• Wonderful customer service.
• Bed was slightly uncomfortable for me.

“I was amazed at the level of service that we received from the hotel. We stayed there for 7 nights and each day took our kids out and about. Since we weren't familiar with the area, the hotel was extremely helpful in providing us directions, ticket price information and even recommended places to eat etc. When we needed extra towels or extra blankets we received them within just a few minutes of asking. The pool was stocked with toys for the kids to play with. We loved it.”

• It was close to the college where we needed to drive to every day.
• They gave us the smallest, least desirable room, and charged $17 a day for valet parking.

“Just a short drive from top san Diego attractions, this hotel is lovely: clean, bright rooms; friendly staff; quality restaurant. The pool is big and features inflated toys for kids and a $1 kids' breakfast buffet on the weekends. My 3-year-old daughter loved it all, and my husband and I enjoyed our stay.”

• We really enjoyed the pool and the surrounding area.

“My family all really enjoyed staying at the Marriott in Mission Valley. We had some family who were staying at the Hilton just up the road in Mission Valley and they spent all of their "awake" time with us at our hotel. This hotel has a lot of family touches that really helped us as out as we were traveling with 5 small children. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would stay there again anytime!”

• The staff was delightful. 10 stars!
• 1/10th of my view was beautiful; 9/10ths was parking lot and storage. Felt like leftovers.

“Very family friendly, yet at the same time it was relaxing and beautiful. Family pool on the golf course, lap pool up at the fitness center. Short walk to town (for people like myself who like to go for walks.) And the hotel staff was so pleasant.”

“For a Marriott hotel I was disappointed with the size of our room. We had stayed in another hotel the night before and the room was huge and we paid less for it. I was quite frustrated with having to pay for parking and to get internet service it would have cost us $9.95 a day.”

• The service was impeccable and very convenient to San Diego attractions. The trolley is right outside the hotel doors!
• The counter space in the bathroom is very limited.

“The service was excellent. The hotel was decorated nicely. The only thing that we had difficulty in was getting a refrigerator for our room. They were all gone when we checked in. They said that we were on the top of the list when one would be returned, but we never received one. Oh well, I guess it's a popular item to have in your hotel room! Also, the counter space in the bathroom is very limited, but that would be the only complaint I had! We have stayed here a few times and have loved it for its convenience to local attractions and public transit (the San Diego trolley is right outside the hotel!) We never ate in the restaurant.”

• The hotel was very nice, staff was excellent, room was even better.
• Fees for everything! $14 just to park, even though we had a room and $10 for internet access per day!

“The hotel was top dollar. The staff was excellent, able to meet every need we had effortlessly. The lounge was a great place to unwind. The disadvantages though were that hotel guests have to pay $14 per day for parking - that should always be included in the room fee - and internet access was an amazing $10 per day which would absolutely discourage me if I was needing to do business at the hotel.”

• There was NO in-room refrigerator and my sister had medication to keep cold. It was very inconvenient.

“Hotel is clean, staff is helpful and friendly. Rooms are okay - but the beds/pillows are great and the shower was good. Very few amenities in the room, but it were clean and had the basics - except an in-room refrigerator! There was a balcony, but no chairs so you could sit outside.”

“1. The first night we were there I went to the front desk to get a plastic bag for ice. There was only one clerk on duty, seven people in line and an apparently difficult transaction occurring. After waiting 10 minutes with no forward motion, I gave up.2. The parking facilities were inadequate. The proportion of Handicap spots were insufficient, the parking spots were narrow. The contracting agency, Ace Parking, left a "Violation" notice on our vehicle, but not others for parking over the painted lines. Additionally, the parking attendant went off duty and the lot was marked "Full" even though cars were leaving. We had to park off-site. 3. The hotel refunded our parking fee for the second night stay. That was good.”

• Great location, restaurants and grocery close by, easy freeway access.
• $ 13.00 a day parking fee.

“The hotel was well furnished, clean and easy to locate. It was located close to good restaurants and shopping. Trolley was conveniently located behind the hotel. Did not have to drive to major destinations and fight traffic. Did not like the $13 a day parking fee. If you are a guest of the hotel they should waive the fee. Otherwise, it is a great hotel for family or business.”

• Had to pay $13 for parking my only car. Parking should be figured in hotel price, what next blanket charge?

“Close to Sea World. Very quiet room, good noise insulation. The TV was a pay for view only (poor). Parking of only car was $13 (poor). Thermostat reset temperature to 78 degrees several times (poor). Desk personnel very helpful. Free newspapers. Nice pool and spa. Shower had good pressure and lots of hot water. Room was very clean with no smell masking deodorants. No breakfast. For total bill was: $85 (room), $13 (parking), $14(bed tax) total $107. ”

• The food in the hotel dining room was very good at a reasonable price.
• The room was smaller than what I expected. It was hard to move around in room with bags and clothes.

• The pool was large and beautiful, the meeting areas (although not utilized) were also nice.
• The room remained humid for some time and the bathroom was not as clean as I would expect.

“Overall a nice stay. Better for families or business, not a romantic style hotel. Color scheme/decor seems older. The toiletries were Bath and Body Works, nice. Our bathroom could have been cleaner, especially the floor.”

“As soon as we walked in we were greeted by courteous professional staff. There was no long lines. The atmosphere was elegant and family friendly. Our rooms were very clean and the beds were so, so comfortable. The breakfast buffet was delicious.”

• The rooms were very nice and the valet/bell service personnel were very professional.
• The front desk personnel were very friendly but did not seem to know what came with the stay. Not happy with having to pay for Internet services.

“The hotel is very nice looking and well kept. The front desk staff seemed to be confused about what came with the stay. We were told by one person that a breakfast was included with our stay and then told after we were seated that it was not. When I left the hotel I was not sure it was adjusted totally. With this said, I would not hesitate to stay there again because I thought the hotel was a very nice stay. The confusion with the front desk is a very minor issue.”

• The water pressure in the showers was pretty poor.

“Overall, this hotel provided an excellent home away from home for us. My only complaint is the shower water pressure was lacking, which was a bit of a problem when we tried to bathe our 16-month old. But the staff were SO friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, the bathroom quite large, and the bed was very comfortable.”

“Compared to a previous Marriott I stayed in at Sacramento, this was superior and exceeded my expectations. The lobby was inviting and elegant and the room comfortable and clean, with wonderful beds. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub facility outdoors that was near a large, pleasing fountain.”

• It was beautifully landscaped, clean, helpful staff. Smelled like gardenias.
• It was hard to find, directions difficult. There was construction going on and we had to go out of our way to get from the parking area.

“Nice staff, couldn't figure out how to call the desk for wakeup. Nice hotel, clean, nice toiletries. There was construction near the parking area and you really could not go through the main area but had to walk around a big area to get to the front of the hotel.”

• Housekeeping didn't come the first day, had to prompt them. They said they forgot to deliver a paper. Just little things like that.

“We were in San Diego for a wedding. We loved the location, the view and breeze from the ninth floor, the pool, the decor. The hotel staff helped us in many ways and were friendly, courteous. Also a plus to be near Fashion Valley and close to the beach. Food not great (breakfast & dinner) but the bar is warm, inviting and relaxing. Definitely recommend.”

• It was clean and easy to get to, very friendly staff.
• Don't forget to request a non-smoking room, I did and, unfortunately, got a "smoking" room. We switched to another room the next night, thankfully.

“Great place to stay! It is near hotel circle, thus conveniently located. However, it is easier to get to and quieter (no freeway noise!) Friendly and accomodating staff.”

• The hotel was just off the freeway making it easy to find. The hotel was also very clean.

“They let us check in early without any question.The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with any question we had. There were so manyactivities nearby and everything was easily acessible. At the same time, it was a very quiet area and we felt very secure.”

• Nice lobby. rooms and amenities.
• Pool area was supervised, lots of kids in sauna and jacuzzi, drunk guests partying with bottle everywhere.

“Nice Hotel, but why should I have to pay $12 to park and $10 for internet service when much cheaper hotel chains have similar quality rooms and free parking, wireless internet, even breakfast?”

• Friendly front desk person let us know that on street parking would save us the $13 parking fee.
• It's fine to charge for valet parking, but self parking should be free for guests.
