• The suites them selves, were extremely comfortable and allowed some privacy for the adults as well as the kids.
• $25 parking per day.

• They were fixing their plumbing and we had no water during the day.

“The city shut off the water in the hotel for repairs. It is a nice hotel, next to symphony hall. Rooms are small but it is comfortable.”

• The front desk staff was excellent, friendly, helpful, and welcoming.
• $20 per night for the parking which was not posted anywhere prior to entering the parking garage.

“Excellent service staff. Person at the front desk was especially helpful and convenience of computers and printers in lobby was a great bonus. Little frustrated w/ the cost of parking that was not posted at the entrance.”

• Wonderful location to everything and the staff was phenomenal!
• Parking extra, rooms a bit tight, must walk through lobby for everything (i.e. pool/gym access).

• Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and updated rooms.
• The parking was horrible. The garage was on the 11th floor with very small turns and spaces. Expensive parking!

“Great location! Nice rooms. Clean and quiet. The staff was very helpful and friendly. My only complaint was that the parking was expensive and inconvenient. It was located on the 11th floor. The spaces were small and the turns were smaller. Overall, I would stay there again.”

• Small bathroom did not have 2 sinks or bar sink.

• The room was spacious, somewhat worn and dated, but spacious.
• Parking structure and clientele.

“The hotel is nice, overall. I think some of the amenities could be updated. I will say that our living room window was not dangerous. There was no security stop in place, so I was able to open the window all the way and being on the 23rd floor, that's not safe at all. Driving up and down the parking structure was a task of it's own. The drive up to the parking area was nauseating at times and driving through the different levels was somewhat of maze.”

• Very comfortable atmosphere throughout the hotel.
• The parking, you have to go up 11 floors in spiral narrow driveway - not recommended for amateur drivers.

“A very relaxing getaway from everyday life. Close to Seaport Village, and Old Town San Diego. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Great GYM and its complimentary!”

“My boyfriend and I had such an enjoyable stay! Everyone was friendly; the hotel was clean, and quiet. We loved our room from the French doors in the bedroom to our view! We will stay here again anytime!”

• Great location if you prefer a Downtown Site. Close to many fine restaurants and entertainment venues.
• Lobby on the 12th floor. Split elevators have to change elevators at the lobby level.

“This hotel had many fine attributes, but suffered from some less than stellar attention to details. Received only one room key, when two were requested. No wash cloths in the bathroom. No extra blankets. Self parking, hard to access hotel garage could be hazardous to the health of both you and your vehicle. On the plus side, I very much liked the location at Symphony Hall and close to lots of dining and entertainment venues. Because the first eleven floors are parking, the room was up high with an excellent view. Staff was courteous, if not particularly attentive and sometimes scarce.”

“This hotel is just a hop, skip, and a jump from just about everything. The lobby was just as clean and inviting as the staff. Other than the 20 dollar parking fee each night our only complaint would be the uncomfortable bed we slept in.”

“The rooms were nice, clean, and each had 2 large TV's (which is nice when you have kids). The beds were comfortable, and we had great views of Downtown San Diego. Self parking isn't really an option, but valet was only $5 more than self parking, so that wasn't really an issue. The indoor pool was nice, but the area was a little small and a large family took up most the chairs.”

• Room service meals are very expensive.

“The hotel exceeded our expectations! All the staff was always attentive, pleasant, and helpful. The room was clean and the bed and bedding superb. My kids loved the indoor pool and the idea that they could swim even though it was cold out. The negative reviews regarding the parking situation I found to be greatly exaggerated. I parked my expedition without any problem and parking around the area was much more expensive than at the hotel ($15.00 every 10 hours). The location is prime and attractions all close by. To sum it up, by the 2nd day my kids started saying they wanted to go "home" rather than the "hotel" as they usually do. We all loved the stay and are looking forward to going back next month!”

• $20 for self-parking in a horrible parking garage is insane!

“The parking situation is atrocious! $20 for self-parking in some of the smallest parking spaces I've ever encountered! The only other choices are $25 for valet or parking on the street and feeding parking meters. No free anything at this hotel i.e. Internet access, local phone calls, breakfast, etc. Breakfast buffet was very nice, but way overpriced.”

• Beautiful view, French doors that open up to romantic bedroom that overlooked the city (24th floor)!
• Weird to have to go to the 12th floor to check in & parking was $ but well worth it with the view and kindness of the people there.

“Would definitely stay there again. A definite 4 stars + stay. I had the best room ever! Ask for the 24th floor when arriving for the view. I loved every minute of my stay. The view was picture perfect with full window in office/living room and the bedroom!”

• 2 rooms for family of 4. Excellent service, restful nights, great stay.
• Refrigerator door and cabinet door unable to use together. They also blocked entry door.

• The bathroom facilities are great. Love the shower.
• Room service menu was a little limited.

“Normally the stay here is great but, this visit the phone did not work, the bedroom light did not work, the internet connection did not work at first. All required calls to the front desk and maintenance. Also I requested hot tea for room service breakfast (in writing) and they delivered coffee.”

“Very nice hotel with clean rooms, with a helpful and friendly staff. The big negative of this hotel was that the parking situation is terrible. The spiral driveway to get to the 11th floor parking for guest, the cramped parking stalls are ridiculous and the big surprise that is not told to the customer about is the twenty dollar a day parking fee for your vehicle!”

• The location and view from the hotel were great.
• One of the beds in the room was horribly uncomfortable and the dresser was broken.

“This hotel appeared to be a very clean and upscale location. The hotel is in a great Downtown location very close to the harbor and airport so it's great for travelers. Our room had a beautiful view of the city and had lots of room. I had two major disappointments in my room. My bed had a lopsided mattress that was worn so bad it had a huge dip on the right side of the mattress, the bed's foundation was also off balance so it added to the existing problem. My other issue was that the armoire and nightstand drawers were broken creating a shabby environment in the room itself.”

“Overall the Hotel was quite nice. The only negative on the room was that the shower was old. Everything else in the room was very nice. The only other negative was the parking situation. As long as you do not have a big truck or SUV, it wasn't too bad. My family and I were very happy with our stay.”

• Friendly, cordial staff.
• Parking difficult; charged for extras that are usually free elsewhere (parking/refrigerator).

“Nice looking hotel with attractive looking rooms. Difficult getting into the hotel (parking is a hassle, must go through two sets of elevators to get to room). Although the room appeared "cleaned" and prepared for us, we had the joy of finding dirty towels in the closet and behind the bed, as well as discarded "foot care" items between the bed and window. This was one of those places where they charge you for parking, charge you for refrigerator, charge you for snacks (we didn't have them), and you must be prepared to tip valet and others. (We had to use valet parking because of the height of our van). We were going to meetings and the hotel situation added to the stress of the visit. Price was good, but we never would have stayed here if we knew what it would be like.”

• We were in a suite and it was perfect as my adult children like to sleep in and I could get up without disturbing them.
• The valet parking was expensive and you had to pay to use the refrigerator in the room.

“The hotel was perfect for us. The suite was large and had a great view of the planes coming into San Diego but the rooms were sound proof. We could walk anywhere in the Gas Lamp District and didn't have to both with driving or parking.”

• I liked that the hotel had a guest room with a fold out bed. It also had a television in the bedroom as well. I also enjoyed the view.
• The phone only worked on speaker, the soda machine was out and kept my money, although the front desk gave me 2 cans of soda to make up for it.

“This hotel was very nice! More than I expected. Just don't use the phone unless you want to pay $5 a phone call with surcharges on top of that. You might as well get valet parking because parking is $24 + tax and valet is $25 + tip of course.”

“Strange parking arrangement. You have to drive up 11 floors to park, and then take a lift to the 12th floor lobby. This made up for by one of the friendliest desk staffs in all of San Diego.”
