• Front staff was awesome.
• Lots of traffic nearby.

“This hotel was superb; the front staff was super friendly and went out of their way to help. I also received an in-house massage treatment which was also good. There are plenty of restaurants, theaters, and entertainment within walking distance and only 15mins. To zoo, and Balboa park.”

• Unfortunately, we were in a smoking room.

• I love this hotel.
• I don't like paying for parking.

“I have stayed at this hotel a few times and am always satisfied. I don't like paying $12 for parking and it can be a bit noisy since it is right next to the freeway. But, it is super convenient. I would definitely stay here again!”

• The staff is the friendliest and the public areas are beautiful. Convenient to SD Trolley, one stop from shopping.
• The pocket bathroom door was difficult to move and did not have a lock.

“The Doubletree Mission Valley is an excellent hotel with staff that goes the extra mile. The public areas were beautiful and elegant. The location is exceptional, there is a multiplex theatre in the adjoining shopping center as well as restaurants and shops, and two more very popular San Diego shopping malls within one stop (in opposite directions) on the Trolley, which is located just across the street and is very clean and safe. San Diego is a very metropolitan city with a laid back vibe and reminds me of other cities I have visited in Europe and Canada.”

• The location couldn't be beat. Close to hotel circle, mission valley mall, and 15 min. To the beach and Downtown!
• Would love to have had robes in the room, but that would probably make it a 4 star.

“I hope Im able to stay here again. The parking was easy, the lobby is beautiful, the staff is great, the bed was extremely comfortable and the location was ideal.”

• The staff was wonderful and accommodating.
• The absurd $12.00 a night parking fee.

“This hotel is off the beaten path and difficult to find. The staff was helpful, pleasant, and went out of their way to make us happy. However the 12.00 a night parking fee just rubs me raw!”

• Very nice hotel, very nice staff - all around we were extremely pleased.
• We were traveling with people that had 4 small children that were loud. The hotel was great, but I was worried - it was a little too nice for loud.

“Everything was absolutely wonderful. I would definitely recommend this hotel. There are nice shopping areas and eateries within walking distance. The shuttle driver from the airport was very pleasant. All around - super.”

• Location near trolley, shops and restaurants was excellent.
• Trolley information and schedule in the rooms would be helpful.

“The room was clean and comfortable. The closet door was off of its tracks which showed a small lack of attention to detail. Location at the Hazard Center and Trolley Station made transportation to Qualcomm Stadium and Old Town very convenient. The gym is typically small for hotels, but okay for cardio machine workout. YMCA gym is located in Hazard Center and two 24 Hour Fitness gyms are close by on the trolley (Mission Valley Center and Mission San Diego Stations). Contact the hotel as soon as possible after you land at the airport or you might have a 20-30 minute wait for complimentary shuttle service. I would highly recommend this hotel, particularly if you want to forgo renting a car.”

• Location, drug store in the lobby.
• Charge for Wi-Fi at business hotel. Thought parking charge was way too expensive.

“Good hotel, better for business than for family. Close to shops. Staff was not "willing." They would help you if asked. Didn't volunteer to do anything. Also couldn't set the heat above 70 which was I guess to save money, but provided a cold room and there were no blankets in the room.”

• Decor and architecture was beautiful, and rooms were clean and stylish.
• Was difficult to find and parking was not convenient. No refrigerator in the room, and high quality beds were nothing more than cheap mattress pads.

“For the price, this hotel did not meet our standards. Although it was clean and beautiful, I did not feel "at home" there. We've come to expect a refrigerator in hotels of this quality, but had none in our room. The mattresses, touted as higher quality, were not comfortable. The linens and comforter, however, were very nice. Staffs was very friendly and polite, but were in conversations with each other every time we spoke with them. All in all, a nice hotel, but not worth the price.”

“We did stay very long at the hotel. Basically slept there and off we went. Good location, my only complaint was our room faced the freeway and could hear the traffic, but didn't keep us from sleeping.”

• Very convenient location, professional staff, nice lobby, 2nd floor connected to small shopping center.
• Expensive parking, staff is professional but need to be warmer, no lock on bathroom door in the room, old elevator, old temperature control.

“This hotel is nice and ideal for business traveler. Location is very convenient, close to downtown, major attractions, airport. It has outdoor and indoor pool, outdoor Jacuzzi, fitness center, nice lobby. Not too family-friendly in my opinion. The door from parking lot is not automatic. It's hard to open the door when your hands are full (hold your kids hand, push a stroller). No pool for kids. Parking is $12 per day. It has a wired and wireless high speed internet. Internet is $10.95 per day. No refrigerator in the room. Staff is professional, but they need a little bit warmer in my opinion. No lock on bathroom door, fortunately, it's hard to open the door (small kids won't be able to open it). When I first came into the room, the ac was not on (room is hot, bathroom smells rather unpleasant. Temperature control is old (manual, and it doesn't show current temperature). Old elevator.”

• The location close was great; we were visiting colleges and this within 5 minutes.
• Our room looked out of the lobby roof and air conditioner was noisy.

“Overall the hotel was great, clean and upscale. Close to trolley line if you don't take your car. Also nearby were several restaurants and a grocery store. They were out of towels by the pool but that was the only downside.”

“The hotel was greatly up-kept; the pool was open 24 hours. The employees were very attentive to guests needs and accommodated them well. The only drawback was a room with no view (garage parking wall outside of room). Otherwise, I will stay here again with my family. The location is perfect, and lots of nearby restaurants etc.”

• AC unit was week on 9th floor.

“Great decor, clean. Parking $12.00. Self valet $15.00. Fast service but pay to park is on top of room rate. In hotel restaurant not open for dinner. Shopping close for quick shopping right around the corner within walking distance also a few restaurants. Others short drive and 2 major malls. Hotel has outside pool inside lap pool and some fitness equipments. Close to beach, sea world, zoo, downtown, etc. What you come to San Diego to do shop prices.”

“This is a great hotel. We were greeted with warm cookies. The room was clean and well stocked. We only stayed one night, yet we came in contact with the lady at the desk, who was helpful and professional. When we left my niece asked for 3 additional cookies, and the receptionist happily gave them to her.”
