• Very clean.Staff friendly and helpful. Beautiful overall. In a convenient area of the city.

“Very nice stay here. The hotel is lovely and the rooms were very clean and well cared for. Staff is friendly, accommodating. Lots of towels available for the use with the pool. I used the fitness center everyday, it was clean and equipment was modern. Indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub very nice! Glad we won this on Priceline!”

• Very musty, desperately needs renovation

“The hotel staff were very friendly (with one exception) and responsive to our needs. The pool is also nice. But the interior of the hotel is in desperate need of renovation. When walking the hallways, I was reminded of being in a college dorm... musty and even sweaty-smelling. The carpets and wallpaper were very brown and very old, and there was frequently scraps of paper/wrappers littering the hallway. That being said, the cleaning staff were very responsive and did a good job. All-in-all, we had a nice experience, but that was thanks to the staff, not the facility. This is NOT a 3-star hotel.”

• If a problem came up it was immediately taken care of to my satisfaction. The staff was friendly and very good at their jobs.
• I didn't like the fact that they charged for water bottles in room $5.00 for large bottle Fuji water.

“I was very pleased with the price and condition of the hotel. Luxurious towels and bedding. Spacious room. Parking was conveniant. Add on for parking but overall still a very good price for hotel accommodations.”

• Attractive lobby.
• Low star quality room and charge for breakfast, internet, parking, etc.

“The room was just mediocre. A few weeks ago a stayed at a no name hotel the was a lower star quality and it far surpassed the quality of the hotel stay here.”

  complimentary newspaper.
• It did not have such amenities as a refrigeration unit.

“I was very satisfied with the weekend getaway at the Mission Valley Doubletree hotel. The room was spacious with a beautiful view overlooking the courtyard of various eateries. The service desk was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the complimentary newspaper to begin my work week. Overall, I had a positive experience at the Mission Valley Doubletree Hotel.”

• Newish hotel located next to freeway.
• Freeway noise for South Facing Rooms.

“The Doubletree Mission Valley is a relatively new high rise hotel, located next to the 163 Freeway. The rooms are up to normal Doubletree standards. I had a double with a balcony on the fifth floor. As the room had a sliding glass door the noise from the nearby 163 freeway was a little loud. Those who need quiet may want to get a northeast facing room. The pool area was popular during my stay, as was the lobby area. There is a parking fee, but there is limited street parking on the dead end street in front of the hotel.”

• Conveniently located.
• Not within walking distance of anything.

“Friendly staff. The staff make this a wonderful place to stay. We called when we were unable to open the sliding door. Maintenance man did not even laugh (well he chuckled a little) when all he had to do was show us how to push the unlock button. Yes we felt foolish. Morning paper was appreciated. Free cookie at check in was a nice touch. The cookies were warm. The in room coffee was well stocked with options.”

• This hotel was fabulous, there couldn't have been a better location to stay in SD!

“This is a great hotel! Very clean rooms and extremely helpful and friendly staff! Aside from the friendly staff and convenient location (great for kids), it has a gym, pool, hot tub and massage services. Room service is 24 hours a day. A definite must!”

• The staff was wonderful and I loved the pool. The outside area was very relaxing.
• I thought the food was way over priced. The parking is also way over priced.

“It is a very nice hotel . They were very pet friendly. The pool is open 24 hours which is nice. It is very clean and very welcoming. They also have nearby off site parking if you do not want to pay to park.”

• The pool had so much chlorine that both my kids and another man swimsuit discolored.

“The hotel overall was fine. The rooms need to be updated. The pool had too much chlorine that it bleached my kids swim suites white and stung their eyes. I would recommend this place because the beds are comfortable, good staff, and close to S.D Sea World and Zoo.”

• Parking fee 14.00 a day and 14.00 a day internet charge. Too small of coffee pot.

“The room was clean and modern. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was updated and nice. The air conditioning worked well and was quiet. The hotel is bordered on two sides by freeway, but the noise level was surprisingly quiet.”

• Pay parking-not infromed until I received bill next morning $14 per night.

“This hotel is lovely and seems to have been recently remodeled. Extremely comfortable beds with lots of pillows. Polite helpful staff. Very attractive lobby. Nice pool area, but no other grounds. Convenient location and driveway but parking is pay and was not mentioned until it appeared on our bill in the morning. At check-in, you are given the most delicious chocolate chip cookie. We didn't eat meals here because it seemed expensive but there are many reasonable restaurants nearby.”

“I was really disappointed that they charged us an extra $10.00 per night to have a balcony in a non-smoking hotel. If you are not going to offer smoking rooms, then you shouldn't charge if we need a balcony to be able to smoke.”

“Hotel was clean and attractive, but a bit "out of the way". We checked in and got to our room just as the power in the hotel went off. It kept doing this for the next several hours. Self parking of $14.00/night is rediculous. This is not a downtown location!”

• The room exceeded my expectations.
• Could use a nice restaurant.

“Hotel was very nice. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to other travelers. Very close to the movies. Only one issue and that was parking. If you park in the structure it could cost you, but I found parking on the street; directly across from the hotel so that made my stay even better. Hotel does not offer a find dining restaurant. The dining experience was to casual for what we were looking for; the food was ok. I would stay there again.”

• the location is great for shopping. Trolley stop right out front. 1 stop from Fashion Valley and 1 stop from Mission Valley Malls. Good cookies.

• Comfort and friendly.
• Had to pay to use the parking garage.

“I enjoyed my stay here. It was quiet and comfortable. My room was cleaned to perfection. The staff was very helpful with getting my cab and anything else I needed. The 1 thing I didn’t like was I had to pay for parking in the garage. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.”

• Friendly staff and clean rooms.
• The closet doors would shake every time someone in the hallway would close their doors. All night we heard those noises.

“Staff were friendly, rooms were clean however first we heard dogs barking on our floor for about 10 minutes late at night and then the glass closet doors would rattle every time someone would open and shut their hotel door in the hallway. It made it very hard to sleep there was a lot of opening and shutting doors through the entire night. I was very disappointed in that respect. Not sure if I would stay there again.”

• Got locked out, key door wouldn't work. Took about 1 hour to get in.

“Lovely clean rooms. Windows needed cleaning. Great pool area, yet the pool was extremely warm. Don't like to pay for parking. Overall satisfied with room, facilities, and staff.”

• Receptionist & bellboy were very friendly.
• Housekeeper hardly clean my room. Charges imposed to park car in hotel parking lot. The tub was clogged-up.

“My first time staying at a hotel in California and not a very good experience. I do not find this a good customer service for gives an unpleasant experience to people on vacation and on a budget. But hotel clients would not have any choice but pay for the daily charges the hotel imposes on you just to park your rental car. Then my housekeeper hardly cleans my room, and even took away all the drinking glasses.”
