• Close to the airport - convenient location.
• Noise.

“My only complaint about this hotel was the noise. When people walked down the hall it almost sounded like they were in the room. I could also hear loud music coming from outside the hotel or from one of the nearby rooms late at night. The soundproofing was not good. The plumbing system was also very loud and the pipes would scratch each time someone turned on the shower. The hotel is attractive and the staff was very friendly, however I would probably choose to stay at another hotel next time.”

“My stay at the Omni was definitely enjoyable. It has a prime location within easy walking distance of the Trolley to get around town. Did not try the breakfast at the hotel but the nearby Mission Cafe is perfect. Went both days we were there and loved it. One of the only drawbacks we found were that the valet parking is $30/day. I noticed another reviewer mention the garage across the street is a max of $16/day and since we were just going to leave the car in and use public transit that worked perfectly. The other issue is that the hotel is located adjacent to the railroad that runs through San Diego. I would recommend any light sleepers try to get onto a higher floor to avoid the noise.”

• The location and access was outstanding.
• Excessive noise from the floor above until 2:30 AM.

“The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the convention and Gas Lamp District. The very popular Seaport Village is an easy walk of 15-20 minutes. Some rooms have outstanding views of the bay and downtown. If you come by car, parking is limited which makes valet parking, $30/day a must. I was disappointed that some partiers on the floor above kept us awake past 2:30 am and that at a cost of $30/day, the valet parking attendants didn't see fit to clean the bugs off my windshield. Clean and comfortable, I would recommend this hotel highly.”

“This hotel was situated in Downtown San Diego connected to Petco Park, which was perfect since we were going to the baseball game. It had a great fitness area, pool, bar and much more. I would love to stay there again! Great beautiful hotel.”

• Excellent location downtown. Perfect for walking to many of the great restaurants in the area.
• Parking fee is high.

“Great hotel in the heart of the downtown area. Close to everything including the Conference/Expo Center and Petco Field - actually attached to the field. Rooms are hyper clean and overall the hotel is excellent. I stay here when in San Diego and really like the place.”

“Hotel was great and the staff blew us away. We mentioned it was our honeymoon and they treated us to an upgrade on the room and provided us with complimentary champagne and chocolates. It was very sweet and everyone was very friendly.”

“Great location in the Gas lamp district and adjacent to Petco Park. We went to two Padres games so it was perfect. Parking is a bit pricey at $30 as is the food, but it is an excellent place to stay if you are going to the Padre game.”

• Excellent service and very kid friendly (including a backpack for the kids)!

“The Omni is an excellent hotel with a majestic view of the Pacific Ocean and PETCO park. From the 20th floor, you can even watch the Padres play baseball. The hotel was very kid friendly and included a backpack for our kids that included snacks, a drink that could be refilled with soda the entire stay and various toys and games. Overall, an excellent experience.”

“This is a fantastic hotel in the heart of the Gas lamp District. Restaurants, bars, and shops are a stone's throw and there is a great vibe coming from the PETCO Stadium. The only complaint was the $30/day valet parking option.”

“Hotel is very nice but sits next to active rail line that carries commuter rail and freight lines. Train horns a bit annoying. Also near a club where music could be heard in my room.”

“This is truly a four star hotel. Beautiful, clean, service oriented. But, if you want a fridge, that costs extra. If you want parking for your car, that costs extra. If you want a microwave, that costs extra. Not really a family style hotel. Too upscale for that.”

• Excellent room, just behind Red line train station. Two blocks from all kinds of restaurants, taxi, bus etc., Parking is expensive $30 a day.
• Parking is expensive. Restaurant did not have many vegetarian choices.

“Hotel is clean, friendly and spacious room. We got two double beds usually they may book one queen or king. Has Starbucks, however, complimentary coffee is available till 6 am. It is a block from Red line station, Petco Park (base ball stadium) and is 2 blocks from the road (can't remember the name) has all theaters, pubs, American, Indian, Chinese, Thai, Mexican, Greek, Mediterranean restaurants and all name it. Approx: $60 for 3. Taxi is always available just outside the hotel and approx $15 from zoo, cruise, museums etc., and the parking is $30/day - so dont bother to rent a car. Redline is 5 minutes walk, so going to Tijuana, Downtown is breeze. We bought a City pass and were able to get around with out problem or spending too much.”

“Staff was friendly. Reasonably-priced parking nearby. Superb access to trolley station. Prime location adjacent to Gaslamp quarter and Petco stadium. Free high-speed internet access. Occasional noise from freight trains nearby. Modern decor. Upgraded to nice room on 19th floor. Amazing view of SD Bay, Coronado Island, Point Loma. Would like to stay there again.”

“The Omni was a very nice hotel in a very nice part of downtown San Diego. Unfortunately, parking is a major cost and inconvenience. The 24 hour valet is $30 per night, and the parking structure (which fills quickly on Saturday) is $16 overnight. Street parking is only possible on the weeknights. However, parking aside, our stay was very enjoyable and I would definitely stay here again if possible.”

• I was very close to the Downtown Gas Lamp and next door to the ballpark.
• Not a lot of staff by the pool.

“If you are looking for a quality hotel, this is the one. There was not a gift shop in the hotel, but there is tons close by. I'm going back.”

• Valet parking for $30? Could have a bigger, deeper bathtub, and why doesn't the Omni have a bar at the top?

“The Omni provided me with everything I could want in a nice hotel. Great room, friendly staff, great location, nice beds, and while I didn't eat in the restaurant, the hostess was very helpful and the menu seemed quite good.”

• Location, view, pool, and Staff were all great.
• The wall between the bathroom and bedroom has shutters that do not block any noise.

“The hotel is located right at the corner of the gas lamp quarter. It has a great staff that was extremely attentive to our needs. The rooms are nice, and ours offered a balcony and a view of the pool and the water. The main downside to the room was that the wall between the bathroom and bedroom had shutters that did not block out the noise from the bathroom at all. It also let light through to the bedroom. Otherwise, we felt it was wonderful. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub.”

• It was appealing because it was a smaller, more personal hotel and very well located for local attractions.
• The bar staff was a bit too friendly with each other. Did not like being called "dear" by the head bartender not professional.

• Parking is 30 per night. Walls a bit thin.

“Excellent hotel for the money and being a solo traveler. Very clean and comfortable. I'm a very light sleeper and the walls are a bit thin, but the staff was very helpful in getting me some ear plugs. Turned out I didn't need them. Only one restaurant was open but the food was great. Dozens of other restaurants a block away.”

• The modern decor is very attractive and the location is great.
• The single pedestal sink in the bathroom did not give much room for make-up or toiletries.

“This hotel is very attractive and is located just at the edge of the Historic Gas lamp District. There are many restaurants a very short walk away, as well as a McCormick and Schmick in the hotel. We had a beautiful view of the harbor. The only thing I didn't like (besides the $30 per night valet parking, $18 for self-park that wasn't convenient) was that the bathroom had only one sink, no counter, no make-up mirror, and minimal shelf space. Despite that, I would be pleased to stay there again.”

“I keep coming back to this hotel because of its location. Superb Gaslamp Quarter location makes it great for dining, walking, freeway close and Public transportation access. If you have a car, find alternate ways to avoid hefty $30 daily charge (plus valet tip every time you take car out).”
