• Nice rooms, kids love the place.
• Water temperature for the shower was fluctuating form hot to cold.

• Everything was what we expected, which was great.
• We had the room next to the stairs, a girl soccer team was in, running up and down until 11:00 pm.

“We liked the hotel. It was very clean, neat, very friendly and accommodating staff. We had gotten very sick while there and they helped a lot. The room was very nice even though it was near the stairs.”

• I liked the interior design and layout of the room. The hotel location was close to lots of restaurants and stores, lots of good shopping places.
• Unfortunately the hallways are being renovated, so the area is very dusty and unattractive, didn't know prior to booking.

“The hotel was nice for a quick get away. The town is quiet. There are not a lot of hotels to choose from in the immediate area, but this was fine for a one day stay.”

“Hotel appearance was great. Room itself looked nice. Elevator was a little old and seemed ready to fall apart. Room seemed a little musky. We bought some room deodorizer at the 99cent store.”

• Location, comfort of room.

• In good part of town, next to shops for easy food access.
• We had a dirty towel in our room. A lot of hair in the towel.

“Overall it was a good hotel. When my sister wiped her face with a towel and looked at it to see a bunch of hair stuck in the towel we were kind of turned off. The manager was not in at the time, so they could (or would) not do anything to help other than a "we're sorry". Other than the dirty towel, the hotel was nice, and met our needs.”

• I liked the huge bed and couch.
• I couldn't get the water temperature in the shower to remain and the pillows smelled musty.

“Other than the water temp in the shower, the musty-smelly pillows, I actually liked the hotel. The continental breakfast was kind of weak though.”

• Nice staff.
• Rooms were safe for young children; outlets hanging out of walls.

“I was stuck on a floor and a room that allows smoking - which I do not. I have a child that was forced to breathe the dirty air. The room did not meet general safety standards. Outlet/socket in rooms hanging out of the wall. Screens were not on the track- 3rd floor- my child could have hurt himself.”

• Housekeeping staff and Breakfast staff was excellent
• Did not have enough handicapped parking & 3rd floor was extremely hot.

“Excellent service, friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, delicious breakfast, pool area was nice and clean and never overcrowded. Room was cleaned daily, extra towels were always given immediately, no waiting for any requested services!”

“My room was very nice but the tv remote didn't work. They didn't have a remote for the tv so they moved us to their best room. Cool right? The bed in their best room was shaped like a bowl and there was no way you could sleep in it. We ended up settling for a room I could have got a Motel 6 for half the price. The staff was nice though.”

• Hair in bathroom, iron old & ruined my clothes.

“Staff & location are good, they need to update the room, bathroom is old and dirty looking, iron is old and burned my clothing & the outlet I used for my lap top almost caught fire it was so hot after only 1/2 hour of use.”

“Room 124 had water leaking from light fixture the night of Saturday, the 19th of May. Alex, the manager said to get in touch with you regarding a refund for that nights stay. Other than that the stay was fine.”

• I picked this hotel because it had a fitness center. It was not available when I was there because it was under construction.

• Alex the manager is a great guy, very accommodating.
• This hotel needs updating. It is old and worn.

“We have e been staying there I the month of October for four years. We are vendors at the Pumpkin Patch in Valley Center. The hotel is in need of update as it is old and worn but the manager, Alex, bends over backwards and remembers our name. We stay there because of him.”

• Hotel needs some upgrades. Temperature control for the shower was very poor.

“The staff at this hotel were very pleasant and accommodating. The facility itself looked as if it needed some maintenance. The shower's temperature control was very poor and the bathroom fan didn't do anything.”

• Maid service, temperature in hallways and breakfast room, condition of bathroom and temperature of shower water, price of movies.

“Good location, helpful staff. Never could take advantage of the Continental Breakfast, the room was too hot and you could not leave with your breakfast. Hallways and elevator were also very warm. The elevator needs remodeling (very small and run down). Maid service hung linens with lipstick on it and failed to replenish the soap and the coffee. Bathroom needs remodeling. Water temperature in shower was uncomfortable - one minute very hot, next minute very cold, without touching temperature dial. I would have liked to watch a movie, but not for $10.00 for one person. I expected more for my money. Especially with "holiday weekend" prices. I would not stay there again, even though the location was great.”

• Easy walking distance to family style dining, very friendly staff.
• Inside of building in disrepair.

“"It's a bed, a roof, a free breakfast, and a friendly staff." That's what I read others say about this hotel, and I agree. I like that it's located rather close to the San Diego Zoo Wild Animal Park and is located walking distance from family style restaurant and shopping (Target, etc.) The neighborhood felt very safe. However, the building need some improvements. The wallpaper was peeling in some place, the bathtub wouldn't hold water and the sink wouldn't drain! The TV reception was unacceptable, and there was no tissues in the tissue dispenser. The free breakfast was wonderful (fruit, cereal, bagels, coffee, juice, and milk) and the night staff and housekeeping staff were particularly friendly.”

• Great location. Very friendly, helpful desk clerks.
• Very worn carpet in the room. Not super clean.

“I guess the benefit of 2* as compared to 1* is not really in niceties, so much as in the location of the hotel. This was located in a good area, near lots of stores and restaurants, and right off the freeway. With a 1* hotel, I may have had to worry about it being in a bad section of town more than a 2*. The actual hotel quality seems the same to me.”

• The location is the only thing I liked about this hotel.
• The staff was rude, and the room smelled bad.

“This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. First it took 40 minutes to check in, because they said I had not paid yet. The room smelled like an old house and the bathroom smelled like urine. There was also a weird stain on the sheets. Between the loud noises and rock they called a bed I didn't sleep at all and of course telling all of my friends about my experience.”

• Room smelled a little smoky (non smoking room).

“Friendly staff, central location, great price. The new air conditioning system was nice! We also liked the free breakfast. Room was a non-smoking, but smelled a little smoky. Despite this, we will still stay here again!”
