to care that this place is a 4-star resort that caters to families and couples. It was really obnoxious! However, I was able to tune it out for the most part and enjoy my stay. The poolside bar & grill was nice, as was the breakfast buffet at the lakeside restaurant. Overall, I would recommend the resort, but if you are looking for a very relaxing time, maybe mid-week would be better than on the weekend.” Sep 9, 2008 by
Scott from Hermosa Beach, CA
“I have conveyed my experience JW Westin is supposed to be Marriot's best hotel, but we experienced just the opposite.” Aug 1, 2008 by
Karen from Las Vegas, NV
“Wonderful staff very clean rooms the pool area was great for romance or kids.” Jul 12, 2008 by
Rebecca from Los Alamitos, CA
“Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely go again.” Jul 8, 2008 by
Susan from Riverside, CA
“There was a great for security at pool facilities, cops and undercover, that staff was rude, they searched my young minor daughter's bag while she was trying to enter pool by herself, while they had a whole pool full of Iranian males in pool being rowdy. They also stopped her another time when she was trying to bring a bag of popcorn that she bought at their facility. Pretty ridiculous. Makes one wonder what's going on there.” Jun 5, 2008 by
Avivit from San Diego, CA
“We felt good at this hotel, but one thing that bothered us was, that everything you wanted to have cost money, where in other hotels doesn't cost. Like: internet for our laptop, you want to rent a movie from the TV, every where else cost around 8-9$, it costs $14, things at the pool to play with. The night club at the hotel cost entrance the same as people coming not from the hotel, and so on and on. Over all was very good, the kids loved it there.” Jun 5, 2008 by
Candace from Oro Valley, AZ
“We will never return to this "resort" or any other Marriot property. We were extremely disappointed with "what we got for the money".” May 30, 2008 by
Shanta' from Los Angeles, CA
“Upon arrival, you feel like you have arrived at the latest hot spot. I guess coming in on a Saturday night will do that. Apparently, the hotels nightclub is the place to be. The rooms were great for the price, but the view was non-existent - room service food was wonderful as was the room service staff. The rest of the hotel staff was so-so. Some of them definitely knew what was going on in the hotel, and some of them definitely did not. The second bartender I interacted with during my stay definitely lost points for the hotel, as he was very condescending when it was he that was not able to answer a simple question. Pretty much screwed up my last night at the hotel. I would return, but I would make requests for my rooms location and would not frequent certain parts of the establishment.” May 29, 2008 by
Carly from Los Angeles, CA
“It is a large nice hotel set on a golf course and surrounded by a small man made lake. The service was fine, yet room service took a bit longer than anticipated. The buffet was wonderful. The pool areas were overly crowded due to the holiday weekend which was annoying. But the weather was nice and once we finally got a lawn chair to lay out in the late afternoon it became more enjoyable.” May 28, 2008 by
Linda from Simi Valley, CA
“An oasis in the desert. Good service. Visit leaves on refreshed and relaxed. Plenty of pools.” Apr 30, 2008 by
June from Santa Monica, CA
“Although this is a huge resort, the staff were all very courteous and helpful. The room was well appointed and clean and the bathroom was large with separate shower and tub. The sheets on our bed were of very good quality and very soft and there were many clean, fluffy pillows on the bed to choose from. My daughter slept on the convertible sofa bed though, and it was extremely uncomfortable and the blanket provided was not very nice. The resort had all the conveniences that one could desire. Their claim to fame is a boat that you catch in the lobby and take to the various restaurants on the property via a multi-channeled lake. Its especially attractive at night with the fountains and hotel all lit up. It may have been just the time we were there, but there seemed to be quite a singles scene going on in the lobby's bar all the time and they were quite noisy going back to their rooms late at night. There were also many families and business meetings and wedding parties as well. We enjoyed our stay there and would return, though we would get a room with two beds next time.” Apr 16, 2008 by
Elizabeth from Costa Mesa, CA
“Nice property but a bit run down and too much bird poop. Someone spilled coffee in front of our door and there it stayed the entire time we were there.” Apr 10, 2008 by
Mona from Aliso Viejo, CA
“Great hotel for dining & relaxing at the bar. Public spaces were very active and inviting.” Apr 9, 2008 by
Jonathan from Fort Wayne, IN
“Nice hotel with beautiful public spaces and an excellent lobby area. While the hotel is a bit big, staff to guest ratio seemed appropriate. Rooms were clean and comfortable with spacious and separate bath and shower areas. Great place to take either a family, or golf retreat.” Apr 9, 2008 by
Kelle from Calabasas, CA
“Hotel is centrally located & has a lot of amenities and activities. There are multiple pools, golf courses, putting green, and big lobby, boats on the lake, shopping, a nightclub and more. Enjoyable for all different groups of people. Rooms are adequately sized, with large bathrooms (separate tub & shower) and nice balconies.” Mar 12, 2008 by
Debbie from Chatsworth, CA
“Both Rooms were so noisy it was ridiculous, All I can say is I didn't get any sleep and I was taking a few days off to relax, which didn't happen and the 200.” Dec 7, 2007 by
Andy from Sonora, CA
“We enjoyed our stay. Convenient, fun, and comfortable. Some of the front desk staff was inconsiderate, but service was excellent otherwise. The macaws in the lobby and boat tours are fun and great for kids. I would return.” Dec 5, 2007 by
Lisa N. from Rancho Santa Margarita, CA
“Like I said before, I would highly recommend this hotel and have nothing negative to say about my stay. Thank you!” Nov 26, 2007 by
Kim from Santa Ana, CA
“My husband, mother and father spent Thanksgiving at the resort. It was so relaxing. We ate on Thanksgiving at the Sea Grille and it couldn't have been better. This resort is absolutely gorgeous. The staff was kind, gave us very large rooms next to each other. I will definitely go back.” Nov 7, 2007 by
Jake from La Jolla, CA
“Rooms that open to the lobby get subjected to lots of noise (too much) until about 11:30 pm. After that died down, the room parties went till 4 am. At 4:30 am, housekeeping was vacuuming what a nightmare.” Jul 6, 2007 by
A T. from Beverly Hills, CA
“The hotel charges an additional $20 per day which is supposed to cover your internet connection as well. Paid $40 for 2 days and it didn't work even for a minute! The valet charges $22 a day! At the end they also tried to over charge but once I noticed they corrected it.” Jun 24, 2007 by
Matthew from Edmonds, WA
“Very attractive property. Huge open lobby with lots of seating. Registration desk staff was unfriendly.” Jun 20, 2007 by
Roger from Goleta, CA
“Not worth the money because they didn't offer all the services they advertise. I went for a complete SPA weekend and only got a room, room service & pool. Pretty but no delivery on Luxury services. Very disappointed. This was my 4th time at this hotel (past experiences were good), but I will never go back.” Apr 12, 2007 by
Erin from La Mesa, CA
“I would recommend this hotel to families, couples or business travelers. The property was beautiful! The staff was very friendly and the resort offered many activities so you could do as much or as little as you pleased without ever leaving the property.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Mar 19, 2007 by

“I stayed in this hotel for 4 years. This year was my most unpleasant experience; security level was very low, too much attention paid to conventions, etc. Not to leisure customers. Staff at the reception is mostly trainees, so they have very little experience. Could not get late checkout, as a courtesy to old customer (former).” Sep 7, 2006 by
William from Concord, CA
“Very nice hotel. I have stayed at the jw in lass Vegas before. The room had two double beds instead of a king. We had to take these rooms because the hotel was over booked. We had drunk people yelling out in the hallway, at 3am.Also the hotel is under construction . The staff were very nice, but I would not stay there again .” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 15, 2006 by

“Friendly staff and wonderful hotel overall however they need to do something about the pool scene. The pool was like a scene out of MTV spring break. Tons of college age kids getting smashed and acting crazy. My husband and I were hoping to enjoy a romantic weekend away and to spend time at the pool but WOW were we in for a surprise.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Mar 1, 2006 by

“The hotel was beautiful and clean. The beds were so comfortable. My daughter and I enjoyed the boat ride to Makados.” Jul 19, 2005 by

“Wonderful place to stay and enjoy the summer heat!” May 31, 2005 by
Elizabeth from Los Angeles, CA
“This hotel is a very nice resort. Things are a little overpriced, like the buffet breakfast for almost $20.00, but it is to be expected at a place like this. Overall it was amazing.” May 12, 2005 by
Courtney from Playa Vista, CA
“This hotel is listed as "luxury resort," but does not live up to this title. The room was not clean. The TV remote did not work. The nearest elevator to our location was a 5 minute walk down 4 different hallways.” Dec 8, 2004 by
Janet K. from Aliso Viejo “We had a beautiful view of the golf course and the bed was so comfortable we never wanted to leave.”
