• The grounds were very attractive.
• Parking was incredibly difficult, location was farther away than most hotels.

“It was a nice hotel, the grounds were very beautiful, the rooms good but nothing extraordinary, the lobby and restaurant were, like the rooms, good but nothing extra special. The grounds were 3 1/2 stars, the rest of the hotel 3 at best. On the negative side, self parking is almost impossible if you have a large car. We asked if they could accommodate us by letting us park in the nearly empty valet lot and they refused. It was also very isolated and farther away than the rest of the hotels in Mission Valley.”

• Centrally located, beautiful pool & public spaces, very nice rooms.

“Very nice centrally located, convenient to shops, restaurants and the freeway. Central courtyard has a nice pool and jacuzzi, for a moment you might think you're in Hawaii. Staff was very nice, and the room was nice and very comfortable, we had no issues at the hotel.”

• Great location, nice hotel, I've stayed here before.
• Nothing.

“This is a great hotel. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The bed is easy to fall asleep in. I don't like paying for parking. I valet park for a few dollars more and I tip the valet. ( at least I get to see where my money goes).”

• Location was great.
• The room I stayed in, the sliding glass door didn't lock. Very noisy, kids running up & down the hallway.

“Location was great. Overall, this was a nice hotel. Concierge was very nice & check in was a breeze. Although, when I called the hotel to get directions, the girl I talked to was not very helpful at all, she didn't know what a cross street was. I would stay at this hotel again.”

• It was clean, elegant and quiet. Also it was in a great location.
• Nothing.

“The Marriott in Mission Valley is a great hotel. Although I only stayed there one night, after a very full and busy day, it was a very pleasant experience to come to a room that was clean, well decorated and loaded with things of comfort. The bed was like a dream to sleep in. I give this hotel 2 thumbs-up and 5 stars.”

• Shower flooded the bathroom floor. We were moved to another room with comps.
• $14.00 per night for parking; there for it was more costly than we anticipated.

“Nice and clean. Beautiful courtyard with swimming pool, spa and sauna. Everyone was very welcoming and courteous. Showers are water conservative - not much water. It was the handicapped bathroom that the drain did not work and overflowed the bathroom. The hotel changed our room.”

• Nice hotel and affordable.

“The hotel had many families as guests as well as couples. The room was internet ready in case you are traveling for business. Pool was beautiful with a nice waterfall, gym was 24 hrs and had fruit and water available.”

• I loved the pool area, but the rooms were very poor.
• The bathrooms, and the room.

“I liked the lobby, and the staff. They were nice. But the room was very poor. The view was great, but the bathroom was just bleach. Days Inn has better bathrooms. The pool area with cabanas and the whirlpool is great though.”

• That not only they had a Gideons Bible, but they had a Book of Mormon.

“From the moment I first arrived I was treated with courtesy. Every one was friendly and professional. There were no huge waiting lines to check in. Valet service was wonderful. They had my car there when I needed it. I would recommend this hotel and also hope to stay there again.”

“The Marriott was a great place for my family to stay. We were on a family vacation to the San Diego area and this hotel was perfectly located for all of our activities. The staff was fantastic and very helpful with those where to find food questions. The Marriott was a wonderful asset to our trip and we will stay there again.”

• Great location in Mission Valley. Many restaurants nearby.
• Parking is expensive considering the hotel is not in a Downtown or tourist area. Parking places were not big enough for my average size family car.

• When ordering drinks etc at the pool takes 30+ min.

“Upon checking in the hotel lobby was clean and bright. The staff was friendly. I requested via phone in advance a room with two beds. I found my room only had one and no roll always available. They moved me to another room with a bed and a couch. This is not what I expected, but worked. I found the restroom was plugged by a prior guest, this took about 45 min to resolve. Parking was $22.00 per day and after paying, I found that most other tenants never paid and parked in my assigned spot, hotel staff never resolved this. The restaurants were not busy but very slow to serve guests. The food was ok. I would stay here again, but this hotel does not deserve the 3 star rating due to the staff. The facility is awesome.”

“The hotel was great. My family loved the pool and the relaxing environment. The staff was very friendly and willing to answer questions. The location was excellent with easy access to most of San Diego's activities. We would definitely stay there again.”

• Great location, bedding was first rate.
• Charging for daily parking, charging for internet access, and would like to see better television access (audio-video).

“Nice comfortable place to stay. The bedding was first rate very comfy, has a true luxury feel to it. But I would have expected a few more extras for the cost of this type of room, such as free parking in the hotel lot, free internet access, and a larger bathroom/dressing area. Overall, the hotel was in an excellent area, close to any number of area attractions. Most tourist attractions were no more than 20 minutes from the hotel and was also close to a number of shopping areas.”

• Very close to trolley to move into downtown.
• Pool closes at 11 PM.

“This was a great stay for the two of us and easy to get too. Shops and restaurants are across the street. The trolley is just behind the parking lot and easy to get anywhere in San Diego.”

“My purse had been stolen at the restaurant hotel and spent hours to contact credit card and bank institutions to cancel my accounts while my family had to wait doing nothing and lost our time to sea world. My husband had to insist on calling security. It was not suggested by workers at hotel rest. It was a bad experience and was not comforted by hotel. I felt invaded by the whole experience.”

• The pool and the complimentary lemonade.
• The excessive hair found on the bed and in the bath tub that was not of my husbands or my children. The covers on the bed also appeared spotted.

“I would not stay at his hotel. The room service and other extras were overpriced. For a three star hotel it was disappointing. Next time I'll stay at the Comfort Inn, which has never been disappointing.”

“The hotel itself was beautiful, but the rooms are not very functional. There is no bathroom counter space and the biggest problem was not being able to get onto their internet service with our own laptop. They charged $10 per day for internet service, but then still was not able to get on and had to use the one computer that they had in the gift shop. The woman in the gift shop was quite unfriendly and told me that I had to pay for the service if I was on the computer for more than 5 minutes even though there was no one waiting. It was extremely frustrating since most of my business is handled on the internet.”

“Great location, beautiful hotel. But what is with the paid parking everywhere you go in California? Not cool. Met up with a horribly grouchy employee at check in that followed us around the parking lot telling us that we couldn't park there. We should have asked for luggage help and we don't have to tip. Also, the hotel only had 1 computer with internet available and they charged 50 a minute. They get you any way they can.”
