“Our room was not maintained. fridge did not work, lightbulbs out, towels and coffee were not replaced each day.” Oct 26, 2009 by
Dean from Los Angeles,CA
“This place is dreamy. You will drop some cash in the restaurant/bars. If you get a Priceline room here, it's top-notch for the money and the pools are beautiful. The location is still a short drive to the strip area of Palm Springs, but you still have to get in a car or cab it. Had a great stay here.” Oct 23, 2009 by
Mia from Huntington Beach,CA
“Definitley recommend the hotel .. close almost walking distant to main strip of shops and spa casino..great pool (not good and expensive drinks $13.)but rooms are very well done.. sinks both times Jul 4, 2009 by
Kristy from Hemet,CA
“I thought everyone was extremely nice. The hotel remodel looked nice, but was very confusing to navigate through the hotel. The pool was dirty and when we ordered a beer it was warm.” Jun 9, 2009 by
Rebbecca from Newport Beach,CA
“I loved the hotel and can¿t wait to go back with someone special, but as well as with the girls for a spa weekend. The guests were very nice and overall the experience was great. Would recommend securing a spot at the main pool as soon as possible as the chairs go fast!” May 21, 2009 by
Frank from Huntington Park,CA
“Great hotel. Should get better personnel who are maybe a little invested in their job and not just there between high school and college.” May 13, 2009 by
Susan from Gig Harbor,WA
“I visited the Riviera on a girlfriends getaway trip. We loved this hotel. The pool area was amazing and that was where we spent the majority of our time. We even ordered pizza in and watched movies to enjoy our room. The bed was very comfortable and the pull out sofa was nice to have. Loved the bathtub and shower. Everything about our stay was top notch!” May 13, 2009 by
William from San Diego,CA
“Very nice hotel, great pools and location.” May 8, 2009 by
Sandy from San Diego,CA “When we arrived the front desk staff was very friendly and helped recommend restaurants in the area. We were also shown a map of the hotel and told where we could park. There was only one elevator in that building and having parked where we were instructed, we had to trek down multiple hallways to first get to the elevator and then go all the way back to the other end to our room. Overall, the hotel was okay and the staff was nice, it seemed like all of their issues stemmed from a lack of thoroughness and not enough staff.” May 8, 2009 by
Paul from Las Vegas,NV
“Beautiful hotel and very friendly staff.” Apr 19, 2009 by
Esther from Fullerton,CA
“I would never go back to the Riviera again. First of all, the resort is only a resort from the front lobby. The hallways in the buildings are dirty, old, and smelly. Further more, the resort charge is ridiculous. My room's shower leaked and the tub was dirty. When I had called the front desk, they had moved me into a room with a clean shower but had no TV remote, toiletries, coffee cups, and dirty linens. When I had called the front office to let them know that my room had to be made and that all the amenities weren't there, they said, "Oh, okay". No replies of apologies, when to expect the room to be made, etc. So, needless to say, I was upset that I had to pay the ridiculous resort charge. I can't believe they call themselves a 4-star resort! Don't waste your time at the Riviera. I would never go back there again.” Apr 13, 2009 by
Marcus from Pomona,CA
“I was very upset with the customer service. They were not professional and when I had problems concerning the room there was no empathy and I felt like I was being rush off the phone. That really put a dent in my stay. If this did not occur. I will highly recommend this hotel. What makes a beautiful hotel with ugly customer service.” Apr 12, 2009 by
Vicki from Mashpee,MA
“Biggest complaint is that there was a $25 resort fee for the hotel.” Apr 12, 2009 by
Lisa from Pacific Grove,CA
“This was a beautiful hotel. The room was clean, though very nice. The staff was friendly and very close to downtown Palm Springs which was good for visiting Indian Canyon and shopping downtown Palm Springs or the outlets.” Apr 12, 2009 by
Andrew from Vancouver,Canada
“Definitely recommend this hotel for a romantic getaway. The rooms, lobby and pool area were very swanky and cool!” Apr 11, 2009 by
Marcy from New York,NY
“Very nice, beautiful pool, nice room, but under staffed and inexperienced. Lacking the 4 star service.” Apr 10, 2009 by
Matthew from Riverside,CA
“This was my worst experience in several years. I logged roughly 260,000 air miles last year and thus stayed in several hotels and this is by far the worst hotel in any star category I have stayed at. The bags of trash in the hallways that stayed their for over six hours (until I complained) The vomit in the hall way that was still not cleaned up upon our check out. The sink that did not drain. The water being turned off until 9am did cause issues with being able to brush your teeth and even use the toilet. Clearly they could not handle any event. The excuse I received when I placed a call to him personally was that they had a big event the day before and I was coming in at the tail end of it. As though events were something new for this hotel staff. Absolutely stupid. I guess someone should only book this hotel when they are empty. Not sure if the service would be any better then either. The big rub is that this is a supposed 4 star hotel. Maybe in a third world country!” Apr 7, 2009 by
Robert and Carol Kin from Louisville,KY
“Fun, alternative lifestyle friendly, clean, relaxing and yet exciting. Atmosphere-retro look, right out of the sixties-very Las Vegas-ish.” Apr 2, 2009 by
Judie from Lakeside,CA
“This hotel is unique, fun, and very appealing!” Mar 30, 2009 by
Ann from Casa Grande,AZ
“Very attractive room, reasonably clean and comfortable bed.” Mar 29, 2009 by
Mike from Long Beach,CA
“The service and response to problems by this hotel. Response time to fix broken TV and door falling off hinges was more than one and a half hours - and after two calls and a walk to the front desk!” Mar 27, 2009 by
Joe from Chula Vista,CA
“This hotel did not impress, not much attention to detail, the community areas seemed dirty, rooms were clean but again not much attention to details, dust build up in the cracks of the carpet and wall, bathroom mirrors were streaked, no tiolet paper. The complimentry sundries were leaking and the bottles were sticky, the rooms are spread out throughout the property and it was a long haul to our room and Mar 26, 2009 by
Wayne from Pomona,CA
“The room was great, but there was a $25/night resort fee.” Mar 25, 2009 by
Connie from San Francisco,CA “The location is odd because there are a bunch of closed businesses nearby and only one or two restaurants within walking distance.” Mar 24, 2009 by
Lea from Tucson,AZ
“It is a cool reminiscent hotel of the latter movie star days. We had trouble finding a bed by the pool as there isn’t a whole lot of room, but worthwhile once we did!” Mar 24, 2009 by
Jan from Harrison Township,MI
“I was unsure of the overall modern decor, however, I did get used to that and enjoyed it - I did get the era gone by feeling at the resort. I thought the main pool area was absolutely beautiful and the views of the mountains were really great. The room was very nicely appointed however, it would have been nice to have a door wall go to directly outside - beds were awesomely comfortable. One downside was that we were put in the absolutely back of the resort and I feel we could have been put in a room closer to the main pool and buildings.” Mar 17, 2009 by
Jay from Vista,CA
“Small room with trendy 50's-ish decor. Did not appeal to me. Nice, modern fitness equipment. Loved the fire pits by the pool. Resort imposes $25 resort fee a little steep. Air conditioning unit in room turned on and off relentlessly all night.” Mar 11, 2009 by
Alison from Venice,CA
“This hotel is good and bad. On the plus side is the interesting grounds, pool scene, and architecture. Helpful staff. However our first room was so unbelievably lousy. The entrance to the pool was next to it (loud slamming doors) and passed right in front of the ugly window. It looked like a decorated Motel 6 room, actually. New room with a balcony and ended up with pretty much the same room, up a floor with a balcony, and, guess what? A broken window. If we had stayed in this room (if the window hadn't been broken) we would still have been disappointed. We were moved this time to quite a nice 2 roomed suite with a lovely bathroom, so it's hard to be too critical. This third room (we received an hour after we arrived) was quality, then, upon checking out we were charged $25/ day resort fee! All in all, I wanted to like this place - good food (a tad overpriced), fun grounds/scene, helpful, friendly staff. I can't truly feel positive or recommend this hotel.” Mar 11, 2009 by
Frank from San Diego,CA
“The hotel is nicely laid out. Alot of bling in the lobby and rooms. Many mirrors, crystal and glitz.” Mar 8, 2009 by
Ruth from Gladstone,OR
“It extra fees were not clear to me until we checked out. We still received a great value, but would have appreciated knowing about the valet parking and resort fees upfront. Overall, it was a good experience.” Feb 25, 2009 by
Rick from Garden Grove,CA
“The staff were freindly, cooperative, always looking out for guests needs. The property was very relaxing, comfort was excellent. All around great time. The pool was primo and heated. Overall all the comforts of home without being at home.” Jan 26, 2009 by
from Houston,TX
“I was not told about the resort fee of $19 per day as well as parking fee of $16 a day.” Jan 22, 2009 by
Mona Lisa from Hemet,CA
“We will visit again.” Jan 20, 2009 by
Armando from Monrovia,CA
“Hotel is conveniently located, short drive to downtown. Decor is very eclectic and sheik. Negative part of this hotel is that they do not offer self parking (valet 19.00) and they automatically charge 19.00 resort fee. They do not tell you about the fee until checkout.” Dec 31, 2008 by
Jeff from San Marcos,CA
“The Riviera Resort has lots of nostalgia with a hip attitude. The facility reopened in Oct. 2008 after extensive renovations. The place is beautiful but not well suited for families with young kids. A great get-away destination.” Dec 8, 2008 by
Heather from Los Altos,CA
“Property just opened so still has a few wrinkles to iron out. Beautiful decor. Staff was Dec 3, 2008 by
Henrik from Corona Del Mar,CA
“Again, very fancy hotel with newly renovated rooms and facilities. Nice pool and we had a great breakfast in the morning. Very chic. When we checked out and let the receptionist know about the a\c and hot water issues, she responed poor you, which doesn't really help.” Nov 19, 2008 by
Holly from Covina,CA
“The atmosphere was very upscale but relaxing. The pool area was fantastic. Fire pits added to the ambiance. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel and grounds were immaculate. Overall, very nice stay and would definitely recommend it.” Oct 21, 2008 by

“Parking is $12. Only valet is available.” Jun 1, 2006 by
Valerie from San Diego, CA
“Recommend a continental type breakfast. Overall this is a pretty good hotel.” May 17, 2006 by
Justin from Anaheim, CA
“Great staff!.” May 11, 2006 by
Monalisa from National City, CA
“I did not like this hotel. I know they are closing down late this month, but I didn't know that until after I already had the room. I called to ask if they were going to be fully staffed and they said yes, but for being a busy season, the staff looked low. Nobody by the pool area except 2 people, during the day we were told to move to the other side of the pool because of some event, the golf course was not taken care of very well, and the exercise room was with no air conditioning, and with temps of 90 outdoors it felt like over 100 degrees indoors. I was disappointed by my stay at this hotel. It did not feel like I stayed at a resort, felt like an over sized Holiday Inn.” May 9, 2006 by
Joyce from Valencia, CA
“It is closing and should.” Apr 27, 2006 by
Richard from Manhattan Beach, CA
“This is not quality hotel. As stated above the bathroom was not clean to begin with and was not cleaned during our stay. The rooms are noisy from the corridor and the nearby road.” Apr 26, 2006 by
Gary from Chula Vista, CA
“This is the second time that I've been to this hotel, and I've enjoyed my stay on both occasions. My room was spacious and the area surrounding it was quiet. There is a big pool area and the poolside barbecue was a nice touch. The service was very good.” Apr 26, 2006 by
Francie from La Canada, CA
“Your pricing doesn't include an option for additional guests, like my children. When I called the hotel directly they pounced on the opportunity to basically negate any savings that I had gotten from your site. I had already paid you and so I was locked in and they knew it. I think the whole thing was a bit of a come on. ” Apr 24, 2006 by
Charles from Chula Vista, CA
“The price I paid was $10 higher than the price they hotel offered directly.” Apr 24, 2006 by
Julie from Grosse Pointe Woods, MI
“Location very close to downtown Palm Springs. Other hotels around this one are not as nice. Hotel is clean. Restaurant is very good. They have an onsite Starbucks! Pool and spas kept up well. My building was farthest from the main building. I prefer to be close to the lobby especially when traveling with children. I would definitely try to stay there again. Price was great on for quality. Highly recommended.” Apr 19, 2006 by
Michael from Encinitas, CA
“Very small, mole in shower. I spent $105 plus service fees that really was worse than a $65 Best Western.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Mar 30, 2006 by

“I had to pay an extra $8 as a property-use fee. ”
