• Friendly staff and clean rooms.
• The closet doors would shake every time someone in the hallway would close their doors. All night we heard those noises.

“Staff were friendly, rooms were clean however first we heard dogs barking on our floor for about 10 minutes late at night and then the glass closet doors would rattle every time someone would open and shut their hotel door in the hallway. It made it very hard to sleep there was a lot of opening and shutting doors through the entire night. I was very disappointed in that respect. Not sure if I would stay there again.”

• Got locked out, key door wouldn't work. Took about 1 hour to get in.

• Receptionist & bellboy were very friendly.
• Housekeeper hardly clean my room. Charges imposed to park car in hotel parking lot. The tub was clogged-up.

“My first time staying at a hotel in California and not a very good experience. I do not find this a good customer service for gives an unpleasant experience to people on vacation and on a budget. But hotel clients would not have any choice but pay for the daily charges the hotel imposes on you just to park your rental car. Then my housekeeper hardly cleans my room, and even took away all the drinking glasses.”

• Comfortable beds.
• Poorly maintained, we had a broken slide door that had to be left open for two nights.

“Poor maintenance in this hotel. We had a broken sliding glass door. It was not fixed the first night we were promised it would get fixed the next morning when we got back to our room the second night it was still not fixed and had to sleep with a broken door again. Poor service.”

• Clean and big room, great pools, nice location.
• Almost got wrong room.

“Very nice location, great big room. They have both indoor and outdoor pool that is well heated, open from 6 to 10 PM (indoor is 24 hrs). At night, pool side fire pit was lit and I can imagine it will be great for adult couples to have drinks etc, as well as very fun for kids.”

• The restaurant did not gouge prices! Great food, reasonable $.
• The check in line/tap water tasted awful.

“Two pools, a fire pit, great food at decent prices, friendly staff, very clean, dog friendly, cookies on check in. All around great. Check in line was long and the tap water is dreadful. Bring a bottle of water to avoid having to buy a $4 bottle in the room. A great place to stay!”

“The Double Tree of Mission Valley is located on a quiet cul-de-sac, just off of the freeway. On the premises is Hazard Center Mall, which just feet away. This hotel comes highly recommend, if you have a family, or just it is a weekend get away with a spouse. The rooms were nice and clean. Very spacious room to say the least. The bed was extremely comfortable, and not disappointing. One doesn't wake up with a sore back, or body aches.”

• Loved the room, very comfortable bed and lots of space to move around in.
• Didn't like the 2nd story room location. Neighbors were a little too noisy.

“Loved the location and the quality of the rooms. Enjoyed the warm cookies upon check-in. They did not have a room with two Queen/Double beds for my spouse and daughters. So they gave us a King and brought in a roll away bed. That worked for us. We loved the gym and pool area with it's outdoor fire pits!”

• It was great. Was a little further from some points of interest.

“I did have a problem when I arrived. The receptionist was not the most friendly person but after discussing this with him found us a room. Aside from that, the rest of the staff, the hotel was great. Would go back.”

• The Double Tree was very beautiful, romantic, the staff was incredible.
• Nothing.

“The Double Tree is a 5 star upscale that is a perfect romantic get away from the fire pits by the pool. To the lush tropical setting. The room was more than comfortable and the interior decorating was right on the money plenty of soft fluffy pillows and the beds are also very comfortable. I am a Princess and the Pea sleeper and I was very comfortable. We will stay her again.”

• They had the best cookies upon arrival. Their room service was good and the food was very tasty. They are also centrally located to the mall, theatre.
• The TV in the room was small.

• Good location with amenities and restaurants and movie theater close by.
• 4th floor with view of nothing but a rock roof and freeway.

“Other than the crappy view, it was an excellent hotel. They first provided us a smoking room and we strongly made it clear, we wanted a non smoking room. After a 1/2 hr wait they made one available. We were there for a soccer tournament and having restaurants or other things to do within walking distance was a plus. It appeared to be an upscale neighborhood which made for a feeling of security.”

• Indoor and outdoor pool, the access to fitness room and close by restaurant and mall.
• There were no refrigerators in room or microwaves available. Room service was highly priced.

“The Double Tree was more than expected. The rooms were very neat and clean. I loved the 24hr access to the fitness room and indoor pool. The towels and linen were sparkling white. I felt at home as well as felt I had all the privacy I needed. I would love to stay there over and over again. I think the charges for parking were too high though.”

• Beautiful hotel with excellent & friendly staff, comfortable bed & spacious rooms.
• No parking - to park there you had to pay $12/day. Not economical.

“The hotel is a beautiful hotel with spacious rooms and very comfortable beds. I love the bathroom products they provide and the cleanliness and fresh, clean, airy rooms. The rooms didn't smell musty or starchy like most hotels. The only things I didn't like were the fact that the windows only opened about 2 inches on each side of the window, but the curtains blocked that small opening so you can't get any fresh air or the cool breeze in the room. And, there is no public parking. You have to pay $12/day to park even just a couple of hours, and visitors (family that met us there to carpool) couldn't park either without paying $12 and they weren't even at the hotel. Otherwise, excellent and very satisfying experience. Two thumbs up!”

“I would highly recommend this hotel. We enjoyed our room and easy access to Sea World and other points of interest. You can purchase tickets at the front desk to board the train across the street to Old Town, shopping malls and Seaport Village. It was a fun time.”

• The smoking odor.

“The room was assigned as a non-smoking room. But the smoking odor was really bad which indicated to us that either this room was recently converted from a smoking room or some previous guests smoked in the room. Other than that every else was just fine!”
