• Beautiful view of San Diego Harbor and Down Town, elegant rooms with robes and pillow top beds. Great staff!
• There was a train that ran several times very near by that blew it whistle late at night and early morning, which woke us up a few times.

“Our room was very nice, supplied with robes, pillow top beds and a modern decor. We had a view of the convention center, harbor and downtown San Diego. The hotel staff was very helpful in providing directions and information about San Diego and there was a very nice restaurant in the hotel (McCormick and Schmick's).”

• Clean bathroom, bedroom, located next to Ballpark in SD.
• Need a better pool atmosphere, kind of boring. Band would be cool.

“OMNI San Diego is conveniently located next to the new Baseball stadium and the Gaslamp District. Adjacent to the new Hard Rock Hotel and the convention center. Public transport via the Trolley is around the corner. Took the trolley to the Qualcomm stadium for the Chargers game. Nice hotel.”

• Overall excellent quality and high standards all around.
• Street noise heard from room, no view, disappointed in room-type selection (double beds).

“Excellent all-around luxury hotel. Convenient location, friendly staff, beautiful lobby, nicely appointed room. Gaslamp Quarter is noisy and rowdy on a Saturday night and is apparent from lower-floor rooms. Overall a wonderful hotel.”

• Being Downtown, there are homeless people mulling around.

“Can't beat the location to explore the city. Right in the middle of Downtown and the Gaslamp District, walk to the shops and restaurants, Seaport Village, Petco Stadium, Convention Center. I loved it compared to another hotel I split my time with. Rooms are large, immaculate and contemporarily decorated. Looking forward to my next Omni stay.”

• Beds very small, night bars very noise, could not sleep.

“I enjoyed the hotel and the staff. I like the decor. I was disappointed with restaurant, food not good. Beds were small. The location is great, but the night bars around it made it impossible to fall asleep. It was loud. Perhaps, it needs sound proof windows.”

• Great location if you're planning to catch a game at Petco.
• When the Padres are in town, it can be difficult to get to the hotel because roads are blocked off.

“If you're going to a Padres game, the Omni is an excellent choice. There's an escalator/walkway that only Omni guests can use that takes you right into Petco Park. (Afterwards, anyone leaving the game can use this route.) If you're not going to a game, and the Padres are in town, several roads leading to the hotel close and can be difficult to navigate. The Gaslamp district is nearby, so shopping and several dining choices are within walking distance. Valet parking is $30 a day. There's a parking garage directly across the street from the front entrance of the Omni that charges a maximum of $16 per 24 hours. (I believe it charged about $1/hour up to $16 a day.).”

• It was a very contemporary hotel with great service. Parking is expensive, but the valet service made it worth it. Great location and safe.
• Did not have a lot of drawer space. Definitely suited more for business traveler. Still, was a wonderful experience.

“This hotel is located right next to Petco Park. It can be difficult to get to the hotel within an hour or two of game time, but the atmosphere is terrific. The staff was really great and very helpful. Asked for and received two beds and no smoking. Would love to get this hotel. Beware, it is a four star and you will pay four star prices for parking and restaurant. However, it is worth it.”

• You have to pay for parking and the valet parking is twice the price of the lot across the street.

“Beautiful hotel. Modern clean and stylish. Great location for downtown shopping and dinning. Awesome pool and spa. The free drinks for our child was a nice touch.”

“This is a good hotel in Downtown San Diego, especially if you want to attend a Padres baseball game. (Hotel is adjacent to the ballpark.) Also convenient to restaurants and the waterfront. Trolley stop is just a block away.”

• Very modern, upscale design.
• Pool area was small, no coffee shop/casual dining options.

“Hotel was nice - staff was outstanding. Great location for taking advantage of Petco Park and Gas Lamp District. Room was ok - nicely decorated, but bathroom door (it was a sliding door) did not physically fit the opening, so privacy was an issue when using the facilities. If you wanted a quiet area to stay in, beware, you can hear the street noise until 1 am.”

• The location next to Petco baseball park was fun and the team stayed at the hotel.
• No free parking.

“The check in staff was friendly and the room was large with balcony doors that opened and viewed the harbor. We watched the Padres play baseball from our bathroom window. The staff gave us free baseball tickets as well. Clean and bright. Will stay there again.”

• The management was responsive to my problem.
• The safe was broken. We were told it would be fixed twice, but was not.

“The room on our first night was very small and worn out. The worst problem was that the wall between the bathroom and the bedroom, which was 2 feet from the bed, did not have a solid wall. It was 5 feet long and had two wooden shutters in it that were each at least 1 and a half feet long, from floor to ceiling, that were not solid and stayed a bit open, like shutters do. The door to the bathroom was the same way: shutters. There was no privacy at all. I couldn't go in the bathroom and turn the light on without disturbing my husband. I did not sleep all night. I talked to the manager the next morning and she moved us to a room with a solid wall and door to the bathroom. This room was also a little bigger. Everything was worn out and the TV was small and old in both rooms. The lobby was bare and not elegant at all. The coffee shop was a very small convenience store, not a coffee shop at all. There was only one place to eat or drink. Overall, the hotel was not a 4 star experience. We have stayed at many hotels all over the world and we know what a 4 star hotel should be like. The Omni is not 4 star material.”

“Fabulous hotel room beyond my wildest expectations. Do I have any legitimate right to complain? I do not think that I do. Thanks to the terrific city of San Diego, my stay was fantastic.”

• Great location to Petco Park, staff was very helpful and friendly.
• $30.00 to park is very high.

“Beautiful hotel, great pool, great exercise room and a very friendly and accommodating staff. If you are in town to see a game at Petco Park, this is the place to stay because the park is virtually connected to the hotel. Be mindful that rooms facing the park on game nights experience a lot of noise after the games as the stadium crew cleans all night long (closing the hotel window shuts out 95% of it). I think the best rooms are above 15 floors and overlooking the pool (they have balcony's).”

• Everything we needed was in walking distance. The car was parked and we walked or took a short taxi ride to were we needed to go.
• I haven't any complaints.

“Comfortable, space and clean rooms. Within walking distance to fine dining or casual dining. Close to the theatre where we saw "Phantom of the Opera". We had dinner at the "House of Blues" and shopped at the Horton Plaza. The weather was fantastic. It was close to the train station, and a Taxi ride took about 2 seconds to get. Would highly recommend this hotel to my friends. The staff was so helpful and always welcomed us back when we would return from our outings. We didn't eat at the hotel only because we were wanting to get out into the fantastic weather and walk around. But the restaurant was always full.”

“This property is in a primo location, the Padre's stadium is next door and it is in the "gas lamp district". The facility is clean and well maintained. The employees were very friendly and helpful. Had a great experience.”

• There was hair in the tub and the toilet was slow, we were directed to a new room.

“The hotel was nice, a 3 star in my opinion. We had to change rooms due to issues with the tub and plumbing, a headache. Only to have to listen to a loud party by the pool downstairs, that was cleared till 11 pm. The hotel does not offer free parking, you have to pay $15/a day for parking or valet for $30. No in-room coffee or mini fridge. The hotel bellhops were fast and friendly! The pool and workout facility was nice.”

• This hotel was a very nice hotel, more for younger singles.
• Not very family oriented and parking was horrible.

“I would recommend this hotel for a young couple or singles, who like the party scene. I would not recommend this hotel for a family vacation, the parking is very expensive and hard to find. The hotel does not cater to families or children.”

• It is close to the Gaslamp Entertainment District and the San Diego Trolley system.
• The parking is a major issue. No self-park at hotel. Must valet @ $30 per night or park in public lot at approximately $20 per night.

“The Omni Hotel in San Diego is beautiful. It's in a prime location near the Gaslamp District, Convention Center and San Diego Trolley system. The staff at the registration desk were friendly and efficient. The only negative issues I encountered were the excessive parking cost($30 per night valet or approx. $20 per 24 hour period at a public lot across the street - with no in/out privileges) and the design of the restrooms. The restroom was separated from the rest of the room by sliding French doors that did not close all the way. There were also slatted blinds that do not allow for much privacy. I think it is a very poor design for such a high-end hotel.”

• Location! Everything is in walking distance.
• Parking is $. Room needed better lighting. Area a bit congested.

“Contemporary room. Pool on 6th floor. Room safe sits atop a shelf in closet-although not bolted down! Valet staff and bellman was very helpful. Right at end of busy Gas lamp District. Across from the very popular and busy Hard rock Hotel [and popular Pink berry Yogurt shop]. An array of restaurants awaits you - night life is really active. In the area-lots of clubs, young people and activity on a Saturday night. Not to mention a shopping mall, Horton Plaza.”

• Overpriced, not children friendly, loud rooms.

“Overpriced - parking is $30 a day and they do not disclose that until you get there. Parking across the street is $8.00 and they don't tell you. The rooms are extremely loud. We were on the 11th floor and still could not sleep because the noise on the street was so loud. It is in the middle of bars and strip joints so not good for kids or to walk around at night - should be good for party goers but not families.”

• They didn't offer two queen beds in a room. We had to have our children stay with their aunt. My husband is 6'4" so double beds do not work for us.

“I would recommend for anyone who desire an upscale location within walking distance of seaport village, excellent shopping experiences and restaurants. A lively place for everyone and the sports minded as well.”

• Ocean view rooms, provided connecting rooms, location is awesome! Check out is 12:00 which is nice!
• Valet parking was $30 per car!

“It was my daughters 18th birthday. We had 3 rooms. The staff at the Omni welcomed us and went above and beyond my expectations for serving all our needs! They provided maps for walking the downtown area and mentioned that there was public parking across the street.”

• $30 parking, room was small, was hoping for a Jacuzzi tub, linens were low quality.

“Was not up to expectations. Bathtub should have been cleaner. Door to TV cabinet swung out in the way of room. Small room. Was expecting better quality linens.”
