• The parking was expensive and horrendous. Refrigerator was out of order.

“I brought food for the refrigerator, but it was out of order. The parking was $28 per night!, so the room was not a bargain at all. TV's were small. Heating system was noisy. Rooms were dated.”

• Great location and helpful/friendly staff.

“The first impression is quite unique, since one must take an elevator from the ground floor arrival area up to the twelfth floor lobby to check in. everything went smoothly with check-in, even though my flight from the east coast had me there before noon. The staff remained uniformly friendly, answering all my questions and allowing a late check-out. My room had a wide-open feel to it, and great views from the sixteenth floor windows. I made use of workout area, including the hot tub”

• The suite style rooms.
• The lobby decoration was ugly and the expensive, inconvenient parking.

“Nice large room, suite style, with a small separate living room. Comfortable, welcoming, and relaxing. In walking distance to the Gas lamp District. The expensive $22 per day self park (valet is $28), the narrow winding tunnel up the structure, you can only park on the 11th floor.”

• The view was fantastic.
• The parking was a bit more than I like to pay.

“I was there for a romantic weekend with my boyfriend, and the hotel was fantastic. We had no issues with anything. The room was clean, with a great view of downtown. The staff was very helpful. The only problem we had was with the parking, it wasn't recognizing our hotel key, but that wasn't due to the hotel.”

• The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Great customer service!
• The parking garage is awful. The corkscrew ride up to undersized spaces with tight turning radius's.

“The hotel is clean and the staff provides excellent service. The location is fairly convenient to downtown and the activities there. Even though our room was right by the ice machine and the elevator, we didn't hear much noise. We had forgotten personal care items and they provided them with a smile. They served champagne and fresh baked cookies at check in and mimosa on Sunday morning. The staff was the best thing about the hotel!”

• Great Location, Friendly Staff
• Parking Garage difficult to enter / exit. Parking costs too high

“Very friendly, helpful staff. Met all of our expectations. The rooms were great! The only thing I did not like was the parking. You have to navigate up a sprial that is six stories high to get to the levels you park on. Because it is difficult to navigate, they should not charge you $22.00 a night to park. Additionally, we did not leave the hotel as often because of the difficult parking.”

• You have to pay to park your car on the night you stay there! It was $22.00!

• Gaslamp is around the corner.
• Parking cost $22 a night and is on the 11th floor which is real tight.

“The hotel was real nice. They have a lounge that had real good happy hour deals. Great hotel for business travelers. Pretty decent size suites. There is a living room area than u have the bedroom and bathroom. Only problem was parking is $22 a night.”

• Difficulty manuvering in parking garage. Poorly stocked bar-ordered 3 different drinks and didn't have because missing ingredients.

• The room was laid out well and the bed was very comfortable.
• I felt nickeled and dimmed for every service (high prices plus service charges).

“Overall, this is a very nice hotel for business travelers. The suites are comfortable and well lay out and everything was pretty clean. The hotel has recently been remodeled, and it is up-to-date, but there were a few things that were falling apart (e.g., the marble sill on my door was cracked and taped, as were several others, and my mini-bar was out of service). Still, it's pretty nice despite the high service charges for basics like internet usage. The food was pretty terrible (had in room service and ate at bar) but the bartender was very nice.”

• The suites were great and it was a cheap cab to anything downtown.
• The printer did not work as fast as hoped in the free business center.

“The hotel was great. The beds were large, clean and comfortable. It was nice to have a great view and the suit setup would have worked out great if we wanted someone to stay on the pullout and there was more than just me and my girlfriend. You are minutes from the Gaslamp or the piers/touristy stuff/seafood. I loved this hotel.”

• Every room in the hotel is a suite with a separate bedroom, living room, and full bath.
• Parking is expensive ($22) and the hotel's garage is difficult to navigate.

“The suite was well furnished and there were TVs in both the living room (LCD) and bedroom (CRT). The bathroom has a separate shower stall and bathtub. My only gripe with the room was the broken fridge. For some weird unknown reason there was a UPS uniform in the closet! The room had a decent view, but nothing spectacular; and was relatively quiet compared to the Gaslamp and other downtown areas of San Diego. The hotel parking is a bit nerve-wracking since you have to drive up a very long and narrow spiral ramp to reach the first garage level which is on the seventh floor. I was worried that I might scrape my car against the walls of the ramp. Parking is $22/night. The hotel is not quite within walking distance of places like the Gaslamp, Little Italy, or the convention center. The hotel staff was professional, and check-in and check-out was quick and uneventful. Also, there was free self-serve lemonade in the lobby.”

• Decent room, relatively attentive staff.
• The cost of parking at the hotel. We could have stayed another night if we did not bring a car, shower was dirty and needed to be re-tiled.

“In general we were satisfied with the hotel. If you are looking for a snack or meal after 11pm, everything shuts down and no 24/7 restaurants in walking distance. Be ready to get confused by the elevators and horrible parking structure. Parking is nearly as much as the room.”

• Loved the bath and the shower; nice to have Starbucks coffee to wake up to. We loved that we can open the window a crack. The bed was so comfortable.
• The parking garage was a bit of a nightmare.

“The room was very spacious and comfortable. Wish we could have spent a few nights there. The bathroom is the best - seperate shower and tub. It was nice to wake up to some great Starbucks coffee in the room. Highly recommend!”

• The elevators move fast.
• The bed was horribly uncomfortable. The pullout couch/bed was better.

“I would have expected more from a Sheraton Hotel. The shower was rusty, the bed was worn and lumpy, and one of the maids was extremely rude. The entrance to the parking lot was very difficult to maneuver especially with a SUV. Most of the parking spaces were to small or there was not enough room to reverse out of.”

• The room was spacious.
• Parking fee, the room smelled bad, first room was occupied, second room had been smoked in, lobby on 12th floor.

“This hotel is very easy to find, but with only room for perhaps 3 cars at the entrance, entry is inconvenient (you may be forced to parallel park with traffic flowing around you). We drove around the block once looking for a possible alternate route of entry, but I still do not think there is one. Then, take the elevator to the 12th floor to the lobby. Strange, but ok. Initially, check-in went well, but upon entering the room, we discovered, we were not the only guests that would be staying there. The clerk was mildly apologetic, and quickly produced new keys to another room on the same floor. The fumes were overpowering. We called the desk and was informed that this room was indeed a non-smoking room, but to come once again to the desk, and they would rectify the situation. After a third trip to the desk, and then on to our third room, we decided we had better settle on this one. Although it smelled of musk and mildew, it appeared to be clean, and opening the windows freshened it up quite a bit after a short period of time.”
