  • Great decor and atmosphere
  • Lightbulbs were out in the room, frig did not work, a/c sounded like a plane landing.

  • Staff seemed very relaxed and friendly, but also unintrusive
  • Liked it all.

“This place is dreamy. You will drop some cash in the restaurant/bars. If you get a Priceline room here, it's top-notch for the money and the pools are beautiful. The location is still a short drive to the strip area of Palm Springs, but you still have to get in a car or cab it. Had a great stay here.”

  • Very cool with a palm springs retro feel..
  • Not only were the drinks pool side expensive $13. they weren't very good.. bad mojitos.

“Definitley recommend the hotel .. close almost walking distant to main strip of shops and spa casino..great pool (not good and expensive drinks $13.)but rooms are very well done.. sinks both times

  • I love the overall atmosphere, upscale and fun.
  • Pool chairs go fast and they can be hard to get. Pool staff could have been more attentive.

“I loved the hotel and can¿t wait to go back with someone special, but as well as with the girls for a spa weekend. The guests were very nice and overall the experience was great. Would recommend securing a spot at the main pool as soon as possible as the chairs go fast!”

  • Old school retro, but new and modern.
    Amazing time.
  • The first room they gave us did not meet our expectations, but they changed our room.

“I visited the Riviera on a girlfriends getaway trip. We loved this hotel. The pool area was amazing and that was where we spent the majority of our time. We even ordered pizza in and watched movies to enjoy our room. The bed was very comfortable and the pull out sofa was nice to have. Loved the bathtub and shower. Everything about our stay was top notch!”

“When we arrived the front desk staff was very friendly and helped recommend restaurants in the area. We were also shown a map of the hotel and told where we could park. There was only one elevator in that building and having parked where we were instructed, we had to trek down multiple hallways to first get to the elevator and then go all the way back to the other end to our room. Overall, the hotel was okay and the staff was nice, it seemed like all of their issues stemmed from a lack of thoroughness and not enough staff.”

  • $25 resort charge, poor customer service, and dirty facility.

“I would never go back to the Riviera again. First of all, the resort is only a resort from the front lobby. The hallways in the buildings are dirty, old, and smelly. Further more, the resort charge is ridiculous. My room's shower leaked and the tub was dirty. When I had called the front desk, they had moved me into a room with a clean shower but had no TV remote, toiletries, coffee cups, and dirty linens. When I had called the front office to let them know that my room had to be made and that all the amenities weren't there, they said, "Oh, okay". No replies of apologies, when to expect the room to be made, etc. So, needless to say, I was upset that I had to pay the ridiculous resort charge. I can't believe they call themselves a 4-star resort! Don't waste your time at the Riviera. I would never go back there again.”

“I was very upset with the customer service. They were not professional and when I had problems concerning the room there was no empathy and I felt like I was being rush off the phone. That really put a dent in my stay. If this did not occur. I will highly recommend this hotel. What makes a beautiful hotel with ugly customer service.”

  • The decor.

“This was a beautiful hotel. The room was clean, though very nice. The staff was friendly and very close to downtown Palm Springs which was good for visiting Indian Canyon and shopping downtown Palm Springs or the outlets.”

  • Dirty, plumbing issues, slow staff, worst experience in several years.

“This was my worst experience in several years. I logged roughly 260,000 air miles last year and thus stayed in several hotels and this is by far the worst hotel in any star category I have stayed at. The bags of trash in the hallways that stayed their for over six hours (until I complained) The vomit in the hall way that was still not cleaned up upon our check out. The sink that did not drain. The water being turned off until 9am did cause issues with being able to brush your teeth and even use the toilet. Clearly they could not handle any event. The excuse I received when I placed a call to him personally was that they had a big event the day before and I was coming in at the tail end of it. As though events were something new for this hotel staff. Absolutely stupid. I guess someone should only book this hotel when they are empty. Not sure if the service would be any better then either. The big rub is that this is a supposed 4 star hotel. Maybe in a third world country!”

    great street appeal.
  • Had an old feel, felt dirty, not much attention to detail and
    staff not helpful.

“This hotel did not impress, not much attention to detail, the community areas seemed dirty, rooms were clean but again not much attention to details, dust build up in the cracks of the carpet and wall, bathroom mirrors were streaked, no tiolet paper. The complimentry sundries were leaking and the bottles were sticky, the rooms are spread out throughout the property and it was a long haul to our room and
we were not offered help to the room and we struggled getting our luggage to the room because of the numerous doors to open, rolling luggage had to go down stairs to get to the main floor to our room. Service was not impressive. Was a cool hotel but again falls short of quality and service.”

  • A lot of rooms had a view of a car park, which in our case was noisy when we went on to the balcony.

  • Doors on bathroom in room - had to get used to modern furniture in front area of resort.

“I was unsure of the overall modern decor, however, I did get used to that and enjoyed it - I did get the era gone by feeling at the resort. I thought the main pool area was absolutely beautiful and the views of the mountains were really great. The room was very nicely appointed however, it would have been nice to have a door wall go to directly outside - beds were awesomely comfortable. One downside was that we were put in the absolutely back of the resort and I feel we could have been put in a room closer to the main pool and buildings.”

“This hotel is good and bad. On the plus side is the interesting grounds, pool scene, and architecture. Helpful staff. However our first room was so unbelievably lousy. The entrance to the pool was next to it (loud slamming doors) and passed right in front of the ugly window. It looked like a decorated Motel 6 room, actually. New room with a balcony and ended up with pretty much the same room, up a floor with a balcony, and, guess what? A broken window. If we had stayed in this room (if the window hadn't been broken) we would still have been disappointed. We were moved this time to quite a nice 2 roomed suite with a lovely bathroom, so it's hard to be too critical. This third room (we received an hour after we arrived) was quality, then, upon checking out we were charged $25/ day resort fee! All in all, I wanted to like this place - good food (a tad overpriced), fun grounds/scene, helpful, friendly staff. I can't truly feel positive or recommend this hotel.”

“The staff were freindly, cooperative, always looking out for guests needs. The property was very relaxing, comfort was excellent. All around great time. The pool was primo and heated. Overall all the comforts of home without being at home.”

  • Hotel has great decor, fun atmosphere, very electric.
  • Valet parking 16.00. Resort fee 19.00.

“Hotel is conveniently located, short drive to downtown. Decor is very eclectic and sheik. Negative part of this hotel is that they do not offer self parking (valet 19.00) and they automatically charge 19.00 resort fee. They do not tell you about the fee until checkout.”

“The Riviera Resort has lots of nostalgia with a hip attitude. The facility reopened in Oct. 2008 after extensive renovations. The place is beautiful but not well suited for families with young kids. A great get-away destination.”

“Again, very fancy hotel with newly renovated rooms and facilities. Nice pool and we had a great breakfast in the morning. Very chic. When we checked out and let the receptionist know about the a\c and hot water issues, she responed poor you, which doesn't really help.”

  • I liked that they had a cafe that served starbucks coffee.
  • I did not like that they were not fully staffed. The exercise room was at least 100 degrees and I couldn't work out. No staff by pool serving drinks.

“I did not like this hotel. I know they are closing down late this month, but I didn't know that until after I already had the room. I called to ask if they were going to be fully staffed and they said yes, but for being a busy season, the staff looked low. Nobody by the pool area except 2 people, during the day we were told to move to the other side of the pool because of some event, the golf course was not taken care of very well, and the exercise room was with no air conditioning, and with temps of 90 outdoors it felt like over 100 degrees indoors. I was disappointed by my stay at this hotel. It did not feel like I stayed at a resort, felt like an over sized Holiday Inn.”

  • Bathroom was not cleaned during our stay. Room Service was canceled without our knowledge.

  • I liked the pool, the king-sized bed and friendly atmosphere.
  • There are not enough spaces for parking.

“This is the second time that I've been to this hotel, and I've enjoyed my stay on both occasions. My room was spacious and the area surrounding it was quiet. There is a big pool area and the poolside barbecue was a nice touch. The service was very good.”

  • Age, decor, no extra pillows, got stuck with extra charge and smoky smelling room.

“Your pricing doesn't include an option for additional guests, like my children. When I called the hotel directly they pounced on the opportunity to basically negate any savings that I had gotten from your site. I had already paid you and so I was locked in and they knew it. I think the whole thing was a bit of a come on. ”

  • Large resort, large pool, spa, tennis courts and clean.
  • The decor is rather dark. Area around hotel not my favorite.

“Location very close to downtown Palm Springs. Other hotels around this one are not as nice. Hotel is clean. Restaurant is very good. They have an onsite Starbucks! Pool and spas kept up well. My building was farthest from the main building. I prefer to be close to the lobby especially when traveling with children. I would definitely try to stay there again. Price was great on for quality. Highly recommended.”
